Named after the nearby town of Wendover, the woods are part of the Public Forest Estate and are managed by Forestry England. Covering 325 ha, the woods are a mixture of coniferous and broadleaved trees. It offers fantastic walks, Cycle trails, picnic areas, play areas, GO APE.

Aston Hill Bike Park is a mountain bike venue situated just outside Wendover in the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty.The park features five graded downhill (DH) runs, a two-part cross country (XC) loop, a pump track and a 4X track.
Aston Hill is a great venue for riders of all ages and abilities with something to challenge everyone – both cross-country and downhill beginner riders can improve here very quickly using the lower graded runs and the top section of the XC loop – but the chalk and clay soil base make it more suited to competent riders during the winter months.

Surrounded by pretty thatched cottages on the brow of the hill close to Wendover Station this Grade II listed 18th century Chilterns inn is a perfect venue to combine a relaxing pub lunch and a day out in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. Wendover is a small market town dating back to the 10th century. The Shoulder of Mutton plays an important part in the legendary Coombe Hill Run as the official starting point for this annual event which takes place on the first Sunday in June. Coombe Hill at 852 feet above sea level is the highest viewpoint in a range of hills called the Chilterns.
The 106 acres of the hill once belonged to the Chequers Estate but was handed to the National Trust in 1918 by Lord and Lady Lee of Fareham, the same time the Chequers House was handed to the country as a retreat for the serving prime minister.
You get extensive views over the Aylesbury Vale and on a clear day you can see all the way to the Cotswolds. The view point is marked with a monument (not NT) dedicated to the men from Buckinghamshire who gave their lives in the Boer War.
