Rosemarys home is like walking through the looking glass from a store front nestled under Neath 13th century stone tower into a cozy wood paneled living room with the woodstove in a huge hearth her enthusiasm for life enlivens every thing about her home the bed is a cloud the bathroom modern and cleaN. The room is spacious and quiet and the dog Butch is friendly and well behaved I especially enjoyed sharing a cup of tea with Rosemary and chatting about all things Wooler Anyone with the chance to visit Waller would be delighted with us stay at Rosemarys

Friendly host, beautiful peaceful home, immaculately kept, just off the centre of town. Local pubs serve wholesome filling food and co-op is two minutes walk away. St Cuthberts walk goes through town. Highly recommended.

The cottage was lovely. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Little extra touch such as a dog bed being provided was so thoughtful! The local area is beautiful. Lovely walks just up the road in Wooler Common, fabulous for dogs and their humans! My husband and I hope to return soon.

The cottage is immaculate, cosy and in the perfect spot for exploring Northumberland. don't have a single bad thing to say, Joanna's communication was fantastic, the property is as described, and i cant stress enough how clean it was! there was also a lovely little folder with pamphlets of things to do and see. Wooler itself is so quaint with super friendly locals, lovely antique shops, long walks for the dog and a few good pubs for drinks and food. We will definitely be back when it's warmer and the castles are open for exploring. thanks for a lovely stay x

Lovely spot for easy access to all the attractions of this beautiful part of the world. Holy island, bamburgh castle, Berwick etc all just a few miles away. Will be back!

Just stayed with my husband, 2 boys and our dog at this lovely little comfortable cottage which is in an ideal location for exploring Northumberland. We felt very welcome by Joanna who gave us lots of useful information about the local area and we found Wooler itself is an ideal place to stay with shops and the common is fabulous if you have a dog as it's just up the top of the hill. Would recommend

Lovely little cottage in an ideal location for exploring Wooler and the surrounding areas. Fresh towels supplied along with teabags and coffee. Keys were provided by next door neighbour who was lovely, super helpful and even put the heating on before we arrived to make sure the cottage was warm and toasty.

The accomodation was very warm, very clean and has everything you could want for a self-catering stay (especially the kitchen), be it one night (like us) or for a couple of weeks holiday. Wooler is well placed for numerous places of interest either in the Scottish Borders or round Northumbria (Barbara has provided a comprehensive folder full of useful information). Day trips to Edinburgh or Newcastle would easily be feasible. The accommodation is realistically priced, as the decor is somewhat dated, but provides excellent value for money.

Lovely cottage, spotless, everything you could possibly need. Cake always welcome

This is a lovely cottage and we have just spent a fabulous 4 nights there. The cottage is clean and welcoming, with everything you might need for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable etc. Wooler is a lovely little town, and the location of the cottage is great too - shops just around the corner, with pubs, cafes and take-aways all handy too. Thank you for an excellent stay - would highly recommend.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this cosy end of terrace cottage in Wooler and were sorry to leave the house when the time came. Very well equipped, wonderfully quiet, and convenient for all the sightseeing and walking we wanted to do in the area. We were always able to park the car in front of the house, and after a try or two could even squeeze around the very tight corner without having to manoeuvre. When we arrived we found a pint of milk, some cake and teabags waiting for us - sometimes it is the little things which make the difference -, as well as plenty of useful information about the house and sights/walks in the area. We would definitely pick this house again if we were in the area.

A wonderful wonderful stay!! Richard is a fantastic host and it was super to also meet his lovely family. The cottage is perfect for a tranquil and cozy stay. Beautiful decor and lovely beds- the grounds are just stunning- we really had a great stay and would recommend highly! Wish we could have stayed longer. Our children and dogs were very sad to leave and so were we! We shall be back very soon !

