Light, peaceful room with queen bed and shared bath in a blissfully quiet 1820s Vermont farmhouse on a five-acre tree farm with a fresh spring and stream frontage. Beautiful rural setting, yet only a mile to town! Cool off in the stream, enjoy spectacular sunsets from the deck, an evening by the fire pit gazing at the stars, or just watch the trees grow.
We are a Christmas Tree Farm with a large, well maintained, updated farmhouse originally built in the 1820s. The house and barn are powered by solar energy, and the water is provided from a 500 foot deep clean well. • Had a great nights sleep. Lisa’s place is gorgeous and comfy and the property is beautiful! We’ll definitely stay again when in the area.

  • Lisa's house is very stylish and comfortable, and she is very nice. The kitchen is large with great amenities, and her cat Mochi is very friendly! Fantastic stay for the price.

  • Beautiful, rustic farmhouse with amazing decor! Nice & Clean! In the country on a quiet road, yet only 2-3 minutes to downtown restaurants and route 7/etc, A+ location!! Lisa is very friendly & you will feel warm & welcome here. Just booked my 2nd straight week here as I'm working in nearby Manchester Center, VT M-F. Wi-Fi works great and plenty of TV channels if you want to relax in the living room.

  • Lisa is a great host. Her place is beautiful with lots of amenities. She has beautiful, fully stocked kitchen. The plates and mugs are amazing. The house is sparkling clean and is beautifully decorated. Our bedroom was nice and toasty on a cold winter night. And the pillows were really comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and will come back if ever planning a trip to VT.

Our cabin was built for family, friends, and guests to relax and enjoy an unobstructed view of the green mountains in the heart of Vermont. You won't find a more beautiful place to call home during your stay. Our cabin is off the grid, NO running water or indoor plumbing, but it’s comfortable and has been enjoyed by 100’s of Airbnb travelers. We have a super quiet generator that offers power when you need and want it. Guests do have to bring their own water and in the winter must walk in.
Please be mindful this cabin is off the grid. ***Read This: WINTER RENTERS MUST WALK TO CABIN WHICH IS ROUGHLY 500 yards & a Winter worthy vehicle is a must ... summer tires will not make it to parking spot ... all wheel drive or 4X4**** This location gets a lot of snow!!!! Does have a very well built Jamaica Cottage Shop outhouse, but no running water or shower. Heating sources are propane and a pellet stove which similar to all electric within cabin runs with an inverted generator. The generator is extremely quiet and cabin can be run on solar too.
Incredible access to Vermont Green Mountain National Forest and State Parks. Cabin is located on a gravel road that leads to Little Pond in Woodford, VT. It is an easy drive (15 min.) to Mount Snow and Bennington. Only a few miles from Prospect Nordic Resort. Woodford State Park is 3 miles away. Cabin is off the grid with solar power and generator power. It's very comfortable, but I don't want guests to be surprised. Water is carry in and the bathroom is a very clean outhouse constructed by Jamaica Cottage Shop.
  • This cabin was absolute perfection—from the spectacular mountain views to the quick communication from Carson, we’d 100% come here again. It definitely has its quirks—it is off grid with no running water, so be aware of what you’re getting into, but it was a great get away and would highly recommend to any true nature lover!

    Ariel2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a great getaway! We stayed in the winter and were pleasantly surprised to see there was about a foot of snow there, even when 5 mins away downtown there was no snow at all. It was great and just what we wanted. Very cozy and warm and the perfect cabin getaway. The driveway was a great place to get some sledding in, and the cabin was plenty warm enough to heat up in after.

    Amber2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing! If you’re looking for an intimate stay in nature, then this place is a definite must (even with two pups)!

    Claudia2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our dogs wore us out, and we loved it too! Lots of opportunities for hiking, relaxing, and recharging. We had a great time, although the dvd collection could use an update! Lol but really it was beautiful and lots of snow! Bring water!!

    Supatra2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down my favorite Airbnb rental yet. The pictures don’t do the cabin or views justice, or the stars. Finding it in the dark, an adventure. Carson’s dad had to tow us out of a snow bank (thanks again!!). Being off the grid felt healing, apres ski. Dave and I hope to be back soon!

    Kate2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful little cabin with an extraordinary view. Three of us stayed here in deep winter conditions, and were perfectly comfortable. We are likely to return.

    Ian2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin. It snowed a lot and Carson was so nice and prepared the cabin for our weekend stay. The fire was burning and we really felt warmly welcomed. Would definitely recommend, but you have to keep in mind that it’s a rustic place with no running water and toilet is outside the cabin. View was amazing.

  • This is an amazing place to stay in the most beautiful location. Our stay was very short and we couldn’t really check out the amenities but we would highly recommend it. We had some problems finding it but that was due to poor road signage and having new GPS at night. Nevertheless, Amy did her best to help us out.

    Robert2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place on the waterfront. Bed is super comfortable and the space is very inviting. Loved the collection of games and books.

    Leslie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, with access to the lake. Amazing deck to sit and rewind. The house was so clean, easy to get to. Looking forward to stay there again ☺️

    Frederic2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage on the lake is simply adorable!!! It exceeded our expectations and we wished that we were staying longer than one night. The house is decorated impeccably and is sparkly clean. My personal highlight was taking the kayak out on the lake early in the morning - so peaceful!!

    Jennifer2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amy has the most amazing cottage right on the lake. It's so serene and it's just lovely!! Believe me, you will not be disappointed. It was just fabulous to come home to a nice simple home and kick back after being on the road all day. We especially enjoyed watching the moon rise over the lake ...love, love!

    Mari Etta2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Amy's cottage. it was so charming and was beautifully decorated. We enjoyed waking up in the morning to the reflection of the mountains and trees in the pond and seeing the ducks and geese. Amy provided lots of information about the house and area. We highly recommend.

