Places to stay in Woodbury

Places to stay in Woodbury
You will feel the stresses of life wash away as you sway in the trees and listen to the sounds of the beautiful stream just feet from the treehouse deck. You'll never want to leave! Enjoy a bit of solitude or some special alone time with a loved one. It's hard to beat Stone City Treehouse to make your time away special!
*** Information regarding current Covid-19 situation and our treehouse: Due to the Vermont Governor's call to close all in-person, non-essential business and stay at home, we will not be taking reservations until April 15th at this point. Hopefully we'll be up and back at it soon! Stay happy and healthy everyone! After your day of hiking, skiing, or touring local breweries and distilleries, come home to this beautiful, private tiny house in the trees! Or, just spend the day lazily relaxing by the fire and reading, while the sound of the stream soothes you. Walk through the woods, up the stairs, and enter into another dimension - one that you won't want to leave! Much thought was put into the design and local, natural, and recycled materials were a priority in its construction. Enjoy the curated interior design while you relax in the living room space and gaze out the large, recycled windows (from an old, local schoolhouse). Enjoy the deck that overlooks the year-round stream (that may be frozen over in the winter) and let the sound of the water wash through you. You may even see some critters if you're still enough! There is a sweet sitting area, hammock, and campfire space just below the treehouse right on the stream, with a dramatic view of the treehouse. You can cook simple meals on the propane campstove (with a griddle option) or use the small charcoal grill in the space under the treehouse. There is a mini-fridge with a separate freezer to keep your fresh produce from the farmers' market and your yummy local beer nice and cool. There's a very primitive (and limited) water system you can use for washing dishes. There is a basic composting toilet in the treehouse for your convenience, but you also have access to a full, modern bathroom at the house, with a brand new, beautiful shower. When it's time for bed, climb up the loft ladder to "the nest" and sink into the brand new, comfy bed. Open up the windows to hear the nighttime sounds of the forest. We prioritize our earth and take environmental considerations into every decision: we have solar; we compost and recycle; we use environmentally friendly cleaning products; we avoid disposable items as much as possible; and we used much local and recycled materials in the construction of the treehouse. The interior structure is 10'x16' with a loft and the deck is 16'x4'.
Hardwick village is three miles away, and it's a lovely, small village with everything you'd need. The treehouse is located in the woods, by a year-round stream. It is three miles from Hardwick Village, located on 20 acres of woods, primarily maple trees and has a lovely year-round stream that flows by the house. Nearby there is plenty to do! Restaurants include: - Village Restaurant - great food, lots of local stuff, try the Jasper Hill Cheese Eggs Benedict! - Positive Pie - great pizza and beer selection. My kids love the garlic knots! Say hi to Butch, the bartender - he's an old friend! - Buffalo Mountain Co-op Cafe - lots of great options for breakfast and lunch! Focusing on local foods, and the store downstairs has everything you need. Lots of great people to meet here, too :) - The Scale House - an amazing new restaurant in town, focusing on fresh seafood from Mass, but also lots of local goodness! - House of Pizza - great pizza at a great price! This is where I always get my takeout pizza, but they do have more than just pizza. - A great new coffee shop called Front Seat Coffee! There's also the local Chinese restaurant, Yummy Wok, and Connie's Kitchen, a local bakery. Other food and beverage- related options abound in the area! - Caledonia Spirits / Barr Hill - I'm a bit bias toward this crew - I've worked for them part-time for years. But, hands-down, the best gin in the world! They had been based in Hardwick but now have a new, amazing distillery in Montpelier. If you like gin, or if you don't like gin, check it out! There's also a lovely vodka made from honey, and a unique barrel-aged gin, called Tom Cat. They've also been working hard on a whiskey that I know will be a big hit! - Hill Farmstead Brewery - voted the best beer in the world for multiple years, this is a Mecca for beer-lovers! Only 20 minutes away, it is definitely worth the trip! - Pete's Greens Farmstand - open seasonally, this is the site of the farm of one of, if not the, biggest vegetable farm in Vermont! Found in Craftsbury, also worth the 20 or so minute drive. - Hardwick Farmers' Market - also a seasonal gem, it's located at Atkins Field at 100 Granite St. in Hardwick lots of great local goodies, from veggies and cheese to plants and crafts, and everything in between! Runs Fridays from 3-6pm, June through September. - Jasper Hill Cheese - they don't have a visitors area and you can't visit the site, but you drive by them on your way to Hill Farmstead and can see the beautiful, painted barn. Amazing, internationally acclaimed cheeses - you can find at Willey's Store in Greensboro or the Buffalo Mountain Co-op in Hardwick. - Willey's Store - Located in Greensboro, you will find literally anything you need here! They have local food and beverages, regular groceries, hardware, housewares, clothing and shoes. This is a sight in itself! - Maple Syrup - Cabot Cheese - Vermont Food Venture Center Outdoor Activities (See Guidebook for more) - Local hiking - Nichols Ledge, Barr Hill, Hardwick Trails... - Local swimming - Nichols Pond, Caspian Lake - Canoeing and Kayaking - Nichols Pond, Caspian Lake, Hardwick Lake - Downhill Skiing - Stowe, Smuggler's Notch, Jay Peak, Burke Mountain are the closest, all about an hour away. - Cross Country Skiing - Highland Lodge, Craftsbury Outdoor Center - Mountain Biking - Kingdom Trails in Burke are world-renowned. You can also rent bikes, including fat tire bikes for snow, at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Entertainment - Highland Center for the Arts - Bread and Puppet - Vermont Vaudeville - Craftsbury Chamber Players - Museum of Everyday Life

  • An amazing experience! Worth every penny! Heather is an amazing host and the spot was so much better than we could have ever imagined! She’s thought of everything to make the treehouse comfy and cozy!

  • This little treehouse is so charming and cozy. It’s so nice and warm, and everything you could need is right in the treehouse. Also the porch and lights add such a nice touch. It was so very clean and no bugs even though it’s in the woods. The little creek is also so nice to hear when you wake up in the morning

    Kylie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was a great host! Her communication was perfect! All her instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. The tree house is such a cool space! She had the lights on and fireplace going when we arrived so it was cozy and warm when we arrived. We didn’t get to enjoy the porch too Much as it was rainy but we could hear the brook flowing from inside. We’d love to come back when it’s warmer and everything is green! We had an awesome little getaway.

    Sarah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Magical spot in the woods. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Annika2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such an incredible weekend away! Words can’t describe how perfect the treehouse was. Thank you x1000!

    Amanda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Heathers treehouse is a home away from home, the perfect getaway without being too far from what you need. It was everything we had expected and more! Games, books, cooking supplies, and local recommendations were all provided. We will absolutely be back!!

Our rustic cabin is tucked away in the woods, yet conveniently close to life outside the forest. Here you will find many chances to love what Vermont has to offer. Conveniently 4 miles to Hardwick, we are right between Central VT and the North East Kingdom (NEK)!
Our cabin can accommodate a family of 4-6 easily. It is a great get away location for any family or couple wanting to spend some relaxing time in the country. It is located directly on a four seasons trail that can be used for hiking, walking, biking, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, horseback riding, etc. We also have many lakes and ponds nearby that you can drive to, to enjoy a day on the water with your kayaks, fishing boats, floating rafts, or just for a nice and refreshing dip in the fresh water (there is no public beach in Woodbury, but Caspian Lake in Greensboro is 20 minutes away). The kitchen is complete with pots and pans, dish wear, silverware, dish soap, paper towels, dish towels, hand soap, salt, pepper, and coffee pot. There are sometimes condiments and other food items that are left behind. I toss anything left behind that is not perfectly fine. The bathroom is completely furnished as well with bath and hand towels, wash clothes, hand soap and toilet paper. There are sometimes shampoos and/or conditioners under the sink. The beds are made with clean fresh sheets and comforters, and we ask that you to bring your own additional blankets or sleeping bags. Our gas fireplace offers cozy warmth after a beautiful day spent out and about enjoying our scenic state as a family, a couple, or a group of friends. We also have a Rinnai heater in our entryway to keep our cabin cozy during the chilly months. The floors in the fall and winter do tend to stay chilly, so pack your slippers. :) PLEASE do not run our heat disrespectfully. Please do not run out heater or fireplace when windows are open. Our cabin has been enjoyed by every one of our guests as a comfortable and relaxing get away. Feel free to ask questions or make a special request.
Our cabin is located directly on a 4 seasons trail and there is lots to see on an evening walk or jog. Check out the many nearby abandoned quarry holes! Ask for a map! We have had many couples and many families (and even a few groups of friends) come and stay at our cabin, and sharing our little piece of "Heaven on Earth" has been exactly as rewarding as we had hoped! We are not near any big cities or major attractions. We are very rural. Please do not rate us as less than 5 stars for our location if you booked to stay at our cabin because you are looking for the city life! This is country! Thank you! :)
  • This place is the absolute CUTEST. It’s so cozy, and I have to say the master bedroom bed is like very very comfy haha. This was exactly the right place to go for the type of cozy getaway feeling we were looking for, and Cassie and Eric are by far the most responsive and kind hosts I’ve ever dealt with. Would come back in a heart beat!

