This is one of my favorites that I still frequently visit in the area. The well itself is massive, and you are able to walk most of the perimeter above it, as well as follow a trail down below. There is also a nice trail that will take you to where the well water meets the river. Great 1/2 day adventure, beautiful scenery, interesting facts about the well and very close to Camp Verde. 8 miles away in Rimrock, AZ

The market is located under the ramada next to Fort Verde State Historical Park on Hollamon Street. This is an old-fashioned farmers market that focuses on homegrown produce and food products, and it attracts dozens of local vendors. 7.7 Mile one way hike with beautiful views, creek access that runs parallel most of the way. One of the most visited and scenic trails in the area. The primary trail is used to access Wet Beaver Creek Canyon & Wilderness. One of the most unique and beautiful part of the Creek offers miles of gorgeous water features and secluded, crystal clear swimming holes. Waterfall Trail is the most popular area at Fossil Creek. The one-mile trail follows the creek to a natural waterfall. 25 Miles away and the last 18 mile drive is pretty rough on a "washboard" type of dirt road so definitely take an SUV. You won't be disappointed! Requires a Permit April 1-October 1. https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coconino/recarea/?recid=55272
