Places to stay in Walsden
The heated tree cabin is set within a small secluded wood up a steep path. Cedar lined, insulated and oak clad it cantilevers out over a remote mill pond. Wake up in a tranquil heaven only shared with shy wildlife, including deer, hare, the odd badger and a variety of birds. In the cabin are a king-size sofa bed, table and chairs, kitchen area with kettle, microwave oven and chiller. Your own smaller tree cabin, a few trees away, houses a flushing toilet and hand basin with spring water.
Whilst in bed gently falling asleep watch the moon rise over the mill pond through the tree branches and then watch the sun rise the following morning! A romantic getaway for the adventurous couple. Tucked away in a small woodland at the edge of a mill pond you will feel totally secluded as the cabin is difficult to spot from the surrounding areas but the reality is that you are close to a no through road, a village store and the delights of Hebden Bridge. Supplied with electricity and hot and cold spring water you are still part of the 21st Century but at the same time remote from it all. (In fact, so remote, that there is barely any mobile signal or wifi). There is a quality king size sofa bed, chairs for relaxing and dining and a kitchen area with basic cooking equipment and electric heating. Most 'camping style' cooking and eating essentials are provided including a microwave oven and a chiller cabinet. There is also a small portable induction hob and frying pan. A full breakfast is not included, but inside the cabin you will find cereals, fruit juice, milk, fruit yoghurt and of course tea, coffee and sugar. A few trees away there is your own, smaller tree house with a flushing toilet and hand basin fed with pure spring water. Hot running water, face flannels and towels are provided. There is an external hot and cold alfresco shower or for the hardy (or foolhardy!) take a dip in the mountain stream. If the weather is inclement we can usually arrange a time for you to use the shower in the main house.
We are surrounded by public footpaths, bridleways for biking and plenty of fresh air. There is a farm shop under a mile away that stocks everything and is open 12 hours a day. The nearest bus stop with a regular half hourly service to Hebden Bridge is a mile away. We are on a no-through, single track, tarmac road.
  • It's hard to find the words to explain how amazing this place is. Tranquil, beautiful and a little bit of heaven tucked into a gorgeous bit of Yorkshire. It was lovely and cosy and very comfortable. Tony was an amazing host, I didn't get chance to meet Barbara but I will be back so hopefully will get the pleasure next time. The outdoor shower was just amazing. The weather was fairly mild but it was an exhilarating experience none the less. I can't wait to visit again.

  • The pictures and descriptions have literally made me feel excited ever since booking this trip and whilst they were incredibly accurate, nothing prepared me for the overwhelming beauty of the space, as we arrived. Tony was incredibly welcoming and supportive and explained everything to us with so much patience, although we had arrived quite late. The view from the bed in the mornings was probably my highlight, and I don't believe I could put into words how very calming, nourishing and relaxing the little cabin was. On the last day, we braved the elements and tried the alfresco shower and it was such a surreal experience. Despite the cold temperature outside, the water was hot enough to not even notice the cold, and the views were simply breathtaking. Both the main cabin and the smaller "bathroom" were decorated with so much love for details and provided us with everything we could have possibly dreamt of. We had no reception whatsoever, which was great to just be in the moment and take everything in. We went to Hebden Bridge twice for food and coffees and had lovely vegan food and stacked up on some snacks and water. The fairy lights outside the door, as well as the smaller lamps inside the cabin always invited us to stay in, read a lot of books or play chess. Overall this was one of the most beautiful holidays I have ever been on and we are more than excited to hopefully come back next year again.

  • Stunning place even in the rain. Beautiful surroundings truly at one with nature. On arrival Tony & Barbara shared information about the local area and walls. Then to the cabin which was very spacious and tranquil. 100% recommend this place. Would like to book again when I can find a date it’s free, that’s just how amazing this place is. Thank you so much!

  • We had a lovely stay in the cabin and really enjoyed our time there! Feels very secluded despite being close enough to the house in case we needed anything; the perfect balance! Tony and Barbara provided some very handy tips for walks around the area, as well as delicious flapjacks and great selection of hot drinks and breakfast options. Really accommodating of dairy free too, which was much appreciated! Good location, with Hebden Bridge only a short drive or bus journey away. Such wonderful accommodation. Will definitely be looking to stay again next year!

  • We had an amazing stay at Barbara and Tony's, really friendly hosts and beautiful location with lots to do nearby. The cabin itself was really unique and Barbara and Tony provided us with useful ideas for walks and were really quick with communication

    Simran2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the tree cabin for a little break away. It was absolutely beautiful, great location & the hosts were lovely adding thoughtful touches to the stay including Tony’s homemade delicious flapjacks 😃

    Lauren2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • You have to experience the cabin to understand it's charms. It was everything the details told us but Tony and Barbara's extra bits were great. Homemade flapjack on our arrival was delicious along with all the tea, coffee etc which was so helpful but on arriving the peace was something else. Absolutely no phone signal or WiFi in the unit helped us relax but you cannot stay in the cabin and not relax. We never touched the car until we left walking everywhere and wallowing in the views but the final joy was on the morning we left jumping into the outdoor shower was an experience that will stay with me for a very long time. Thank you for sharing you little bit of paradise.

  • Such lovely hosts, gave us a proper tour of the area when driving back from the station and invited us in to show us some local routes. A very relaxing stay and well worth the money.

