  • Brilliant location seated nicely in the Scottish Borders! We visited during the storm of the year and we were nice and cosy in the hot tub out of the rain on the Saturday night, it made it all the more special somehow! The whole accommodation is fantastically clean with easy access and trouble free parking. Would strongly recommend! Lovely family hosting us too! With plenty of recommendations and thoughtful touches.

  • Such a lovely apartment for a weekend away to just chill and relax! The hot tub is a fabulous bonus to relax in after walks in the beautiful surround hill areas. Lovely hosts and just a perfect stay, will for sure be booking again!

  • Had a brilliant weekend stay, the small thoughtful touches were much appreciated. Plenty to do if you want to have a more active weekend or good to also just have a quiet weekend in the hot tub. Friendly hosts and made to feel at home.

  • This is the second time we have stayed at the apartment and it was just as amazing as the first time and would defo book again in the future and highly recommend to anyone as a perfect stay a slice of heaven away from home just perfect .

  • Danny and Pauline’s place is a little slice of heaven nestled within the hills of Innerleithen. It’s the perfect apartment to stay at if you’re looking for somewhere to unwind and relax, which is exactly what we needed. From the twinkly fairy lights and Birthday banner, to the jam, milk and butter in the fridge (and Prosecco, the most important amenity of course), there were so many thoughtful, little touches that Danny and Pauline included in our stay. The hot tub and log fire were what attracted me to this apartment initially, and although they were brilliant, it was the friendliness and warmth of the hosts that made this trip as lovely as it was. A special mention to Pauline’s Mum (sorry if I’ve got that wrong!). She was an absolute gem, making sure we had matches and logs for the fire, as well as advising us on some fabulous walks. We would definitely stay here again and 100% recommend the apartment to our friends. Thanks again, Rach and Danny.

  • We had a fantastic stay over Christmas at the apartment. It was everything we could have wished for. The hospitality from the hosts was amazing with thoughtful gestures throughout our stay that made us feel so welcome. The hot tub, log burner and sky TV allowed us to really relax in style. Kitchen well equipped to cook a full Christmas dinner!

    Bert2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for two to unwind and enjoy quiet, peaceful surrounds. We didn’t walk much on this occasion as we just needed to chill and enjoy the views but we will be back for a longer stay so we can explore all the area has to offer. Terry provides plenty of local knowledge about walks etc with an extensive file of local places to visit. The accommodation has all essentials, comfortable bed, fluffy towels, tea, coffee etc.

    Pauline2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved my stay here! The flat is stunning, really nicely done out and has everything you need to relax after a day out in the forests and hills around the tweed valley. Terry and Aimee were very accommodating and had some great tips for the area - their place is great value and I hope to be back!

    Andrew2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing stay at Terry and Aimee's place. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and much more. Lot's of thoughtful touches! The hosts were friendly and welcoming and provided great advice on things to do during our short stay. Ideally located with the most beautiful views over the river and the surrounding hills. Lot's of amazing walks nearby and walking distance to restaurants, pubs and cafes so we didn't need to use the car at all. It was my first time in the borders and we've definitely fallen in love with the area and look forward to exploring more. We'll definitely be booking again soon :)

  • Angus & Esther’s place is truly beautiful; stylish and cozy and with great amenities and plenty of personal touches that make you feel really cared for. Communication with them was informative and friendly and they had plenty of information about the surrounding area and access. They even went out of their way to bake us (vegan) brownies. We would HIGHLY recommend and would most certainly stay again when/if we’re in the area again. Thank you both so much for a wonderful stay!

    Josh2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying in Esther and Angus' home, they were really friendly, and hospitable, making shortbread which was delicious! The log fire made our stay very cosy. We enjoyed walking in the local area too!

  • Beautiful converted dairy near Walkerburn. The accommodation is welcoming, furnished tastefully with both modern and vintage touches. We especially enjoyed the wood burning above which gave the property a cosy feel and warmed the living room and bedroom. Perfect for a weekend away with all amenities required and prompt communication when needed with the hosts. Would stay here again 🙂

  • A warm welcome from owner and chickens here! This is a charming cottage in a peaceful location on an old farm. Wildlife abounds outside, whilst inside you can cook up some super fresh eggs from the chickens running past the window! Snuggle up by the log burner and enjoy the countryside (and Esther's shortbread). Everything we needed was there. Great communication from Esther, including top wildlife spotting tips!

