Historic in the sense that the building used to be a Sara Lee test kitchen. A long Time Roswell fine dining restaurant. New owners over the last several years, but they have kept the menu and much of the staff. Bill the manager is top notch. This is Jeff and Mary’s date night place to go. Great for bigger groups. They take reservations and the do fill up fast. Just great service great food and yummy drinks. This is our go to fancy place to go. Not within walking distance. About 3 miles away. Free parking.

Best pizza in Roswell. And best authentic Italian. Small place. But take out is awesome. Pizza gets done quick. Not sure they take reservations, great wine selection. My brother lived in Naples Italy for years and he goes here two or three times a visit when he comes to Roswell. Limited parking. But I think they have valet parking across the street. We walk. It’s about half mile from cottage. Be sure to stroll through the historic grave yard on the way there or back!

Great place to sit outside and have a cocktail. They have live music often. Maybe an appetizer before you head further down to canton st for dinner or nightlife. They have brunch on weekends. Can almost throw a rock to this place from Mary’s cottage. About 2/10 of a mile of that. And interesting fact is this building used to be the funeral home and mortuary. I hear there is still a working coffin elevator in some part of the building

Best burger in town. Sorta reminds me of SNL soup kitchen guy. A real hole in the wall kinda place but great food and you see lots of locals there. I see the x mayor there all the time. Don’t expect anything fancy and not vegan friendly. Lol

Just discovered this place recently. You can get 1 to 5 oz pours of California wine. Nice to be able to try that $100 bottle of wine with out buying the whole bottle. They also sell wine by the bottle for you to take home. Reasonably priced and we like to shop local. They don’t serve food. But you can order from Plum Cafe or a couple other restaurants and they will bring to you at vin 25. They do have cheese and meats and crackers you can buy separately and they will make up a charcuterie tray for you. Check there hours. Not open super late. And they do have outdoor sweating in a courtyard too that is very nice. Off canton street and a gem of a place.

Great little nature center. Just added a zip line. They have concerts and other events going on All year round. Check out their website. Great for kids. Active nature center with many hands on exhibits and nature trail. Our grandson loves it.

Take a walk/bike on the river. You will see all the locals walking , running, pushing strollers. Cute dogs. Bike riding. Miles of trails and boardwalks along the River. You can walk here from cottage. Recommend route to go out of neighborhood down Marietta Hwy to the left. Then left on Willeo. This will take you to the edge of the trail. Can go left on azalea and will see the entrance to the board walk. Probably about 1 mile from Mary’s cottage to entrance of boardwalk. There is also parking on azalea dr. Walking fishing people watching.

If your a gardener. You will love Scottsdale farms. It is a large local garden center that has animals and a lovely lunch cafe. It’s fun to bring the children. They have a small playground and lots of farm animals to observe. To say the least of the huge barn they have full of wonderful designs for your home and gardens. We love to drive out there look around and “garden dream” and have a healthy lunch. It’s a nice drive through Alpharetta and Milton. Pass some beautiful homes and horse farms. I guess it’s about 10 miles from cottage.
