Food

I love starting my day off with breakfast from Vertical Diner. The blueberry pancakes are my favorite item on the menu. These pancakes are so popular you can now buy the mix to go. Yay! Somebody read my feedback card!

These doughnuts are truly works of art that taste phenomenal. You simply have to buy at least one doughnut maybe two during your stay.

This is a local vegan ice cream parlor. It’s perfect for dates, family activities, or two scoops for one! They make new flavors every few weeks, always use the freshest ingredients, and are located at Galivan Plaza. Take the green or blue train north and walk back to the house!

Gay Bar

Tryangles is my favorite neighborhood gay bar. The bar is attended by mostly men in their 30s and 40s. The aesthetic could be described as blue collar unlike the majority of the establishments on the street where attention to every detail was planned carefully by the architects, artists, and designers. Theme nights will generally pull in a different crowd / vibe. Regardless of the night strike up a conversation and the odds are you will make a new friend. Tryangles is the kind of place where you think of the staff as your friends and the patio as an extension your backyard.

Sightseeing

The gardens outside the Temple are truly stunning. The architecture is really special. What Salt Lake City means to The Mormons is like what the Vatican, Rome means to the Catholics.