    Linda2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a great weekend away surrounded by such beautiful foliage and scenery. The cabin was cute and perfect for a weekend away. The kitchen was perfectly functional. We appreciated the TV with Netflix!

    Matthew2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Although the weather was not the best the place itself was warm and cozy and has a lot of little things like games and books to keep you busy. Amy's house is absolutely adorable, we didn't want to leave!

  • Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The house and grounds are beautiful and in a location that perfectly balances privacy and convenience. My bed was incredibly comfortable, and our hostess was kind enough to offer a variety of small breakfast options, tea, and coffee for the morning. Lisa is wonderful to talk to, as well. A perfect stay for an amazing price.

    Skye2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean, modern, good quality amenities. Responsive and detailed on instructions. The accommodation is her house the not the barn (listing showed a pic of the barn), and we mistakenly thought that was it! Silly us. We liked the location with small town feel and have great restaurants for dinner!

    Vanessa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s house was wonderful. It is in a convenient location and was super clean and cozy. Our room was gorgeous; one of the pretties Airbnbs I’ve ever been in. 100% recommend!

    Devon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a great host!! She’s very sweet and considerate and she has a beautiful home. The Christmas trees are so charming. The views even from Lisa’s property are stunning and Bennington is a very cute town to visit!

    Bridget2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is amazing!!! Her house and property? Gorgeous! A must stay if available. My son and I came in off a long snowy road trip and booked this rare gem on a whim. Short stay, but ever lasting impressions. Had the best sleep ever! By way of the beautiful house, the top notch amenities, and the genuine friendliness we received from our lovely host (Lisa). This short experience was a breath of fresh air. A unique home away from home... and a coooool cat to go with it! Simply wonderful! Sincerely yours, - Richard

  • Affordable good spot for a good night's sleep after working in nearby Manchester. Stayed 3 nights. Dish Network with plenty of channels. Used Wi-Fi once with no issues, speedy internet. Met 1 of the 2 cats, the small one, & he or she was a cutie and playful when I played with her/him. Staying for 4 more nights next week as I'm working in nearby Manchester next week. Very close to Madison Brewing Co, Ramunto's and other restaurants. Quiet street noise/traffic, no issues or complaints, good night's rest. Thanks Sulyman!

  • Great place. Woodford Lake is off the beaten path just enough to get some peace and quiet but plenty close enough to Mount Snow, the Appalachian/Long Trail and Bennington for great shops, breweries and restaurants. Would recommend it any time of year. The property backs up to the fabulous Green Mountain National Forest too

436 square foot cabin on 10 acres surrounded by National Forrest on all four sides of the property. This tiny self sufficient cabin has everything you need to unwind from city living. The property is very private. No neighbors you, won’t see another person during your stay here.
This is a remote one room cabin in the woods, good for the adventurous romantics who are looking for total seclusion. The space is cozy and warm when the fire places are going, so be ready to keep wood on the fire. Wood is included, along with propane for lanterns and dual burner cook stove, also a grill for BBQ, and a propane torch.
There are two houses you will need to drive past. Just go slow and don't make much noise until you get to the camp. The road to this cabin is off road driving. The property is remote. Please use caution while exploring the woods. If you get lost in the woods surrounding this property it will be bad for you. So bring a compass and look at a map if you do decide to venture off I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you do be prepared.
  • Excellent off=the-grid experience. Spent Thanksgiving weekend with family (including 9 yo) at Russell's camp after a fresh snowfall. Marvelous! Cabin is rustic: propane camper stove, propane lamps, cast iron stove for heat, water from running stream.....a great getaway from city lights and noise. Total silence, immersed in nature, no neighbors. A great place to get away from it all......

    Dino2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • great place!

    Diana2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • great place to get away with the dogs, loved the outdoor fireplace and view every morning!

    Diana2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Russell’s cabin was the perfect little getaway for my husband and I, as well as our two dogs while we were in the area for some hiking and a wedding. Beautiful surroundings, perfect starry sky at night, and complete privacy. We will definitely be back if we are coming through the area again. The driveway was completely manageable for us in a larger vehicle, but you must go slow and pay attention. Russell was extremely hospitable and helpful.

    Katie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Russell's cabin is remote - and beautiful. You'll wake up to silence and a gorgeous view of the pond and the woods, and spend the evening watching purple sunsets from the deck. If you want quiet -- and you're good at planning for a straight stay in the woods -- this is the place for you. All that said, this place really is remote. The road in is quite rough -- we busted our car (Hyundai Tucson, with 4WD) on one of the rocks on the way in, and our first stop after getting back to our apartment in New York was the auto mechanic. Borrow Russell's car! Even if you think you don't need to. Also, be forewarned that there is no electricity (at least when we stayed) and thus no fridge. If you bring perishable food, bring ice! Bring a french press for your coffee, and some mugs, too, unless you don't mind drinking the coffee out of red Solo cups (fine by us). Life is very simple at Russell's cabin: eat, read, play checkers, make a fire, star gaze, etc. If you want to spend a weekend checking out different breweries and hiking trails in the area... the difficulty of the road into the cabin makes that a tall order. If you're coming to veg out and do little more than stare at the woods all day, this is a great place to do it!