  • The house was so beautiful! The photographs do not do it justice! Stayed for a hen do and the house made the trip. It was so special - beautifully decorated, spotless and facilities were excellent. The surroundings were lovely particularly when enjoying from the hot tub! Each bedroom was done wonderfully and each guest felt really looked after and in a 5* stay. The view from the King bedroom was particularly lovely to wake up to! The house offers such a large communal area which was lovely for the occasion. To top it all off, David was so helpful from the day of booking and particular in my last minute flurry or questions. If you want a special trip with beautiful facilities - stay here!

  • This is an amazing place for a large group to stay together. It's easy to access from the motorway and is in a stunning location. The house was spotless, stylishly furnished and the kitchen was well equipped. The host was very helpful and attentive before and during the weekend and communication was good and he replied quickly. It worked really well for us to go away with friends and family to celebrate our birthdays. We enjoyed a meal provided by the recommended chef who came to the house and cooked us an excellent meal. We were able to walk from the house along the canal and we all enjoyed the views, especially from the hot tub! A great place for a house party weekend.

  • The barn is very stylish, sparkling clean and nicely decorated - modern yet homely. It had everything we needed for our stay, and the fresh eggs were a lovely touch. The barn's location is excellent; you have enough privacy but you're not completely isolated. The local village is a 5 minute drive away with plenty of shops should you need something. Communicating with Susan was straight-forward and easy. There were plenty of recommendations for local attractions/experiences which were very much appreciated. The barn really completed our escape from the city life, and we would definitely recommend staying here - it's great value for money too. Thanks again Susan!

Recently renovated accommodation; kitchen/diner, 2 double bedrooms with low ceilings, modern bathroom, enclosed private garden, well behaved pets welcome, located on valley top with amazing views and immediate access to the surrounding countryside.
Our cottage is located in a lovely rural location, surrounded by walks and mountain biking tracks, with impressive panoramic views across the Calder Valley. Perfect if you love being outdoors in the beautiful West Yorkshire countryside. Todmorden with its fab market and pubs is a 30-40 min walk down the valley, and Hebden Bridge a 15 min drive. The cottage is completely self contained, attached to our farm house, but with its own parking and small private garden area. We live next door in the farm house and will normally be around at the weekends if you need anything, but don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of space during your stay. Our neighbourhood consists of 2 other stone farm houses on a country track, accessed off the main road - Kebs Rd/Long Causeway. You will pass both of these and cross 2 further fields before you reach the cottage. We are in a remote location, there is no nearby public transport, so if you come without a car please be prepared to pay for taxis. Nearby we have Blackshaw Head village, a few miles along the Long Causeway towards Hebden Bridge, where you can find the New Delight Inn and May’s Farm Shop. The New Delight is a 50 min walk from the cottage and outside the pub is a bus stop for Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge. Todmorden is a market town with an industrial heritage and an eye to the future with its internationally acclaimed self sufficiency scheme known as Incredible Edible. Its indoor and outdoor markets (open weds to sun) has stalls selling local farm produce. The popular Hebden Bridge has many boutique shops, café’s, restaurants, various festivals and an annual Car Rally. Further afield are Haworth and the Bronte country, Keighley and the Worth Valley Steam Railway. Halifax with its Piece Hall and Eureka museum, the National Trust area of Hardcastle Craggs and the Singing Ringing Tree in Burnley; all are within a radius of 10 miles. From Todmorden and Hebden Bridge there are excellent rail links to Manchester, Leeds, York and Blackpool. Available for short term holiday lets we try to be as flexible as possible in accommodating your needs. Please note there is a minimum 3 night booking over bank holidays.
The views from the cottage are pretty amazing, panoramic and far reaching. We have a great local pub in Blackshaw Head which brews its own beer just up the road from the house called the New Delight (http://www.newdelightinn.co.uk/), and a lovely restaurant called the Staff of Life just down in the valley.
  • We had a fabulous stay, the cottage was lovely and the view from the lounge window was fantastic. Very peaceful location. Aisling was a super helpful host. We would definitely like to come back for another visit.

  • An awesome spot with a great view from the floor to ceiling window. A very warm and cosy cottage to snuggle up and enjoy some dramatic weather. Our lurcher loved the location and we had a great walk around the Bridestones as well as exploring the valley. Directions and communication were great throughout.

    Rachel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A Lovely place up on the tops, Aisling is a great communicator and it is always a pleasure to stay threw.

  • We had an absolutely peaceful stay here. The view from the main window is absolutely out of this world- perfect on a summer or winter day. The lodge is very peaceful and very private even though it is on an operating farm. Thank you for your lovely hospitality

  • A cosy hideaway in some of the most stunning hills and moors this country can offer - will definitely be staying again, fingers crossed for a thunderstorm next time.

  • A remarkable unique stay! Surrounded by folklore this cosy getaway is perfect for getting away from it all, snuggling up and watching the magic mists. Had a wonderful time with my family and kept returning to our favourite cafes in hebden bridge. Picture perfect morning and night walks right on the doorstep. Super peaceful. Will definately consider staying again and friends who visited all enquired about staying in the future!

