Sightseeing

The best thing to do is park in the town( there’s a good carpark behind St Johns Church or behind the PO. ) then walk up to the Tor, as you cannot park anywhere close to Glastonbury Tor.

Great for the Cathedral, Bishops Palace, Vicars Close, and looking around the historical city. The best car parks are by the bus station/ or Tesco’s ( if you’re only wanting 2 hrs!)

The high street has various little paths that lead down to the river ( The Backs), great to wander down and try the stepping stones over the river. Hauser and Worth Gallery is a short walk up the Wincanton road

Great beaches at Seatown, ( fossil hunting) Burton Bradstock or Branscombe. Drive down to Lyme Regis Cob and park in the CP on the right of the marina. Great walks on the beach( lots of fossils ) along the cob or walk back into the main town along the front.

Neighbourhoods

The village is great to walk around and there is a historic Heritage Walk that takes you to all the old interesting buildings. ( There’s a map on the book shelf). There is the Mendip Ring Walk that starts from the kissing gate opposite. The Polden Way is just up the Lane, plus many more beautiful walks on the footpaths around the local villages. Guests can walk on our land and enjoy some wonderfully tranquil spots by the Cedar Walk, River or by the Oak trees