    Izzy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome awesome place. My fiancé and I have been looking and stayed at a few places that we wanted right on the vast trail. This by far was our best trip. The hosts Cassie and Eric were wonderful. The place was clean, cozy and plenty of room for our vehicle and trailer. The fresh eggs were a bonus. We hit the jackpot with this spot and plan on going back.

    Penny2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • By far the best service I have received in years period, not just on air bnb. Extremely kind, caring people. Beautiful cozy cabin in a breath taking setting. The first night I got lost and ended up stuck in the snow down the street I didn’t want to tell them and wake them up because it was already much later than I was supposed to arrived they saw our tail lights got out up bed and pulled us out. They follow up the next day to make sure we were warm enough and let us know if we need anything to let them know. This place is amazing and the hosts are even more amazing.

    Zachary2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location if you want to get away!

    Andrew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything and more that we needed for our weekend away. It was super clean, Cassie responded immediately to all our communication. I will definitely hope to return in the future!

    Leslie2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cassie and Eric were excellent hosts with a wonderful little cabin. A group of friends and I went up to Vermont for the weekend and stayed at the Hidden Arrow R&R and really enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking to get away in a cozy little cabin!

    Marcus2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice cabin. Can sleep a decent amount of people. Plenty of blankets, towels and kitchen items. We had a great time and would like to come back again

    Kush2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was amazing!!! The bed was so comfortable and it was very cozy! The ambiance was perfect, the fire was awesome! We had a great time. The kitchen was stocked nicely with pots and pans. We cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner! Our son loves the upstairs and slept well because it was a separate space. The property was lovely, we took a quick walk only because it was so cold! Lots of blankets, pillows and we had quick response time whenever there was any questions. I highly recommend and hopefully we will be back!

Responding to curent events. Disenfecting, more hand soap.. Spending more time on cleaning. Remote, open, no foot traffic. For lovers of privacy, creativity, meditators, and star-gazers. Ecclectic movie and book collection. The addition has two separate bedrooms with huge glass windows and privacy. The Dome itself carries the vibe of its former life as a Yoga retreat enter and Ashram. Open space witha circular vibe. Huge tree trunk anchors the living room. It is rustic. It is unusual.
This space embodies the offbeat, free spirit of Vermont. The shape is a Dome, spiral staircase, huge shower, glass enclosed room at top. Its got a vibe for lovers of something different. New beds, fabulous hot-tub. Wood stove and propane heat. All wood, fire and glass. Very affordable. We do not double book.
    - it is totally private, and thoroughly tree-and-lake saturated. The "mission" of the house is a retreat for dancers and artists. Its quirky, with lots of interesting space for private reflection, or hanging out together. There is a golf course next to us. The Woodbury town store gives us $2.00 off pizza, Hardwick has good food. Rte 2 has antiques, Goddard College, Rainbow Sweets an incredible restaurant. )amazing deserts)
  • We came out to this house to get away from everything and just relax and this was the perfect place for us.

    Kelsey2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this unique home! We got in late and unfortunately had to leave very early but the hot tub was just what we needed after running around all day and we even got in a game or Pictionary! Perfect for a reclusive getaway!

    Jena2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Super Unique home! It was a real treat.

    Shauna2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • As the host says, don't expect 'first class hotel' level of neatness, spit and polish, etc in the house. It is easy to live in and be comfortable. There is a lot of useable space there and we only used a fraction of it. Oh, and the new hot tub is awesome; at least 6 people could use it.

    Terry2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Unique and quiet place. A+

    Eric2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as stated and then some!!! A truly unique VT experience! Went to stay to snowboard for a few days and now looking forward to coming back in the summer! Host was always quick to respond to all questions, highly recommended! If you are considering renting, do it, you will NOT be disappointed!

  • My first time using Airbnb! I had planned for this to be a surprise stay for my boyfriend on Valentines Day, and I thought that the Dome would be the perfect combination of interesting, cozy, and secluded. All of my hopes were correct. However, about a half hour after we had arrived at the dome (later at night, we had had dinner first), we were settling down to watch a movie when we heard people at the door. As it turned out, Annique had mistakenly given the guests who would be arriving the day after us the permission to come a day early, forgetting that we were scheduled for that night. We got Annique to come over from her bungalow and we sorted it out quickly - it was an honest mistake on her part, I had asked for a late check out and they had asked for an early check in, so she had thought she was talking to me the whole time rather than to them! Oops... Everything was okay, it was just my boyfriend and I so we had absolutely no problem with the two other ladies staying in the addition of the house, which does start out a big cold but [I am assuming, I didnt stay in that section] warms up from the heaters in each room. The other guests and ourselves had a bit of a laugh about the mix up, there were no hard feelings in either direction, and Annique did promise both of us a partial refund for the inconvenience. Aside from this, everything was what I had hoped it would be: The hot tub offered a beautiful view of the night sky, filled with stars, with hot water and strong jets; the Dome itself was cozy and comfortable, with its curious and intriguing design and wooden features; the woodstove warmed the place right up and there was plenty of wood -- overall I think it was just wonderful. Annique seems to be a very kind person and was very apologetic for the accidental double booking. We didn't mind at all, it certainly made it a Valentines day to remember. :)

Come escape from the daily grind at our idyllic lakeside glamping cabin. A charming oasis in the heart of the Green Mountains, this cabin offers comfort and convenience in an off-the-grid setting. Perfect for a quiet weekend getaway, writer's retreat, meditation escape, or just a chance to unwind , take a swim or go for a paddle.
Our comfortable cabin sits on a terraced hillside overlooking beautiful Greenwood Lake and the Woodbury Mountains. It has a ceiling fan and heater to keep you comfy along with a microwave, toaster, coffeemaker. However, there is no WiFi and cell service is sketchy which makes it a great spot for digital detox. We can provide you with a TV with DVD player if you wish. The spotless outhouse sports a state of the art incinerating toilet, a heater, a wash up sink with a drain, and a reading light. On the manicured grounds you'll find the upper patio with treetop views and a firepit. Next to the cabin is a picnic patio area with tables, chairs, and a park grill. Walk down the shaded path to our dock and kayak launch to take a swim or just relax, enjoy the view and look for loons. Bring your own paddle craft or rent a kayak for a small fee. Sorry, no motor craft permitted. While it does have many comforts and conveniences, be aware that this is still a glamping venue and there is no running water. We do supply water for drinking, washing, and even provide a solar shower.
In addition to enjoying peaceful Greenwood Lake, you are just a short drive from local attractions, such as Highland Center for The Arts, Jasper Hill Cheese Cellars, the charming capital city of Montpelier, Ben & Jerry's, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Stowe, Jay Peak, and Craftsbury Outdoor Center and local rail trails to name a few. The town of Hardwick, 4 miles away, boasts popular restaurants featuring locally grown fare.
  • Love the cabin! Great spot right above the lake. Nice to have a fire and enjoy the serene setting. Thanks Gary

    Arthur2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Space is pretty small great for a couple or two friends to stay the lake is a two second walk down the hill which is amazing and the fire pit is up a couple stairs. The charcoal grill and patio table is perfect for relaxing, cracking some brews, and just taking in the amazing scenery.

    Ryan2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • You will not regret this stay at Gary’s cabin. It was the perfect stay in the perfect location. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

    Justin2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful Lakeside getaway for 2. From renting kayaks to waking up in the middle of the Fall Foliage this place has it all. Unwind and grill at this Northeastern gem!

    Ross2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very tidy and lovely little house equipped with everything you need. A good bed and nice toilet located outside. It is an incinerating toilet and it works great. No running water but lots of jugs of water to drink, make dishes etc. Lucinda and Gary are great hosts, very nice and want to share about the area. The cabin is located by a wonderful lake. We had a great stay!