    Sarah2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Getting to the location can be tricky if you are not used to narrow, twisty roads but when you get to Aisling's directions it's pretty straightforward if a little bumpy! Despite being attached to their house, you feel like place is your own. The conversion is cosy and warm and the beds really comfy. Shower is good too. Views are spectacular with the Bridestones literally on your doorstep. Our two dogs loved the open space and being able to run free safely. Lots of walks straight from the house and Hebden Bridge and Todmorden closee by. We had Sunday lunch at the Shepherds Rest which was spot on with lots of great real ales. Communication was quick and accurate too. Thanks for being great hosts!

  • Wow! Paradise! Brilliant stay at the farm such a lovely place with scenic views and the hot tub tops it all off! Paula was brilliant from start to finish, made us feel welcome and gave us plenty of tips. Nothing was too much to ask! Will be back thanks again 😃

  • Wow! What a dreamy place Gibraltar Cottage is! We spent a week here during Storm Dennis.. the cottage was an absolutely perfect place to shelter from the gale force winds and torrential rain outside. So cosy next to the roaring log burner looking out at the spectacular views. The hot tub was delightful after long walks across the surrounding stunning countryside. We couldn’t have asked for more welcoming, friendly hosts who made us feel completely at home. We’d love to return!

    Rachel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely trip away! Loved the hot tub, will definitely recommend

  • Super awesome. Just book. Go as a couple and you can’t go wrong !!!

    Emma2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Just perfection! I had the most lovely birthday stay there with my boyfriend and puppy. Beautiful setting, so much privacy and in an amazing location. The hosts were lovely and really helpful and the cottage has the most fab views. I loved my birthday evening watching the sunset in the hot tub with some champagne, even though it was January it didn’t matter as the hot tub is, well, hot! The cottage itself is spotless, we loved the log burner and towels left out, plus the water pressure is outstanding! It’s in a fab location for all the local villages and pubs and Lumb Falls is a fab spot for a walk behind the farm. Thank you! We shall be back!

    Chloe2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, we loved the hot tub and the log burner. Kept us all warm on the cold evenings. Beautiful views from the cottage. An all round great place. Thank you!

    Andreas2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent all round for a winter break.

    Becci2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had high hopes for our stay, but all expectations were completely exceeded. The photos don't do the cottage full justice. Amazingly spacious for my partner, puppy and I. Log fire was great and really cosy. We put the hot tub to good use which was so relaxing with views across the hills. Christmas decorations added a lovely extra touch. We'll definitely be back - 10/10 !!

Vegetables, herbs and fruit are now grown, by volunteers, all around the town, for anyone to pick and use. All of the Incredible Edible growing sites, are within a short, walking distance of our house. The 'Calder Valley' is a great place to explore within itself, and the cities of Leeds and Manchester are within a 25 mile radius. Lots of great walks for all abilities are on our doorstep, whether you want a canal stroll, a dales romp or a rock climb. We are on the route of the Calderdale Way, and Hebden Bridge is a 5 mile walk, mostly along the canal towpath. The basement apartment style has followed suit and has undergone a full renovation in Spring/summer 2019.
There is an indoor bike store for up to 4 bikes should you be exploring the town on two wheels!

My home is nestled in the heart of the Calder Valley in Cornholme. Close to Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Burnley and perfect for cyclists, walkers, art lovers, vegetarians & vegans. Log burner for cosy nights in coming end of Nov. There are many gorgeous walks straight from my door step!
The house dates back to around 1864 so it's full of character and quirkiness. It's a back to back but on 4 levels including a cellar and wooden floorboards throughout. It's south facing so we get a lot of light in the house. Beautiful new bathroom suite with double-ended roll top bath and powerful hot shower. There are lovely views of the dramatic Calder Valley hills. It's quite rugged around these parts and you may meet deer or the three wild horses with dread-locked manes that live on the hill on the opposite side of the valley. You may also see a steam train travelling along the track outside the window if you're lucky!
The neighbourhood is exceptional. The people are extremely friendly and always willing to lend a hand. Todmorden is internationally known for Incredible Edible, a community benefit group that aim to provide good local food for all. There has been a recent film featuring the project called Demain. Check it out! There's a fantastic country pub 10 mins down the road from the house called the Staff of Life. The food is excellent. If you fancy going into Todmorden there's a great Thai restaurant called Hanuman. Loads of great cafe's too in Tod, catering for veggies and vegans alike. Local walks: there is a wonderful hour's walk from Cornholme to Todmorden that takes you up the hills, through Beech woods, across a stream and down into Lydgate. From there you can walk though Centre Vale park into Todmorden. There are plenty more local walks from my house, one of which takes you up to a dilapidated Baptist chapel dating back to the 1700's. I can give you directions. There's also Havok mountain bike park set in a forest in Cornholme with red graded downhill runs, a freeride section and dirt jumps.
  • Me and my husband had a nice stay at Donna’s house. We stayed for two nights. The accommodation was clean with a very comfy bed. Although the house was very small it wasn’t a problem. The house was nice and warm and Donna left us some eggs for breakfast on our request, as she was away most of the weekend. Donna was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a short stay.

The butterfly flat is easy to access though limited parking out front - better to park a minute walk away up the road. The flat is compact and convenient. A perfect base for any exploration of the area.