  • Fabulous hostess! Lois thought of everything and was truly welcoming and helpful. I'd definitely recommend staying with Lois.

    Jennifer2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really comfortable and enjoyable stay at Lois' house. The house is warm, spacious and well equipped with almost instant hot water for the private shower; the room was comfortable - good mattress, generous bedding and all the storage etc. you could want. As a host Lois was welcoming and hospitable, a good conversationalist. I'd recommend this room as a base to explore the borders.

    James2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • The room looks much better than the pictures on the Airbnb. Cozy and clean, and bed is extremely comfortable. I really like to chat with Lois, sharing the progress I got from mountain bike trip. Look forward to be back again: )

    Nancy2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is what I consider to be exemplary accommodation. Offers just what is needed -clean, quiet, safe and warm accommodation. The price is fair - something on the verge of extinction in many parts of the UK.

    Elsa2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed a very comfortable couple of nights here as it was conveniently located for the tour of the borders cycling event in Peebles. Access from Edinburgh by bus was easy, even with a bike (our host Lois was very helpful in arranging this) and the location is beautiful. Rooms were very comfortable and Lois is a lovely and welcoming host with nice touches provided like tea and coffee facilities in the room. Highly recommend a stay here.

  • Gavin and Zoe's place is a fantastic and cosy retreat right in the heart of this beautiful Scottish village. The place has everything you need for a few days away, though if you have a pet be warned that there is no rear entrance leading straight to the garden. The surrounding area is breathtaking. Great cycle tracks, roads, and forests to explore. The nearby town of Peebles had some outstanding food to offer too. I'd come back again! Would definitely recommend this place.

    Rose2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for mountain biking, really cool interior touches, everything you need for a relaxing stay and super cosy.... definitely will be making a return!

    Corinna2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for the weekend whilst up in Scotland to go mountain biking at nearby Glentress and had a brilliant time. The location of the flat was ideal and the facilities just what we needed. The bike storage felt really secure, the shower was super powerful (ideal for washing off all the mud after biking!) and lovely that it was dog friendly too so we were able to bring along the pooch! Would definitely stay here again if we come back up and absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a base in the area.

    Alice2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic little flat with everything you could possibly need as well as some lovely extras provided - towel for our scruffy dog, chocolate for us! There are great walks in the area and Innerleithen itself has lots to offer with good cafes , pubs and takeaways. We will definitely be back!

    Chris2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This flat had everything we could’ve possibly needed for a weekend of biking in Innerleithen and Glentress. It was such a cozy and welcoming place! Even down to the heating being on just before us arriving, which was much appreciated on a very wet and windy evening! I would definitely recommend!

    Chloe2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place, cosy and clean with everything a dedicated mountain biker needs. Comfortable beds, excellent location and a warm apartment

    Thomas2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A clean, warm and homey place to stay when riding bikes in Innerleithen. The heating was on when we arrived and the place is clean and stylish. Communication was fast and good. The bathroom heats up really quick and is good for drying stuff if you're out riding bikes in the wet. Generally a really nice place, we appreciated it lots. As Scandis we also enjoyed the Scandi vibe to the place. Would definitely come back!

  • Clare was quick to respond, friendly and helpful, though not overbearing. She made us feel completely welcome and at home. Her room offered a wonderfully comfortable bed in a large space, with hotel-like privacy and features (including a private balcony on which we had dinner). I great location too, central to Innerleithen town.

Set in an idyllic position beside Cardrona golf course, the property enjoys an enviable location in the heart of the Scottish Borders. The spacious suite (40sq m) is peacefully located in the wing of a beautiful family home. It’s a wonderful split-level space and includes plenty of storage and a superb ensuite bathroom. The property is in an ideal location for exploring the scenic Tweed Valley, with cycle trails, walking routes, the golf course and the river itself, all right on the doorstep!
This stunning room is primarily a spacious suite for two. However, the space can also be easily adapted, to comfortably accommodate a family of four, or up to three adults sharing.
  • Ideally located for walking, cycling and golf with great access to Edinburgh. A marvellous house with a comfortable and warm suite to stay in. Richard and his family are friendly and welcoming, they love to meet people and are genuine interested. Peebles town is a short drive away and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. I would stay again without hesitation.