42 steps to paradise! Rustic cabin built in 1935 with 60 feet of private lakefront is home base for a relaxing, nature-filled, unplugged, lakefront experience. The quirky two bedroom cabin is decorated with love & the basics. Whether you enjoy kayaking, fishing, swimming, nature walks, crackling fires, brilliant stars, reading, visiting, a hot cup of tea, a cold glass of wine, creating a meal... whatever type of get-away you are looking for, it is here. 14 miles from Hill Farmstead Brewery!
Please note: You have to walk down a path that includes 42 steps from the parking area/portable toilet, to the cabin. (Your FitBit will be happy) The cabin is right on the lake. There is no running water but for a shower, you can just jump in the lake! :-) This venue offers three kayaks, fire ring (firewood available locally), charcoal grill, glider swing, lawn chairs and a picnic table. Great fishing right from the cabin or out of one of the kayaks provided; public access boat launch nearby on Rt 14. Miles of rural Vermont dirt roads for biking, walking, hiking, etc. In addition to the 2 bedrooms, the main door opens into one larger room with sofa, dining table, mini frig, microwave and electric tea kettle. The cabin was built in 1935, so you are going back in time... :-) This place is ideal for 2-3 adults who love to camp and rough it. It is not suitable for small children or people with mobility issues. No heating source provided or allowed in the cabin. No cell service, no TV, no internet. Landline provided for emergency calls. LGBTQ friendly. No running/drinking water or septic on site. Renter provides all drinking water during rental period. Portable toilet is a minute’s walk up the hill to the parking area. One might call this glorified "camping" because you've got the beauty of nature but the convenience of a roof over your head, electricity (frig, micro, a/c, tea kettle, lights, outlets), etc., but the ability to be right on the water and enjoy all the benefits of being in nature, relaxation, listening to the birds, having a campfire, etc. Renters must bring their own: bottled water, firewood, all linens including sheets (or sleeping bags), towels, etc. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out location, including all trash, recycling, bottles/can, etc. No pets.
The beauty of this place is to relax and commune with nature and enjoy the lake. Hardwick is 10 minutes away with the standard pizza place and a diner; Montpelier is 30 minutes away, Vermont's capital, with dynamic restaurants, movie theatres (traditional and independently owned), sites to see and shops.
  • If you’re looking for peace and quiet this is the location you want to stay at. If you’re looking for luxury look elsewhere. More of a glamping experience. Which is what makes this space so special Patricia was right on with all her information concerning your stay. Would definitely stay here in the future

    Susan2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cabin sits right on the lake! We spent many hours just sitting by the lake sipping tea with books in our hands and enjoying the shifting light on the water surface and trees on the other side of the lake. After dark, stars studded the sky like you do not see in cities. In short, it is a perfect place for relaxation. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer then two nights. The cabin is simple without running water, and the toilet is a short walk up to where you park the car. The cabin has electricity, with fridge and a hot water kettle. Drinking water can be collected at a local well just a short drive (1.5 miles) from the cabin. You need to bring your own bed covers and pillows, but there are also some blankets (one electric) provided in the cabin. Our first night was really cold, so I added a blanket to my own. There are kayaks and life vests to borrow for people who want to go out on the lake, which we did several times. There is both a fire pit and a grill with tools and some wood to use, or you just bring your own. Patricia gives you a very extensive list of suggested items to bring, which was very helpful. The cabin was actually bigger than we had expected, and can easily accommodate three persons, with a roomy living room as well. It is a great place, great value, and the check in/out process is smooth as can be! Highly recommended to people who are looking for a simpler life for a few days!

    Tobias2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Patricia's cabin. She was very responsive and gave us a lot of tips about what to do in the area. The cabin is rustic but has many amenities (firepit, kayaks, board games) to enjoy the place. We would definitely recommend this place!

    Lisa2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and great location, and by the way in case you have xfinity account, there is a WiFi signal.

    Mohammed2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. It was a nice size cabin right on the lake. It is truly one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen. We enjoyed it so much. There were many nice things about the cabin. Extra blankets, bug spray, dishes, anything you might have forgotten. Patricia was so thoughtful. The kayaks were a great bonus. We did an amazing early morning kayak. The fire pit, bbq. Everything was ready and easy to use. It was a great stay!!

  • We had a wonderful time at the house, the location is perfect, we enjoyed kayaking, I highly recommend it

    Douaa2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely spot to spend a night at. Here are a few tips that might be helpful: - You will need slip-resistant shoes to run up and down the hill. I was glad I brought my hikers. - Bring extra towels to wipe the outdoor furniture with in case of rain. - I kind of wished I had brought a more comfortable chair for star gazing although there is no shortage of standard outdoor furniture. - You will see and hear neighbors, boaters, cars passing by - and yet it will still feel private and peaceful. - Surprisingly, we did not need bug spray at all. - The hummingbird feeders were a nice touch. I had never seen so many hummingbirds in one spot.

The cabin and has a wonderful porch with rocking chairs. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from your rocking chair. There is a large, well equipped kitchen, open space floor plan, new shower unit and plenty of closet space in the bedroom. Easy access to VAST snowmobile trails, within an hour's drive to 3 ski areas (Stowe, Smuggler's Notch and Jay Peak), X-Country skiing right outside the door or in Craftsbury or Stowe. Elmore State Park is 3 miles away. The cabin is quiet, private and unconnected.
The cabin is the perfect get-a-way. Limited cell phone service, no internet.
The Elmore General Store, 3 miles away, has amazing Pizza. In the summer you can swim, paddle and hike to the fire tower on Elmore Mountain at the State Park. Hiking, biking and skiing can be done on the Lamoille Valley Rail trail. Several golf courses are located nearby.
  • We loved staying at the Piggy Palace! It's such a cozy little cabin with a beautiful view. The check-in and check-out instructions were super easy, and Peggy was so friendly. We'd love to stay here again and definitely recommend it!

  • Our stay at Meadow Woods Cabin was the perfect winter retreat. Quiet and cozy with all the amenities and charm placed in a beautiful part of Vermont. We were able to ski right out our back door and surrounding ski areas. The cabin was spacious and spotless with lovely sunsets from off the front porch. Our hosts were super friendly and always willing to help with suggestions of places to see or eat. I look forward to going back again.

    Kate2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and cozy cabin! We stayed here on our ski vacation instead of staying closer to Stowe and we are glad we did. This cabin was cute and charming. Peggy and Steve went out of their way to help us get two-for-one ski ticket and helped us when our little car got stuck on ice. The area is so cute and much quieter than Stowe but still has cute restaurants and breweries nearby. Definitely recommend!

    Kristin2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at this cabin! Warm, cozy and with great views. Surrounded by snow covered woods, it was like a winter fairytale! Close to xcountry skiing trails. Peggy is a very friendly host. We would love to come back sometime!

  • This is the perfect getaway cabin. If you want a tech free retreat where you can truly be absorbed by the beauty of Vermont. All while being within an hour of just about everything you could want to do. I can stress enough how perfect our stay in this cabin was. I cannot be more appreciative

Our cozy mid century cabin is tucked up on a hill in a peaceful secluded forest. Beautiful views and 6.5 acres of open land where you can play games, enjoy the fire pit, relax in the hammock and walk the paths. There is also plenty to do and see in the area to get a full experience of Vermont.
The space is bright and open with a spiral staircase leading to a second floor loft. The furnishings and decor are all mid century (from when the cabin was built in 1972). A perfect getaway for families, a group of friends or couples alike. There are two twin beds up in the loft space as well as two couches and a fun collection of vintage games to play. The living room / dining area has a piano, a library of vintage books and a Roku tv with a dvd player. Sliding glass doors lead out to the deck. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, dishes, utensils, toaster oven, microwave, coffee pot and more. The bathroom has a shower and is stocked with clean towels. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a side room that also has a queen bed. People that stay in the side room have to go through the master bedroom to get to the bathroom. There are many activities to enjoy in the area including hiking and VAST trails, apple picking, Cabot creamery, microbreweries and more! Be sure to view the Guidebook we made for you!
It is a very rural neighborhood with few neighbors that are not close. The roughness of the road keeps the traffic down to a couple of cars a day. It is very quiet with almost no man-made noise. There is a cow pasture up the road, and apple trees and berries along the paths. Cabot town is a less than a 10 minute drive.
  • Our stay had to be cancelled due to Mother Nature the day of our arrival because of inclement weather in the Cabot, VT area. There were widespread power outages, trees down, washed out roadways, etc. due to a severe storm. Ed contacted us before we were scheduled to hit the road for the five hour drive to VT to update us on the local conditions, and worked with Airbnb to get our trip canceled and refunded due to the widespread inclement weather impacting travel throughout that area. Ed was quick to respond, helpful, and we hope to re-book for Ed’s listing next year in the spring when the weather is more cooperative.

  • Wow, just wow. What an amazing place to disconnect for a bit. My fiancé, me and our energetic dog absolutely loved our stay. We were up for a wedding weekend and this spot was the perfect distance away from the festivities. We had no issue on the road up to the cabin in our 2WD which is also low to the ground. Definitely take the upper road (one up from Blodgett) if you’re concerned. Highlights of cabin: fire pit (we used it almost every day!), large yard great for lawn games and hyper dog to run around, upstairs game area inside, porch to sip coffee in morning! Check out Harry’s Hardware up the road for the local experience and tasty beer and food! We would definitely come back! Thank you, Ed!