The house is bright, modern, welcoming, in a quiet cul-de-sac, with lovely views of a wooded hill. Large, light double bedroom, freshly decorated and with a new bed. Share of modern bathroom with second loo available downstairs. Breakfast provided. 20 mins walk into Todmorden town centre with bus stop and shop nearby. 5 mins walk to lovely park.
Todmorden is a vibrant and friendly market town with great transport links and fantastic countryside for walkers. It’s also the home of the first Incredible Edible which is still a prominent feature of the town. Although this house is next to the railway line, it’s a quiet line and most people say they don’t notice the trains at all. There is plenty of space for car parking. The shared modern bathroom has a walk-in shower but no bath. I provide breakfast (cereals, toast, fruit, tea, coffee) for guests to help themselves. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen in the evening on request but I am vegetarian so please do not bring meat or fish into the house. There is drawer space available, a hair-dryer, wi-fi, tea and coffee in the room and a clock alarm/radio. I enjoy meeting new people so am happy to chat but equally happy to give you peace and privacy if that’s what you want. Lovely south facing patio, with garden furniture available for sunny days. Very peaceful, with the sound of sheep in the distance and an owl in the evenings.
Todmorden is surrounded by beautiful country-side and has a fantastic market and great history. There's a Tourist Information in town with lots of walking maps and a town tour explaining its history. There's also an Incredible Edible walking tour - get leaflets from Tourist Information or the station. It's a short train journey to Manchester. Also close to Hebden Bridge, which is full of interesting independent shops.

This character cottage is a 10-15 walk from the centre of Hebden Bridge with street parking outside. The property has been recently renovated to a very high standard and includes all amenities of a functioning home. The accommodation has beautiful period features with some modern twists. Facilities include two bedrooms both with double beds, a bathroom with large shower, open spacious kitchen/living room, beautiful garden and plenty of storage inside and out. !!!DOG FRIENDLY!!!
The walk into Hebden Bridge can be done along the scenic canal, with a café and award winning pub just around the corner. Hebden Bridge is a thriving town recently voted the UK's most unspoilt and best independent shopping town.
Originally Hebden Bridge was seen as a "Hippie Hideout" but as the town has changed so has it's residents and visitors. It is now becoming increasingly cosmopolitan and bohemian as artists, performers and the LGBTQ community started following in the footsteps of the first hippies. The town is becoming increasingly popular with tourists/walkers/bikers etc. Furthermore, Hebden Bridge has recently been voted the UK's most unspoilt and best independent shopping town.
  • Lovely, cosy, warm cottage and only a 10 minute walk into Hebden Bridge. Two lovely pubs en route to punctuate the journey!

  • We really loved our stay at Calderside Cottage, the house was absolutely lovely and homely and perfect for us as a quiet retreat for the night to take our dog on some local walks and take in the beautiful views of the surrounding area. The house was spotlessly clean, you would not know the house accepts dogs! The little touches and nice artwork around the house were really cool and added to homely feel. We had a walk up to Stoodley Pike and next day to Hardcastle Crags (both of which a 10 min drive to) We would definitely recommend for a quiet night away. Alex was a great host, we had no issues with the house but was always on hand to help if needed with quick responses to messages and helpful info offered. We plan on coming back very soon!

Quain cottage has original features and a sunny cottage garden with patio at the front in a central but secluded and elevated enclave called Cock Pit. Easy walking distance to all that Todmorden has to offer.
Cock Pit is the oldest part of Todmorden consisting of a group of weaver's cottages clustered around cottage gardens at the foot of a hill and perched just above the river and canal basin in the centre of town with views across the upper Calder Valley.
  • Nick’s cottage is a gem, and Todmorden is a hidden treasure. The room was cosy and old fashioned with an extremely comfy bed. The cottage was well located, in the centre of town, with delightful neighbours (check out Baked next door for delicious bread and snacks). Nick was thoughtful host, friendly, helpful and accommodating. He loves the area and has excellent tips for local things to see and do. Bring boots if you want to walk on the moors. It was beautiful (and muddy!) on my misty, wet weekend.

  • Lovely cottage with plenty of character - so close to the town centre. Nick was very welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable bed. Highy recommended

    Kevin2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nick is a brilliant host - Quain Cottage is a quaint, well-maintained and classic home - Todmorden is a very special place - you will want to keep on returning whenever you get the opportunity - find out for yourself and enjoy!

  • Nick was a wonderful host who provided an easy check in/key collection. His cottage is cosy, comfortable and so cute! We appreciated his hospitality and had a wonderful evening. Thanks Nick

  • Nick is the perfect host; helpful, relaxed, kind, and organised. His house is lovely and it is in a convenient location for the station and the town. His restaurant - Kava - is just round the corner and well worth a visit as the food, service and presentation are impeccable. Thanks for the stay Nick. Very enjoyable.