  • A most beautiful home with welcoming host offering all the facilities we needed for a comfortable five star stay. We would have no hesitation recommending this to the discerning traveller and will be certain to return if we are in the area again. A perfect location for Peebles, the River Tweed and the beautiful surrounding countryside.

  • Absolutely brilliant stay, couldn’t fault it. Richard and Sarah are so so lovely and cannot so enough to help. Beautiful home in a gorgeous location! Amazing little touches like breakfast, homemade baking and pillow spray. We loved our stay and will 100% be coming back. Thank you so much :) for welcoming us to your home away from home xx

  • Absolutely brilliant stay with Richard and family. The accommodation is second to none, spotlessly clean with some lovely extra touches that really make the stay special. This was the perfect base for our family weekend away where we enjoyed some fantastic mountain biking, fishing and walking. Richard was a great host with valuable local knowledge and a truly 'magnificent' place to stay while visiting the area! We will definitely be back!

Quiet street with lovely private, enclosed garden, secure store and washing/drying area for bikes & muddy clothes! Home from home with everything you need, including coffee machine & wifi. Walking distance to the high street with it's unique gift shops, cafes and restaurants.
The cottage has a lovely enclosed private garden with outdoor furniture. There is an outside tap which is perfect for washing down bikes or muddy outdoor gear. The secure basement has washing and drying facilities and can be used to store bikes. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a coffee machine. We also have games, books and magazines for you to enjoy. We have a single camp bed for a third person although we do charge £15 extra, per stay to cover cleaning costs. Please note the garden is not currently fully secure so if you have a young dog/child there is still potential for an escapee!
The cottage is walking distance to the high street which has lots of lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. It is also near to the beginning of the cycle path which takes you to Glentress and Innerleithen. Peebles is 22 miles from Edinburgh and has regular bus service which will take you directly to the city centre.
  • Excellent place to stay. Would recommend.

    Gillian2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was perfect for our weekend away. It has all the amenities you could possibly need, it was warm and cosy with fresh flowers in all the rooms. It is spotlessly clean, easy to find and parking was available right at the door. Tesco is really close so you can stock up with anything you need once you've arrived.

    Diana2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Margot's place is very homely and comfortable, spectacularly clean, and has everything you need. The garden is large and secure, so Stella (the dog) was safely let out at night without having to worry she will escape. At the end of the garden is a river, so the outlook is interesting. But just 1 minute walk away is a large Tesco, and the High Street is about a 5 minute walk, so it's extremely convenient. There were some very nice touches - fresh daffodils in the rooms, and while I resisted the wine the chocolate was delicious! I would recommend Dale Cottage to anyone who likes space, cleanliness and convenience. Parking is free and I was able to park immediately outside the cottage. I will certainly be back.

    Tim2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is fantastic as I thought it would be but its the extras that makes this stand apart from others....a little bottle of fizz to a good selection of TV. Its immaculate throughout and all the essentials in the kitchen, lovely BIG towels for the shower and its warm n toasty (helpful with Storm Ciara!) The location is ideal opposite Tesco, not far from the pubs & resaurants. Parking was really easy outside and check in was via a lockbox so simple. I've stayed in a few places in Peebles but this will be our go to in future

    Mel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This property is very comfortable lovely and warm and very clean we loved it.

  • This is a really warm and cosy cottage which is a pleasure to stay in. Only a couple of minutes from Peebles town centre, it’s ideally placed for food and shops, but it’s also ideally placed to explore other parts of the borders. Margot is a lovely host who made sure our stay was perfect. My partner and I spent a long weekend here and I would stay again in a heartbeat.

    Alisdair2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay at Margot’s place. The cottage had a great check in facility and was clean and cosy throughout. It was perfect for our small dog too because the garden was enclosed. The Now Tv package was a great little extra. Fab shower! Margot was kind enough to let us check out a little later. We will be back in the future.

  • The perfect location for exploring the Tweed Valley. Great hosts who provide the finer touches to complete a great stay.

    Phil2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • River View is a lovely home which served us five intrepid explorers well as a base for exploring the surroundings. We were taking part in the Glentress trail race and it was only a short drive away in the morning. The house itself was spacious, warm, with plenty of room for us to spread about and relax in comfort before and after the race. The kitchen was well equipped and Willie had left us some milk, eggs, bacon and bread which were all scoffed, along with a cake which had been baked for my birthday - another lovely, personal touch.