  • Beautiful cabin in the middle of a magical forest

    Hila2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ed’s place radiates with good energy. You can tell there were many happy times in this cabin! The property was absolutely stunning. Our dogs never want to leave! We utilized the garden for breakfast, which Ed generously offers. Don’t miss this gem of a place!

    Jenny2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend Ed and family’s place to anyone looking for a chance to reconnect with nature, in privacy, and get a good nights sleep. We loved Ed’s place, it was the perfect size for us 4 adults and our dog. (But there’s sleeping for more if needed!). There is a 3/4ths bathroom. The sulfur smell people reported on is not at all bad and only present (for us) when using the water - but this is to be expected when the water comes from a well. Nevertheless, this was never an issue. Short drive to Cabot Creamery, apple picking, tons of trails/hiking opportunities, Sarah’s country diner, and more. We enjoyed the garden, hammock, and cow pastures nearby. Great weekend overall!

    Tania2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED this place. It was so unbelievably generous of Ed to offer fresh produce from the wonderful garden, and the place itself is beyond cozy, and has everything and more we could possibly have needed! We felt right at home and didn't want to leave!

    Anneke2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to unwind and take in some great views with friends / family. It was very inviting and peaceful. The garden is a wonderful treat! We were able to adjust our meals to include roasted vegetables and they were delicious. The yard is perfect for playing large group games such as whiffle ball and badminton. One of our favorite things about this place was the porch. Enjoying coffee in the morning on the porch watching the day start was serene. The road is fine if you go slow! We had a low riding Ford Focus ST and we drove the back side of Blodgett rd off of Jugg Brook as Ed advised and it was fine. Walking up the road was also fun, especially seeing the cows grazing nearby. We ended up going to Burlington on one of the days we were there and the drive wasn’t too long and was beautiful. All in all, a great time!

    Reyleigh2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect cabin for a peaceful getaway. The cabin is thoughtfully stocked with just about anything one would need. The gardens are lovely. We enjoyed some fresh produce from the vegetable garden and the blueberries right off the deck will be ripe in a few weeks. Our dogs enjoyed roaming around and frolicking on the lawn. While the cabin feels very quiet and remote (only 1 car passed in the 3 days we were there), it is only a 10 minute drive into the town of Cabot or about 15 minutes to Marshfield. We came in on the lower road when we first arrived, which was a bit of a driving experience, but after that stuck with the upper road which is a little more maintained. We enjoyed some local outings: Greensboro: Hill Farmstead Brewery is a popular destination. While in the area, we like to stock up on groceries at Willey's Store and, across the street, Millers Thumb gallery is a great place to shop for local crafts. Danville has some good restaurants, a larger grocery store (Albert's 1st Stop) and a public beach at Joe's Pond in West Danville (no dogs allowed on the beach though). Cabot: We stopped in to the Den at Harry's Hardware for a beer and some local flavor. We didn't tour the Cabot Creamery because we had our dogs with us, but I'm sure this would be worth doing. Walden: we did a little research to find out how to get to Cheever's Falls. There is a parking spot on Hines Place off of Noyestar Road. From there it is about a 15 minute hike to the falls. The trail is a bit mucky at times, with some fallen logs, but the trail is easy to follow. Marshfield: We made our way over to Rainbow Sweets, not really knowing what to expect. We certainly weren't expecting European-quality baked goods in this eccentric little cafe. We stayed for a few courses (Greek spinach pie and Moroccan b'stilla, then Austrian plum tart and poppy seed buttercream cake) and almost stayed on to sample the fresh out the oven walnut caramel tart. Impressive!

The Vermont cottage is located in Woodbury, about a half hour northeast of Montpelier. It is very private, on over a hundred beautiful acres of hills and fields and woods. It is fully equipped with the basics - towels and linens, kitchen and cooking
It is small and cozy with one bedroom and a couch in the living room that opens up into a queen size bed. In the warm months you might enjoy the deck on the back, the rocking chair on the front porch or your own private swimming pond. In the colder months you can cross country ski or snowshoe from your doorstep (if you want to get up from the rocker in front of the wood burning stove, that is).
This is a very tranquil and private location.
  • This place is just dreamy! The property was so private and picturesque while still being accessible to the main road. Claudia met us at the cottage with a warm welcome and offered to start the fire for us to warm the place (which we declined because we had to check in then head right back out). After a quick tour we felt completely at home and couldn’t wait to return that evening to really settle in. The wood stove did an amazing job getting the place super cozy in no time and we thoroughly enjoyed reading in the rockers right next to the fire. The bed is very comfortable with heavy down comforters perfect for sleeping in. Sunrise through the kitchen windows was such a nice way to begin our day. There’s so much light streaming into the cottage, it’s just beautiful! We set up our yoga mats in the sunlight in the main room right in front of the wood stove and had a gorgeous practice, which we followed up with a wonderful short hike around the property. We can not wait to come back for a visit in the other seasons!

  • Our fourth year in a row visiting the cabin for a long winter weekend and it gets better and better every time. Incredible snow, scenery, quiet, warm wood stove, clear sky with stars ... a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Looking forward to year No. 5!

  • A beautiful cottage on a quiet, peaceful piece of property in central Vermont. We had a wonderful weekend. Thank you Claudia.

  • My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Claudias’. It is an old style wooden cabin- that we loved exploring. My husband felt we could have experienced the property better had we come in summer . It was a little cold for us to relax by the pond. The pond and the views up the hill with fall colors next to the house made it a pretty sight though.

    Harshita2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really cool off-the-grid cabin but not too far from town.

    Henry2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I and our 4-yr-old spent four nights here and I wish it could have been twice as long. The entire area is stunningly beautiful, and the land around the cabin is no exception: wild flower fields, woods, a huge meadow of mosses, ferns, and grasses (with a resident grouse) and then the swimming pond. We spent our time swimming, hiking the mostly empty, hilly local roads through woods, farms and wetlands, picking strawberries at the neighbors’ pick-your-own, and relaxing with the nice collection of puzzles and books in the cabin. There is no wifi and we had no cell service, which was a vacation in itself. Claudia made sure we had everything we needed and was always just a landline phone call away (there’s a phone). She gave us great tips for walking routes, the strawberry farm, driving directions to a family event in a nearby village, and shared my awe at spotting an endangered species near the cabin. There were plenty of towels, tp, kitchen items, and bedding. The bed was super comfy too. One tip for visitors during the growing season: bug spray! Apply liberally and often and you’ll be just fine.

Beautifully restored apartment with hardwood floors, high ceilings, mid-century modern decor, and large bay windows with views to the Lamoille River.
Fully equipped and furnished two-bedroom apartment in the quaint village of Hardwick, Vermont. It is in a renovated 1895 historic building and has a full kitchen and dining/living area. Large bay windows offer lovely views of the Lamoille River. The apartment is only a few steps from several popular restaurants. A gym is located a block away. A food co-op and grocery store are within easy walking distance. The Hardwick Trails, six miles of woodland hiking, are less than half a mile away. World-reknowned brewery, Hill Farmstead Beer, is in nearby Greensboro. Caledonia Spirits distillery, with its tasting room including its top-shelf gin, is just down the road. Local swimmable lakes include Caspian Lake, Wolcott Pond and Green River Reservoir (also with non-motorized boat access). The rental is within easy driving distance of local ski resorts and near to Stowe, Greensboro, Smugglers Notch, and Montreal. It is also located near longer hiking trails, including the Appalachian and Long trails, mountain biking trails, canoeing and kayaking, cross-country skiing, and lots of good antiquing. The Village of Hardwick has become known as a sustainable food center, and was featured in the book, "The Town that Food Saved," by Ben Hewitt. Small food producers, such as the Cellars at Jasper Hill cheeses, Vermont Soy products, Pete's Greens, High Mowing Seeds, and the Vermont Food Venture Center cluster in and around the town.
  • Claudia has a great place in a charming Vermont town. It is as beautiful as the photos. There is a great pizza place downstairs with good food and a great atmosphere. There is a also an awesome coffee shop / bakery downstairs which is fabulous and a grocery co-op next door.

  • This little gem was perfect! Claudia is super kind and helpful. She gave us plenty of tips and brought snow shoes and games for my kids. The apartment itself was darling! The aesthetics of the interior, paired with the incredible views, really set this place apart. The kitchen was stocked with spices, oils, cookware and coffee. The town was darling! A bar and pizza place were right beneath us, and the Village cafe was right across the street. We really enjoyed strolling around the quaint little town, crossing the bridge and chatting with the friendly locals. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to return!

