Food scene

A favorite of ours for celebrating special events. We always ask for a table by the window so we can enjoy a view of the inlet.

Most popular hiking trail in town. Short .75-1.5 hour hike depending on ability. Great views from the top of the city and inlet. Try one of the other trails from the parking lot for a more rugged hike into the rest of the Chugach mountains. Or if you simply want a easy view, there is a short overlook trail right next to the parking lot. No hiking required.

City advice

Getting around

Anchorage is a sprawling city. A car would be best, but plenty to do in the downtown area walking.

Don't stick to only Anchorage! Day trips to the Matsu Valley, Hatcher's Pass, Girdwood, Portage, and Seward are our personal favorites.
