Quite simply, Seagrove and the uniquely named hamlets which surround it in rural Randolph County are the perfect place for anyone interested in pottery. Far from being a mere collection of shops, Seagrove actually refers to a region of artisans that has made the area one of the nation’s largest communities of potters. Part of Seagrove’s allure lies in its singular history and high concentration of potters. The other part, especially for the uninitiated, lies in the experience itself.

Pisgah Covered Bridge was originally built in 1911, for a sum of about 40 USD. It is one of only two remaining covered bridges in North Carolina. The bridge is within the Uwharrie National Forest, crossing 54 feet (16.5 meters) over the West Fork Branch of the Little River. It is historic, beautiful and a connection to the past when automobile travel was just beginning and horse and buggy were the most common form of travel. It is a beautiful place to walk and admire.

Sunset Theatre was built in the Spanish style that was very popular in Hollywood at that time, with beamed ceilings, stucco walls and an awning with a tile roof. A marquee was added in the early 1930s. A second marquee replace the first in the early 1940s. The theater continued as a first run facility until the early 1970s. It then turned into a second run theater and was named "The Flick" for a short time before being renamed the Sunset Theater.
