Alex ne pouvait pas être la pour nous accueillir, il confie cette tâche a un ami, Manolis qui nous réservé un accueil chaleureux et s'est assuré tout le long du séjour que nous ne manquions de rien. La maison est idéale le cadre enchanteur. Les plages a proximités paradisiaques. Le point de départ idéal pour découvrir cette magnifique région. Alex nous a indiqué les bons endroits ou bien manger. Bref un séjour de rêve et une rencontre inoubliable avec Manolis.

La casa di Alexandros a Zakros è semplicemente meravigliosa! A 10 minuti a piedi dal paesino di Zakros, immersa nel paesaggio magico e brullo della zona, tra ulivi e terra rossa! A pochi km dalle meravigliose spiagge di Xerocampos e dalle bellissime e buonissime taverne sul mare di Kato Zakros. La casa è di pietra con un cortile attrezzato per mangiare, leggere, riposare e prendere il sole o contemplare i meravigliosi cieli stellati. La casa è bella, accogliente, super attrezzata e comoda. Se vi piacciono i posti tranquilli amerete questa casa e i posti intorno e le persone del luogo. Noi sette abbiamo trascorso una vacanza bellissima in questa casa e in questo angolo un po' sperduto di terra cretese e ci abbiamo lasciato un po' di cuore.

La casa de Yannis es maravillosa, ha sido el mejor lugar que hemos estado en Creta, sobre todo si buscas un lugar apartado, con mucho calor y sin otra cosa que hacer que nadar.

We had a lovely holydays at Villa Katerina! house is very clean, bright and comfortable, well-equipped with everything you need for life! we had a couple of lovely evenings with barbecue, all that is necessary for it also provided by the owner. Beautiful sea view from the terrace and from the roof, where you can climb the stairs from the garden. Figs, lemon tree, rosemary and other plants are growing in the garden. Many thanks to the owner Katerina, she is nice, friendly, charming woman, embodying all the hospitality of Crete! We are grateful for the warm welcome. If you don't mind to get to the beach by car (a few minutes), this place is perfect! It is a convenient point in the destinations of eastern Crete, nearby Sitia - a city with a beautiful waterfront and great beach, not touristy as other cities of Crete, located to the west. Once again, thank you so much Katherina!

Katerina's house is the perfect place to feel at home. She arranged everything so lovely as if it's her place to live. We spend three days in Agia Fotia, which is a good point to start exploring the South and the area around Vai. You find some supermarkets in the next city, Sitia, which is not far away. And you only cross the street to the beach. In the house is everything to cook and barbecue, to wash and to go to the beach. Even if you recognize, that you have forgotten something, Katerina will help you or you find it in some of the closets. (Thank you for the diving goggles!) Katerina is the perfect host. She gave us some good advices finding hidden beaches. She comes every morning to water her beautiful garden, but don't think this will effect you. She is caring and respects your privacy - and leaves fresh figs from the garden on your table. Thank you so much, Katerina.

4 of us stayed at Katerinas house in July16 and it was amazing. The house is like the photos, only that you feel even more at home when you are there, with great small handmade details, fully equipment and you can have a great BBQ as well. Katerina is a beautiful bubbly happy energy who helped us with all we needed and even more. At my stay in Crete i think it was the best house i stayed. There is nothing to do in Agia Fotia, but its literally 3 mins in the car to Sitia or you can walk it 20-25 mins. At night you can get a taxi for 6euros. You deffo need a car to go around the beaches on north, south and east coast. I definatelly recommend the house though!!! 10/10!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Katerina’s place. It is just outside Sitia. We are a family of four and we appreciated the space that place her place provided. We were only in town for a couple of nights and did not go to the beach that is a short walking distance from the house. However, we did the 30mins drive to Erimoupolis beach (just north of Vai beach) and had an incredible time. Katerina’s place is an ideal place to stay and explore Eastern Crete from. Katerina is a fantastic host – she drove and met us when we got turned around on our way to her place. Katerina is super friendly and a great host. We definitely recommend her place.

Katerina was a wonderful host and very patient with us even as we arrived late at night! The house is super cute and spacious - highly recommended to any traveler!

We spent 2 days in this comfortable house with our 2 kids (3 and 6 years old). Everyone enjoyed the house a lot. Katerina is very nice. She gave us some advises on the beaches and hike in the region. She let some fruits and water for us. Also, towels and umbrellas for the beach were available.

