Bright rustic farmhouse with beautiful field views! Truly a one of a kind location; short walk to Quassy amusement park, short two mile drive to the center of Woodbury; which offers many great restaurants, stores, and access to the CT antique trail, walking access to the Middlebury greenway, centrally located near various hiking locations, and local to numerous wineries and breweries. Quick access to 84 and Route 8. Includes two private ponds ready to be fished and a brand new barn!
*close to multiple skiing locations: Mount Southington (20 minutes away), Mohawk mountain (50 minutes), and ski sundown (45 minutes)* Beautiful rustic two-story farmhouse with separate driveway and private access. Pull into the gravel driveway where you are first greeted by the brand new eight stall barn! Currently the barn houses two pigs, three goats, and four chickens. We are working to bring horses over this spring! Feel free to inquire about horse boarding if you are traveling with your horse. Once parked, you will see the garage to the front, the old historic barn to the right of that and then the farmhouse. The farmhouse was once apart of the old historic barn and was renovated to what it is today- which adds to the rustic charm of the place. Walking towards the entrance you are greeted by a concrete patio, colorful chairs, gas powered fire pit, and a bbq grill. Open the door and walk right into a spacious living room lined with rustic wood beams and windows overlooking the property. The couch is a sofa couch for extra guests, please let us know in advance if you would like it set up. The country-styled kitchen is attached to the living room and equipped with all your cooking needs. Up the stairs there are two bright bedrooms and the bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed the other bedroom has three single beds. House equipped with cable and internet. The property also has two private ponds for fishing! Fishing gear not provided. Private yet close to everything. Great central location to explore the following areas: Woodbury, litchfield county, Bethlehem, Washington, new Milford, southbury, Oxford, and Middlebury. Also a great place to use as a base for traveling throughout New England- we are a great middle point right off the highway for a lot of travelers heading south and north. The farmhouse shares the property with the main living quarters, but they are separate buildings with own driveways and private entrances. We are there to take care of the animals and you will see us every morning and evening feeding the animals, which is a great time to come meet the animals! We are very respectful of space and guests needs; we are very friendly, but wont interact with guests unless otherwise approached out of respect for guests. The farmhouse is an older property, which gives it a rustic feel. Although very well maintained, it doesn’t have state-of- the-art updates. Please do not book if expecting high end design. The house is super comfortable, rustic, and charming. Exposed beams, original hard wood floors, unique built ins, etc. We highly appreciate the apartment for its unique charm and we hope you do as well. Please read house rules and additional rules prior to booking. No parties allowed. Gatherings are case by case please inquire prior to booking.
Farmhouse located on 13 acres of private farmland. Various wildlife have been spotted on the property including turkeys, an immature bald eagle, and even a black bear. Very quiet neighborhood, while still being centrally located. Can walk or bike to a family amusement park, the middlebury greenway, and Meadowview park. Centrally located with short drive to various locations. If you want to explore Connecticut this is a great place to stay. Check out our suggestion book in the house.
  • Very nice, well kept, super clean, and cozy. The location is perfect and the grounds are beautiful. Can't beat the adorable neighbors (goats, pigs, and chickens). We had a great stay with comfortable beds and plenty of space. Would definitely stay here again.

