Roybal Ranch is a gated property that is just off of the main road, offering a quiet setting. Come relax in this cozy upstairs space in beautiful Northern New Mexico! Enjoy the mountains, enjoy the scenery! This area has plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, rafting, geocaching, camping, skiing and snowboarding and is just off of the famous High Road toTaos. We are located an hour away from Santa Fe and a scenic 30 minutes from Taos.
There are two bedrooms in this upstairs apartment along with a futon in the living room. Wifi, basic satellite tv, and some board games are provided. Please note there is no kitchen or cooking space, but there is a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig machine available. Upon arriving, you will find a small complimentary goody basket (keurig pods one per person per day, and a combo of candy, chips, granola bars, sodas, ect.)
There are no grocery stores in town. Taos would be the closest area (just to keep in mind if you want certain foods or snacks). We do have a Family Dollar store along with a locally owned general store as well as a few restaurants and gas stations in town. We live in a quiet part of town and a wonderful area for star gazing!
  • Great place! Perfect for what we needed. Would definitely stay again and hope to soon!

  • Awesome place and great host! Definitely a great place to stay!

  • The pictures don’t do this place justice. It is very well kept & the bedrooms are huge! A serene location with a quick 15-20 minute drive to Sipapu, is exactly what we wanted.

  • Thanks!

  • This place was wonderful, took a guys weekend trip to go skiing at Sipapu. We arrived right where it said it was. (Google Maps) It’s nice and spacious and when you walk in you feel right at home. There was nice touches like snacks and water, each room as it’s own Keurig, which is nice so early risers don’t disrupt others. I stayed in the bed adjacent to the bathroom, the bed was super comfortable and bedding was nice. This place was great will definitely be staying here again! Thanks Andrew and Justina!

  • By far one of the best AirBnBs I’ve ever stayed at. The communication and hospitality from the owners are five star.

    Jon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, very accessible to all the local ski resorts

    Dalton2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We used “The Ranch” for a ski trip to Sipapu and the whole family had a great time. Helpful tips like the local Sugar Nymphs restaurant were great (fantastic pizza) and great rates. My youngest loved feeding the cat and I loved the price.

  • Their house was an amazing place for a get away. They were very thoughtful and checked in after our late arrival and the place was very clean. Thank you!

    Jacob2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What you see is what you get, and MORE... but you'll have to experience it to believe it. Views that offer entirely new perspectives, charming touches/hidden gems throughout, and lovely hosts who are always available, yet only as present as you'd like them to be. Thank you for everything Jo and Agnes!! We can't wait to return. *Note to future guests: the fully equipped kitchen includes a small collection of craft coffee machines, but be sure BYOB (Bring Your Own Beans), or you're in for a rude awakening, literally!*

    Sarah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This home and the surrounding views are stunning! It was perfectly located, with an easy drive to ski resorts and other attractions. It was especially warm and cozy for the winter, but I imagine this place is amazing year round. Agnes and Joaquin are also incredibly kind and provide tons of helpful local tips. Highly recommend!!

    Leah2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Could not imagine a better place to stay for our trip. It was close to the ski resort without being on the mountain, and even closer to the town. Joaquin and Agnes were great hosts; we will be staying here again next time!

    Bryson2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent property, lovely hosts, fantastic all the way around. Definitely recommend staying here!

    Lisa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect beauty peace and incredible views of the sunrise and sunset through every window and the glass house is truly remarkable!!! Perfect!! We will be back

    Nadia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Star-filled night skies, a warm and sunny patio on a cold winter day, beautiful artwork, and a lovely bubble bath after a day of skiing. This place is everything it seems to be and more! Also highly recommend reading their Guide Book for first-timers to Taos - the restaurants and art galleries were all top notch. Will come back!!