Katerina made us very welcome , even waiting on the path outside with some of her friends to make sure we didn't miss the house. The photos in fact don't do justice to the house, it's better than it appears, with a spacious garden that Katerina keeps well in shape ! It was obvious to us the moment we entered the property that this was not just a holiday house -- it's a Home that Katerina takes care of with great love. We felt privileged and delighted to have found this place for our holiday. We are at an age when quiteness and easy access is important, and even though this is located on the main road to Paleocastro, about 10 mins drive from Sitia, it is ideally positioned to visit the many interesting places in east Crete. The house has a very nice open area to the front , facing the sea, and an equally nice little sun trap to the rear to catch the afternoon rays. Plenty comfortable chairs provided. You could have a very nice break without ever leaving this house ! Katerina is a mine of information about this end of Crete, as much or as little info you need is available. Dionosyis family Tavern just three minutes drive away is well worth a visit any time of day, for good Cretan food and service. Another Cretan jewel is To Steki, a restaurant in the middle of town, the real deal as far as a Cretan experience comes : an old establishment mostly serving locals, - and criminally inexpensive ! If you are into cheese, ask for "Seegala" -( phonetic name) -it's a local mild goats cream cheese peculiar to Sitia, and its beautiful . There are some really nice churches around here, well worth a visit and a prayer, if you are into that sort of thing. Katerina has some good ideas for walks in the area and if your joints are in good shape ( unlike mine), then you can take to the hills with abandon. Looking forward to a return visit.

Our host had given us very clear directions so we were able to find the house easily and arrived as planned. He was waiting for us and showed us a map of the local area, pointing out walks and beaches we could visit. He was also available on site should we have any issues (we didn't!). The house was quaint and cosy with an olde worlde feel inside but with all mod cons - it felt like being in a traditional Cretan house. We really appreciated the three outside seating areas, you could enjoy sun or shade and it had a lovely rural feel amidst the olive trees and vines of the small estate. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, not a single plane overhead. We very much appreciated the welcome pack. It was well situated to visit the eastern part of Crete and 5 minutes drive to Sitia which had lots of fine restaurants (the food in this area is fantastic!) and a good beach. No hesitation in recommending Bougainvillea.

We really loved the house, the hosting and the location. The house is simply fantastic. Relaxing, clean, windy just enough to have optimum temperature in the nights. All comforts (and even more) are there. Two beautiful shady open spaces, one in front and one on the back, allow to spend time reading, eating or just relaxing outside. The location is perfect. Just outside from Sitia, far from the noise, but not too much and in few minutes wonderful beaches are reachable: Chiona, Vai, Ithanos. The man managing the house was always very happy in advising us the right place to go for a beautiful excursion or for a good dinner or providing us some good tomato from its garden. We are very happy. Nothing really went wrong.

A wonderful place to explore and relax in! Surrounded by beautiful flowers and olive trees, the villa and Pantelis's family made us feel very at home from the moment we arrived. The villa provided a wonderful base to explore the less touristy east coast from as well as brilliant haven to relax and soak up the sun.The surrounding gardens scented the evening air, Kate's cake was so delicious that I even saved a piece to return to London with for my husband. The extra treat was that we even got to leave with some of Pantelis's fathers homemade olive oil - amazing. Thank you all for all your effort and kind hospitality, making the villa feel like a home form home.

Pantelis was very helpful already before our arrival. His father took care of us on site and supported is extraordonary well and explained everything to us. The property is supernice and our accomodation.. perfect! Unfortunately.. Nothing to complain about :-). Just as a remark - You definitely need a car, since it is a remote place and the beaches are a 10 to 20 minutes drive. Absolutely recommendet!!!

Nous sommes satisfaits de notre séjour, le logement était conforme à nos attentes, le mobilier est de qualité et un superbe jardin fleuri. les propriétaires sont charmants, dommage que notre anglais soit trop primaire ce qui a rendu les échanges moins faciles la propriété est à moins de 4 km de la ville de Sitia et les plus belles plages sont à une vingtaine de minutes, une voiture est indispensable. Encore merci pour votre accueil et vos cadeaux de bienvenue (vin, gâteau, fruits, huile d'olive du jardin).

Cet endroit est un petit paradis! Le propriétaire nous a accueilli avec une bouteille de vin et du raisin du jardin, la maison est superbement décorée et c'est très calme Le jardin est magnifique et on peut cueillir des figues, des grenades et du raisin a envie. La ville de Sitia est à 10 minutes en voiture et les plages de la côte Est sont à 15 - 20 minutes Nous avons passé une semaine parfaite! Petit nota bene pour le Resto Dyonisos a 5 minutes de la maison qui fait de la tres bonne cuisine avec un super espace de jeu pour les enfants

Can't be a more diligent pleasant and helpful host than Iasonas. Very kind person really. The little studio was perfect, functional and clean, a small terrace oriented east where you can have your breakfast in the sun and the bedroom with a window on the west side.