    Anna2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot. We enjoyed being able to go downstairs for supper, or just down the street to the coop for groceries. Some noise from Positive Pie downstairs, but it never went late (and we went to bed by 10, at that). I loved being able to watch the town wake up in the mornings as well as the convenience of Craftsbury and highland lodge to go skiing in the afternoons.

During VT COVID "Stay-At-Home" orders, we are closed until at least 4/15. Snow tires (w/ 4WD best) a requirement for dirt road driving (Note: rental cars don't have snow tires). Our cozy 1830's cabin on 10 acres is just down the road from a breathtaking view over the Northeast Kingdom. It is on a well-maintained dirt road with virtually no traffic but the mailman once a day. Open floor plan (no doors to bedrooms). Not right fit for children under 7 yrs (non-mobile babies ok).
The house is undeniably rustic but furnished with well-loved antiques. Near the VAST trails, with rural roads for biking, hiking, and walking, snowshoeing. Also local microbreweries and even our very own hardware store/restaurant/brewpub right down the hill in the village of Cabot. And, of course, Cabot Creamery - with a Visitor's Center open much of the year, where you can taste all of their award-winning cheeses! We also have Netflix and Amazon Prime available for watching on the television in the living room as well as a DVD player (in the TV).
A rural neighborhood with two small farms on either end of short dirt road. No neighbors too close (all inhabited houses obscured by trees, etc.) with the exception of the foxes and other wildlife that are abundant in the fields and forests! Famous view at the end of the road and just 7 minutes drive from Cabot village with a general store, breakfast/lunch cafe and brewpub.

UPDATE 8/5: SlTE CLOSED UNTIL BUILDING FINISHED. WILL OPEN CALENDAR BACK UP WHEN FINISHED. THE STRUCTURE- Unavailable for construction for new Airbnb. We are starting this transition in June. You'll love staying on our property because you'll have full access to the 7 acres. We live the next town over. Less then 10 minutes away. Complete privacy from any neighbor. Our property has the VAST trail directly attached. During the Summer/Spring/Fall seasons you can walk to the trail.
The area is in the country but a located close to small towns for needs. Cabot is 5 minutes away, Danville is 10 away and Hardwick is 15 minutes away. You can't see the neighbors. But if loud enough they may here you or vice versa. We had many family get togethers when my dad lived across the street with fire works for 4th of July with no complaints. I want guest to have fun but please no fights or yelling. Should the neighbors complain we may not be able to continue the camping fun.
  • I had an awesome time staying on Jessica’s property. It was in a beautiful location perfect for my mountain biking trip. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating while still giving me plenty of privacy. Can’t wait to come back!

  • The property is wonderful, secluded and quiet, and they have provided wonderful accommodations for a camp spot. Our pup loves being able to run around and as our second stay here we had some friends join us with their dog as well. The night sky is clear and gorgeous, and we were close enough to town to take a half day trip in to explore. We highly recommend their property.

  • Outstanding stay! I was totally expecting just a plot of grass begat I could set up a tent on, but Jessica and her family blew me away! The were super helpful when suggesting good local breakfast places with real Vermont maple syrup too! 10/10 would come back if I’m in Vermont again!

  • This is an amazing spot! The property is beautiful and secluded. We had a great time and for a camp site there were more amenities than we ever would have expected or needed. They communicated with us quickly and stopped by when we arrived to say hi and make sure we had everything we needed. We didn't leave the site but they had a book with some area places to eat and see. Definitely recommend staying here, we will be for sure.

Come spend a couple of nights with us in our lovely apartment (with our two cats) located right in Woodbury village, in the heart of Central Vermont. We are right smack in the middle of beer and growler trails, near gorgeous lakes, ponds, snowmobile trails, hiking, great hidden gem places for food, coffee, antiques, cross-country and downhill skiing and snowboarding! We love to spoil you with homemade treats at night and a full home-cooked breakfast before you head out in the morning.
We endeavor to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. That can mean plenty of privacy to get a good night's sleep in our comfortable bed, or fun conversation so that you feel like you are visiting with friends. Our apartment is spacious and has two adorable cats. (We love animals but unfortunately we cannot accommodate them here). We make a yummy customized breakfast each morning at the time that's convenient for you (we are one of the few in the area to provide breakfast), which saves both time and money when heading out for a day of fun and adventure. A few options are: delicious local organic coffee, an array of teas, locally made bread and your choice of eggs, bacon/sausage and toast with butter and jam, a breakfast sandwich or french toast with bacon/sausage. (Vegan, vegetarian, dairy or gluten free options available with advanced notice) In summer, the room has A/C, and in colder weather, it's mighty cozy in that room. Snuggle up at night with your laptop or tablet and a homemade treat and life is good... There are two great restaurants within 5 miles of here and we have a yummy dessert waiting for you when you arrive for the night. We know a lot about the local breweries and incredible crafts and artisanal food, hiking trails and swimming holes, snowmobile trails and good places to cross country and downhill ski, snowboard or other sports. We can point you to places to put in your canoe or kayak, and have a list of cool and weird off-the-beaten-track spots, so if you are ready for an adventure, we can help!
Woodbury is a town of gently rolling hills, lots and lots of lakes and ponds. There is a boat access to put in for canoeing and kayaking and we can probably find a way to get you in some cool water on a hot day to swim or in winter, a lake to ice fish on. The nearby mountain biking trails are legendary, and bring people from all over the world. In winter, the snowmobile trails are practically outside our doorstep! Miles of gorgeous hiking trails nearby and within a short drive, there is access to mountain biking, snowshoeing and cross country and downhill skiing. (not to mention the water park at Jay Peak!) We are smack dab in phenomenal beer country! We are a hop, skip and a jump from: Hill Farmstead Caledonia Spirits Green Mountain Distillery Red Barn Brewing The Alchemist Idletyme Ten Bends Von Trapp St J Lost Nation Rock Art Stowe Cider Next Trick Lawson's (Sip of Sunshine) and not that far from: Foam, Farnham, Foley Brothers, 14th Star, Burlington Brewing, Fiddlehead, Frost, Four Quarters, Goodwater, Zero Gravity, Switchback, and more! Not to mention great food, antiquing, and just driving around enjoying the breathtaking scenery. We are just at the outskirts of the Northeast Kingdom and route 100 (voted most scenic in the country) is close by.
  • Comfy bed, delicious breakfast, and very nice hosts.

Breakfast was great (never had jam on a breakfast sandwich but will from now on), and got some WONDERFUL local tips. My trip would not have been the same without the local suggestions...Onions is the town love bug and Growler is the town gaurd.

Looking for the quintessential Vermont experience? Find it here in this 1875 farmhouse in the heart of Maple Corner, an artsy community 15 min north of Montpelier. The farmhouse is clean, peaceful, and close to outdoor adventures as well as great live music. You're free to relax in the spacious room with a cozy bed & large back porch (plus enjoy full access to the house's common areas), explore Curtis Pond, or experience live music at the Whammy Bar (live music, great food, local brews).
Maple Corner is an iconic part of Vermont with a vibrant community of artists, musicians, farmers, and outdoor enthusiasts. My house is right across the street from the Maple Corner Community Center, which offers yoga classes on Mondays and Wednesdays as well as a number of other events you can attend. You can find the calendar online. The Maple Corner Store is a true gem. The house is just 100 feet from the store. There's a great bar and live music venue in the back of the store called the Whammy Bar. If you're here on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night, be sure to stop by the bar to hear live music. The community also has an extensive trail network - great for running, biking, and skiing. If you're interested in using these trails, they're public and I can help you find the trailheads. My favorite places in the neighborhood are: Curtis Pond, the Whammy Bar, Kent Corners, and Old West Church.

  • Elizabeth always stayed in communication and provided everything we needed for our stay. The place was immaculate and absolutely beautiful. The cat was also amazing 10/10 would pet again. Next time I visit northern Vermont I will most likely stay here again. It's in a quiet area but close enough to the cities and towns most people look to visit.

  • Wow! WHAT A SPOT. I put friends up here from NYC and DC and they were completely over the moon. Between the friendly cat and the hip decor, they were in heaven. The bed was very comfortable and the room was super warm despite it blizzarding outside. This is a gem of a place. Highly recommend!

  • This host was very easy to reach and great to work with.

    Brian2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth’s house is very cozy, with lots of character and decorated with care which gives it real personality. The host was welcoming and helpful, suggesting things to check out in the area. She is responsive and procedures to check in are extremely clear and well detailed. If you’re a cat lover, you will surely fall for their pet like we did, the friendliest and most affectionate kitty we’ve ever seen.

