Most beautiful garden. Home to master of the colourful garden and famous for his meadow pastures, the late Christopher Lloyd..... definitely worth going inside to see (just about) the biggest vaulted hall in England

Home to artists Duncan Grant & Vanessa Bell (sister of Virginia Wolf) and the beating heart of The Bloomsbury Set. Every surface of the house is painted and house tours run throughout the day limited to 10/half hourly. The charming garden is wonderfully English with foxgloves to my shoulders! Imperative to read up about it pre-visit - coffee table book on site - it's my all time favourite summer destination. ENJOY

Sightseeing

Quintessentially British village overlooking Rye Bay kept immaculately by residents (we call it Gods waiting room). There are smugglers tunnels connecting Winchelsea to Rye. and our very own Sandhurst resident Alex Preston has just published a wonderful book based on fact, called WINCHELSEA which is a must read
