Downtown Asheville area but on the river: favorite spot. Love the sauce on the shrimp taco (but I sub jackfruit for the shrimp). Love the desserts. Love being outside by the river.

South Asheville: My husband's/son's birthday request is the Prime Rib Sandwich. This is only on the lunch menu but they will usually make it at dinner if you ask. I love the veggie burger+quinoa salad and a Blueberry Mule. Catch a movie next door or stroll the shops of Biltmore Park. Visit Lake Julian if you have kids for duck watching and playground time.

Downtown Asheville: ""Rosetta’s Kitchen has stuck to its roots since it opened in 2002, serving affordably priced vegan and vegetarian soul food to a loyal following of locals and inquisitive visitors out of its colorful, mellow-vibed dining room. The veggie burger and peanut butter-baked tofu are legendary, or try the Buddha Bowl, which manages to feel both healthy and indulgent with its tumble of rice, smoky tofu, avocado, greens, and more (add the house-cultured kimchi for kick). Rosetta’s downstairs sister business, Buchi Bar, has locally made Buchi kombucha on draft plus cocktails, mocktails, local beer, ciders, meads, and house-made sodas.""
