Restaurants and Cafes

In South Boston
When guests arrive from a long day of travel, they're typically ready for a good beer or cocktail and something to eat. I always recommend Local 149 which is conveniently located right around the corner from my house. It has a friendly and urban atmosphere while being nestled into a residential neighborhood. It's a great intro to Southie and start to your getaway.

Parks & Nature

From my place, walk just a few blocks to the Harborwalk. Turn left and follow it for a lovely walk, run or bike ride along the Boston Harbor. On the 2.3 mile loop, you'll experience Castle Island on which sits an historic Fort. You'll have have views of the city as well as planes flying in and out of Logan airport, just across the harbor.

Arts & Culture

The ICA sits on the Boston Harbor and is a great museum to check out while in town. The architecture is worth experiencing, along with the water views and world class exhibits. And it's small enough to visit for an hour or so.