Whether you stay for a weekend or a week you'll find our guest suite comfortable, convenient and a terrific value perfectly located for all that northwest Connecticut has to offer.  A Note About Cleanliness- If you read my reviews you will notice that many begin with a sentence about how clean they found the space. With the flu season in full swing and the looming Corona threat I want guests to know that I do all I can to minimize contamination. Here is an example of what I routinely do to prepare for a new guest party: Wear rubber gloves while cleaning to protect myself. All linens are washed in hot water, detergent and bleach. Every time! Freshly washed comforters and blankets are on all beds. I have 4 sets. The bathroom is cleaned with Lysol products. Wipe all door handles, remotes and handrails with antibacterial wipes. Wipe down kitchenette sink and food prep surfaces with Lysol cleaning spray. Dirty dishes, flatware and glassware are cleaned in my dishwasher.
Breakfast on the go? Try Little Town Deli on East St. Right out of the driveway, turn right at blinking light at the green. Tasty breakfast sandwiches and Green Mountain coffee. Or head down the hill (left out of driveway) to Big Daddy's at the corner of 61 and 6. Hearty breakfasts are served here along with a helping of local flavor. They also deliver to Bethlehem, $20 minimum order. There are several restaurant flyers in the welcome binder. Bethlehem is approximately halfway between New York City and Boston in beautiful Litchfield County. It's next door to Woodbury, noted for its many antique shops and near stops on the Connecticut Wine Trail. Historic homes like Bellamy-Ferriday House and Garden and Glebe House are just minutes away or see how native Indians lived at Washington's Institute For American Indian Studies. If you want to hike on miles of well marked trails White Memorial Foundation is for you and only 15 minutes north. Less than 2 miles away March Farms offers cherry, strawberry, blueberry, peach, pumpkin and apple picking in season, baked goods and a terrific play area for kids as well as seasonal events and activities.
  • This is an awesome space, impeccably clean and very nicely appointed. Very open and airy with skylights throughout. It's located in a peaceful rural area, and yet it's not far from several great restaurants and the Woodbury antiques district...there's even a movie theater located in a converted barn in nearby Bantam, that specializes in showing primarily indie and art films. If you're already familiar with the area, this makes a great base of operations...if not, you'll have a blast exploring all there is to see in the Litchfield hills. Janice is a great host who will offer as much (or as little!) interaction as you might desire. Highly recommended!!! Thanks Janice, for a great experience.

  • A wonderful, cozy, and quiet place.

    Adam2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We have travelled to CT for Christmas for the past 30 years sleeping on floors and couches. This was PERFECT for us! It was so wonderful to have beds, privacy, and lovely extra touches! Janice put up a tree and there were 2 'fireplaces', we loved the teapot and coffee maker and great snacks! Thank you Janice-hopefully we will see you next Christmas too!

    Darlene2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed here several times and have always felt welcome, safe, and comfortable. It is a refreshing place to be.

    Heather2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Janice's place is very comfortable, clean and inviting. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Dawn2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Janice had a very nice upper level all updated, clean, welcoming and easy to find. She had fluffy white towels, soft bedding, updated styling in the bathroom and a mini kitchen with a light breakfast (milk, cereal, OJ, coffee) available in the fridge upstairs. We enjoyed our stay and even watched a movie with the Roku program available. She provided wifi and information on the local area. Janice was a kind host who was welcoming to our family.

    Marla2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, good location. We came here for a wedding in town and it was perfect for what we needed.

    Catherine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Janice is a wonderful host and came to introduce herself to us while we were staying there, but otherwise respected our privacy and let us be the entire stay. The place was very clean and exactly as pictured. She left plenty of breakfast snacks, milk, coffee, and juice which was great. The TVs all have a Roku connected so you're able to watch all your Netflix, Hulu, etc. shows if you happen to have some downtime. Highly recommend this place if you're staying in the area in CT. Also recommend renting a car if you're traveling around the weekend; Ubers and rideshare services are harder to come by the later it gets. Just book, you won't regret it!

  • Ellen’s house is the perfect getaway! We were two couples that traveled for a long weekend out of the city - and boy did we hit the jackpot! The grounds are BEAUTIFUL! The view from the house and the pool is stunning. The house was very clean and stocked with necessities. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Ellen’s place to anyone looking for a relaxing, low-key trip.

  • Gorgeous home with a view. Has everything you need: full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, breezeway with grill. The pool is fantastic. Location is maybe 10 min outside of town, easy enough to stop in for things but far enough away to enjoy nature. So beautiful.

    Kendra2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home, yard and gardens. The pool was great and the views are beautiful. Ellen responded very quickly and was extremely helpful. Would love to stay again.

  • I rented Ellen's home for the Ironman 70.3 CT race in Middlebury. The home was sparkling clean, the yard and view is incredible, property is extremely quiet and private, even the landscaping is fantastic. If I do the race again next year, I won't hesitate to stay here again.