    Hayley2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! I can’t say enough about that. It was super remote and private. Our dogs loved running around and exploring on their own. There is no shower or electricity. And running toilet is for peeing only. Number 2 you have to go to the outhouse. None of this was mentioned in the ad. However it wasn’t that big of a shock to us. We made it fun no matter what. The road to get there is no joke! We ended up popping a tire. Russell was amazing at helping us. He grabbed our tire and went to get it replaced. Cause we wouldn’t of made it out with the spare without destroying our vehicle. Showering outside with a hose was pretty fun too. All and all it was great and we would 100% go back. Maybe with an extra full size tire just in case;)

  • Perfect place to rest and recharge

    Lindsey2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you have a chance to stay here, do it! The area is absolutely beautiful and he wasn’t lying when he described it as “serene and private” it is completely secluded and amazing. The cabin is completely stocked with things you need and even things you may not even know you needed. The stars at night are like nothing I have ever seen before. Russell was quick to communicate with any questions that we had yet let us enjoy our weekend completely to ourselves. This place is truly a hidden gem. Thank you so much!

We used the cabin as a jump-off to snowmobiling and snowboarding at Mt. Snow (~30 min away) and snow shoeing around Mt. Olga, but we could have just stayed at the cabin the whole time. Nestled in the woods, you are away from everyone, down only a snowmobile-accessible road during the winter, with a babbling brook out the back door. The view from the bathroom is picturesque. The cabin is clean and tidy with all the things you need -- you're definitely not roughing it, the water is hot (and tastes great from the spring!), the bed is warm and you can watch the fireplace glow from it. Enjoyed cooking on the vintage stove, keeping the fire fed, and reading a book by the light of gas lamps. Couldn't say enough about Chuck, we had a small problem and he was over within 10 minutes to fix it, very gracious, and he's built a wonderful place in the woods. We will be back.

  • If you are looking for a beautiful quiet place to relax and recharge, or connect with nature, Stone' Cabin is the perfect place to be. Rustic, yet plush; super clean comfy furnishings and a kitchen that has everything you need to make a gourmet meal. The stars at night and music of the stream will fill you with peace.

  • Great place to stay, hike, and be removed from everything.

  • We had a lovely time staying at Stone’s Camp! It was exactly the kind of place we were looking for. It was a charming cabin full of history and tucked within the Green Mountain National Forest. The sound of the flowing stream behind the cabin was enchanting. We highly recommend this place to anyone....it was very clean, cozy and Charles was a wonderful host!

    Eva2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Charles is a great host, sent us clear driving directions and warmly welcomed us upon arrival. Beautiful cabin at a great location by a stream. We would rent again for a quiet weekend get away.

This is a five-bedroom house that was repurposed as a hunting camp and then repurposed for you! Of course, we kept all of the elements that has made it what it was for the last 30 years. 5 bedrooms can play host to up to 10 guests. This two-story house has one ground-floor bedroom and four more upstairs. A convenient full bathroom with shower located on each floor. Camp is located 30 minutes from Mt. Snow, 15 minutes to Bennington and 32 minutes to Mass MOCA. 2 miles to Prospect MT.
Located on Route 9, you will have direct access to the V.A.S.T. snowmobile trails as well as ample parking for those trailers. There is a detached garage, perfect for storing skis, and good for general storage. The first room you enter will instantly tell you that you have just walked into your perfect Vermont get-a-way. Complete with a working wood stove and trophy's from hunts-past, this den serves as a great socializing space (and a good place to take off all of your snow-covered jackets).
  • Me and the family stayed here for a weekend trip to VT and Mt.Snow. There were 11 of us and we all fit perfect. The house is right on VT 9 which is great because you can quickly get to where you’re going (30min to Mt.Snow/15min to Bennington/30min to Manchester). The house has an older vibe which is totally fine because the house is older but everything works and gave us no trouble. We really didn’t even need to use the heating system because the wood stove really got the house toasty, even upstairs. Joe was super quick with his responses and assured us if we needed anything, he would head over. I would definitely recommend staying here for a good time and I’ll be checking in when we head up to Vermont again!

  • Very comfortable for multiple guest. Parking was conveniant. We all felt relaxed.

  • Joe’s place really worked out great for our 6 person Mt. Snow ski weekend ⛷🤙

    Callard2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for a weekend of skiing/snowboarding with 9 people. It’s a 15 minute drive away from two towns that have restaurants and a 30 minute drive from Mount Snow. It was cozy, had a nice furnace that we had a fire in, and had everything we needed for the weekend. The snow was also plowed consistently so we never had trouble getting the car out. Overall was a great stay and Joe is very responsive!

    Ally2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is awesome and fit our 10 person group comfortable. We loved the rustic Vermont style of the house. Everyone loved it.

    Alison2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Joe’s house was great for our needs which was beds and a few bathrooms. We were skiing and the front room with its wood stove (wood included!) was great for drying things out. House was well stocked with paper towels, coffee cups, sugar, water, soaps and towels. Joe also had a nice welcome gift for us. We slept 10 comfortably as described. Great home base for skiers and or snow mobiliers. Also Joe was very responsive with communications. All good!

  • Last month, I was fortunate enough to shoot my NYU senior thesis film in Woodford, VT. When we reached out to Joe about housing our crew, he kindly agreed to take us in. And then when one of our filming locations fell through, he allowed us to film a scene in his shed! Because of Joe’s hospitality, not only did we have a warm and comfortable place to rest before our long days on set, but we were able to finish shooting our film. This was one of the best experiences I've had with Airbnb. Throughout the process of trying to get this production up to Vermont, Joe was responsive, accommodating, and incredibly generous. Joe’s home made a world of difference for us, and we're so grateful for him!

    Kristen2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Andy's place is an awesome little cabin tucked back in the woods near Prospect Mountain. It's connected to a cool snowmachine trail network, and was less than a mile from what I found (as an Alaskan) to be surprisingly good nordic skiing. The cabin itself was cozy, warm, and had everything we needed for a group of four for a quiet New Year's Eve. We drove down from Burlington during an ice storm and Andy made sure to keep us posted on weather updates, conditions on the Prospect Hill road and their long driveway, and made sure we knew what to do in case we got stuck. We felt like we great hands. All in all, this spot was a fantastic retreat, even in the depths of a New England winter.

