About an hour from the house just before you get to Seward make sure to stop at Exit Glacier. A 20-30 minute walk on a path will take you to thecae of the glacier. More interesting are the year post signs. They'll show you the history of the glacier receding and where the glacier was going back 50+ years!

Step back into Alaskan history and visit some of the original Russian Orthodox churches used by the areas original settlers. Ninichik is right off the highway and half way between Soldotna and Homer.

Stop for a minute to take some pics of the green mountain sides that more than likely will still have some winter snow new the tops. Averaging 5-10 feet of snow in the winter this area is a snow machiners' dream, but you can appreciate during warmer months.

For the more adventurist you can hike up and enjoy the natural beauty In the winter its draws down hill skiers from afar and is also home of Olympic downhill skier Tommy Mosley.