Beautifully cosy cottage, every amenity available with lovely cosy beds and great log burner. Setting is stunning with many great walks on the door step, no need to put our pup on his lead. Children loved the wild life, lots of deer, rabbits and sheep. Wooler is a lovely village with a number of restaurants, takeaways, gift shops, antiques and a handy super market. Location is perfect for visiting the stunning coastline and the many amazing castles. We will definitely return soon.

Just on our way back from our stay here. We were greeted by the lovely Richard who made us feel very welcome. The house was so warm and cosy when we arrived and included lots of nice little touches. He gave us a tour of the grounds to show us where we could go and said he was always on the other end of the phone if we had any problems. It exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be staying again :)

Richard was a great host. Very friendly and went out of his way to make our stay more convenient. We went for lovely walks around the grounds and saw the deer, hares and some red squirrels. It was great to sit in front of the wood burner at night with a glass of wine.

A comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage in the most beautiful surroundings. Lots to see and do all around the surrounding areas, perfect for a getaway from busy lives. You'll come back relaxed and refreshed and likely wanting to relocate!

Richard made us feel really welcome, he was a fantastic host. The listing was accurate and the cottage was a lovely place to stay. The surrounding grounds of Fowberry Tower and the countryside were perfect for a quiet couple of days relaxation. Our trip was well timed to fit in with collecting conkers and picking a few apples from the orchard (with permission!). Wish we could have stayed for a whole week.

This was my first Airbnb experience and it was fantastic. Richard - the host - gave us a very warm welcome and guided tour. There was bread, drinks and cookies in a welcome pack and candles and a lovely fire. The cottage is warm and very well equipped. It was equal, if not beyond, the standard of any cottage you might rent from the National Trust/Rural Retreats etc... The grounds of the main house are very beautiful and there is wildlife in abundance and plenty of owls at night. This part of Northumberland is spectacularly beautiful and an excellent base for walks in the Cheviots. We greatly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Our host emailed me directions, access instructions and recommendations for OK.aces to eat. On our arrival there was a card, some biscuits and a bottle of wine! Cottage was exactly as portrayed on website and very clean and well equipped. A quiet village but the pubs served amazing food.

Stunning cottage, beautifully decorated with lots of home comforts. The small details like eggs in the fridge, washing up items and even bubble bath made our stay all the more enjoyable. We particularly loved the log fire! It's the perfect location for exploring the wonderful local area - there is so much to see! We took so much away from our stay - not least interior design ideas! We'd have loved to stay longer but instead we'll just have to look forward to going back! Thank-you Angela.

We had a great short break in Post Box Cottage. Chatton is a great base for exploring Northumberland. The cottage is lovely, has everything you could possibly need for your stay, and everything is to a very high standard. Angela treats her guests very well and this really adds to the experience. Great communication and clear instructions. Highly recommended.

A charming cottage in peaceful village location, beautifully refurbished space an immaculate attention to detail. Cosy up in front of the log burner with throws on the very comfy seating. Host Angela is very welcoming and left us some wine and local biscuits and tea, as well as fluffy towels and toiletries. Well stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook in, however lovely pub in the village a minutes walk away with great food also. Lots of walking in the local area to be done, there are loads of places you can visit from the base, you can get to the Northumberland coast or alternatively to the cheviot hills. We only 3 nights here but wished we had have booked for longer, would certainly book again. Very rested after our stay here, super comfy bed too.

We had a brilliant stay at Jane's cottage,tucked away in the beautiful Northumberland countryside; the only sounds were the many birds in the garden and country lanes,busy displaying and feeding their families! Horses everywhere, looking for a friendly face,and the fantastic coast just down the road, perfect for Seahouses and the incredible wildlife of the Farne Islands...thankyou Jane, utter bliss!

We had a relaxing stay at connifer cottage. It was very cozy and was well equipped. Would love to go back again in the near future!

The cottage is lovely and ideally located in the countryside close to the Idyllic village of Ford on the outskirts of the Cheviot hills and not too far away from the coast. Horse riding is at hand as Jane runs the nearby riding centre.