Super host!nice and friendly: they involved us in the local life suggesting the best and hided beach of the area. I would really recomand you to go there! they even prepare for us some amazing biscuites!!

The apartment is exactly as it appears in the pictures: attention to details, cosy, functional, quiet. We've been there for 5 days and it was an exellent start point to explore the east of the island (Vai, Chiona, Xerocambos and other wonderful beaches). The hosts welcomed us really warmly and then suggestions helped us in experiencing the region. Absolutelly reccommended! ------------ La casa è esattamente come appare nelle fotografie: curata, accogliente, funzionale e tranquilla. Vi abbiamo soggiornato 5 giorni ed è stato un ottimo punto di partenza per esplorare l'est dell'isola (Vai, Chiona, Xerocambos e altre magnifiche spiagge). I proprietari di casa ci hanno accolto con calore e con i loro consigli ci hanno aiutato nel conoscere la zona. Assolutamente consigliata!

Το διαμέρισμα ήταν πολύ καλό και καθαρό , πλήρως εξοπλισμένο .Το μέρος είναι σε στρατηγική θέση κοντά στο Βάι μόνο 10 km και σε πολλές όμορφες παραλίες.,Είναι ανάμεσα σε Σητεία και Παλαίκαστρο.Στο κέντρο του οικισμού έχει μια πολύ ωραία πισίνα και μια καφετερία . Είναι απαραίτητο το μεταφορικό μέσο . Η Σταυρούλα είναι πολύ φιλόξενη και ευγενική !!! Ήταν όλα υπέροχα θα τα ξανά πούμε.

Iasonas et sa maman nous ont très bien accueillis, spécialités culinaires grecques tous les jours et suggestions de visites. Ils sont très sympathiques et attentionnés !! L'appartement est très agréable. Cependant, le village artificiel n'est pas entretenu à tous les endroits. Très belle piscine dans le village. L'emplacement de ce dernier est très bien quand vous êtes motorisés. Nous gardons un très bon souvenir de ce séjour !

Die Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend und haben immer geholfen oder etwas ausgeliehen, wenn etwas fehlte im Apartment. Die Wohnung selbst war so wie beschrieben und gut zum Leben. Wenn Du ein total zurückgezogenes Leben magst, weit ab von der Zivilisation, in einer herausragenden Natur, wo Du wanderen kannst, dann ist dies genau der richtige Ort. Es geht zwar ein Bus in die nächste Stadt, doch dieser fährt am Wochenende nicht. Wir haben ihn jedoch nie gebraucht, da andere Mitbewohner aus dem Dorf uns mitgenommen haben zum Einkaufen. Wir haben hier sehr nette, hilfsbereite und interessante Menschen kennengelernt. Das einzige, was anfangs etwas schockieren kann sind die vielen Häuser, die renovierungsbedürftig sind und die das Gesamtbild des ansonsten einzigartigen Baustils dieses Dorfes doch etwas verändern. Doch wenn Du Dich umsiehst, und das Meer und die Berge um Dich herum betrachtest, dann lohnt sich ein Aufenthalt auf alle Fälle. Für uns werden es unvergessliche 3 Überwinterungsmonate bleiben, die wir stets in guter Erinnerung behalten werden, wahrscheinlich gerade deswegen weil Alles so war, wie es eben ist an diesem Ort. Wie es im Sommer ist, wo der Pool offen ist und mehr los ist, das kann ich Dir nicht sagen, doch wenn Du einen ruhigen, zurückgezogenen, inspirierenden Ort zum Überwintern suchst, dann kann ich diesen Ort, mit seiner Umgebunge und den dortigen Menschen, mit voller Überzeugung nur empfehlen.

Très bon accueil, Σταυρούλα nous a confectionné pour nous des petits gâteaux à notre arrivé! Ils nous ont conseillé plusieurs sites à visiter dans la région. Comme on ne les voyaient pas , ils nous ont appelé pendant notre séjour pour savoir si tout allé bien, si nous avions besoin d'aide. Nos hôtes étaient disponibles pour nous, ils parlent très bien anglais.

me and my family were the first guests ever in this beautiful cottage. the owner anna and her husband live next door and are such nice, warm and openhearted persons! i never felt so welcome!! anna took so good care about us, welcomed us with a greek dinner and we never ran out of fresh vegetables, fruits, wine and raki:-) aswell we got some greek cooking lessons and had a great mousaka dinner with her buisness partner vassilia which is a very lovely person, too. i absoulutly recommend you to spend your holidays there. there area of sitia is beautiful and the house is located i a quite spot surrended by olive plantages. i wish anna all the best and hope to see her again!