    Timothy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a cabin in Southern Vermont, this is it. The property is perfectly tucked away in the evergreens and the cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Andrew went above and beyond to keep us informed on the road conditions, etc, following a big snow storm that had just rolled through the area. He was super quick to respond to our questions at all times.

    Ian2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and comfortable cabin. Has everything you need anything more.

    Allison2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time staying at the cabin. When I visit Vermont, this is the exact lodging experience I’m looking for. Wood walls and ceiling, loft bed, wood burning stove - it gives you the perfect Vermont getaway feeling.

    Ehret2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay in the cabin! Very private and cozy! Fireplace inside was amazing. Andrew very quick to respond when I had questions. I would definitely stay here again.

    Casey2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was nicely furnished and very cozy! The directions for getting there and settling in were very helpful as well. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

    Sarah2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our weekend away in this cabin in the middle of the woods. The location is perfect for leaf peeping! The cabin itself is very cute and cozy and sort of takes you back in time. Wifi was surprisingly good, but I did not have any cell service with AT&T. Definitely remember to bring sheets, comforters, pillows, and towels. The kitchen was well equipped and the wood stove was great for heating up the small space. Loved it!

  • Chad has thought of every detail. From the welcome note to the personalized cookies and luxury bath products, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was impeccably clean and beautifully appointed. Everything was there to cook a meal in the full kitchen, or if you wanted to go out, there were several pamphlets outlining the area. We were a short drive to Mt. Snow for skiing. The beds were incredibly comfortable and plenty of space to feel like we were not right on top of the couple that traveled with us. We loved waking up to the sound of the brook in the morning and sitting on the upstairs patio enjoying our coffee. The Lovesac bean bags were such a treat for reading a book and relaxing. Only giving 5 stars because 6 isn't an option. If you are looking for a quiet, serene getaway, this is it. We hope to visit many more times in the future.

  • Everything about our stay was great. finding the cabin was easier than expected, and as soon as we walked in we where amazed by the amount of detail that every corner of the cabin is decorated with. The kitchen is equiped with everything that you need to cook simple meals, the entire space is super clean, beds are spacious and comfortable, We loved the tv room and the views from the living room. If you get lucky, the perfect location for stargazing. Communication with the hosts was fast and easy, we would definitely stay here again if we ever have the chance.

    Julian2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • There are not enough stars to rate how perfect the place and our experience there was! The property is gorgeous, cozy, and it exceeded our expectations for comfort. Our hosts are thorough in their explanations, their expectations for our stay, and the best ways to spend time around town. Location-wise we were also quite pleased, the accessible options for sightseeing and for entertainment were quite close. Everything was convenient. We went for a quiet time away and that is exactly what we got. We woke up to falling snow, which was pristine and accumulated throughout the property adding to the appeal of the scenery. The driveway and paths were safe, neatly shoveled, and so well cared for. We imagined that this place is just as stunning in the summer or fall. Small personalized touches around the home welcoming us set the tone right away. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and lounging around the home. There are warm blankets, amazing giant fluffy seats in the loft area that are unexpectedly comfortable. The whole place is delightful. The decor is warm and elegant throughout. Chad communicated all the necessary instructions from the start. We asked him a follow-up question and he answered quickly. Our phone signal wasn't great there but the Wifi more than made up for it. We didn't watch any TV but that is also available if you want as well as board games and books. In short, we can't wait to go back. Thank you for making your lovely home available to us.

    Steve2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was exceptional! Lovely setting, cozy, well appointed, and quiet. The perfect place to relax for the weekend. Our hosts could not be have been more accommodating. Thank you 🙏

  • Beautiful and stylish cabin in the woods! Has everything you could ever need or want! Quiet and private, while being close to North Adams for fine dining and the enormous Mass MoCA Art museum! Loved the smart lock & WiFi valet (so clever/helpful)! Enormous Love sac beanbag [type] chairs are super fun and wicked comfortable! Stay here, you won’t be disappointed! Our favorite AirBnB to date! Thanks so much Chad & David!

    Maribe2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We read all of the excellent reviews of this place but still found it exceeded our expectations. As a family of four, with two young teens, the space was accommodating and a great fit. So cozy and comfortable -- we loved the loft with the bean bag sacs -- the kids couldn't get enough of them and spent the first full evening lounging and reading aloud to each other. The location is beautiful and we enjoyed walking along the brook in the snow. We were a little nervous when we learned that a snow storm was scheduled to come through, but Chad put us at ease with instructions about the snow plow and scheduled an extra plowing of the private road. The kids asked repeatedly to come back in summer or fall. A very relaxing stay and well situated to visit Williamstown and North Adams.

This is a private room with a shared bath. There is a cozy full sized bed. It is conveniently located just 2.5 miles from Mount Snow Ski resort. I’m in the middle of some remodeling and will have a new listing up soon, expect to be up and running for the Christmas season!
  • Wonderful host. We traded a lot of stories back and forth. Super location for Mt Snow.

  • Skip’s is one of the best places I have stayed. He is a really nice man. Had so many lovely conversations with him. The room is very cozy and clean, as is the bathroom. The whole house is just adorable and quaint. Easy to find, just make sure your gps doesn’t send you backroads. If you take rt. 100 most of the way it will get you closer and faster than the dirt roads. Only about 7 minutes from Mt. Snow and about 5 minutes from a bunch of places to eat in Dover. Highly recommend this place.

  • My girlfriend and I unfortunately got a flat tire on the NJ turnpike and were unable to get to Skips place. We stayed there the year prior and had a wonderful time. We plan to try and make the trip again next year!

    Andres2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Skip's place. Just as good as the first one, and we will come back for sure. One thing that I forgot to include in the other review was that there are plenty of hangers and hooks to hang your ski or snowboard clothing to dry before the next morning. Already looking forward to coming back here!