Charming rural cabin in beautiful Washington Depot, Connecticut.
This property is situated high on a hill above the road. The cottage is recently remodeled from top to bottom. It has lots of vintage charm but combined with a modern stove, fridge and bathroom. There are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and walk-in closet. The second has a queen bed and another large closet. Both have dressers, night stands and plenty of space to stretch out. The kitchen includes a coffee machine, toaster, electric tea kettle and all the pots and pans you might need.
The town of Washington Depot was the inspiration for "Starry Hollow" on the show Gilmore Girls, and it's the quintessential New England town. A large percentage of the town is dedicated to open space preservation, and there is a beautiful lake and river in town.
  • We loved staying at the cottage! It is charming, clean , and comfortable. Thank you Robert ! We will definitely book again !

    Luisa2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The space is beautiful and clean. It was perfect for us for a couple of nights of being outside the city. There are trails just a few mins drive away. It was also great to stargaze is the evenings!

    Andrew2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place is amazing. There is a trailhead right in the backyard that leads to a fairly easy trek up to a gorgeous summit, and has access to multiple other trails. The house has a wonderful little kitchen if you're planning on cooking your own meals during your stay with a large gas range. There are also some very nice and cozy spots to relax, eat and drink just minutes from the cabin if you don't plan on cooking. You truly get the best of both worlds, whether you'd like a secluded cabin feel or a place with ease of access to local amenities. We did a tour at the Litchfield distillery just 10 minute drive away which included a free tasting, if that's you're thing I would recommend checking it out! Robert is a highly attentive and responsive host, we'd love to come back! I recommend booking this spot if it is available, don't wait!

    Lou2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying at Robert’s guest cottage. The place was quaint and chic, exactly what we needed. Our doggies loved running on the beautiful property and we enjoyed a great hike behind the house. Robert was an excellent and attentive host and was there to answer any question we had immediately. Definitely hope to return again!

    Jacquelyn2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • A charming, light-filled cottage on a hill! Situated far enough from the main road to feel private. Decor is thoughtful, bath and kitchen have been recently remodeled. Beds very comfortable. Robert responds to messages immediately! Abundance of trails and nature preserves to explore, xcountry skiing a mile away, as well as "Wigwam Escape", which was a surprising highlight for a family with varied ages. Just lovely.

    Lorna2019-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Robert was extremely hospitable and responsive! He offered amazing trips for my NYC getaway, which was the perfect oasis for tranquility I was looking for. His home was brand-spanking new with very stylish decor. This experience was very relaxing and at a great price.

  • My stay with Byron and Rosetta was great! They're kind and interesting people. They were excellent with communication and flexible with travel logistics. They also have a beautiful place. I would definitely stay again if I was in the area!

    Cuong2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rosetta and Byron are exceptionally welcoming hosts and genuinely kind people. I felt perfectly comfortable staying with them. Checking in was slightly challenging only because my instructions were to call or text when near, but I didn't actually have cellular service once in the area. Not a big deal. I just knocked and Rosetta came to the door. They have two small dogs, one of which is a rescue and does not respond well to new people. It ran up and barked at me a lot when I came in. Rosetta told me late they usually keep the rescue dog on leash when people come in but they forgot. Again, this was not a huge deal and the dog didn't bother me again after this initial experience. I just bring these things up as it might be helpful for other travelers to be aware of them. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever passing through the area again and would recommend this place to others. Byron's touch of waking up early to make me a latte before I had to get on the road in the morning was especially appreciated.

    Evelyn2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rosetta and Byron provided a comfortable atmosphere and welcomed us warmly into their home. The room they had for us was spotless, cozy, and even came with a refrigerator with chilled water with cucumber slices for our own use. Conversation with both Rosetta and Byron was both effortless and natural. They also provided lots of insight into everything the area has to offer. The setting of their home and property provided us with a peaceful away from home experience. We will be sure to stay with them again whenever we are back in the area!

