Parks & Nature

Catch the water taxi across to Punga Cove Resort (10 mins) and then walk back to The Pines. It’s a relatively easy walk with some up and down. Punga Cove Resort has a café where you can kick-start your walk with a coffee.

Rimu Tree Viewing Platform: Just before Furneaux Lodge you’ll see a sign to the Rimu Tree Look out (a 2-3 minute walk up hill from the sign). The tree is one of the largest in the South Island (in terms of diameter) and is located in Howden’s Bush, an area of virgin bush. Note: there is no view of the Inlet from the rimu platform.
