写真などでよく見かける「清水の舞台」と呼ばれる所は本堂にあたる場所で「清水の舞台から飛び降りる」という言葉が残っているくらい高い場所にある建築物ですからそこからは京都の町並みを見下ろす事ができる絶景ポイントという事で多くの観光客が訪れるスポットです。 境内に、地主神社も隣接しており、恋愛の祈願に多くの人が訪れる。