The place is a (very) little hut, insulated but not heated(!) in the woods next to my own home which I am in the process of building by hand. It's basic, clean (as clean as a hut in the woods ever is) and simple, we are friendly, the building project is unique and it's a generally a really interesting place. Please read the description carefully. This is not Glamping. The cabin is very basic, with two small-ish beds and not a lot of extra room. There is room for hanging out in the garden.
The cabin itself is small and basic. There are two rather narrow single beds* and nothing else, but they are comfy, memory foam mattresses with sheets, pillows and duvets provided. There is no electricity in the hut, but I provide a battery lamp. There is electricity in the garden seating area. The toilet is a composting toilet in the entryway to my house. The water tap in the garden, situated over a sink is the source of drinking and washing water. The site is a build site inhabited by me, my partner and any other volunteers who are on site at the time. This place is pretty unique and is not a glamourous B&B but a safe, fun, interesting place to check out, especially if you have an interest in natural self-build. There is an outdoor living space for use by guests where you can set up your own cooking stuff, i.e. a camp stove. At busy times on site, which is not that often these days, there may be lots of people around and things happening, people to chat with, etc. Otherwise, you will have the quiet garden area to yourself. You can get a flavour of what life is like here from my blog about the build by googling Donated House Todmorden. * The beds are quite narrow, about 75cm wide, and normal single bed length with not much overflow space. I would say if you are a large person, either in girth or height, you may find them too small.
The neighbourhood is a residential one, though my plot is very private, surrounded by mature trees and a ten or fifteen minute walk away from the centre of town. Please note that I do my best to cultivate an excellent relationship with my neighbours, many of whom are also my friends, and I will not be pleased if they are given reason to complain about my guests.
  • Memorable evening at Grace's! We were welcomed in a good mood, shared a meal around the fire and tasted an excellent homemade dessert! Thanks a lot to Grace and her friends! Surely the best accommodation of our roadtrip!

    Elvhan2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We especially loved the rope swing and being able to squirrel-watch from the window - great stuff!

    Sophie2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • If you read the (very honest) listing you will know exactly what to expect - a small (but clean and very well insulated) hut at the edge of a little bit of woodland next to Grace’s fascinating and hugely inspiring mammoth self-build project. Grace herself is incredibly warm, friendly, and one of the most positive people you could hope to meet. She’s also a great cook! If you need a simple, inexpensive, and fascinating place to stay in Todmorden don’t bother looking anywhere else...

    Rick2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in Todmorden, does exactly what it says on the tin and the hosts are lovely. Well worth a visit.

    Lizzy2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Totally different experience of anywhere I’ve stayed before; but charming. Bijoux is about right 👍

    Philip2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet secluded - does exactly what it “says on the tin/ad”

    Danny2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Bijoux Hut is rustic but clean, and looks exactly how it does in the photographs on Airbnb. What totally blew me away though, was the beautiful tranquility of the space where Grace has chosen to build her eco self-build house. We only stayed for 1 night but it was heaven to sit back and chill in the outdoor communal seating area. I lit some tea light candles and enjoyed a a few glasses of red wine whilst playing cards with my son. It was one of those get away from it all breaks, and I left feeling more refreshed than I did when we arrived. Grace was hospitable and but at the same time allowed us space and privacy. I could not recommend this homestay enough.

Our beautiful semi-detached Victorian town house is situated in a very friendly and pretty area on the sunny side of Todmorden. It is a brisk 10 minute walk from Tod centre and backs onto hills and woods. The room is large, comfortable, clean and (like the rest of the house) charmingly boho chic and original. Breakfast is not provided but guests are welcome to use the facilities in our large kitchen. Great base for walking, cycling or working locally. Hosted by Dan (& occasionally Hannah).
The guest bedroom is a good sized room on the first floor, next door to the bathroom. There is a comfortable single bed, a desk and a nice two-seater sofa for relaxing or reading. This room is a perfect space for working or enjoying a bit of quiet time. Or as somewhere nice to come back to after a day in the hills or enjoying what the valley has to offer.
Todmorden (Tod) has a lively local community with a lot interesting things going on. A very popular market in the middle of town (indoor and outdoor). Good pubs ( from Thursday over weekend is best). Wonderful for walking and cycling. House backs onto hillside with easy access to the moors including The Pennine Way and The Calderdale Way. And there is a soothing background of clucking, tweeting and tooting to soothe your stay. The neighbourhood round the house is quiet, friendly and pleasantly picturesque. And we are on the sunny side of the valley which counts for a lot round here!
  • Nice room with single bed and desk in nice area. Parking not the easiest but manageable. Hosts are welcoming and helpful, shared bathroom and kitchen.

    George2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in this place before, and it does not disappoint. Location is handy for the town centre (Todmorden), and the house is very stylish; comfortable beds. Tea/coffee making facilities available in the room, and the provision of a bar of chocolate is a nice touch.

  • Dan is a welcoming and friendly host, and a good source of local knowledge. He responded quickly to questions before I arrived. The room was just what I was looking for - I particularly appreciated the desk - and the bathroom is also lovely. Planning to return!

  • A perfect location in a town teeming with history and character/s. Very comfortable accommodation at great value for money. The facilities shared with Dan and Han (kitchen, bathroom) worked fine. Excellent hosts who take a genuine interest in people staying with them.

This space is an open plan space on three levels with a mezzanine bedroom with low beams. There is a small kitchen area with basic cooking facilities which comprises of a mini oven with double hob. It is self contained with its own shower room and private entrance on the roadside.
Parking off road in the farm yard or limited space for one car outside the flat. There are lots of wild, windy walks in the area for the adventurous
It is close to the historic towns of Hebden Bridge and Todmorden and within easy reach of Manchester and Leeds via the train service that runs through the valley. There are lots of good eating experiences within 10-15 mins by car. Unfortunately there is no public transport, the nearest bus stop is 1.5 miles away in the village of Blackshawhead

  • As our stay was brief, we wanted somewhere that would let us get straight out of the door and onto the moor. The result was a magical New Year's Day walk from this warm and cosy farmhouse annexe to Widdop. If you arrive with food supplies, meaning you don't have to drive to a shop, it makes a brilliant base for the south Pennines. And Frances is a superb host, who was very relaxed about our extremely late arrival. Our start to 2020 is a lovely memory and I look forward to going back.

