Historical

Come to see the monument of Jumbo, it is historical and you can take lot's of photos of the monument. THE ELGIN MILITARY MUSEUM The Elgin Military Museum is a private not for profit museum which was created by local veterans from all the services to collect, record, preserve, interpret and exhibit items of military history. The emphasis is on Elgin County and its citizens, and the role they have played in Canadian military history from the founding of the Talbot Settlement to today. EMM is a local museum only in the strictest sense of the term. The scope is global and includes Lance Corporal Ellis W. Sifton from Dutton, who won the Victoria Cross at Vimy Ridge; General E.L.M. Burns, who grew up in St. Thomas and became Commander (1956-59) of the first United Nations Emergency Force, and Rear Admiral Kenneth J. Summers from St. Thomas who Commanded the Canadian Forces in the Coalition of the Gulf War. Our Patron is Andrew Douglas Alexander Thomas Bruce, 11th Earl of Elgin, 15th Earl of Kincardine, KT, CD
