Built in 1930, the Sunken Gardens are one of the best things to do in Lincoln and are completely free to enter. There are visiting hours to adhere to, but parking nearby is free and this makes a great day out.

The Nebraska State Capitol is the head of the Nebraska government and one of the most important attractions in downtown Lincoln. It stands at about 400 feet tall and can be seen from almost 20 miles away. It was designed by a New York architect and completed by 1932. Visitors can sign up for tours.

Head downtown on Saturday mornings (through mid-October) for some music, food, and local shopping! There are plenty of parking options downtown and this is a short drive from the house. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance too.

This farmer's market is very food driven. Walking distance to The Mill Coffee Shop, a Goldenrod Pastries and some unique local shops.

Marcus Theaters has several locations but this one in the SouthPointe Mall is our favorite. Every Tuesday, all theaters have discounted movie tickets (around $6 general admission). BONUS...recliner seats.

Omaha is a 45 minute drive from Lincoln. This zoo ranked in the top 5 for World's Best Zoos. You can easily spend an entire day at this zoo. Lots to see!
