Sightseeing
Two pubs, a Tea shop, Sailing Club, RNLI Shop & a great walk through the village along the waterfront and then through the woods finishing at Rockcliffe. When you arrive at Rockcliffe there are clean toilets and normally an ice-cream van. Rockcliffe has a great beach with rockpools and sand.
Before you leave the shell beach at Kippford IF the tide is out you can walk the causeway to Rough Island. NB not in bird breeding season and be very wary of the tide too!!!

Another great beach. Toilets and a shop/cafe. Unless you are lucky enough to get a free space, car parking is £4.50

This is a very unique little place, with a small dock area which includes some interesting sea faring vessels. There is a great walk at the far end, where you can look over the water towards Kippford. There is also a pub, which usually serves food.

Also plenty of maps and local guide books, please be sure to not take them home with you.
JUST SOME TIPS regarding peculiarities:
The gas fire ignition is quite stiff it normally takes a couple of turns in quick succession.
If its cold there is a fabulous new electric blanket on the double bed, I fully recommend turning on an hour before bed and turning off once bedtime has arrived. For the twin beds there are 2 hot water bottles under the sink.
PLEASE be very careful the handles on the saucepans can get VERY HOT!!!
The TV is hooked up to Netflix, please select "Guest". If you use the internet access it can be slow due to this beautiful location.
There is a brand new set of barbecue tools in a case on top of the fridge freezer, please return to case after use.
The shower is really good (in my opinion!!) Please turn hot tap on full with the shower head pointed into the side and then a 1/4 turn of the cold should make for a great temperature (always a good idea not to run any other taps whilst the shower is running)
There is a Car Radio just inside the living area on the left with surround sound, it does have a will of its own but great when its behaving.
For a more contemporary sound solution there is a Marley blue tooth speaker on the mantlepiece.
There are plenty of USB points in the trailing plug on the living room area windowsill.
If you forget towels there are plenty of spares in the bedroom wardrobe, if you need to use please put in a black bag at the end of your stay.
Please keep/leave basic supplies topped up for next guest.