    Emily2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Simply Stunning. This was one of the best AirBnB experiences we have had, and we have had a lot of amazing experiences. This home is incredible. The views do not quit. Every corner is thoughtfully curated. Unfortunately during our stay my husband got some bad altitude sickness and Joaquin and Agnes were absolute life savers. Quite literally. I am so deeply grateful for their king and thoughtful care. What to expect if you stay here: Jaw dropping views that become more magnificent every hour. Privacy and comfort in a very special home. An experience that will stay with you for many years to come. Hosts that are communicative , kind, and attentive when needed.

Meet Sandy. Raised on the open plains of Oklahoma, she is a Midwestern girl through and through. Due to her large stature, growing up she didn’t get to travel much and, like most Midwest beauts, she dreamed of California. Palm Springs to be exact. Laughing it up with the likes of Marilyn, Frank and Dean, sloshing down Mai Tais and working on her copper tan. Like all starlets-to-be, one day she reached her end, proclaimed “I’m a big girl with long lines and its time the world gets to love me!”, left the ranch and hit the road. With a happy heart and big dreams she crossed the country and took in all the sights, sounds and smells it had to offer. But, while crossing New Mexico, she fell in love. Enchanted, she made camp, and here the Spirit of Taos spoke to her. She knew she was entrapped. Life is about choices and sometimes it throws you an unexpected curve you never saw coming. As a gesture of kindness the guys brought a taste of Palm Springs to this fun-loving lady. Southern Cali meets the mountain life – maybe you can have it all! No, she never made it to that west coast party; she simply became the party and now the world comes to her. So come alone, come with friends, but come ready for a good time and let Sandy show you the way! Until you stay the night with her though she insists on being referred to as The Sands. A girl’s gotta have her standards.
  • Very cool area. Right next to a brewery. A short ride to lots of cafes, restaurants. Great budget friendly accommodations.

  • Thanks for a great stay! I loved my time in the sands. It was nice and warm and all the folks I met were great.

    Eric2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great! Amazing views and awesome location for a scenic approach the following morning to ski. Very cool space.

    John2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is the absolute cutest place ever! The location is amazing. You have an excellent view of them mountains, as well as every star in the sky. It was nice and cozy inside. You would have never known it was 20 degrees. The shower house....glorious! It's not that its fancy or anything, but they have really gone the extra mile making sure your shower is warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this place!

    Mallory2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and modern trailer converted into a hostel environment with 4 bunk beds. Unfortunately I was the only one in the hostel the night I was there (I would have enjoyed meeting someone else), but I really enjoyed my stay nonetheless. I loved the kitchen and dinning area, and very much enjoyed my morning coffee on the attached deck while watching the sun rise over the Taos mountains in the distance. The toilet is in the trailer but the shower is in a separate building, which wasn't a problem for me. Check-in, and general communication was a breeze. It is a bit of a drive outside of Taos, but all-round a very nice place to stay.

    Corey2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location next to Taos Mesa Brewing which has a stellar happy hour and good entertainment nightly. Cute retro trailer with a thoughtful remodel at a great price. Easy access to the Ski Valley so you can ski by day and hit the brewery by night. Classic Taos kind of place.

The Taos Cool Bus (Tilly) used to deliver ice cream treats all over Taos. She was a popular fixture among kids of all ages. Sadly, Tilly had to retire in 2013. It is with great joy then, that Tilly has "reincarnated" as a unique Airbnb rental. 100% off-grid, she is powered by solar and wood. She even has a portable flush toilet! Tilly's resting place boasts amazing sunset views and tons of tranquility for guests who want to have an authentic, off-grid, Taos hippy experience.
Tilly is an authentic, converted hippy bus. There is no electricity but she comes with a solar phone/laptop charger, solar-powered lights, an outdoor grill and charcoals for cooking. Inside there's a woodstove (with a hot water reservoir) for warmth and cooking. The "bathroom" is outside and consists of a private, enclosed, portable toilet and a solar shower (if you aren't familiar with a solar shower, please look it up so that you understand their limits). Your experience in the bus is more like camping than staying in a motel and we've priced it accordingly--less expensive than many campgrounds but with more privacy and amenities. Plus, there's no set-up to do, it's in a beautiful setting, is very cozy, and the sunsets and views are amazing!
Tilly is located within walking distance of a post office, the historic Ranchos Church and the historic Ranchos Plaza. Also within walking distance (1/2 mile) are the Ranchos Grill, Oh My Garden restaurant, Old Martina's Hall bar and restaurant and a few galleries.
  • This place is sooo cute. I will definitely be coming back. Perfect little spot to enjoy nature. The host Kelly is very attentive to your needs. Checking in and out was so simple.

