Amazing cheap Thai BYO restaurant with huge portions. You can't really book so get there early as there's always a queue. A Bondi institution!

Lively local pub with a dance floor upstairs and a sunny beer garden. Always busy on the weekend and in the week, especially if there's a sports game on.

If there’s one thing Aussies love, it’s bowls. This bowlo is just a couple of minutes down the road and always has a pumping crowd on the weekend, especially Sunday afternoons when they sometimes have a DJ.

This is the nearest supermarket, there are a few smaller grocery stores closer but they tend to be overpriced with little choice. About an 8 minute walk towards the beach and will have most of what you need for your stay. You can buy alcohol from BWS next door (being from the UK I found the fact you can only buy alcohol from licensed shops very strange). Also try Scoop Wholefoods next door - amazing selection of healthy foods and treats.

City advice

Getting around

Bus to main sights

The 379 bus goes from outside Piadina on Glenayr Avenue to Bondi Junction. From here you can get the train to the city or change at Central for other lines. Alternatively the 333 bus goes from the beach through Bondi Junction and into the city.
Getting around

Citymapper App

I swear by the app Citymapper to get anywhere in Sydney. It’s great for real time transport timings and instructions
Getting around

Transport payment

You can either use a contactless card on the bus and trains or buy a top up travel card called an Opal Card from Woolworths. Buses and trains are all cash free so you will need to use one of the above
Getting around

Taxi app

13 Cabs is the main taxi firm in Sydney but in my opinion they’re overpriced and run down. I usually use Uber or Ola to get around
