One of the most famous soul food spots in the city. Best collard greens around. Gets super busy after church on Sundays, so try and go early or on an off hour.

Yummy "modern" soul food. I particularly like brunch--they have great blueberry pancakes--but it can get very busy and crowded. They don't take reservations for parties under 4 people so it's good to get there when they open for brunch. Dinner is a little easier to get a seat.

Everyone is crazy for red velvet cake, and I didn't get it until I tried theirs. BEST EVER. It's all about the frosting and the nuts. (There's also a nut-free option.)

Don't get me wrong, the food here is EXCELLENT as they use all fresh, homemade pasta, but their drinks are really the draw for me. Lots of fresh herbs and interesting flavors like a margarita with cilantro. Very cool brunch scene too.