  • A really nice spot with excellent hospitality! Thanks Melissa!

  • Absolutely beautiful space! Melissa and Michael are so kind and welcoming it made our trip excellent!

    Taramay2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was great! Melissa and her family were always available to help out and were very friendly. Great place to stay!

    Raudo2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's home is absolutely beautiful and will exceed your "New England in the Fall" expectations. Melissa was very easy to communicate with - both before and during our stay. Our room was comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. We did not get to experience many of the amenities due to our schedule - but the living areas and the hot tub looked great. If you're planning a short visit to the area and need a base of operations, this is it. Quick walk to the local coffee shop and restaurant. We'd definitely stay again!

    Kaitlin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s place is great old house with lots of character. She was a great host and I would come back.

    Clint2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s house is amazing. Not only is it huge, but it’s very unspoiled, with gleaming wooden details. Melissa’s a generous host; guests are given wide access to much of the house, including a hot tub, a whirlpool tub, and a comfortable living room, as well as a lovely balcony—and I’m sure I’m leaving out the kitchen and more. Melissa responded very quickly to my inquiry, which was great, as it was about to turn dark and my sister and I hadn’t found a place to stay. The town is a short walk away, and it’s as charming a place as you could dream up. Melissa’s house was super quiet and a very welcome and peaceful refuge.

    Deborah2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Michael were so warm and gracious...and engaging. Their gorgeous home reflects the pride they have in their space and I was so grateful to have been able to stay there. I had run a race the day I checked in and was excited about using the hot tub right on their charming front porch in their very safe neighborhood! Melissa had that ready for me and I was completely appreciative of them and their lovely, lovely space...even let me bond with their very cute dog, Pebbles. You won't be disappointed here...a stunning space with the perfect host and hostess...thank you again Melissa and Michael.!!

    Lennie2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa was a great host! She replied quickly to my messages. My only regret is that I didn't have any time to enjoy her home. Great sitting rooms, big kitchen and a couple of dining areas. Lots of outdoor space. Big yard. Couple of great front porches. No one else was staying so I had a bathroom to myself, which was nice. Great location. You can walk downtown. near a really sweet library. Very safe street and area. Thanks Melissa for our chats.

  • Had an amazing few days at Mike’s place! The views from the front porch are spectacular, and the cabin is so cozy. It has everything you could need - including comfy hotel robes! Loved having coffee in the morning on the front porch. This place has fantastic views and was the perfect New England getaway that was both rustic and fairly close to “town” stuff. Just a short trip to major mountains, we’d definitely come back for some ski time. Would absolutely stay again! Thanks again, Mike!

    Danielle2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mike's cabin is a comfortable rustic home in a very beautiful location. It is warm and cozy, and has plenty of charm. It feels like you are in the middle of no where but it is only about a 10 minute drive from the town of Hardwick which has great places to eat. We enjoyed our time there thoroughly

Country charm, many windows, pine floors throughout. Perfect for a summer, fall or winter getaway or place to stay near family for special Vermont events. 1 twin daybed and 1 full size bed in living room with Directv. Upstairs is a queen mattress on the floor as another option. No living room furniture since beds are there. House has dining room table, kitchen with island and stools, full bathroom, wifi, and ground level entrance. Listing shows 5 beds but there are 3 beds (but can sleep 5).
The apartment is ideal for 3 individuals or a couple with a child. Dishes, coffeemaker, toaster ,full size refrigerator and stove/oven, dishwasher. Sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, kitchen towels and cookware are provided. Refrigerator can be stocked for an additional fee above the items purchased. Coffee, tea, sugar provided but bring your own cream, milk and other food supplies. Microwave oven may be used if my son is around and can guide you (it's in the hallway at the bottom of the house stairs to his private apartment).Suggest bringing your own pillows. I always travel with mine!
The house is just off Rt. 14 in a little grouping of houses that once was a thriving self-contained village with many mills. It's a great place and reasonably priced for a ski weekend or just a get-away. Since the house is on a paved road and visible from the main road (rt. 14) it can be well traveled in the mornings and later afternoons.
  • Susan’s place was definitely 5 out of 5 stars. Awesome and unique spot with a great view.

    Birgit2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Had an awesome weekend stay at Susan’s 1790’s farmhouse. The house retains a lot of the original old farmhouse charm. Loved the original flooring and the skeleton key front door. It’s not a 5 star resort but it was exactly what we were looking for. Not much right around the house but a small town about 10 minutes away with a few restaurants and shops. Pretty much no cell reception near the house but there is cable and WiFi that was sufficiently fast. Great house for the cost. Easy drive to Montpelier.

    Tony2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The space was beautiful and very homey. We spent a day touring around Stowe, VT which I highly recommend and make sure you check out Connie’s Kitchen 10min away (amazing bread, even bought a loaf of bread home from them). Thanks Susan!

Beautiful cabin on Woodbury lake! There are four beds upstairs and one downstairs, fits 6 comfortably with plenty of room. You have a great view from the porch with beautiful sunsets. There are kayaks and canoes that you can use as well as a water trampoline at your own risk :-) There is plenty to do on the lake all summer, with music on the weekends at neighboring camps and fun lake activities. We provide showering towels and toiletries, fresh linens. Life vests and floats are available.
Rustic lake cabin! Come and enjoy the calming sounds of nature!
  • Anita's little lake house is awesome! The best stocked airbnb I've ever stayed in-all the water things plus a sweet little deck right down at the lake! Tons of sleeping spaces and great views. Super communicative, check-in and out was super easy. Close to great hikes and local spots.

  • I love this hidden gem so much! Even if you live in the area, it is the perfect place to get away for a night or two. The kitchen was stocked with cookware, so we brought our groceries and had everything there to cook with! We stayed nice and toasty with the heater, and had plenty of movies to choose from between Hulu, Netflix, and the DVD’s available. The place was so clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay. It was private, quiet, and calm. It was absolutely perfect. Nick and Liz are great hosts!! Highly recommend :) Can’t wait to come back sometime!

The bedroom is an awesome place to sleep and the book exchange was a nice surprise. I would definitely come back again- we wished we could stay longer.

    Eren2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful! My girlfriend and I stayed only one night, but its unique charm had us wishing that we could've stayed longer.

  • This A-frame property gives everything two people may need. Much more spacious then I expected from the pictures! Made every meal here with ease and watched every sunrise from the loft window. Talked to chickens a little as they were cold and didn't want to talk much. Saw moose tracks and enjoyed the beautiful stars at night. What more do you need from a Vermont vacation?

  • Breakfast was homemade and hearty with locally-sourced ingredients, delicious way to start the day exploring this part of beautiful Vermont. Gracious hosts who were unobstrusive but always available when needed. We enjoyed wonderful conversations over breakfast, weather was chilly but we felt warm and welcomed by Gail and Strat.

    Carol2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • I so very much enjoyed my bucolic stay at Gail and Strat's house. I took my dog for a nice walk down the road in the morning before breakfast and enjoyed the mountain views and pine air immensely. Gail made breakfast for us, complete with delicious, homemade apple butter. They also saved my day by suggesting I make a slight change to my itinerary and visit the ski resort town of Stowe, which was wonderful. I can't wait to visit again!

    Tyra2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gail is by far the most inviting and hospitable host that I've ever met through traveling! We shared many great stories over breakfast in the morning. The views from the home were incredible. I can't recommend this place enough!

    Kimberly2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean spacious area, loved the room heater in the bath room that doubles as a towel warmer! Gail made a delicious breakfast, accommodating my food intolerances beautifully and spoiling my husband with treats made from local bounty...

  • Very peaceful and quiet home away from home in a nice house on top of a hill with marvelous views. The guest space consists of a lovely, large living room with separate bedroom and large bathroom and has its own entrance. Gail and Strat are the sweetest! My home is on a very quiet road and your bedroom has a nice view of the river and quaint Montpelier. Please note, however, that the view includes an overlook of a busier route. Neither I, nor the overwhelming majority of my guests, are bothered by the white noise of Berlin street, however about 2% of them have commented on it. As such, I want to share it with you in advance. :-)

Small food producers, such as the Cellars at Jasper Hill cheeses, Vermont Soy products, Pete's Greens, High Mowing Seeds, and the Vermont Food Venture Center cluster in and around the town.
  • Great spot in a cool town.of you are looking for a place to stay in Hardwick don’t hesitate to stay here.

  • Claudia’s place is a restful and beautifully decorated apartment in Hardwick. We loved the open kitchen and amenities, the comfortable beds, and the modern washer and dryer conveniently located inside the apartment. Check in was smooth and easy (self-check in using a lockbox), and Claudia reached out ahead of time to make sure that we were situated. The location was so perfect for a Vermont winter getaway - close to coffee shops, local bookstore, restaurants as well as only a 20-30 minute drive to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. We would wholeheartedly 100% stay at Claudia’s place again.

