Bin 189 at the Lake Arrowhead Resort next to the Village (it’s definitely “fine dining” in Lake Arrowhead terms, with a huge wine selection and a lovely deck with forest/lake views. Inside, enjoy scenic lake views and creative cocktails, microbrews and wines by the glass served in front of a cozy stone fireplace. The rustic chic, birch paneled venue includes a bar complete with tree stumps, antler chandeliers and offers a variety of signature dishes, and custom cocktails for all occasions. The hotel has plenty of parking and nice ambiance. Be sure to try their tomato bisque!)

Walk the very nearby trail of San Bernardino Land Trust (the Will Abell Memorial Trail) There’s a dirt parking lot on Grass Valley Rd by flag poles, with a paved path leading up into the hills. It makes a long or short loop.

The trailhead is located right next to Camp Seely, in Crestline. The best time of day to do the Heart Rock hike is in the morning. You can pretty much have the trail to yourself. A majority of people go midday and it gets busy, especially on weekends. ***The biggest mistake that happens on the heart rock hike is people missing the heart rock trail It happens because the trail is basically unmarked. When you see the big logs, veer off to the right instead of going straight on the paved road. We walked back on the paved road this last time and I would guess that 75% of the people that go on this hike miss the actual Heart Rock Trail. Some people on the road miss the Heart Rock formation at the end. Whether you take the road or the trail, you can still get to the same place. But the trail is so much prettier with views of Seely Creek and the canyon’s beautiful rock walls. Get the most bang for your buck by walking on the the Heart Rock trail.

Snow Valley is a great mountain for the family. My boys actually love snowboarding here, they sometimes prefer it to Big Bear because its' less crowded (and more affordable)

Family Snow Tubing In The Forest Snowdrift Tubing Park is a great way to have family winter fun. It’s the oldest snow tubing park in Southern California where people of all ages can enjoy a frosty adventure. They offer snowy slopes for downhill rides on individual snow tubes designed with handles and a belly strap. There is beginner, intermediate, and advanced slopes, and they supply the tubes.
