They are known for their local organic ingredients, it's also a great place for coffee or deserts. I personally love their beef steak salad and their flourless chocolate cake or lemon tart.

Dinner with a view! If you plan on taking a drive up to see the Matanuska Glacier the Long Rifle Lodge has wonderful food, burgers and fries, salads but the fun is in the scenery and the Alaskan decor they have.

You can drive from the Palmer side of Hatcher's Pass over the mountains and end up in the Willow side. I'd say it can be a 4-5 hour drive or an all day trip. Tour the old mine up top or hike around and explore anywhere along the road. It's breathtaking. It's almost like being in the Dinosaur movies or Lord of the Rings when up in the mountains.
