The very best ice cream in Copenhagen. And it’s only 200 meters from the apartment. They’re unique in the sense that they’re dairyfree. But don’t be fooled this icecream beats the traditional kinds by lenghts - and I am some what of an ice cream expert.

You will find Hanzō at Værnedamsvej, a charming little street that bridges the neighborhoods of Vesterbro and Frederiksberg. Take a seat in the colorful dining room or in one of the nooks in the “secret” back alley – which you will have to sneak through the waiters’ corridor and the kitchen to find. The menu at Hanzō is wide with many different Asian dishes. In general, the atmosphere at Hanzō is relaxed and with the food in focus – which we really like!

Café Sonja has been around for more than 30 years and have a large and loyal customer base - young, old, families with children. What I love about this place is that it is non-profit and helps the local community. Price points are also really nice compared to your standard coffee shops in Copenhagen. Another cool thing is that the café is situated on Saxogade which actually is a green shopping street working for an economic, social and green bottomline. A nice place to stop by to support the local community! Here's how the describe themself: "Café Sonja is food with meaning and good taste for a good cause".

Latest craze to hit Copenhagen is Cider. Holm Cider is both a bar and shop only selling Ciders(!), it's small and simple, but the vast difference in taste and complexity of the Cider really is amazing. If you're lucky, the bartender will give you a free sample tasting, but I won't make any promises;) If you need inspiration my favourite is the French ciders, but the Danish ones are also great.

In the courtyard you find cafées and restaurants with organic food and sometimes events and live music. This is a hidden gem!

When talking about Copenhagen abroad, the Tivoli gardens is always mentioned. It is a very unique place in the middle of Copenhagen, about a 15 min walk from my apartment, but it's definitely not cheap. It is quite touristy, being one of the worlds oldest operating theme parks (opened in 1843). It has world class rides and foods, but just a walk inside with an ice cream is more than sufficient. I prefer going in the evening as the whole place lights up. On Fridays from April-September you have free concerts hosting huge names like Kanye West, Jessie J etc etc. It only costs the entrance which is 110DKK (no rides included).

When you see a photo or postcard from Copenhagen, it is more than likely that this place is what is pictured. Nyhavn is a very scenic, but also very touristy place. Danes tend to keep away from it due to the highly overpriced food and beer. But if you can get some great pictures of the colourfull facades of Nyhavn. It's worth to see, but not to eat there! From Nyhavn there's also frequent boat tours which is quite a nice trip in the city's harbour and canals.
