Food Scene

The town pizzeria. Great pizza, my favorites are the Funghi (mushroom) and the Buffalina (buffalo mozzarella). Owned by the always happy Orazio and Laura. Tell them that we say hello! Closed Mondays.

My favorite local restaurant. The owners name is Andreas. If you like steak, try the Filetto All'Alpina. All the deserts are good, Torta Della Nonna is one of the best.

A marina and beach, and its mountains of marble, which have shaped its history. Visit the Museo Civico di Marmo (museum for marble). Carrara is small but stately with remains of a princes's castle.

Arts & Culture

The pottery store in Montopoli Val D'Arno is modest but genuine. It is an example of centuries-old crafts still done in our local area. Artisanal pottery has for centuries been a specialty locally.
