Bar

“Fun bar with huge backyard, fire pit, and taco truck serving up tasty Mexican fare. Union Pool used to be a pool supply store, but now it's a lively bar that often hosts live music in their on-site venue”

Steakhouse
$$$$
“If you love steak, you should not miss out on Peter Lugar's. This iconic steak house is worth visiting. Although a bit loud, pricey and very busy, this is the place to splurge on an excellent meal. I highly recommend their sizzling steaks and creamed spinach. If you don't like waiting long to be seated (like me), I would recommend getting an early dinner reservation, around 4pm, then walk off the calories over the Brooklyn Bridge. Only downside is it's all cash, no credit cards accepted.”

Seasonal menus served in a retro, repurposed dining car
$$
“Retro railcar environment, cool and funky spin on a diner, located under the Williamsburg Bridge. You don't get a physical menu, the servers scribble the day’s offerings directly onto your butcher-paper tablecloth. All the food is excellent! 85 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11249”

Fried Chicken Restaurant
$$
“Hipster spot and local favorite. There's a wait on the weekends. Amazing fried chicken and comfort food classics that make you feel good inside. The chicken biscuit might be one of the most ridiculously unhealthy things we’ve ever seen on a plate, and it’s delicious. Breakfast specials like chicken and waffles and they have homemade pies. ”

“Biergarten with large wooden tables, great beer selection and live jazz music during the week. Great for winter days. Atmosphere is less Jazzy and more club-looking on the weekend though.”

American Restaurant

“Worth waiting in line for... no reservations. Get there early (at opening if you can) to put your name on the list. Then go get a drink next door. (Or, just go home, since it is basically across the street, and wait for them to call you!). ”

Breakfast Spot

“ One of the neighborhood's most famous brunch spot, they serve simple but awesome egg dishes with ingredients that come from their own farm upstate. We recommend to get there before 12 / 12:30 to avoid the long lines.”
