1 hr 8 mins away - Honeymoon Island & Caladesi Beach (a kayak or short ferry ride from honeymoon) is where the locals go to the beach because it's not as commercial as Clearwater. There is a small food place and the occasional food truck. The shells you see at the chateau have all come from Honeymoon! One time we came home with over 50 sand dollars in one haul! We've watched stingrays and dolphins jump out of the water. Checked out other live marine life. I've had a small (3-4') Bonnethead Shark swim right past me when I was in knee-deep water. So cool!

1 h 15 mins away - Clearwater Beach is the first beach most think of when they think of Florida. It has the shopping and restaurants right across the street from the beach. In the height of vacation season be sure to get there early to claim your spot - it gets crowded. Set up your "camp" and grab a delicious breakfast from one of the restaurants across the street.

Parks & Nature

9 mins away - When the weather is cool, the manatees head for warmer waters. We took our maiden voyage on our first Christmas Eve after moving to Florida and hung out at "Hospital Hole" peacefully watching a mama-tee & her two babies. It was amazing! You can rent kayaks or bring your own!

9 mins away -The town formerly known as Weeki Wachee is the home of live mermaids! And the state park is the place to go to see them. Did you know that the mermaids actually perform in the Weeki Wachee Spring? Did you also know, that before the park had the capability to "pump sound" into the spring, they had special hand signals to let the mermaids know when dangerous marine life was close by...ie, a gator. Yep, true story!

24 mins away -The cooler months you are almost guaranteed to see manatee in the springs. The unique thing at Ellie Schillers is they have all kinds of wildlife. It isn't a zoo, but rather a preserve and you can take boat tours from one side of the park to the other where your guide will tell you a little bit about the beautiful spring.

Food & Grocery Gettin

3 mins away - Not even two miles away (close to the Dollar General) is this awesome BBQ truck we stumbled upon. We highly recommend their smoked amberjack and salmon fish dip and their loaded mac & cheese (next level)! Their sauces are sweet, but not as sweet as the people who are dishing out these delicious eats!