    Stephen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fab place to stay. Had everything I needed and more. Having small children I really appreciated the extra touches like black out blinds, cot and high chair. Arriving to a welcome pack made life so much easier too.

    Libby2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This home is even better than it looks in the pics, much bigger. We had 5 adults and a baby stay for Christmas and we each had our own space. The baby slept well as noise doesn't travel through the house. The area is peaceful with beautiful scenery. Home from home is an apt description as you feel extremely comfortable. The hosts have paid great attention to detail with lots of nice touches and notes for guests, you can feel how much they care. All in all we had a great family time for our babies first Christmas.

    Georgie2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a mountain biking weekend in Innerleithen and had a fantastic time. Thanks Willie.

    Frazer2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Willie are thoughtful hosts who made sure we had a pleasant stay at River view. Waking up to the view from their backyard was a delight every morning. I would definitely go back with my friends and family.

    Ankita2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with a friend for two nights when we were running part of the Southern Upland Way. The cottage was beautifully decorated, spotless and had all the facilities we could need. The hosts kindly left a welcome pack of bread, milk, eggs etc that was much appreciated. We loved the view out towards the river and enjoyed watching the horses in the field behind the property. We would definitely stay again if we visit the area

    Melanie2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay with family and friends. You will get everything you can think of in this amazing house. True home away from home. Very well designed for all age groups especially for elderly people who have restricted mobility. The views of the farm and river is a big plus. The village is worth exploring. Chris and Willie are wonderful hosts. They guided us with nearby walks and places to visit. They both are extremely prompt and supportive to their hosts. Welcome cake, wine and great stuff in the kitchen was overwhelming. Each room has plenty of space and natural light. I will definitely recommend this because of its design and comfort. It is about 50 mins drive from Edinburgh and has breathtaking views. From your trip ,spare an entire day in this house and enjoy the true feel of Home Away from Home.

Neidpath Cottage is beside a spectacular medieval castle, perched above the River Tweed, just minutes from the thriving town of Peebles. It is sunny and charming, with a real log fire and comfortable beds. Perfect for biking at Glentress. The Master Bedroom has a fabulous four poster bed, and and en-suite shower room. There is also a separate family bathroom.
Neidpath Cottage, is all on one level, so very easy for children and less mobile people. The bunk-bed room has an extra pull out mattress for a third person. All the main rooms look out over the River Tweed.
When you book, we send a helpful list of local information.
  • Beautiful location despite being buffeted by storm dennis?! Great views, even in a cold and windy February. Comfortable bedrooms and stylish bathrooms. Good facilities (well stocked for kitchenware). Above all a cosy, relaxing living space with an excellent fireplace. Would recommend.

    Gareth2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • TL;DR — Amazing. Lulu is a great host, the whole experience was way above our expectations. We arrived at an amazing cottage right by the castle walls to find a basket full of treats, a Christmas tree and a fire place ready to be started. The cottage is overlooking a beautiful meandering river Tweed, and a path along its banks. To call the location breathtaking would be an understatement. The cottage itself is very comfortable, ideal for 6 people (we were two couples and two kids). It feels remote and quiet, but is actually very easy to find and get to — just google Neidpath castle and follow corresponding sign on your way from Peebles, a lovely town just a couple of minutes away. The place is actually really easy to reach by taxi from Edinburgh. All the instructions Lulu left us were precise and the communication was perfect, nearly instantaneous.

    Jul2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cottage, very well equipped kitchen - easily prepared a dish of scallops and a rib eye steak meal! The open fire is fantastic. The cottage was very clean and with modern tasteful finishings. The beds were very comfy ! We easily walked in to town with a buggy, Peebles is charming with great independent shops/butchers/fishmongers.

    Fraser2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what an amazing standard of accommodation. The castle had caught my eye on a previous trip to the area so I was thrilled to be able to book the cottage. The accommodation is as a stylish, clean and comfortable as it gets (the inviting photos don't really do it justice), and Lulu's package of detailed advice pre-arrival was extremely easy to use and helpful. The kitchen was very well equipped, the bathrooms bang up to date and the bedrooms and sitting room elegant and supremely comfortable. I liked the privacy offered - bedrooms on opposite sides of the living accommodation - which wasn't an issue for two quiet middle aged ladies but could be for a family or larger group of friends. The area is magnificent. The Borders is the equal of the Highlands for dramatic scenery (and perhaps superior in quaint towns) and Peebles is a lovely community. There are plenty of local shops, not least the amazing Cocoa Black Chocolate Shop & Cafe. Navigating the B roads for a more scenic tour of the area meant for amazing vistas, and very relaxing motoring - both the B709 and B708 from Peebles to Selkirk and the B712 and A701 from Peebles to Moffat offer some of the most stunning scenery around.

