Sightseeing

Short walk to the Rails to Trails Trail that is about 1.5 km to the head of the Bluff Trail, an increasingly popular easy to moderate hike that has loops of 10km to 26 km. Best thing to do is either walk through the woods from our BnB (marking of the trail is underway, but not complete yet), or park just down the hill adjacent to the trail as the actual trail parking lot is usually full. The house manual in the lodge will give a map and better detail as to how to get there.

A short drive past Peggy's Cove, much less populated but I nice hike to get away from the crowds.

Food scene

About a 10 minute drive from our AirBnB on Saint Margaret's Bay Road, just past the crossroads to where you would turn onto Peggy's Cove Road that would take you to Peggy's Cove. This little cafe and bike rental shop is a local favourite for their fabulous coffee, decent food and local art for sale adorning the walls. Small patios in front and back, and a large area of picnic tables where you can also grab a beer after your bike ride on the Rails to Trails that runs from Halifax all the way to Yarmouth. Basically a flat trail that has some spectacular views and a bike ride would allow you to see then from a different perspective.

One of our favourite restaurants in the city. Situated in a neighbourhood setting, away from the busy downtown area, ever changing menu has never let us down!

THE best homemade pies you will ever eat, this little local market is a short drive from the AirBnB, but get there early as the pies sell out fast! It is a great market for local wares and good daily deals too!
