California’s salt lake! Historical as well as amazing. The tuffas natural formations are a must see. The Mono Lake Museum is a well designed museum to learn about the lake, wildlife, and the volcanic activity in the area .

An one hour drive will take you to the back entrance gate of Yosemite (Tioga Pass closed November-April). Enjoy the sights on the way to the back entrance or continue on into the park. Please plan accordingly as Yosemite is a huge park with amenities far between. This is a trip in itself, so make sure you have timed your day accordingly. Gas up in Mammoth or Lee Vining. The next gas stop is Tuolumne Meadows (summer months only). The fall colors are a must see if you’re traveling through the park in October and November.