  • Thank you so much. You provided us the perfect base for our first experience of todmorden. We’re incredibly grateful.

  • Lovely place for a short break to visit the lovely towns of Halifax and Hebdon Bridge. This is a small but imaginatively designed cottage and gives you everything you need for a break. We were only there for two nights trvaelling home to wales but it served our needs well and we would recommend it to any couple wishing to visit this area.

  • We had a 3 nights stay at the Pantry, and that was the perfect countryside location to visit Liverpool and then York. Thank you Frances and I definitely recommend you and your Pantry.

  • I booked The Pantry as a surprise for my parents so my Dad could go to a falconry experience day close by. It did not disappoint! My parents were very happy and were impressed with the use of space. Views around the area (we've seen plenty of photos!) are beautiful and right on your doorstep. Frances is a lovely host who answered every question before I booked, and after too! Lovely stay and parent recommended!

I live in the heart of Todmorden, in what was an original back to back cottage terrace. The house has been completely renovated keeping the characterful features and is richly decorated which reflects my love for travel. My furniture and walls are covered with my choice of vintage finds, antiques and objects d’art. Everything you need for your stay is here. The house is spacious and based over three floors.
The house offers a large socialable, well equipped dining kitchen. Cosy relaxing lounge with 3 sofas for lounging in front of the woodburning stove. There is WiFi and Smart TV with DVD. On the first floor is a large luxury bathroom with double sink, separate shower and freestanding bath. The first bedroom is next door with double bed and single day bed, wardrobe. On the 2nd floor is the other bedroom with queen size bed, wardrobe and armchair. One well behaved dog welcome. A towel is also provided to dry off after good walk, this is in the utility area. There is parking at the back of the house within car park. The house has easy access to great walking via canal or pathways. The Rochdale canal is a two minute walk away from house. Included are towels and good quality bedlinen. A large light dining kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, microwave, electric cooker and hob, radio and sofa to relax in whilst cooking. A pantry/utility off the kitchen with plenty hooks for coats and to store muddy boots. Full central heating throughout with double glazed windows. To welcome you on your arrival you will find tea and coffee, milk in the fridge.
In Todmorden the motto is “Kindness” with acceptance and inclusion. It has many amenities you would normally find in a city, but within a beautiful country setting. A tourist information centre is also with centre. We have a river and one canal, and many small woodlands, moorlands perfect for walking and mountain biking. We are lucky to have a number of brilliant festivals and events throughout the year, including some fantastic music venue on our doorstep. Hebden Bridge is also only one stop on the train or a stroll down the canal. The area is superb for cycling and walking plus it has a lively cafe culture, with quirky independent shops, galleries and market. Nearby are Hebden Bridge, Howarth, Heptonstall, Holmfirth, and Halifax.

The house is an Edwardian situated on a quiet cul de sac of just 8 houses overlooking Todmorden with a rural aspect and stunning view over the South Pennine moors. The town centre is 10 minutes walk away and behind the house is open countryside leading to numerous walks such as Pennine and Calderdale ways. Your room has nice view over garden. I prov. self serve breakfast ingredients ON request Big discount for a one week booking in Jan and feb ! 25% off -so I week is only around £100
The room is a good sized double and has its own brand new ensuite. I have provided a comfortable double bed, TV, hairdryer, some drawer space and facilities for brewing tea and coffee. There is also an electric heater in case you need extra warmth on top of the central heating. As you can see from the photos the room looks out over the garden and the woods behind. Although the room is essentially for two adults there is enough space to accommodate a child or even two small ones! I can provide a comfortable air bed for children. The rest of the house has an inviting and cosy feel to it with wooden floors and doors and two wood burning stoves. The house is very clean but please don’t expect pristine condition except in your room and en-suite , as I don’t believe in replacing kitchens etc for the sake of it . I’m sorry I don’t accept pets and I don’t have any pets myself ( I do have another basic room that you may be able to use for an extra guest by private arrangement assuming you are booking the Airbnb room )
Todmorden is a Yorkshire working market town . There's lots going on with its market, art and crafts shops, Incredible Edible Todmorden - famed worldwide for promoting community growing and sharing of produce - and it is set in the wonderful South Pennine hills on the border between Yorkshire and Lancashire. The opportunities for hill walking are endless and our house is right on the edge of open country. Both the Calderdale Way and the famous Pennine Way pass very near to us. Calderdale is also interesting for the network of canals, rivers, railway and roads that run through it - it's a lovely walk along the canal to Hebden Bridge. There are several pleasant cafes where you can enjoy a coffee and lovely vegetarian food. Todmorden has a particularly lively pub with regular gigs by well known musicians etc Hebden Bridge - another picturesque town with delightful shops and cafes is only 4 miles down the valley and there’s a regular bus and train services there. There are also good rail links to Leeds and Manchester and all they have to offer .