    Catherine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Claudia is a great host and her home is stylish, cozy, and comfortable. The location is fantastic with close access to winter activities - nordic skiing trails in town and at Craftsbury Outdoor Center to make just a few. There is a fabulous coffee shop next door with excellent baked-in-house goods and a tasty pizza restaurant below the apartment. This was the perfect place to stay for our family of 3 on a weekend getaway. We would happily stay here again!

    Tony2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for those wanting to be close to skiing. Very cozy place and Claudia went out of her way to make our stay smooth. Thanks

  • Always a great stay when hosted by Claudia! Super clean and great location.

    Taylor2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great space right in town. Was able to connect with the Bluetooth speaker and WiFi with no issues. Fully stocked kitchen was great for cooking meals. Easy off street parking. Very clean and bright space. Would stay again and recommend to others

    Thomas2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Claudia's place was a very stylish 2 bedroom unit in a renovated three-story-brick building. Parking was easy. The place was very clean and had everything you needed for your stay. The town is small and cute. The pizza place on the first floor of the building is excellent. Good food and craft beers. We skied at Stowe and the ride was about 45 minutes and scenic. We would definitely stay there again.

    Thomas2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful trip. Claudia was very responsive and her place was beautiful and as described. Right in the middle of town which was very handy.

This camp is located on Greenwood lake in beautiful Woodbury VT! It provides access to the lake from two different places. Located on a peninsula, this cabin has year round activities from swimming, kayaking, boating, hiking, biking, tubing, fishing, cross country skiing, and just plain relaxing! Fire pit/Horse shoes/Badminton/Outdoor Grill. Great Blue Heron & Loons share the pond. Hardwick (4 miles) has live music, craft beers, great food & friendly folks! 25 min drive to Montpelier VT!
Glorious relaxing space! Time out from hectic living can be found here!
    Quiet
  • Kristin's camp is beautifully situated on Greenwood Lake. We saw and watched as many as SIX loons, and watched two of them take off. The The camp is well outfitted and comfortable, with a new bed in the master bedroom. Surroundings are quiet, with no noise during the night. It's a great spot. Peter Wells promptly replaced the gas grill that was malfunctioning. How about that! Jerry and Fran Allyn

  • Our family of four loved staying here. When choosing this place for a quiet family getaway, I noted that a previous reviewer said this house has “everything you need and nothing you don’t”, and that really spoke to me. It was true for us, too. We were comfortable in every way that we wanted to be—cozy beds, all the kitchen things, a comfortable couch—while keeping everything really simple. Time on the lake was serene and precious. What a luxury to kayak around this beautiful lake right after making breakfast for the family in the cozy kitchen. We hope to come back!!

    Millie2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great space for a family and for a quick getaway from the daily din of city living. Lovely views , extremely functional and quaint space and best of all -Kristin was super welcoming and oriented us to the house very well upon arrival(to the extent that we didn't even have to bother her with questions during our stay). We enjoyed the personal touches. Having coffee in house was a great touch and helped me through my wakeful nights with the toddler for sure! Thank you- I would love to revisit over the summer !

    Rohini2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We found Kristin's camp on Greenwood Lake to have more amenities than expected. Plus, it has two different accesses to the lake, one a shallow beach and the other, a swimming and boating dock. This is a great place for a summer vacation at a beautiful, small spring fed lake.

    Jerome2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great and quiet place to relax. Plenty of room, and clean. Kristin is very good hostess. Enjoyed our stay tremendously.

    Pauline2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Host was very responsive leading up to our stay. She met us upon our arrival and showed us around. Wonderful introduction. The house offers everything you need and nothing that you don’t. I enjoyed the minimalism and open floor space. Great for the kiddos. Dock to jump off, kayaks and stand up paddle board to ride, grill to cook and plenty of plates/utensils. Highly recommend for those looking to ‘unplug.’ Would do it again in a heartbeat.

    Doug2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot. Kristin and her husband are lovely thoughtful hosts!

    Catherine2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Kristin; the hosts are super warm people and were kind enough to give us an early check-in. This is hands-down the most beautiful place we've stayed at. The pictures fail to tell you how incredibly gorgeous the lot is. With an east-facing lake view and a kayak to move around, it makes for postcard-perfect memories. This hidden gem in Vermont is soon to become the most popular weekend destinations.

  • Melissa's place is a great stop if you are out exploring scenic and rural northern Vermont. Her home is spacious and comfortable and she and her husband Mike are welcoming and congenial. The town, although small, is vibrant and seemingly upcoming, with a variety of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Jay2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Melissa’s! Enjoyed her kitty cat hanging out with us, homemade cookies and the hot tub on a snowy night!

    Chris2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay in Melissa's lovely original Victorian home in the center of Hardwick VT. This a beautiful and lovingly restored elegant Victorian with incredible woodwork and furnishings. Nice shops and a great restaurant are a short walk from the residence. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hardwick area.

  • Melissa was an excellent host. This is very well-located and quiet. There are numerous rooms and multiple bathrooms, so this is much like a traditional B&B. Melissa provided coffee and a wonderful homemade cider bread that was outstanding. We enjoyed our stay.

Birch Hollow is a sunny one bedroom, one bath apartment on ten acres in a lovely area of Central Vermont. Sleeps four with futon couch in living room. Deck out back has a wooded view to Curtis pond (77 acres). The area boasts a vibrant community, local ponds for swimming and paddling, as well as possibilities for skiing, snow-shoeing, hiking, and biking.
'Birch Hollow' is a sunny upstairs 'apartment' with an open floor plan, which has a deck out back with a wooded view to Curtis Pond. Can sleep four comfortably with queen bed in bedroom and a double futon in living room. The kitchen is well-equipped. We've been told it is also a great place for a writer's retreat.
This area of Central Vermont, just 10 miles north of the capital, Montpelier, boasts a vibrant community. The land abuts Curtis Pond with a dock and kayak or canoe or rowboat. There is a wonderful local store a mile down the road in Maple Corner, as well as the home of 'the Whammy Bar' offering live music Thursdays (open mike night) through Saturdays. They also have delicious fare. The Maple Corner Community Center is still using funds raised from 'the Men of Maple Corner' calendar to host activities such as the Fourth of July parade and party, and a Mardi Gras winter celebration in February on Curtis Pond! There are plenty of opportunities to explore the local area's many ponds, swimming, canoeing or kayaking, skiing right from your door, hiking, and biking, local walks, and local theatre, as well as Shao Shan Zen Buddhist Temple just down the road. In Montpelier, there are many great restaurants, a local coop, and unique shops, and of course, the capitol building (which is open for tours for those liking a little history.) Hardwick, the 'town that food made', eleven miles to the north, provides other options for dining, as well as a local coop. Stowe, Waitsfield, and Burlington, all an hour away, offer many further options for dining, skiing, shopping, hiking, water sports, bike paths, and simply enjoying the beauty of Vermont. Or, stay at home at Birch Hollow, and enjoy a retreat! There is plenty to do right in the neighborhood!
  • Pamela’s place was clean, cozy, and inviting. The pond was absolutely stunning and Pamela had two canoes, rowboat, and kayak available for us to use, which was very helpful for my husband’s fishing. Pamela was very helpful and very hospitable, offering us homemade apple sauce and amazing recommendations to local amenities. I would recommend Pamela to any future visitors of the Montpelier area. Thank you Pamela!

    Barbara2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pam was a wonderful hostess, and was so helpful. The apartment is in a beautiful location, with a large pond/lake on the property that we loved going to each morning. Pam was generous to provide canoes and paddles for us to enjoy the lake, and the whole area is just gorgeous. The apartment was great, providing everything we needed. It was very comfortable and cozy, and was close enough to town for us to be able to head in regularly for meals and groceries. All in all, this is a great place to rest and relax.

    David2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place! We hit the peak in the Fall colors which we enjoyed by canoeing on the pond everyday. Pamela gave us many suggestions which helped us find adventures we wouldn’t have found otherwise. Would definitely like to return!

    Cathy2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Pamela made us welcome when we first arrived, and sent kind messages and more information during our stay. We didn't spend much time at the studio apartment, because we were off exploring the wider area and visiting. It is definitely somewhere to escape the pressures of the modern world; we needed to drive 10 minutes down the road before getting cell phone service, for example. The open-plan layout is on the upper floor above a garage (used for storage, so no noise from there), with trees close by, so it feels close to nature.