    Linda2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rosetta and Byron are excellent hosts! Their property and home are lovely! We love the animals and their beautiful surrounding gardens and forest. A great place to stay!

  • Rosetta's place was wonderful--quiet and serene. Byron and Rosetta were very kind and thoughtful and provided timely and helpful communication. I wish I had been able to spend more than one night at their place! It was delightful. I would highly recommend their home if you are visiting the area. I hope we can stay again in the future. Thanks!

  • Rosetta and Byron's home it's absolutely lovely! The open space is beautiful and the room we stayed in had such cute, "home-y" touches to it. It also helped that both of them were wonderful hosts and gave us recommendations on where to eat and what to do. The gardens was absolutely serene and the short walk to the river was stunning! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would recommend it! Also, the 2 little dogs and kitty were very cute.

  • It was a very pleasant 3 night journey. The host was very enthusiastic and communicated with her very smoothly and happily. We arrived relatively late that day, and the female landlord came to meet us in person, and in the morning the next day we came to solve our problems about using the room facilities. The residence is conveniently located, only 3 minutes drive from the nearest town. We really like the decor in the room. It is very warm and comfortable, just like home. Various home facilities are complete, and my 15-year-old son loves the beds that can be hidden in the living room. The kitchen facilities are very easy to use, with a variety of seasonings to suit all styles of cooking. When we arrived, there were prepared pizza and milk in the refrigerator, which was so sweet! Thank you again for your careful, thoughtful and enthusiastic preparation and hospitality. I wish you all the best in the future. I also recommend all guests to stay and you will be very satisfied!

  • Pam’s place was perfect- exactly as pictured! A friend and I used it for a weekend get away and it worked so well for us. The room felt very spacious, the kitchen was great for its size. I especially like the small dividers that allow the bed to feel like it’s in its own area, but still allow for the space to feel open. Truly an ideal studio space. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Pat and Andy were incredible hosts and the private apartment was so clean and warm and filled with thoughtful touches and yummy amenities. They really have everything. Unfortunately we got caught up with long work days and would have loved to have spent more time and met the dogs but were so comfortable and relaxed when we were there. We cannot recommend their home highly enough and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

  • This is one of the best Airbnb stays I’ve ever had! They are lovely hosts. Pat is an amazing baker, and I very much enjoyed that she was willing to share her baked goods with me everyday! The flat itself is beautifully crafted and spotless, with many thoughtful touches. I highly recommend staying here, if you’re in the area.

    Leila2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pat & Andy as hosts are just as wonderful and charming as their space. The space was quiet, comfortable, and had more than what I was expecting for kitchen accoutrements! I worked overnight stretches and the complimentary eye masks/noise machine were a fantastic touch. The baked goods were scrumptious and made me feel right at home. One of the most positive Airbnb experiences I’ve had to date.

    Hannah2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. Much better then a bed and breakfast. Quaint with amazing appeal Will go back soon.

    Bryan2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is every bit as advertised and so much more. The details of the building itself are text-book Arts and Crafts. The rooms are so well and thoughtfully appointed that one could easily move in and live there with every convenience provided. The kitchen is very well equipped and the refrigerator was even stocked with fresh "starter" foods. Pat and Andy were warm and helpful hosts and went beyond what was expected ( warm banana bread delivered to the door in the morning!) Tucked into the rural surroundings with treetop views from every window, it felt as if we were living in a grown-up version of a fantastic treehouse.

  • The place was sparkling clean, very spacious, and had the essentials. Location was in a quiet/private area, yet very close to restaurants, gym, and shopping plaza (7-10 min drive). Communication was great and we were given local tips on places to eat. Including the Oxford Bakery, which was the perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. I would absolutely recommend to a friend.

  • Absolutely terrific place. For the money, it’s even more amazing. It’s an old home that’s been incredibly well taken care of, added to and accessorized. Both the owners went through the Pratt Institute and have a great eye for design. Plus they’re very interesting conversationalist, very helpful and just very nice to be around. We booked very late, on the same day and we had some trouble communications on the way there. But that was absolutely the only thing to even slightly complain about and that is very slight indeed. Don’t miss this place.