    Jennifer2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The value for this unique experience can't be beat. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Tilly, as it had been unlike any other place I have stayed before. Tilly was exactly as I had expected and in a nice, quiet location. Thank you to Kelly for allowing me to add Tilly to my first New Mexico experience!

    Shane2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fun and funky place to stay! Nice views, very cozy and totally unique!

    Nancy2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! If you are looking for the hippie experience, Tilly the bus is the way to do it. Great location just t the south of Taos and the drive into town is absolutely gorgeous with the mountains in the backdrop. Kelly was great to provide us with everything that we could possibly need. Even setting us up with firewood in the wood stove in the bus. Thanks again!

    Angel2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The bus is a cozy spot for a night in Taos. A quick ride from historic downtown it’s the perfect place to sleep in the outdoors without camping. The fire pit was a great bonus! I even got dog and cat snuggles which is my fav! Kelly was very responsive. The bus has cots which were great. I used my bed roll on it and slept soundly. It’s a gorgeous spot to wake up and start your day!

    AmyLynn2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kelly & Teddy are super awesome folk with an awesome spot there just on the outskirts of town, it's absolutely, I will be staying there again next time thru!!- DASHDOWN

Experience the beauty and simplicity of off-grid living in our guest home, a geodesic dome that sits at the base of Tres Orejas mountain looking out over the vast, sage covered high mesa. Wake up to views of the sun rising over Sangre de Cristo mountains, the town of Taos, and the Rio Grande Gorge to the East. In the evening the sun sets over our mountain and the Buddhist temple behind our house. Amazing views of the Milky Way at night.
The space is a one room geodesic dome guest home. It is a peaceful, minimal space complete with a queen bed, a drinking water dispenser, propane heater, and two windows with amazing views. The dome has 12V solar electricity, so you will have lights and usb charging ports (for phones, etc), but you will not be able to plug in any other electronics. Let us know if you really need to charge a laptop or something, we have regular electricity in the main house. We do have solid wi-fi. The dome is situated near our larger dome house on a few acres in a quiet, off-the-beaten-path neighborhood of off-gridders. Our homes here run on rain catchement or well water, 100% solar electricity, satellite internet, and passive-solar, propane, or wood for heat. You won't see a powerline or slab of concrete for as far as the eye can see. We are a short walk from the Tres Orejas Chöten, a beautiful Buddhist stupa and temple. Walk the trails on our property - pinon, juniper, yarrow, and a sea of sage. Ravens, rabbits, coyotes, elk, and big horn sheep in the area. Some destinations: ~5 mi. to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge ~5 mi. to Earthship Biotecture campus ~10 mi. to Taos Mesa Brewing Venue/Brewery ~15 mi. to town of Taos ~15 mi. to Black Rock and Manby natural hot springs ~25 mi. to the Taos Ski Valley ~25 mi. to Ojo Caliente hot springs spa
  • Julie was a kind host the space was a lovely change of pace from the bustling city that I'm used to.

    Jonathan2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable little dome and a comfy bed! Beautiful view out the window, everything was clean and nice. Great directions - no problem getting out there.

    Kharis2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot out in the desert, beautiful views, Julie was very helpful and accommodating. Hope to come back here!

    Jeffrey2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was very accommodating and the dome was a lovely spot of sunshine on my trip!

