Beer

Sacramento has quickly become one of the hottest regions for craft brewing. Hands-down, one of the most breweries per-capita than any other place in the nation. Hands-down, one of the BEST places for beer and to enjoy the many different and unique offerings that each of the establishments bring to the scene. Here are some of my favorites!
One of Sacramento'best. Also have a tap room in Folsom.
New Glory Craft Brewery

This is truly one of the greater Sacramento areas best brewers. Nationally recognized and awarded. It's a bit of a drive (30 mins from your abnb, but worth it.) Knee Deep is only 500 yards away and they are one or the original breweries to launch the Sacramento area into brewery heaven status.

This could be both in the Beer and Food section. This is a tap house. They typically have a great selection of beer, but their food and burgers are some of the best in the Arden area.

This too is being added as a point of reference. Burning Barrel is great. If you are here, then you are in what is called the "Barrel" district of Rancho Cordova's beer scene. Look up the breweries around you and have fun checking them out!

If your trip has you going to the North side of Sacramento (Rocklin, Roseville), then this is your go-to brewery. It has quickly become nationally known as one of the best breweries in the nation. My opinion is that it is "Okay". So why am I including it here? Well, because the North side of the Sacramento valley is a bit of a beer desert. Don't get me wrong - you're going to go to Moksa and you are going to have a great beer, but the hype over their beers is a bit much. I have just as good of beers at the others I have mentioned.

Wine

Here are a collection of wineries that we frequent. The great thing about Sacramento is that we right smack dab in the middle of wine countries. To the NW of us, Napa, to the NE of us, the Auburn/Nevada County Triangle, to the S/SW of us Lodi, Clarksburg (home of the Sugar Mill, Bogle and more), and SE of us Jackson, Amador and Sutter. You simply cannot go in any direction and NOT eventually be in wine country. There are too many wineries to list, but when you get here - we'll open and enjoy a bottle from one of our area favorites.
This is a one stop shop. 12+ wineries all under one roof. Excellent atmosphere, large and a great place to picnic, get great food truck eats and enjoy live music. We particularly enjoy Todd Taylor wines.

This is a very unique winery. Modern and industrial in design. This is essentially being posted as your starting point for Amador County wineries. Start here, and venture your way to the next winery, and the next, and the next.

Food scene

These are the places we frequent. They are not chain restaurants, but locally owned establishments that do what they do and do it well.
This is our go-to Sushi spot in OUR neighborhood. Want off the beaten path good sushi? This is your place. It's not much to look at and you'll be second guessing this suggestion the entire time you're walking up to the place, but you won't when you're leaving!

Ok - We're from Arizona. We know good Mexican food. Not Tex Mex, Not Baja Mex, but the Mexican food that is slathered in sauce and requires both a fork and spoon to finish the plate. This is our go-to place when we are feeling a little home sick for our Arizona Mexican food scene.

This is another great fast Mexican food eatery. The ingredients are always fresh and it's quick. Not a wait staff style restaurant. It's like Chipotle, but with traditional Mexican food.

Activity

There is no shortage of things to do in and around Sacramento. The American River Trail (also known as the Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail) is one of the most utilized bike paths in the western US. It spans a wopping 35 miles and is only one of a number of bike trails that parallel our rivers. If this interest you, you can also look at trails that take you between Sacramento and Davis California. Hiking and biking in the area of Auburn is also a popular attraction; as is enjoying the upper American River for rafting.
American River Trail can be walked, run or biked. It goes for approximately 35 miles and is only has a few areas that are moderately difficult to bike (slight hills). It's a great place to start or end your day with a stroll down a place that offers some of the best views possible.