    Phil2019-08-03T00:00:00Z

  • We were visiting family in the area for Thanksgiving and stayed at Jerry’s place.for three nights. The location is in close proximity to downtown Woodbury and the grounds are beautiful. I would describe it as rustic chic. We enjoying coming back to such a cozy and comfortable place after a long day. It was our first time traveling with our infant son and Jerry was nice enough to offer us a free late checkout. We will definitely be back when we visit family again.

    Jennie2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here! Jerry was very accommodating (allowed us an early check-in free of charge) and communicative throughout the stay. The guest house was meticulous and looked even better than in the pics. There were a few essentials missing from the kitchen (cutting board and forks) but nothing that affected our stay too much. We'll look forward to returning in warmer weather to hopefully enjoy the nearby tennis court!

  • I stayed at Janice's farm for 2 nights and was so enchanted by the experience! If you're just looking for a quiet time away, the place is great on it's own as the apartment is comfortable, immaculately clean & well appointed. There are a number of dining options nearby and activities as well - but that's not why I'd go here...I am a huge animal lover and was delight to learn about Janice's on-premises animal rescue program. Janice was kind enough to give us a tour of her barn where we met 3 gorgeous horses, a family of adorable goats, 2 healthy sheep, 2 chunky pigs (who were wrapped up in a comfy blanket together) and some rabbits! Janice told us the story of each animal and how they came to live with her. Outside of the animals in the barn, we really loved waking up each morning and looking out the windows to see a huge variety of birds milling about/looking for food. I can't recommend this place enough - it was easily the best airbnb I've stayed in in the Northeast. Go for it!

  • There are not enough adjectives in the world to express how incredibly welcoming Jan and Kathy are! They not only allowed us to get married on their property, but did everything they could to help it go beautifully. On top of stocking the fridge for breakfast and snacks, they gave us an adorable wedding cake and wine to celebrate when we returned from dinner. The apartment itself is beautifully renovated, clean, and makes you feel right at home! The skylight was so cool to stargaze and watch the storm we had during our stay! It also goes without saying that the love the animals receive comes back to everyone in ten fold. I got loves from their beautiful rescue puppy pack and kisses from one of the horses when we first arrived! The serenity, love, and absolute kindness makes this home the best trip and most incredible location to say I Do. I cannot wait to get to go back for an anniversary!

  • Staying at C&C Rush Haven Farm was the absolute best experience, far surpassing our expectations! Being that my husband and I live in Brooklyn, we desperately wanted an escape from the city. Which is exactly what we got in Litchfield Hills. It is beautiful and serene, especially during the autumn season! Staying at Janice's place felt like we were staying at our own private sanctuary. Peaceful, relaxing and breathtaking! Janice is truly a special soul, she made our stay unique by adding thoughtful touches throughout the apartment! She provided wonderful recommendations of things to do and places to eat and always communicated very well. It is not the places you go that make the experience great, but the people you meet along the way. Being able to meet Janice and her family, made our experience in Bethlehem that much more rewarding! We have already made this our go-to spot every fall! If you love nature, enjoy great food and want a truly special place to stay, you must visit C&C Rush Haven Farm!

  • What a beautiful weekend staying at C & C Rush Haven Farm! The apartment is divine with easily accessible private entrance, cloud-like bedding, a wonderful lounge space and really accented by a team of hosts who have truly thought of every need you may have. I was fortunate enough to enjoy Jan & KC's company as hosts and sitting on the porch, sipping hot coffee in the cool breeze by the garden is absolutely divine. They made some great suggestions about nearby attractions, hikes, antiquing and other great experiences (alpaca walking is a MUST!) and were easily accessible to answer any questions about the area with their wealth of knowledge. Easy parking and check-in was a plus. Can't recommend C & C Rush Haven Farm enough and can't wait to plan my next trip!

