Main attractions

In Budapest you can find lot of tourist attractions. Here I listed the must see sights.
Towering over the Danube, Castle Hill contains many of Budapest's most important medieval monuments and museums. The most spectacular of these impressive structures is the 18th-century Buda Castle This entire historic complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Like much of the city, Buda Castle is spectacularly illuminated at night, and the castle courtyards remain open 24 hours a day. You can reach the castle on the restored historic Castle Funicular Railway, which departs from the Buda end of the Chain Bridge. Chain Bridge is 500 m (5-10 min.by walk) far.

Around the corner. St. Stephen’s Basilica is the largest church in Budapest and can hold up to 8,500 people. Although in architectural terms it’s a cathedral, it was given the title of ‘basilica minor’ by Pope Pius XI in 1931. It took more than 50 years to build the Basilica. The square front of the Basilica is the home of the best Christmas Market in Budapest.

You can take M1 underground/metro from Deák Square to Hősök tere (Heroes Square). M1 is one of the oldest underground on the world. Part of Word Heritage. The impressive Heroes' Square (Hosök tere) was largely the work of architect Albert Schickedanz, who was also responsible for the huge Museum of Fine Arts that flanks this large open space. Highlights include the Millennium Monument, a 36-meter column crowned by a figure of the Archangel Gabriel and unveiled in the late 19th century. Around the plinth can be seen a group of bronze horsemen representing the conquering Magyar Prince Árpád and six of his fellow warriors. On either side of the column, colonnades extend in a semi-circle, and between the individual pillars stand statues of Hungarian rulers. Above the corner pillars are beautiful works in bronze by Zala. In front of the Millennium Monument stands a memorial to the Unknown Soldier

Ruin Bars and night life

Most of the the famous ruin bars are located in Király street and Kazinczy street. This area is the party district, where the pubs are all night very busy, and the night never ending. I would recommend you, to visit Szimpla kert at the day time to have a drink. At the afternoon you can feel much more from its special atmosphere. Even in Ráday street (district 9) you can find a lot of cosy bars and restaurant. This area is much calmer with less tourist. Here are the bars not open overnight.
