Where the locals go. Locally roasted fair trade coffee from Central and South America. Spacious, colorful neighborhood institution. Its name is a tribute to Wonderland Park, the amusement park that came and went back when the Longfellow neighborhood was a faraway place at the end of the streetcar line.

The day you have your first Jucy Lucy at Matt's Bar will be the day you fall in love with Minneapolis. This is where the best burger was built: hot melted cheese in the middle of the patty. Even President Obama couldn't resist the Jucy Lucy when he came to our neighborhood in 2014.

Sightseeing

Yes, it's the mothership, the largest Mall in the USA. No better place to see Minnesotans in their natural environment. Also, there are stores, movie theaters, an aquarium, restaurants and bars. Did you know Minnesota invented the indoor mall? Minnesota's knack for retail innovation produced Best Buy, Target, and the place where Mr. Richard Sears started it all (see Midtown Exchange description).

The walking and biking lake path where Mary Tyler Moore swung her arms in the opening credits four decades ago. Still the best, most Minneapolis thing you can possibly do, and second only to Mall of America in annual visitors. Pack your walking shoes and go around the lake. Winter, spring, summer or fall, you won't regret it. Lake Bde Maka Ska is 3 miles, Lake of the Isles 2.6. Head to Barbette after for a romantic toast.