    Denis2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Skip's place is a classic ski town home. High ceilings make the place spacious. He is very friendly and allows you to make yourself at home. The bed is very comfortable and the comforter is soft. Skip lives there, year round. So he can point you in the right direction of things happening in town. Live music and food going on, etc. To no fault of Skip's, my trip was cut short by illness, which is a shame because I was looking forward to hitting the slopes of Mt Snow.

Cozy Vermont mini-house Convenient to the Clark Art Institute, Mass MoCA, & Bennington, VT Due to Vermont's COVID-19 State of Emergency Declaration we have suspended operations for the month of April, and cannot accept instant bookings. Please contact me to book. Also, out of state visitors are now required to self-quarantine for two weeks.
Owl Hill House is an organically shaped structure built by a group of sculptors in the early 1980’s and recently renovated by one of its original creators. Its 570 square feet interior is bright, airy and cozy with hand-plastered, sculptural, white walls and custom built-in furniture. It is set in a tranquil clearing surrounded by beautiful trees on a private Vermont dirt road, and is the perfect base for exploring northern Berkshire County’s cultural gems and southern Vermont’s picturesque towns and natural beauty, or to just relax and leave the rectilinear world behind. Location The house is in Pownal, VT and is convenient to The Clark and Williams College (10 minutes), Mass MoCA (20 minutes), and Bennington, VT (10 minutes). The Space There is a main space with a seating area, a sleeping nook with a queen-sized bed, and a kitchen. The bathroom has a shower and a custom-made bench. A small utility room has a washer/dryer. There is high-speed Wi-Fi. The exterior landscaping is still in progress. Owl Hill Road The house is 0.1 miles up a dirt road shared with 4 houses. The road is regularly maintained but can have a few rough spots. In the warm months, it’s fine for any vehicle. In the winter and early spring good snow tires are highly recommended, and All Wheel Drive or 4-Wheel Drive are optimal. After a snowstorm, or in icy conditions, you may have to leave your vehicle at the bottom of the hill and walk up – it's a 4-5 minute walk. Winter in Vermont can often be an adventure! ***** Sorry, no pets. No smoking ***** --------------------------------------------- COFFEE: The house has a coffee grinder, and a French Press. We do not supply coffee beans or tea. --------------------------------------------- PANTRY: We stock the house with salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, flour and sugar.
  • This place was so great. We expected a wizard or a group of dwarves to knock on the door at any moment to invite us on a quest to destroy the One Ring. In the meantime, we made tea, cozied up by the fire and enjoyed the quiet. Will stay here again!

  • This place is so unique and charming! Mark was very helpful with suggestions for activities in the surrounding area and it was just as fun to stay inside this whimsical structure for the weekend. It was SO CLEAN and well maintained. The dirt road was a but muddy and treacherous BUT doable. I recommend this stay to anyone who enjoys peace, simplicity, and nature! One of my favorite stays on this app.🍄

  • The mushroom house is a marvel: it's exceptionally cozy and warm; it's tucked away high on a hill but is a short drive from Williamstown and North Adams; and it's a great place to see the night sky. Every part of the mushroom house, down to the nice mugs in the kitchen, seems to have been carefully considered. The only negative thing about our stay at the mushroom house was having to leave :). Mark and Rachel were really friendly and accommodating hosts. Thanks to both of you for providing such a unique place to stay!

  • This space is perfect for recharging the soul. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

    Keith2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and tucked away, but 10 minutes from major gas station/convenience store and 15 from a few great restaurants/markets/coffee shops. The space felt much bigger than its 570 square feet, we even considered entertaining two friends while we were in town. Stocked with some books and games and basics for cooking and cleaning if necessary. Bed is large enough and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with Cuisinart and Le Creuset products, gas stovetop and large sink. The bathroom is spacious and stocked with all necessary basics. Small propane stove kept the place way warmer than you’d expect. Parking for two out front (at least in the winter months). The single best Airbnb stay we’ve had. Weird and beautiful but not gimmicky at all. Mark has thought of everything.

Beautiful and unique cozy converted barn in classic rural Vermont setting situated on 6.5 very private acres with long-range views. It is an ideal launching spot for many outdoor excursions, or just relax at home and explore the property.
This home has the rustic feel of a real Vermont barn but all the modern amenities of home. The property affords total privacy on it's 6.5 acres, so you can just relax and enjoy being in a beautiful setting. There is one master bedroom. The other bed is a spring-mattress futon in the large loft area. It offers semi-privacy. There is a small back room and a plug-in remote controlled air mattress that can be used as a private sleeping area. Guests have access to a gas grill, free firewood. The neighborhood is in a rural setting on a private dirt road off of a quiet dead-end public dirt road. The farm where this house originally came from is just up the road and sells maple syrup and u-pick blueberries. There is a small airport in nearby Bennington, and a major airport about an hour away in Albany, New York. Southwestern Vermont is full of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, hunting, and skiing. The geography is mostly mountainous, forested, and rural, with classic New England towns and small farms throughout. Owner does not live on site, but can be contacted 24/7 with questions or problems.

Southern Vermont location. Woodford State park across the street which offers swimming, kayaking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hiking, fishing. We are on the snowmobile trail system. 20 minutes from Bennington and/or Wilmington VT. Mt Snow for skiing is close by. Lake is down the street for swimming, boating and fishing. Don't forget fall time and the colors of fall in the trees. New Hampshire is straight across route 9 about a 50 min drive. Opposite direction on rt 9 is New York and Mass.
Located off Rt 9 easy location to find. You can walk to Woodford State Park across the street. Snow Mobile right next door to the trail system no need to drive your car/trailer anywhere you are there! Pellet stove in house after a long day out in the cold keep warm inside.
Located directly off rt 9. Plenty of snow on top of this mountain in the winter. State forest is behind the house. Across the street in Woodford State Park.
  • Frank's place is perfect for a ski weekend! Prospect Mountain XX ski is 2 mins away with plenty of snow. We loved the pellet stove to curl up with hot chocolate afterwards. The space had everything we needed and Frank was a great host.