Enjoy time away in my beautiful large peaceful attic bedroom. The room is light and south facing with fantastic views over Hebden Bridge. Just a few minutes walk into town or woods. Tea and coffee making in your room. En suite wc and sink. Longer stays welcome. If you are using instant book please tell me a bit about yourself at the same time and the reason for your visit.
I live in a beautiful Victorian terraced house on a quiet street with easy access to town and country. My house is spacious, welcoming and well equipped and you will feel at home when you are here. Also the room is beautiful and private and the views are spectacular.
Hebden Bridge needs no introduction! I live here not only because of its physical beauty but also because of its culture, people and access to nature. The woods are literally five minutes walk from my house but it's also only 10 minutes to walk into town and experience life there. Plenty to do during the day and evening: cafes, theatre, wine bars, cinema, fair trade shopping, pop up arts events; festivals ; Trades Club. Or just sit by the river and enjoy the water and the people who pass by. Great food for vegetarians, vegans and carnivores both here and in our neighbouring town of Todmorden.
  • Quiet and comfortable night in a lovely home. Highly recommend!

  • This is a really spacious room with a jaw-dropping view which has to be the best thing to wake up to. It was also warm and cosy which is important considering much of the week it was around freezing outside. Liz was thoughtful and considerate of my needs. This is lovely if you are looking for somewhere peaceful and quiet, and central to the town.

The place is really cute, almost all new, seriously super close to the train station, super close to downtown, and any restaurant pubs or shops you may want. My husband and I couldn’t have asked for better hosts or a better place. The kitchen is stocked, we’ve been provided plenty of towels, sheets, and cleaning utensils/sprays, really, it’s been a great stay. We definitely recommend to all of our fellow air B and B’ers!

A beautifully restored and furnished luxury cottage for two in the funky town of Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. Superking sized bed, roll top bath and lots of exposed York stone make this a cosy, romantic retreat.
The cottage is set over three floors and features a cosy sitting room with cast iron gas stove, a small but well equipped kitchen, utility with additional shower and a first floor offering a luxury bathroom and bedroom with solid oak flooring and original features.
Hebden Bridge is pretty unique and is a great place to visit. It offers the best of both worlds; the surrounding countryside offers miles of beautiful walks and is a great base for mountain biking and road cycling. The town is always buzzing, offering plenty of cafes, restaurants, pubs, independent shops and the famous Trades Club for live music.

  • A really lovely cottage, interesting and stylish. The downstairs utility room is really useful in bad weather for drying clothes. Good views from the windows. A convenient location for popping in and out of the centre but also easy to walk into the hills, there's a good path just on the other side of the road that goes up through a wood.

  • A beautiful, clean and well-appointed cottage retreat, right in the heart of Hebden Bridge. It's a really comfortable base from which to explore the wilds of West Yorkshire, including Hardcastle Crags (only 20 mins walk away). Jonathan was a really attentive host, and the helpful welcome pack was a lovely touch. There are a number of steep stoney stairs in the property, so it's not an ideal choice if you have mobility problems, but we loved it and we can't wait to visit again!

Set in the steep and stunning Luddenden Valley within 13 hectares of beautiful Calderdale countryside, Jerusalem Farm Barn is a barn conversion set close to Jerusalem Farm Campsite and is surrounded by a landscape of woodland valleys and high moorland plateaux. With a welcoming atmosphere and accessibility-friendly facilities, Jerusalem Farm Barn is a perfect place to enjoy the local nature reserve, which provides a safe haven for woodland birds, woodpeckers, herons and deer.
Jerusalem Farm Barn was created with people with accessibility needs in mind. The barn is fully accessible for wheelchair users and has facilities including a hoist which runs from the bedroom to fully accessible en suite bathroom and profiling bed . With its own extensive network of footpaths, Jerusalem Farm Barn also makes an ideal base from which to access the wider countryside, which is largely protected for its breeding bird population and can be easily accessed by foot or push bike through an extensive and well marked network of public rights of way. The camp site and the spacious grassy areas below the barn are also accessible by wheelchair. Situated between Halifax and Hebden Bridge, the site is perfect for exploring the surrounding South Pennines, an area rich in both natural and industrial archaeology. The mill towns of Sowerby Bridge and Mytholmroyd (the birthplace of former Poet Laureate Ted Hughes) are nearby, with Hebden Bridge particularly good for day trips, with cafés, galleries and a grand old picture house. Haworth, home of the Brontës, is just a few miles over the moors. "Eureka!", The National Children’s Museum in Halifax (for big and little kids) can be reached in around 20 minutes as can the Grade I listed Piece Hall. The green oasis of Shibden Estate with its park and hall, soon to be seen on TV in the BBC/HBO drama Gentleman Jack. Jerusalem Farm is owned and operated by Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council
Jerusalem Farm is set in the picturesque Luddenden Valley. This community is dominated by small cottages and farms, and has a extensive network of footpaths which included the nationally recognised trails The Calderdale Way and Pennine Way. Two small villages can be located in the Luddenden Valley. Luddenden with Grade II listed Lord Nelson Pub, once regularly frequented by the famous Branwell Bronte, and Midgley which its community run local shop.
  • This is great if you want to get away from it all. Having no phone signal was a bonus as we all talked to each other and played games. We enjoyed nature being literally on our doorstep. Any questions we had were answered very promptly. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

  • Perfect property for my elderly Mum with mobility issues. Also large communal space for everyone to be together, especially liked that the kitchen area was open plan so if like me you end up doing the cooking you don't feel detached from the rest of the party.