    Katherine2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the dome was an awesome experience. I have never seen as many stars at night, nor beautiful and blue sky by day! I stayed here between days of skiing, and it was a quick and scenic 45 min drive to the ski area, with a unique and lovely town called Arroyo Seco and “downtown” Taos not too far away. The dome itself is cozy and private. This place is really wonderful and I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon it. The hosts are also amazingly kind people. You will not be disappointed!

    Madison2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place was so fun! Will definitely recommend to my friends and family. Unlike any experience I have had before!

    Rocio2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tiny lil geodesic dome in the middle of nowhere. Perfect

    Eric2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really unique space! The property is on dirt roads but isn't too hard to find and Julie's directions were great! Super cool space to spend the night. The propane heater worked very well and kept the place cozy although it can get a little noisy at night if it's cold outside.

Very quiet. Enjoy your coffee and/or cocktail on the portal enchanted by the scenery and the lush gardens. Minimal light pollution at night. Ideal spot for star watching in the hot tub. Easy to find on the south side of Taos, 2 blocks east of Paseo del Pueblo Sur, I block south of the Canon Bypass leading to Angel Fire. 3 minutes from Sagebrush Inn and 5 Star burgers, 5-10 minutes from Taos Inn and Taos Plaza, depending on traffic. 5 minutes north of the Ranchos church and Old Martina's Hall.
  • We stayed at John's place when all of this weird Covid-19 stuff started going down. We decided to cut our trip short since the ski valley closed down while we were there. John was incredibly understanding and kind during our whole experience. Aside from the Covid-19 situation, the house was just as described and having John around to chat with and to ask questions about local places to check out was super helpful. If anyone is worried about staying in a house with the host there, don't worry about it! John was incredibly considerate and accomodating. The hot tub was a huge plus as well!

    Rebecca2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was great to crash at (and even get some work done - I had to work remotely for a part of a day) for a stay in Taos. John is remarkably kind and a great host. Due to traffic coming down from Denver, I was a bit later than anticipated. He gave a great recommendation for where to eat in town and stayed up to show me around, which I was grateful for. John's place is a little south of center of town, about a 5-minute drive. It's nice and quiet though, which is great! Thanks John.

    Kate2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Centrally located, and oh that hot tub!! Very comfy bed too!

    Suzanne2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable place with lots of interesting books to check out. The hot tub was a nice plus after a long day of travel. Would definitely stay here again.

    Josh2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • John was a great host and the room was very comfortable. He also provided tons of recommendations.

    Noah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • There's really nothing to add to John's already stellar reviews. If you are okay with sharing a bathroom and kitchen, John's place will be great for you. On my stay of seven days, John was away on a trip for the first four days. Entry into his house was very easy. John is a great communicator and a very pleasant and easy-going host. I did not utilize (as so many others have) any of his knowledge of the area or recommendations for things to do, as I was just there to ski for a week so my dance card was full. The skiing at Taos is great and unique, if you haven't experienced it and if you are a proficient enough skier to enjoy it. Highly recommend the "Taos Ski Week," if you're going to Taos to ski--awesome experience!

    Mark2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • John has a very lovely spot in Taos, with beautiful views of the mountains and plains from the hot tub. We'll be back, it's just a matter of time!

    Wallace2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • John has been a great host. He has made me feel like home. It has been my first experience in Airbnb and it has been beyond awesome. I highly recommend John if you want to visit Taos or skiing at Taos Ski Valley.

  • Ah, so nice to hear the Embudo River and step right out onto the deck from the casita. Just 30 minutes from my new favorite restaurant in Penasco called Sugar Nymphs! Gary was a great host! We hope to return again when our time allows.

    Marla2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I knew I was going to like this space but I never imagined how magical it would be. From the interior homey feeling to the spectacular deck over looking the river and that hammock! A walk away to Vivac Winery and a great hiking road, I cannot wait to go back!

    Lisa2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Gary was such a pleasure to speak with and was extremely helpful in helping us find wonderful things to do locally. The house was in pristine condition and very pleasant to stay in. The sound of the river at night was one of the highlights of our stay! Along with Gary's homemade cookies! We would definitely return to the Riverside guest house.