Spacious and very quiet. Great value and the stay was lovely.

Conifer Cottage is in a good situation, close to Holy Island and the beautiful coastline, but also near the national park for woodland and rolling countryside. Jane was helpful and welcoming, ensuring we had wood and coal for the open fire. The cottage was quite chilly but warmed up nicely. It's peaceful and has its own rear garden for a bit of running around for the children or just for sitting in the sun when it comes out. Three bedrooms gave plenty of sleeping room for 5 people and would suit 6, though it would be crowded round the little table if you all wanted to eat together. We went out for fish and chips in Seahouses and then a meal on Holy Island.

Conifer Cottage was exactly what we were looking for, somewhere out in the countryside, but not too far away from civilization. Set on high ground the cottage and the sitting area afford magnificent views of the Cheviot Hills and the surrounding area. Although the decor was slightly "old fashioned", the cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, and had a lot more character than some of the modern places that we have stayed in. The beds were very comfortable and there was always plenty hot water whenever we needed it. The complementary eggs, milk and bread that awaited us were very welcome. One of the highlights for us was to be able to sit in the lounge looking out into the field across the road, watching two Little Owls flying about and sunning themselves. Jane was very prompt to respond to queries prior to our arrival and called in on us once we'd arrived to check that everything was ok. I would certainly recommend Conifer Cottage to anyone looking for a base to explore the Cheviots and the north Northumberland coast.

This was a lovely cottage and we were made to feel very welcome. It is traditional and deceptively roomy and has all the conveniences tucked away. The views are stunning and the wildlife and fresh air made a welcome change. There was no problem with making arrangements or finding the cottage. The real fire made for warm and homely evenings.

We enjoyed our 3 day break over New Year at the cottage. Thank you to Jane for giving us this well needed break at short notice. Even though the weather was not brilliant we still managed to get out and enjoy the surroundings. We had a lovely walk up to St Cuthberts cave, a trip across to Holy Island, a trip to Bamburgh beach, a few bimbley walks locally and a look round Ford and Etal. It was lovely to have a bath in the cottage as we had young children with us who don't like showers. The coal fire was kept going the whole time we were there as the weather was pretty miserable but there were storage heaters in the cottage too. The bacon and eggs for breakfast were a nice touch as well - so thank you!

General location super with easy access to many places of historical and environmental interest. No doubt about it, we would definitely consider visiting again and recommending to our friends in the future. Contact with host was prompt, helpful and clear from the outset.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The cottage was very comfortable (especially the beds) and well equipped. We loved the location near to the Cheviots and the coast, with views of the hills from the bedrooms. We'd definitely stay again next time we wanted a good base to explore this part of Northumberland.

A lovely and spacious place to stay. We were greeted with a welcoming letter and home made scones and jam upon arrival. The old workshop is a great place to stay - clean and cosy with the log burner keeping us all nice and warm. Would definitely recommend.

Spent a wonderful three days at Woodpecker Cottage. The cottage is very cosy and beautifully finished, and the chocolate cake and other treats were lovely! Haven't spent time in Northumberland before but really liked the area. Lots to do and see. We'll certainly be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Woodpecker Cottage! Our hosts were brilliant and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We certainly enjoyed the little extras like cake, jam and honey provided upon arrival. The area is stunning and the cottage is beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything for a self-catering stay. The location is ideal for all the tourist spots in Northumbria, which unfortunately we didn't manage to get to see all so will be booking another trip next year!

We were a party of 2 couples and I can honestly say that this property was outstanding and could not be faulted. The view from the dining room were beautiful. If you like peace and quiet, total darkness and don't mind a 15 minute drive down a track then this is for you. Wholeheartedly recommended.

The cottage was perfect in every way - facilities (especially en-suites), décor and the view. The welcome "pack" was lovely (Prosecco, chocolate and much more!). A lovely place to spend a relaxing weeks holiday.