    Torey2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • C&C Rush Haven Farm, and hostesses Janice and Kathy, far surpassed my expectations. The farm is beautiful and idyllic, and Janice, with whom I had the most contact, encouraged my use and enjoyment of the property, which I did just strolling around admiring the flowers, enjoying the animals and a morning of pond-side yoga. The apartment is comfortable and well-equipped with anything you need for your stay. But if you find something lacking, the hostesses will be on it to ensure you have what you need. Their generous spirit is what really made my stay special. I'd asked Janice where to shop for gluten free groceries and she recommended I come to the apartment before shopping. I found it stocked with GF breads, cookies, muffins, as well as fresh eggs, dairy products from the local dairy, and lots of organic produce, including from their garden. Not to mention a selection of coffee and teas. The only thing I would change about my stay is to have it extended beyond the three nights I was there. Cannot recommend C&C enough!

We had several canceled reservations in 2018. A local family needed a home because of a house fire, 1 month turned into 7! Our property can accommodate a large group that wants to be together. You can host a wedding, a reunion, or memorial services here. It has 5 generous size bedrooms upstairs, a family room with a fireplace and a living room with a piano, and sleeper sofa. We have added a party room in the garage which seats up to 30. It is on 33 acres and 10 minutes from town.
Just completely decorated and finished December 1st 2017. The living room feature a baby grand piano and fireplace with a sleeper sofa. The dining room is done in country French furniture with 6 chairs and one leaf in the table. The hutch and buffet has an assortment of serving pieces, an assortment of linen, silver flatware and various serving. There are folding chairs stored in the porch closet to add additional dining room seating. In the garage is a grill for guests use that can be wheeled to the driveway along with tables and additional chairs. The family room has 2 large comfortable sofas with a raised hearth fireplace. The TV gives you a choice of Amazon or Netflix's, & HBO The drapes in family room should be closed at night to give you privacy. You can also close the drapes on the porch to keep heat in. We provide a key to the garage that opens the left side. To lock it you have to move the door up and down a little bit. The other key opens the side porch. If it is snowy and wet you should use the garage entrance. There is no walkway yet to the porch door. The house has 4 bedrooms, there is the library that has 2 full beds, the living room has a sleeper sofa and the family room has 2 couches. This house can easily sleep 16 and more with air mattresses. The house is suited to host a family events. Please contact me so I can quote you on having a group up to 50 at the house. If a group of 14 books the property for a period there likely would be no additional charge.
The property is surrounded by farms and country roads. We have a wonderful winery on route 63 called HawkRidge winery they are open daily for tasting and is 4 minutes from the house. We have also extend the property as a home for local families that have to relocate because of a fire or a flood for several months. Please call us for rates. We will try to help you.
  • Beautiful home and a great host!

  • This lovely old New England home has space galore! There are 5 bedrooms, 4 with K or Q beds and one (accessed via a shared bathroom) with 2 large beds (I don't remember if they were Q or doubles) and a twin cot. Our 3 grandchildren were thrilled to share a room but still each get their own bed! There are 2 full bathrooms upstairs (all bedrooms are upstairs), and a half bath downstairs. The beds were all very comfortable. Downstairs there is a full kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, all needed cutlery and cooking utensils/pots/pans. The dining room was comfortable for the 8 of us to share our meals and for the grown ups to enjoy a board game after the little ones went to bed. There are also 2 spacious living areas, one with a beautiful piano. The house is locate on a large grassy lot - handy for kids to run around and burn off some energy stored up by a long car ride! The area is pretty rural, with quiet roads nearby, but it is a short drive to the quaint town of Watertown. The hosts left a comprehensive list of nearby restaurants and grocery stores (including identifying some with gluten free options, a necessity for our family) which we found to be very helpful. We highly recommend trying Thai in Love - the food was delicious! Overall, this was a most pleasant stay. Thank you, Faye and Paul!