    Monica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a ski weekend at Mount Snow! 23 minutes from the mountain and close to town to visit. The host was very proactive and helpful. Would definitely book again!

  • This place is cozy and has a good location in Green Mountain National Forest. The fireplace kept the house a good temperature.

    Mike2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Simple and cozy home with all the needed amenities. Beds were comfy, house was clean and the pellet stove kept the place warm. A neighbor plows the driveway.

    Carolyn2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were up at for a ski trip to Mt. Snow. The house is exactly 25 minutes from the mountain, perfect distance for us and you cannot beat the value. Check in was simple, Frank was very responsive and we would definitely stay there again.

    Ryan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Good house for a ski trip to mount snow. The pellet stove was very warm, plenty of blankets and games. A no nonsense ski house in Vermont that is bigger than it appears in photos and has a good flow and a big table to sit everyone for board games. It did snow while we were there and the drive way was a little bit of a hill up, no one came to plow so we shoveled the driveway which was fine for us but may be unexpected for other guests. All in all a great place to stay for the weekend!

    Katelyn2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Frank's. Easy to get to Bennington or Wilmington. So quiet. Comfy beds. And the pellet stove made the place so cozy!

Lovingly restored 1790's Farmhouse, on three acres with a large (swimmable!) pond in back. The First floor is an open-plan layout, with beautiful Mid-Century Modern furniture and exposed beams. We are on a mountain so it's a bit cooler than surrounding areas, and it's perfect in the summertime. Kitchen is fully loaded!
It is a very old house, hence nothing is level! People with mobility issues may want to look elsewhere. Cell phone reception is spotty at best in the area, but our wifi is really good. We are located on a main east- west route so there is traffic noise from trucks and motorcycles during the day, but it's quiet at night. Winter Guests! It's a good idea to arrive with a lock de-icer or zippo lighter for the locks. It can get very cold on the mountain. We try to clear any snow before guests arrive, but storms can come quick and hard, so you may have to clear a path to the door when you arrive. We have someone to plow anything over 2" in the driveway. There's also a snow blower in the woodshed if things get ugly. Vermont is usually pretty great at plowing the main roads early and frequently, but at least once a year Rt. 9 gets shut down because of a storm. Sadly, our pond gets drained for the winter, so no ice skating. We were surprised by this last year, but the ice, apparently, has been damaging our neighbor's 19th century dam house. Our wood stove is top-notch. All you have to do is make sure that when you start the fire or re-load the stove, you press the button on the lower right side. It will turn green. If the light is green, or there is no light you're good. If the light turns red, it needs wood. The temperature for the stove is controlled by the thermostat in the livingroom. The stove keeps the living room, kitchen and the upstairs warm and cozy. If you load up the stove before you go to bed, you can easily start it up again in the morning. We also have forced air-propane heat, which is controlled by the thermostat in the first floor hallway. Please dial it back to 60 degrees when you leave. Lastly, but importantly, there is a vent from the basement to the left of the chimney. It's important that it is clear from snow. The people that plow keep an eye on it, but if you see that a snowdrift has covered it, please clear it, as the furnace will shut down and carbon monoxide may build up in the house. This happened once last winter when we were up there.
Woodford is a tiny mountain town10 minutes from Bennington. We are close to hiking trails, Mass MOCA, Wilmington, and Manchester!
  • I highly recommend the house if you like a classic farmhouse feel with modern touches. It’s an old house with some drawbacks related to that like uneven floors and old doors, but we absolutely loved it. The road can be a bit busy with trucks at all hours but the easy access to the main road was helpful for getting around. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace is a great touch.

    Jordan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Todd's place! It's rustic and one-of-a-kind while still being stylish and modern. Beautifully decorated. We enjoyed using the kitchen, the fireplace, and the dining room table. Didn't get to explore the property due to the snow but it looked lovely and was right on the main road. Todd was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. Highly recommend!

  • The home and surrounding scenery were beautiful. We enjoyed cooking fresh vegetables from the Bennington Farmer's Market in the fully equipped kitchen. There were many options for hiking in the area and overall our stay was wonderful. As Todd points out in his description, the house sits close to a busy road and the noise was distracting and louder than we expected.

  • A stylish yet cozy gem that’s perfect for a getaway. You can relax inside the light-filled home or enjoy the beautiful nature that’s just beyond the door. Either way—you’ll thoroughly enjoy yourself. The kayak was a nice surprise and so much fun!

    Kristin2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. The property is scenic and it has a great location for visiting North Adams, Bennington, and many classic Vermont villages. The farmers market was a great resource for fresh vegetables as well as some decadent lemon cake. We recommend it without hesitation.

  • This apartment was clean, tidy, and had a cute atmosphere! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our trip to Mount Snow. It was only a 30 minute drive to the mountain, so a great option for us. Carolyn was kind and helpful and gave us a great recommendation for where to go for dinner! We will definitely be returning.

  • This property is in a great location. We were able to explore several places in Vermont and the Berkshires. Caroline was helpful, and very kind. Her property is beautiful and we enjoyed looking at the brook and farm animals. The loft is pretty basic, but Caroline quickly provided anything else we needed (extra utensils, dishes, etc.). Her dog is very sweet and got along great with our pup as well.

