Breakfast- If you want a quick doughnut - Burney's Bakery has croissants with chocolate, buttercream....all kinds of flavors......you have to try these they are amazing. I haven't tried anything else in there because these are so good. It is on Howe (the Main street)

On Howe as well and they are totally amazing. Like home cooked food. I have only tired breakfast 2 times and I order so much food I can not help myself.

Barbecue and it's really good. If you do not like southern barbecue sauce ask for the kind that is thicker. You have to ask for it or they do not give it to you.

The USS North Carolina is located across the river from the boardwalk but I suggest you do not go there on a hot day.....make it a cooler visit. That boat gets really hot.

That is a very nice park with beautiful flowers and trees. Try to go on a cooler morning or later in the evening if they are open. Beautiful and lots of movies shot here.

Southport, NC is a historic town with waterfront shops and restaurants. Several movies were filmed in the area. Downtown Wilmington is only 30 minutes away, Oak Island is 15 minutes away and a short 5 minute drive will take you to a ferry where you can go explore Bald Head Island for a day. There are many beaches within the area that are just a short distance away!

Getting around
There is so much to do around the area.
We did a boat ride in the river area and they spoke about the history of Southport.
We did a boat ride over to Bald Head Island. Then rented a golf cart. You can go downtown shopping and shopping and shopping...lots of shops and eating eating and eating. That's mostly what I do...lol.
We rented a golf cart and bicycles in Southport too.