Lovely historic home in southern Litchfield County, CT 1.5 hours from Manhattan and 2 hours from Brooklyn. Surrounded by woods and privately situated on dead end road. Many lakes nearby for summer swimming and Mohawk Ski Mountain 35 minutes away for winter skiing. Countless gorgeous hikes, top rated restaurants and markets, apple and berry picking, great bookstores, and charming towns all within minutes. Home lovingly decorated and lived in by family with child and dog.
Our home originally dates back to 1790. Some of the original details remain yet all modern conveniences have been added. The house has a wrap around porch, a flagstone patio, a well maintained garden and a flat yard for playing. No other houses can be seen from the house and while only a few miles from town, it feels remote. We have decorated our home simply yet tastefully. Marble counter top in the kitchen and farm sink. Dining room table that can seat 10. Wood burning fireplace in living room. Very large master bedroom with king bed and en suite bath, guest room with queen sleigh bed and third bedroom with twin trundle.
Woodbury, CT is a hidden gem. Close to NYC and Boston yet very much in the country. On Connecticut’s “antique trail” the town is dotted with beautiful historic homes. Some of Connecticut’s best restaurants are in and around Woodbury including Good News Cafe, Community Table and Arethusa’s Al Tovolo. Litchfield County is a hikers paradise with countless nature preserves to explore. It is also a destination for shoppers with a remarkable number of antiques stores and other funky shops in Washington Depot, New Preston, Litchfield and New Milford. And don’t forget to visit Bantam for Connecticut’s best ice cream!
  • Lucy's home is beautiful and located close to the Connecticut Antique Trail. It exceeded my expectations and was a wonderful place to go home to after a long day at work. The kitchen is a cook's dream with everything a cook could need. I would stay again at Lucy's in a second whenever in Connecticut.

This is a bright room with a queen size mattress that is firm and comfortable. The room has newly refinished hardwood floors, window quilts to reduce light and keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There is a nine speed temperature controlled fan that cools it nicely in the summer. The windows look out to an expansive lawn that ends at a wooded stream.
This room has a shared full bath with shower, antique goose neck toilet and the original pedestal sink. The shower is unique as it has a window view of the back yard.

  • Brian and his wife are a wonderful team host. From booking to check in, and check out—very smooth process. Brian provides so many opportunities to make this trip “our very own”, from local places to shop fresh to the many awesome amenities of the house. Fresh linens, towels, huge spice and kitchen / bbq tools.... this place has all the amenities of a resort but with the vibes of a cozy home. There are also three beautiful horses on the property and we appreciated a chance to feed them! I’d recommend this place and Brian as a host for sure.

If you're looking to relax and unwind, this is the spot for you. If you're coming from the city, you'll need a car since there isn't much public transportation, but it wasn't an issue for us!

This beautifully antique-furnished home opens onto and has access to two acres of open grounds. Located in the heart of the the Village of South Britain founded in 1709 it's within walking distance of 22 historic homes, a Congregational and Methodist Churches built in the 1830's, an 1889 town hall, a factory building from 1800, an Audubon bird sanctuary and dozens of hiking trails.
Within a few miles are the picturesque roadways and towns of Litchfield County and Connecticut's Antiques Trail. THE SPACE The Carriage House features on the ground floor a large living room seating 8; an adjacent television room seating 6 or third bedroom with queen-size bed, a dining room with picture window views of the patio, lawns and gardens; a fully equipped cooking kitchen. On the upper floor there’s a large bedroom with sun-room alcove serving as an office or a children’s sleeping nook; a second smaller bedroom, a laundry area and an updated bathroom with shower. Televisions are available on both floors and high-speed internet access throughout. There are three outside seating areas: a hedge-enclosed patio facing the gardens for 6, an adjacent glass- and wisteria-covered tea pavilion for 4; and a gazebo with copper- and grapevine-covered roof which provides shelter for as many as 10. Parking is available for as many as five cars near the entrance and more along the roadway. GUEST ACCESS You are welcome to wander the grounds and climb to top the hill where a stone wall marks where the property ends. The exception to access is the patio in front of the Main House three-season room. The 3-season room with its massive fireplace may also be available for a day or more during your rental. It is a wonderful space for festive gatherings of 30 or more, additional sleeping accommodations for extra guests, and dining for up to 20 people served from buffet and bars on its upper level. Together with the gardens it’s ideal for gatherings of all kinds.  OTHER THINGS TO NOTE There are few if any accommodations of this quality less than 90 minutes of NYC with the full attractions of hiking, cycling, rafting, tennis, consignment and antique stores, thrift shops, flea markets, farmers' markets, and woodland trails. There's an electric charge based on meter readings at the standard rate for the utility company for a stay of more than a week.  This beautiful, under-publicized Village is well preserved and historically important. It has 22 homes dating from 1690 to 1835, two churches from the 1830's, Southbury's first library (1904) and village hall (1893), a country store, and a mill building along the river currently being restored that remains from 1800 when the mills produced as much as any other town in Connecticut.   * Please note: Included in the cleaning fee price is damage waiver coverage in place of a traditional damage deposit so you can have a carefree stay.