  • We had a fantastic weekend. The kids loves walking around the stream, the dog loves running around the woods, and we were cozy and content. Made some great meals and enjoyed them in front of the fire and fell asleep to the sound of the stream outside. Quiet and peaceful, Chuck was the best host, and we will definitely be back.

Once we made our way to the cabin it was total bliss! This place is perfect. Cleanest cabin ever! It is a wonderful spot. The cabin itself is completely comfortable. There is everything you need to enjoy your stay. For those that have issues with wells. The water here is fantastic. No odor and clean to drink. The Forrest around this cabin is breathtaking. We loved having a fire every night, and plan to work on the path next time we stay. There were more stars then you could imagine. If you want to get away of the grid, but an outhouse is not for you!! You will fall in love right away!

It's right by a beautiful stream and firepit, which we loved. The wood burning stove in the cabin kept us plenty warm and the kitchen is amazing! We had everything we needed to prepare meals. • Some friends and I stayed at Bob and Lynette’s cabin for a ski weekend. The place was in the perfect location. We especially loved the wood burning stove. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans for cooking dinner and breakfast. The layout was great since it was open concept. We had a lot of fun playing some of the games like cranium, uno and charades. It was a nice way to unplug and be together. Plus, we were even lucky enough to see some fireworks that were set off from the lake area. Would definitely recommend this place and would want to book again in the future.

  • Robert's home is beautiful with exposed wood all over and a very high ceiling in the main living area. The modern kitchen has a coffee maker and everything else you'd need to cook meals. There were lots of condiments and other items in the cabinets and fridge (though some were expired). Robert's communication was always quick which was much appreciated. There were plenty of separate areas for us all to sleep, including the basement accessed through a hatchway. There is a view of the pond and lots of windows to enjoy the scenery. Very easily accessed from route 9. The large parking area is a quick walk past the next house over. Prospect Mtn. for cross country skiing is just a mile up the road, and Bennington and Wilmington are not far for little visits to those cute towns. My friends and I had a really relaxing and fun stay!

    Harry2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great stop to cook a home made meal and stay the night before an early great day of skiing. Only 40 minutes from Mount Snow which isn’t bad at all. My finals were moved back which meant I couldn’t check in until later that night, but the hosts worked with me and was very flexible about the abrupt delay.

Welcome to State Line Bunks. We are a working homestead in upstate NY located in White Creek. Please feel free to tour the grounds and say hello to the alpaca, free range chickens and our turkey, Thomas. Well behaved dogs are welcome on the farm but must be on leash or tethered while outside.
Private, cozy bunk house with a queen size bed. Small dining area including a mini fridge, microwave, electric teapot, and filtered water. Bathroom is located in the main house just 50' away.
A peaceful, quiet setting with wonderful views. We are on a well maintained dead end dirt road, right off of the primary route from North Bennington, VT to Cambridge, NY. State Line continues as a seasonal road, so is fabulous for your morning or evening walk! The neighbors are close enough to be handy, but not so close as to be intrusive. It is equally as close to the sports pub and restaurants in North Bennington as it is to the country store in White Creek hence there is good food within 4 miles either direction!
  • This stay was a perfect getaway - the farm life was very exciting and the little house we stayed in was quaint, cozy, and accurate to its description. Definitely recommend this stay!

    Liz2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and away from noise. The animals are just outside your doors so be prepared for the calls first thing in the morning. *beware of the cat, he is super friendly and will make a move to get inside at the first opportunity*

Enter through a flowering courtyard into this one room studio style guest house with full bath, closet and sliding glass doors looking out upon a lush green landscape in Southern Vermont. Parking, wi-fi and local insight included. Hosts = AMAZING :) 5 miles to Williamstown Theater Festival, Williamstown, MA 9 miles to Mass MoCA, North Adams, MA 9 miles to Bennington, VT
Bauhaus style Tiny House at about 200 square feet.
"Old Route 7" - close to main roads and very accessible but removed enough to feel private, surrounded by greenery (Green Mountain National Forest). Gorgeous views from this country road! About 1/4 mile from Hoppy Valley Organics whose hops are used by local breweries such as Bright Ideas Brewing in North Adams, MA. Also near by is Hill Top Farm where you can find organic beef, milk, grains, maple syrup and Wildstone Farm, a beloved certified organic vegetable farm in Pownal, VT. Wildstone Farm does not have a farm store with regular hours open to the public but they do have a CSA program and their produce and eggs are found at local farmers markets in Williamstown, MA and Bennington, VT.
  • A cozy little house of your own to relax in and a perfect base that will let you explore the many things to do in the area! Everything was clean and as advertised. The bed was comfortable and had multiple pillows on it for you to find one that will work for you. It is easily accessible and the surroundings are beautiful. The hosts were very kind and I feel like they are always ready to answer any questions if you have any. They really want you to feel at ease!

