This is one of my memorable place as I hangout in this island's small hut during my childhood days. A not so crowded tiny island(not really an island but a rock surrounded by white sand) located near the Roro port at Cordova. It has no entrance fee. Just have to pay the boat ride around 10 PHP per way to the island. But if you are up for an adventure you can also walk as the water is just shallow. Getting There : Ride a tricycle going to Alegria, Cordova. Php60 fare for the whole tricycle. From Alegria you can ride a boat at Php10 per person. Note: 1. The place is free. There are tables for rent where you can put your food and drinks. Tables cost only Php100. 2. Go there only during high tide. If you go during low tide you might be walking instead of swimming :) . 3. Bring more food and drinks since there are no shops around. There is a hut, a tree and the sea.

Around Cebu City

Experience the Lively and Historical Cebu City. But first and foremost , please note that taxi's should be on meter basis. Do not agree with contracted/fix price. Jeepney's minimum fare is only P8.00 . So, if you are travelling by jeepneys and only around the Cebu City the fare should be minimum. However, the Temple of Leah , Mountain View and Tops of Cebu are located on top of the mountain therefore the jeepney fare is above minimum but not more than Php20.00. The below website is a great help in getting around the city through public transportation: https://cebujeepneys.weebly.com Note : If you are in the SM Malls don't miss the "Foodcourt" .

This cross was planted by Ferdinand Magellan on 17th of March, 1521 when he baptized the first christian Filipinos, King Humabon and Queen Juana of Cebu. This is also to signify the propagation of the Roman Catholicism in the Philippines. The original cross is covered with another wooden cross for protection, as people were chipping it away in the belief that it had miraculous healing powers. This is located just beside the Santo Nino Church.

When you are at the top of this place you can see the best view of Cebu specially at night, when city lights turned into a sea of glittering stars. Surely an unforgettable and magical experience. You can also enjoy swimming at their infinity pool with a view of the city. To get to Mountain View Nature’s Park, is easy since there are various choices of vehicles you can choose, and the road is concrete and well-maintained. • MOUNTAIN VIEW’S TRANSPO: For only P400 good for 10 people per way (minimum of 10pax, additional P40 per extra person per way). Make sure to call the resort and book ahead. If you’re less than 10 people, try to arrange it with the resort so they can mix you with other guests. • JEEPNEY: The cheapest option, would only cost P15 per person. Ride a 04H jeepney from USC-Main, Capitol, Escario or Gorordo. Ask the driver to drop you off near the Mountain View road. Then walk for about 1-2 kilometers going to Mountain View. Navigate through Google Maps/Waze, or ask around for directions. The road is steep, but a little bit of hiking can be fun and healthy. • HABAL-HABAL: Ride a motorbike (max of 2 persons per bike), near or surrounding from JY Square Mall in Lahug. It would cost only P100 per head per way – 150 for 2 people. You may need to pay more and schedule ahead if you want a ride back from the city. • TAXI/UBER/GRABCAR: Max of 4 persons only per car. Some drivers might be okay with it, some are not. Some might ask for more, so be understanding and negotiate well since the road is a bit steep. Estimated cost is P150 per way from the city (Ayala Center). QUICK FACTS: 1. The activity site is situated in Brgy. Tan-awan in the town of Oslob, a remote part of Cebu that is 3-4 hours away from the city or 4-5 hours drive from Mactan Airport. 2. Diving and snorkeling are limited in time and people, and done by batch. Each batch has 30 minutes to watch or swim with the whale sharks. Prior to that, there is an informative talk and presentation about the Whale Sharks and STRICT RULES to be observed during the activity. 3. All the Whale Sharks at the Oslob Whale Shark Snorkel tour are wild animals and come and go as they please. The floats you see on the surface are merely marking the area for motorized boats to stay away. 4. All the boats used in the activity, at the feeding area, are paddled using wooden oars — leaving no harmful chemicals unlike boat propellers. 5. There are marine biologists in the area monitoring the water activity. Images are taken each day in water and using astrological mapping – map the whale shark spots. 6. The Whale Shark Watching tour provides many benefits including, but not limited to, providing a larger source of income and employment to a town that historically has a high unemployment rate and also a knock-on effect for the entire economy of Cebu. It encourages the local and foreign visitors alike to advocate in the preservation of the Whale Sharks and minimizes the fishing of these gentle giants in many countries. How to get there? (It is advisable to visit only on weekdays and early in the morning as the place is usually very crowded in the middle of the day) BY BUS: From the South Bus Terminal (near Emall), ride a Ceres bus going to “Bato-Oslob”. All buses bound for Oslob operate 24/7. Bus fare is ~₱155 /head (one-way). Inform the driver to drop you off at the main Whale Shark activity site. BY CAR: Road trips are fun, especially if you’re going south. Make sure to navigate via Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to “Oslob Whale Shark Watching”.