My place is close to the quintessential town of Washington.. and under 2 hours from New York City. You’ll love our home because of the warm feeling you get from all the wood. The house is imported from Finland! There are two bedrooms up stairs. You will also love the huge wrap around deck that you can sit on that has wonderful views, the sauna and the woodstove in the winter! Our house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
We sleep four comfortably with 2 in each double bed but we can accommodate 6 . With one person on a long couch and another on a mattress on the floor!

  • Our stay at Randy's house was perfect. We loved the cozy atmosphere, the beautiful views and had more than enough space with 3 people. The communication with Randy was very clear and helpful and we loved the local tips he gave us. (Dinner at G.W. Tavern, brunch at hidden valley!). Thanks for everything

  • Wonderful hospitality, quick and thorough communication, and lots of local tips to enjoy our stay in the area! The space was clean and comfortable and, despite being a shared space with the hosts, our area was quite private.

  • We enjoyed the Finnish log cabin very much. It was extremely quiet and comfortable. We only stayed one night, but would return if we are in the area again.

  • Randy's house is uniquely beautiful, located in a gorgeous quiet part of Connecticut close to several nature preserves. Randy was a wonderfully attentive host, who gave us excellent tips about hiking and food and made us feel completely at home.

  • Very beautiful and clean house, unique decorations and a spacious backyard with plenty of seating areas and flowers. Randy also gave us helpful suggestions on where to eat and hike, and provided bottled water, coffee and tea.

  • Such a great place and friendly hosts! I hope we can stay again!

  • Randy was absolutely amazing! She was so kind, generous and thoughtful to my friends and I and we had a great time. It was cozy and quaint and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. She has the sweetest dog and her husband was friendly. Her house was so warm and toasty. She was kind enough to let us use her kitchen and told us about a couple of great places to eat, visit and hike nearby. This was the first time some of my friends have stayed at an air bnb and they were thrilled!! Thank you for being such a great host ♥️♥️♥️

The area is close to town with many historic homes in the area.
  • Faye was a perfect communicator and host. Since I was coming in town for a reunion she made it possible for an early check in, even though she had previous plans to attend a wedding at the same time. Her home is beautiful and the room is comfy. The bathtub was wonderful! Thanks so much for the pleasant stay. I hope to return when I come back in town. Thanks Faye!

  • I had such a lovely stay with Faye and Paul. They have a gorgeous home. The details in the room and bathroom were exquisite. I felt like I was in a European inn. The bed was super comfortable. More than that, I appreciated their kindness. I was in town for my dad's memorial service. My lodging fell apart at the last minute, so I booked their place on about eight hours notice. They responded within minutes. Paul met me at the door and even brought a glass of wine to my room. These small gestures meant so much at a difficult time and I am eternally grateful.

  • Faye and Paul were the sweetest most attentive hosts ever. This was my first bnb experience and it couldn’t have been more pleasant. The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable, the patio overlooked a beautiful rolling hill, it was the perfect getaway. Close to nice restaurants and shops, while also being quiet and tucked away from the street. Faye and Paul even made us homemade waffles bacon fresh fruit and mimosas on our checkout morning! I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

  • Paul & Faye were very hospitable; it was a nice place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. Perfect location for our travel plans.