  • Fantastic place to stay in a magnificent setting. This is my second year staying here and it was perfect in every way. The accessibility features such as hoist and electric bed made the perfect place to stay even better. Can't wait to stay again soon

Attached to Little Nook Farm, the cottage is the perfect base to escape city life. Located in the beautiful Pennine countryside, it is situated on the edge of the Calderdale way above Hebden Bridge, with stunning views over the hilltop village of Old Town, and across the valley towards Heptonstall. The perfect location for walking or cycling on the moors and surrounding area, and we are approximately one mile from the centre of Hebden Bridge.
Little Nook Farm is the home of Gareth & Siobhan. Their home is shared by the resident horses, whom are more than happy to have an ear scratch or a head stroke. There are also numerous chickens and ducks, and the farm pets; Otis, the dog and Milo, Gerty & Chester, the friendly farm cats. The cottage has an open plan living and dining area, which includes a wood burning stove to supplement the electric heaters. A beautiful cast iron spiral staircase leads off the living area to the mezzanine, which houses the sleeping area and en-suite shower and toilet. The kitchen area has a fridge, electric hob, small oven, toaster and microwave. Pots and pans, cutlery and a basic range of condiments are provided. Washing and ironing facilities are available upon request. Tea and coffee are provided to ensure your break starts off perfectly with a brew on arrival. Free Wifi is available. There is a TV, DVD player and Google Chromecast to provide entertainment during your stay. Well behaved dogs are welcome; however we request that you let us know that you are bringing a doggie friend when you book.
  • We had a lovely time at Little Nook Farm. The place was so wonderfully cosy, especislly with the stove lit and with the wind and rain howling outside. The views from the panoramic windows are incredible, looking out over the moors to Heptonstall and Stoodley Pike (which we walked to fron the cottage, about 9.5 miles round trip). We love this part of the world and Little Nook Farm is the ideal place to enjoy it from!

  • This was such a unique place, we loved the cost vibe of the cottage, spectacular views, adorable tiny house atmosphere but lacking nothing. Beautiful location and short walk/drive into Hebden Bridge where there was so many different boutiques, bars and restaurants to choose from. Would definitely love to come again!

Cosy double room in our 200 year old, three storey weaver's cottage close to Hollingworth Lake. Ideal base for walking or cycling (we have secure space for cycles). Hebden Bridge and the Saddleworth villages are just a short drive and the Pennine Way - 3 miles. Need to get into Manchester (25mins) or Leeds? The station is just 2 minutes walk. The room is spacious and has, in addition to the double bed, a single sprung bed settee so could accommodate 2 adults + 1 child
The room is very cosy with a double bed and pull-out single (sprung) so could accommodate 3 adults (for short stays only) or 2 adults and 1 child (under 12's no charge).
Best of both worlds! No need to drive to the country, you're already here yet hop on a train and you will be in Manchester's vibrant city centre in less than half an hour. Five minutes from M62 Junction 21
  • Great place to stay. Really lovely to walk down to the lake in an evening.

  • I stayed briefly at Lois place which was clean, tidy and very comfortable. Lois was a warm and welcoming host at a difficult time for myself and she made a lovely cup of tea ! The house itself is situated near the station and within easy walking distance of Hollingworth lake with it’s pubs and restaurants and lovely country side if you like walking. I would definitely recommend a stay.

    Jackie2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and pleasant place and Lois is a fantastic host.

    Anne2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • The room is clean, comfy and simple. Plenty of hanging space, cosy in cold weather and a great bathroom too. WiFi was reliable, and Lois was friendly and welcoming. Only thing I'd suggest would be to add a mirror in the bedroom. Would definitely stay again!

    Anna2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • An interesting old house, with a friendly caring host. In a quiet location, within 2 minutes walk of the train station, an Indian restaurant & a Chinese take away. An excellent location for exploring Hollingworth lake & it's rural surroundings, while just a 10 minute train ride gets you to Manchester & all it has to offer!

    Melissa2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • What it says on the tin.

    Dave2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lois is a kind and warmhearted host. The room is on the 2nd floor and bigger than it shows on the photos. The blinds keep the light out and the shower is great! I made an omelette, as I was able to make simple cooking in Lois kitchen. All clean and tidy. It's easy to park outside, on the road leading up to the house. I recommend Lois's house and room.

    Beatrice2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lois is a lovely lady, I felt relaxed and comfortable in her Airbnb and enjoyed chatting to her.

A traditional weavers cottage in the hill top village of Midgley overlooking the Calder Valley. An ideal location for hill walking, fell running, cycling or just relaxing in a beautiful setting. A short walk away from Midgley Moor with it's historic standing stones and burial chambers, or a short distance from Hebden Bridge with it's independent shops, cafe's and restaurants. Ideal for a weekend away in a traditional Yorkshire Stone cottage with mullion windows. Well behaved dog welcome.
66 Towngate is a cosy cottage with underfloor heating downstairs. The house is practical and comfortable. The views are absolutely stunning and although the cottage is just below the moor, access to Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd is very good.
Midgley is a small hilltop village. The people are very friendly. You will meet the locals, dog walkers, mountainbikers and horse riders. The local shop is run by very helpful volunteers from the area. Next to the shop is the community room which is open at times for tea and cake or an evening talk or quizz.