We absolutely loved the look of the cottage from the photos when we booked it and when we arrived we were not disappointed! It had everything it said it has and a lot more. Really beautiful cottage, very well equipped, has lots of thoughtful and tasteful touches throughout and the garden sitting area was just perfect, particularly in the evenings. Vassilia was friendly, professional and very communicative throughout the whole process and was happy to answer any question. Anna the host was incredibly welcoming, kind and generous. We were received with home made delights of food and drinks and that was the beginning! I really can't say too much of Cretan friendliness and hospitality! We enjoyed every minute of our holiday (wish it was longer!) and look forward to going back in the future. Thank you Anna and Nikos for a truly wonderful Cretan experience. We had a wonderful stay in the Cottage House, Anna & Nikos are wonderful hosts! They welcomed us with fruits & specific drinks, raki & house wine, they cooked us delicious dinner with traditional musaka & snails. Nikos even went to the mountains to find them one day before! The house is clean, vintage style & the garden is full of flowers, very relaxing. We are very pleased with this accomodation & we gladly reccomend it for a nice confortable stay.

THE ULTIMATE CRETAN EXPERIENCE! We had the most amazing stay at Anna and Niko's cottage. When you stay here you aren't Air BnB guests, you're part of the family. Anna taught us all about Cretan cuisine and we sampled so many of her AMAZING dishes. We had a chance to eat dinner outside using the wood fired oven. And of course tried Niko's homemade wine, raki, and olive oil. This isn't simply a nice trip to the beach it's a full immersion of Cretan culture. Anna is an author, historian, and poet. She and Niko's grew up in small villages near Sitia and can tell you all about the area. Sitia is a wonderful base to explore all the small villages near by. We spent two weeks exploring and there was plenty to do. Plus the cottage is fully equipped with anything you need and Anna checks in frequently. It's right outside of town and so it's very quiet and peaceful. I had some great naps on the couch. Eastern Crete is the absolute BEST. Don't wait, BOOK!

The house of Anna and Nicos is fantastic. It felt like home straight away. And Anna and Nico are great hosts. They make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Anna met us in Siteia to show us the way to the house. There a whole meal was waitong for us and home baked cake. She had to leave for 3 days, bit during that days Nico came over with home made wine and raki. On Saturday Anna and Nicos cookies us a real Cretean meal in the oven in the garden and she showed us how to make it. That was a great evening. I highly recommand this place to everybody that want's to have their vacation between the locals but still near the beach and vilage. It is good to have a car or bike though, as the road to Sitea beach and centre is very dark ar night. It's about 15 minutes walk to the beach. Dear Anna and Nicos, thank you for the great week! Anna & Nikos - great hosts, great location, traditional, peaceful, best airbnb stay ever!

The hosts picked us up from the bus station on arrival, took us to the supermarket and during our stay, gave us lifts into and out of town. They invited us to join them for a traditional Cretan meal one evening and were extremely helpful friendly and interesting. They also helped us plan trips. The accommodation was lovely, with a relaxed, traditional country feel

Everything was great! i highly recommend Anna's place! she is very nice and friendly. if you want to try a real Cretan food, this is the best place for this! the house itself is very clean and nice. Anna's husband, Nikos, is very friendly and communicative. Anna and Nikos are always willing to help their guest. Without any exaggeration, Anna and Nikos treat thier guest not just as their clients, but trully as their friends. No doubt you will feel as part of their family! thank you, Anna, Nikos and Vassilia!

Anna was a great communicator from the start. The house is well equipped with stunning views and a great location to explore Eastern Crete. A car is a must. Thank you so much for having us at such short notice.

It's not often that I have mixed feelings when writing a review. The house itself lived up to the expectations of providing what was advertised, the pictures truly resemble the house and it was clean on arrival. The airconditioning is working perfectly and the terrace is nice. The beds and bathrooms are okay and having a toilet downstairs with the main bedrooms is very convenient. The closeness to the pebble beach and location on the island are very nice. Communication with Anna has been very good. She was not around, but managed the arrival through her friend. Messaging contact worked well and resolved a small issue with the washing machine properly. It does however seem that not everything got that little bit of extra attention to make it outstanding: maintenance of the garden is really needed, the outside terrace with barbecue was not usable as it requires lots of pruning of overhanging trees and the house misses the finishing touch with some decoration or just that simple wine glass to enjoy your (close-by bought Cretan) wine. All in all it has been a nice stay, it did provide value for money, but there was no wow!

Communication with Anna before our stay was very good. The villa has a fair bit of land around it with nice gardens. This was a nice location for visiting Vai beach and Valley of the Dead. Nice quiet area, and pleasant surroundings.