This is a private room, shared bath, with double futon bed plus memory foam mattress topper, in my charming home on a quiet street at the base of Pine Cobble in Williamstown, Mass. 25-min walk to downtown area with shops, eating establishments. Close to local museums, hiking trails, colleges. I do not offer breakfast, but have granola bars and juice in your room, (coffee, tea in dining room), and sometimes make muffins on the weekend which you would be welcome to share. Parking in my driveway.
My home sits on the slope of a hill surrounded on two sides by trees, with a bit of wooded area in the back. We are in northern Berkshire county, on a very quiet street away from the center of town. Near Sterling & Francine Clark Art Museum, Williams College and Museum, Williamstown Theatre Festival, MCLA, MASS MoCA. There's a great local food co-op (Wild Oats Market), lots of hiking trails (including Mt Greylock), theater in the summers . . . it's generally a beautiful area. Directly up my street, a few minutes walk from my home, is the entrance to the Pine Cobble hiking trail. You would rent the sitting room / spare bedroom at the front of the house, which has a double futon bed with a memory-foam mattress topper. Your bedroom has direct access to the shared bathroom. (There is a separate entrance to the bathroom from the front hall.) It is a cozy sort of room with 2 windows, but somewhat spacious, with a large bookshelf full of books that you are welcome to read during your stay. In the summer months, I put a window fan in the back window of your room for some cool air during the warmer times.
The house is on a dead-end and very quiet road, with only 4 houses on the street, and so traffic is minimal. In nice weather, the enclosed front porch is a very pleasant place to relax; in winter, there is plenty of room there for storage of skis. My driveway is small, but will fit 2 cars side by side and another car behind mine. You would probably be parking beside my car on the right side of the driveway. (My roommate will probably park behind my car on the left side.) We have a local railway nearby, which is not a passenger rail. It passes close enough to my house to make some noise, so you may hear (unless you are used to it, as I am) the train passing in the evening on its regular schedule.
  • the home is a traditional new england house with everything you need, amenities, kitchen, goodies, ease of access, close to highways, near many cultural and natural venues. you feel like you are at your own home, and it is our highest recommendation.

We’re high up on the hill yet close to art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, skiing, Bennington, Manchester VT close by. Williamstown Mass not far. A huge yard. You’ll love my place because of the coziness, the light, the comfy bed, the well equipped kitchen, privacy and views, the extreme quiet and relaxation. Gorgeous waterfalls and stream, hiking. Fire pit! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and furry friends (pets). 420 friendly!
One room cottage with full kitchen and bath. Beautiful views, acres to explore including a stunning mountain stream with waterfalls. Privacy with 2 4x8' Windows make you feel one with nature. The curtains are sheer and allow morning light in. Big lawn with fire pit and plenty of woods to wander through. There’s a sofa bed for 1 too. See more pics on our IG Page - Infinity_vermont
High up on a steep hill the privacy and views are wonderful. Very little traffic goes by. Please if you're traveling in winter- this is Vermont! We often get lots of snow. The roads here are well maintained but we're up on a steep hill. Please consider booking in snow months only if you have 2 snow tires and/or all wheel drive. While they do plow often, I cannot guarantee you can get up the hill in a regular low, city type vehicle. I will not let anyone be stranded on our road, so in the worst storms I can help make arrangements. I drove Saabs with snow tires for years, but now I drive a Honda CRV with all season tires. I never have any problems personally. Thanks!
  • Very cute house off the beaten path. You leave paved roads to get to the house and that makes it even cooler and more remote. Great host and kind dog. There were a few bugs in the house but mostly lady bugs. Nothing to worry about. If you are looking to get away and be in nature, this is a great place.

    Dante2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy cabin set back off grid with everything you’ll need. The bed is just as comfy as other rave about. The on site tiny adventures and sights are great for mornings. And you can’t forget the fluffy tour guide Huxley. We and both our dogs had a great time and I would recommend this quiet cabin for a get away.

    Kristen2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have had a better experience staying at MaryJanes cabin! The listing is incredibly accurate. Perfect for a couples getaway, the cabin was cozy but still spacious & comfortable. MaryJane had plenty of suggestions & was always available for communication. The final road in the commute to the cabin can be a little rough, but we were warned & prepared. You’d definitely want to travel in an AWD vehicle. However, if I’m being completely honest- the best part was being greeted by Huxley, the estate pup, each morning. We took this gentle giant on a walk around the property also! Highly recommend for a winter weekend escape. Thank you MaryJane for your wonderful hospitality!

  • MaryJane was a great host! Super quick responses to our questions. The area was perfect for snowshoeing and had some beautiful views. We stayed during a very cold weekend but the heating provided to us was more than enough. We’d absolutely stay again.

  • Great place! Private, quiet, good place to just relax. Would recommend.

    Brandon2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mary Jane's cabin was beautiful! Very clean and well kept, just liked the listing says. The location was great too, kind of off-grid but close to towns and other bigger areas. She was very helpful with local tips regarding places to check out. And Huxley was a great visitor, sweet pup! I definitely recommend this place particularly if you are looking to travel with your dog.

  • Very clean, beautiful spot on the lake. Easy drive to Mt Snow. The beds were comfortable and the pellet stove was amazing as we watched the snow fall. Linda Jane is very helpful and attentive and we can’t wait to go back again!

  • I spent a weekend here with college friends and we had a lovely stay. We felt right at home at Linda Jane's. It's a beautiful, quiet spot right on the pond. It's right down the road from Wilmington and some great hiking spots! The home was fully equipped with everything we needed, and Linda even added some personal touches like Halloween candy, wine and apples to welcome us. I would absolutely recommend this place and come back again!

    Lindsey2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, great amenities, and a beautiful peaceful location. Dog and kid friendly!

    Liz2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Linda Jane's Moose Lodge is an amazing place to stay, with lots of fun stuff to do. We were there in summer and most our time was spent swimming in the pond and using the two stand-up paddle boards and the two canoes. We also took out the pedal boat so the kids could use the fishing rod they found at the house. We played croquet in the garden and thoroughly enjoyed sitting around a fire in the evenings. The house itself was very clean and cozy. And Linda made us feel welcome with lots of personal touches: there were little flower vases everywhere and she even left us supplies to make s'mores on our first evening. If you ever get bored and do need to get out of the house, Bennington is not too far (we were lucky enough to see the Bennington Battle Day Parade). Apart from that there are many hiking trails close by which makes this the perfect place for an active vacation. That said, you could just as well enjoy quiet time there, read a good book, and enjoy the view of the pond.

This cozy 1840's New England farmhouse is in a friendly neighborhood within walking distance to Williams College, downtown and the Clark Art. The downstairs room has its own entrance, large private bath and laundry, and a small porch on the back. I hope to stay there on my next visit to the area.