    Inga2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great quite little place, went for a kayak trip early in the morning and it is very peaceful with lots of wildlife to watch

    Shane2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as described. It’s perfect for a nice getaway in nature as it’s surrounded by trees. We were able to use the canoe on the pond. And hikes and the town are not too far away. Pamela responded very quickly and was very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend if you are looking for nature and quiet.

    Lin2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy all the surrounding nature. Lots of places to swim and explore. The space is comfortable and clean and we loved being right in the woods. Pamela was an excellent host!

The Hyggelig Hytte is a one of a kind Nordic inspired cabin and sauna located in the heart of the Green Mountains. 30 mins north of Montpelier deep in the woods. Glamping and leaf peeping fun! Rustic romanic, hobo hideaway, bohemian hermitage, nordic nook.
Inspired by my trip to the Faroe Islands in 2013 and my love of the Viking Age, this is your perfect one of a kind rustic glamping experience. This small 144 sq foot Nordic inspired cabin is located ~50 yards behind my house on 11 acres of mixed hardwood and evergreens. You will have your own driveway, garden, fridge and cookstove. I provide coffee and tea as well as light breakfast foods: yogurt, granola, oatmeal and fresh eggs when I have them. There are dishes, pots and pans in the cabin. There is a small electric heater for the winter months which gets it plenty cozy. Your driveway is unmarked and steep, it is located on the same side of the street as my home (1743) to the north (please follow the signs and do not use my neighbors driveways). If you cannot make it up, just park in mine and walk back. You will need snow tires in the winter! Sleeps 2 adults on a queen size futon and there is a loft for a toddler or young child. Here you can enjoy hiking around the woods, picking blackberries and relaxing in Vermont's pristine beauty. Situated 30 min north of Montpelier. Peaceful, rustic simplicity. Enjoy a fire in your own fire pit and take in the stars! No light pollution. Wild turkeys, bats, hawks, deer, and even black bears are seen in these woods. Great for couples, writers or backpackers. *****Wifi is dubious and cell service is a hit or miss. If you have Verizon, you will have much better luck than At&T or Tmobile.**** No indoor plumbing, but a 5 gallon water jug for washing hands/dishes/face etc. There is an outhouse behind the cabin. Showers, laundry and can happen in the main house. Fire pit and barbecue available for use. I provide wood, but you should bring your own kindling. Gorgeous woods to hike or snowshoe through. I have one pair for you to borrow. I enjoy meeting new people, but do not need to socialize with you. I understand that people come to get away and I want to honor your privacy. I will let you know my availability if you need help or recommendations for places to visit etc. Depending on the season, you may see me in the backyard. East Calais is a small town with one gas station/general store a 7 min drive from the cabin, but otherwise, you are out in the woods on dirt roads. We are a 30 min drive from Montpelier, and a 1 hour drive from Stowe and Jay Peak, Sugarbush ski resorts. The village of Plainfield is a 15 minute drive away and has restaurants, bars and some shops etc. There is no public transport in this part of Vermont. You will need snow tires in the winter and AWD preferably as the cabin is located on dirt roads (thought they are well maintained), but in the summer and fall this is not necessary.
East Calais has one general store a 7 minute drive from the cabin. Otherwise, the village of Plainfield is a 20 minute drive away and has restaurants, bars and some shops etc. Montpelier is a 30 minute drive south and Hardwick is a 20 minute drive north. All these towns have night life.
  • Amazing place will recommend to friends! Selené was so nice and friendly

    Jules2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Selene's place was great, just the perfect type of quiet get-a-way we were looking for. The cabin is close to the house but far enough away to have privacy. Looks small but feels bigger once inside. Selene was very accommodating to anything we needed. I would definitely come back in the summer or fall.

    Travis2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Surprised my gf with a weekend getaway to this super cozy cabin and we both loved it. We stayed plenty warm and enjoyed the sauna, though if you go in the winter be prepared to walk in heavy snow.

    Alex2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! Incredibly cozy, with great opportunities for enjoying the outdoors as well as the sauna and firepit.

    Catherine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

    Justin2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy lodge, it was the perfect getaway from technology that we needed! Selené was a great host.

    Kyra2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a surprise birthday trip for my S.O. and we were both blown away at the stay here. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a fun-filled adventure in the surrounding mountains and towns. It is 20-30 mins away from Montpelier, which is a great city with many options for food, drinks, and shopping. We loved every second of this trip and the sauna was a welcome addition, especially right after a long cold winter hike.

    Kyle2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Just as expected. Clean, cozy and off the grid. We didn’t even need the extra heater we brought just in case. That heater HEATS up the whole space quick! Absolutely fell in love with Vermont in a new way thanks to this spot. Wouldn’t have done it any other way.

  • Jeff is a great host. House was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Kitchen had everything I needed for the stay. Jeff is conscious of the shared space which includes a bathroom and living room and attempts to have guests respect other guests. Overall, it was a great stay and I would not hesitate to stay again when in the area. 5 stars!

  • Very nice stay. Was pleasantly surprised how comfortable and clean it was. It was my first time renting a room in someone’s house and it was a great experience. Jeff was very accommodating. He had tons of breakfast foods available to make our stay even better.

  • Jeff’s place is amazing but even more so is he as a host. I realized what a difference it makes when people don’t just try to make money out of what they do but enjoy it and invest their time, efforts and soul. He has thought through so many details that are essential when you’re in a different place. His place has everything: great room, super clean and neat, amazing bed with clean sheets and comfortable mattress that make you sleep like a baby at night, very clean bathroom which is very important to me, coffee/tea/snacks/fruit. Great tips for getting around and getting some essentials. I felt like I came to some of my family member’s place, rather than hotel. Plus I came here alone without a car so he even offered to pick me up from the train station. Also his place is in a great location: just 20 min to Stowe, about 45 min to Burlington, 30 min to train station that takes you anywhere if you don’t have a car. It’s a gem for all seasons: in spring and summer there are sooo many activities around there which I haven’t realized before but for which I’m definitely coming back. Fall is just amazing burst of colors for those who like me has ever dreamt to see the vibrant foliage instagram pictures live. And winter is of course skiing which both Stowe and Jay Peak, that’s also just an hour of drive, make the best skiing experience in Vermont or maybe on the East coast. If you’re looking for comfortable and pleasant place to stay for a great money value - look no more. Thank you, Jeff, I’m happy I found your place.

  • Jeff’s place was perfect if you like to ski at Stowe but can’t stand the snooty vibe. He turned me onto some awesome breweries so my trip was also a local beer tasting hop (no pun intended). The house is well built, maintained, clean and comfy. Highly recommend

  • Jeff's home is INCREDIBLE---I stumbled upon it while looking for a place to stay on our recent ski week in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. Everything about his amazing restored Victorian home was above and beyond anything I could have expected--to have access to a wonderful kitchen with everything we'd need to a great, hot shower after a full day of skiing completed for us one of the best vacations we've ever had--we will return to Stowe, Vermont and I plan to make Jeff's home part of our next stay. Do yourself a favor too and walk around the quaint community of Morristown---even after a tiring day, it was SO relaxing to take in all the wonderful old homes in this area that make Vermont such a special state in my book ! THANK YOU, Jeff, for all you did to make this an unforgettably special time for my daughter and I !! ...Larry & Alyssa--Michigan

  • Jeff’s home is a beautiful northern style home. Jeff Gabe very quick and accurate responses to my questions and plans for the weekend; and gave us an excellent food recommendation. The house, for the incredible price, is very comfortable and inviting. If you’re looking for a place to ski, or just explore local breweries and places in Stowe or Morrisville, this is the place to be. I will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future is possible.

  • It doesn’t get any better than this! Jeff’s place was cozy and comfortable. All the details were thought of and Jeff provided everything I needed to make things easy, from check-in to showing me the local eateries that I wouldn’t have known about. I can’t recommend a better place if you’re in the Stowe area.

  • Jeff’s place has everything you wish for! It’s a beautiful home that’s very comfortable and clean. The rooms are warm and the beds comfy. There are breakfast items available which is very easy. It’s about 20 minutes away from Mt. Mansfield so perfect for skiing. On top of all that, Jeff is a welcoming and friendly host. I would definitely recommend this place!

  • Hello everybody, Here Camille and Jay, the globetrotters. Our stay with Gary was exceptional, from the location in the middle of nature, to Gary's hospitality, everything was perfect. Communication with Gary was quick and pleasant - thank you for everything! ✨

    Camille2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gary and Lucinda were very friendly in communications and had very useful information about the site and surroundings. The mobile home was plenty spacious for me and my boyfriend with lots of retro charm. We were only about an hour away from a handful of major mountain resorts (Burke, Stowe, Smuggs) which was good since we were indecisive about which to visit. Definitely recommend!
