Great park with rock climbing wall, trails, etc. Very convenient to apartment using "back road" named Riverland Drive. $2 per person admission. Shaded walking/biking trails. Watch egrets feeding on crabs.
Really great Christmas light display over the holidays with a Christmas gift shop, huge marshmallows to roast over large fire pits and a large sand sculpture created each year. Admission is usually $15 per car for this but really quaint and fun!

Bohicket Marina is located on Island about 40 minutes from the apartment. The views are great, especially at sunset. Local is a good place to get a snack and have a cocktail. Go to the marina, turn left and go to the end of the dock to watch a superb sunset.

King Street in downtown Charleston is always nice and there are tons of places to shop, eat and just "people watch."
On Johns Island very near the turn to head out to Kiawah Island. This is a shopping area with a grocery store and a great wine bar. Visit before or after the sunset at Bohicket Marina.
