Make sure to try an order of “wings”, they come with a side of blue cheese dressing and celery. Beer battered haddock fish fry is really popular in Buffalo and is usually available at most restaurants only on Fridays. Try local sponge candy, beef on weck sandwich with horseradish or loganberry drink they are delicious. Buffalo has a lot of really good restaurants so do yourself a favor and avoid chain restaurants while your here.

Bring layers of clothes, weather in Buffalo can fluctuate quite dramatically any time of year.
Getting around
Driving in Buffalo
You can drive almost anywhere in the Buffalo area in 30 minutes. Be aware of the weather in winter and avoid driving in areas expecting “snow bands” as they cause whiteout conditions, put car flashers on and continue driving until you can safely get off the road. Pulling over to the side of the road can be dangerous as you might get hit by a snow plow truck or worse your car can be buried in snow by a snow plow truck. Buffalonians have a bad habit of going through red lights so always look before pulling into an intersection.

Bar hopping
Pace yourself bars are open till 4am, many people don’t even leave their house till 11pm to go out. Feel free to chat people up at the bar, people from Buffalo are very friendly.
