If you like old archeological sites and a nice drive, See the ruins where the locals lived 900 years ago. Take time to walk up to the ruins... but there is no shade cover. Entry pass covers nearby Sunset Crater also, which is the remnants of a volcano that exploded 1000 years ... this is a 35 mile loop drive.

Right here in the east side of Flagstaff is a short easy way to see an archeological site that won’t take a big chunk out of your day.

Social and fun

Downtown is fun to walk around.... usually Music outside somewhere.....Wednesday night dance lessons at Heritage Square 7-10 pm. So much fun. You don’t have to bring a partner cause people are friendly to ask you for a dance In a fun old fashioned manner

Great outdoor experience

Fat mans loop for a decent workout. All the way to the top for the hardy hikers
This is a beautiful up and down hike thru the transition zone of Juniper/Pinions and Ponderos trees. It’s easy to get to, close to town just a bit beyond the mall.

A little slice of Nature close to Downtown... it’s a nice walk from the neighbor hoods northwest of downtown.... the urban trail passes thru this area, there are baseball fields, walking paths along the Rio de Flag, just pleasant neighbor hoods to get a feel for residential living in Flag. Good for bikes too.... why is there not a photo of this secret gem?

It’s a nice visit summer or winter. Certainly great views once you get up there... fantastic hikes off Snowbowl road, and some new activities I’ve heard mention of once you are there... above and beyond the chair lift ride.

Hiking ... zillions of places. I have a guidebook in the cabin... borrow and return it. Coming into the first stretch of uptown Sedona from 89S drive to the end of Jordan Road, you can find nice trails without getting into too much traffic if Sedona… but there are plenty of hikes throughout all ares of Sedona too.

A beautiful rendition of classic upscale Mexican old shopping center, In Sedona . Very fun window shopping or drop a few bucks on something you will love forever! There’s a women’s clothing shop upstairs in the back I’m crazy for.... I forget the name but it’s about the only clothing shop there... so much other artzie stuff to look at.

It’s the classic canyon trail that crosses the shallow creek bed a million times. Take good solid water sandals or sneakers... Beautiful! Crowded on weekends and holidays. Pay to park anywhere along Sedona trails. Go super early in the day to avoid crowds... maybe. in the fall you will pass an apple orchard, neglected but still tasty.

I love their beautiful walking trail which is accessible out the back door of my property... go up the drainagenext to the Guesthouse, follow the rock cairns 500 feet, take a right and in another 1000 feet you are on their wonderful trail system. ou can Stop in their bar/restaurant for a drink or meal and stroll on back. Make sure to watch for the subtle signs of my trail back once you start their trail.

this is less known than the popular Fat mans loop trail....and about a mile further out of town on 89N.... it lacks the up and down hills of Flatmans loop and has more oak and open spaces.