    Cynthia2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Neidpath Cottage is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in. It was like stepping back in time and I could have spent hours looking out at the views and curled up on the sofa. The Castle is gorgeous and the whole experience was unique and very special. Would definitely stay again 😄

    Tiffany2019-10-01T00:00:00Z

The open plan kitchen-living area is complemented by a multi-fuel stove which sits in a recessed stone fireplace bordered by wood-stores. The kitchen is well-equipped with under counter fridge/freezer, oven with grill and hob and washing machine and dishwasher. In the bedroom a French imported double bed promises a good nights sleep and built in wardrobes provide plenty of storage space. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower with underfloor heating. The apartment has its own private entrance at the rear of the property and opens out onto an enclosed terrace with use of the garden beyond. Parking is outside the apartment and a fully secure bike store is also available.
Situated just 20 miles south of Edinburgh, Cardrona lies just 3 miles east of the busy market town of Peebles providing the perfect base for exploring this historical and beautiful region. Its busy and eclectic high street provides a range of good shopping facilities and a weekly market. Nestled along side the shops you will find art galleries, cafes and award winning restaurants; a museum, swimming pool and the wonderful Eastgate Theatre converted from an old church at the end of the High Street. Opportunities abound for walking, fishing on the salmon-rich Tweed and golf at local courses in Peebles, Cardrona and Innerleithen. World class mountain biking and Go Ape is available at Glentress Forest, 1.5 miles away and more challenging trails can be found down the road in Innerleithen. Sitting proudly on the hill outside Peebles, you can visit the 14th century Neidpath Castle once visited by Mary Queen of Scots and to the east of Cardrona some three miles away in the small village of Traquair stands Traquair House, the oldest continuously inhabited house in Scotland. Peebles hosts food, mountain biking, arts and music festivals throughout the year including the Beltane which lasts an entire week in June and features the spectacle of hundreds of horses being ridden through the town and culminates with the colourful Crowning of The Beltane Queen on the steps of the parish church. Both Peebles and Innerleithen are reknown for hosting art, music and biking festivals and Peebles just 3 miles up the road boasts its own theatre, a weekly market and an award-winning high street with restaurants, gift shops and art galleries. If visitors exhaust the many local attractions on offer, Edinburgh is just 25 miles to the North and easily accessible by car or by bus using the regular service from Cardrona Village Store
  • A lovely and comfortable self-catering flat, with an open fire, in a place of great natural beauty. Lucy and David were very helpful and we had a fantastic stay. Highly recommended

  • Lucy's place suited our needs perfectly. It's super clean, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen has all the crockery and utensils you could want. Even though it was snowing, the heaters and wood fire kept us cosy. It's a compact space best suited for one or two people but has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

    Sue2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy’s place was clean and beautiful. A very friendly, helpful host. We’ll be back! Carole & Alan N.

  • A wonderful apartment in the lovely Scottish Borders. The apartment has everything you need and is sparkling clean and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. It was a very warm place too. The whole apartment suited us down to the ground. It’s ideal for a couple and is in the perfect location for mountain biking at Glentress or Innerleithen. You can ride from the door. Lucy was an hospitable host and responds very quickly to emails and queries. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

  • Can not recommend this place highly enough. Lee Penn is such a cosy, warm, extremely well decorated and furnished place. Also the log burner is an extra special touch that was perfect to have when curled up on the sofa. Lucy and David are great hosts and are always on hand should you need their assistance or advice on the local area. Would definitely return to this property again.

    Jamie2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Lee Penn apartment is an ideal base from which to explore the area around Peebles and the Borders in general. The accommodation was well equipped, larger than expected and very warm (even without the log burner). The bathroom has underfloor heating which is a very pleasant extra. Lucy is very welcoming and provides loads of information on local attractions, walks and sporting activities. We had a very peaceful and comfortable stay in the apartment - really didn't want to leave!

    David2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • A really enjoyable stay. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and clean. It is located in the perfect location to ride to Glentress, Innerleithen and the Golfie and being a mountain bike guide Lucy was able to direct me to all the best trails.