    Jackie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cute house with all that you need for a nice stay. The view from the bed in the morning was amazing and the stars at night were great.

    Martin2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is awesome and being right on the river was so peaceful. Gary was so easy to communicate with and made sure everything was in order and went above and beyond making sure everyone was comfortable. He gave different options on directions in case we wanted to take the scenic route. (You should always take the scenic route!) Looking forward to visiting again!

    Wendy2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Gary is a sweetie. He left a personal touch that was really sweet for us to walk into later. He came over and helped us get the hot tub going when we had a problem. The river and view of the mountains is gorgeous and the hot tub is fantabulous (great showers too.) Rejuvenating to be in nature like that, my sweetie and I luved it.

  • All in all, this was a most enjoyable stay. I particularly appreciated Alice’s easy-going flexibility in accommodating my schedule, and her thoughtfulness in making coffee. This room is most appropriate for people who enjoy being around dogs and cats. That just made me feel more at home.

Adobe Mtn Retreat is a warm ,cozy home nestled in a small valley high in the Rocky Mountains of Northern New Mexico.Back yard perfect for picnic, campfire, setting up your tent, or relaxing in the hammocks beside the creek. 15 miles to Sipapu with the best ski pkgs. in NM. Just 47 miles to Santa Fe and 30 miles to Taos. Both have an abundance of world class art galleries, restaurants, night life and more. Yes, we warmly invite you to come and experience the allure of your vacation getaway. WiFi.
The back yard was the main attraction for us to Adobe Mountain Retreat. The grass surrounding the creek, the bridge where we sat and dangled our bare feet in the cold mountain stream above the cutthroat trout, imagining family gatherings around the campfire. The first step through the front door said “This is your home. Welcome”. During our 7 years here we’ve done a lot of remodeling. The wood stove mesmerizes, lighting and warming the hardwood floor. The coved log ceiling beams, called vigas, reflect centuries old architecture. The quiet speaks to reflection on today, yesterday, and tomorrow, on life and purpose. The dark looks back through milleniums of time and displays an eternity of celestial bodies (starry skies). Yes, we warmly invite you to come and experience the alluring appeal of your Vacation Retreat. The 1600 sq ft make for a spacious 2 bedroom house that is wheel chair friendly. All rooms are large. The cozy, comfy living room has the wood stove with plenty of firewood. TV’s, DVD’s, and VCR’s are in both the living room and Buffalo Room The Buffalo Room also serves as an extra sleeping area. It also allows for either individual program viewing or unified family viewing. A number of family friendly movies are on hand. An HDMI cable is available to connect your own personal device. Board games are in the entertainment center in the Buffalo Room. There’s also the opportunity for wildlife viewing from the Buffalo Room and dining room windows. Many times we’ve seen elk, coyote, and birds. Humming birds are a real attraction at the feeders outside the window. The cool summer nights, the thick adobe walls, and moderate daytime highs mean air conditioning is not necessary. However, there are 4 ceiling fans and a free standing fan if necessary. A special note: bedroom 2 (with a queen bed) is accessed through master bedroom (also with a queen bed). The Buffalo Room is on the other side of the house with a double hide-a-bed and 2 single beds. Absolutely no smoking is allowed in the house. Designated outside smoking areas are provided. Gas heat and wood stove. Plenty of firewood provided. Well stocked kitchen includes; coffee maker w/ coffee, Keurig, blender, crockpot, electric skillet, mixer, food processor, toaster, citrus juicer, cake and muffin pans cookie sheets, etc. refrigerator w/ ice maker.
Neighbors are descendants of Spanish conquistadors and for the most part are friendly but like their privacy. A Family Dollar Store, 2 mom and pop stores, and 3 gas stations will fill most of your needs. Sugar Nymph restaurant is chef owned and well known for it’s delicious home cooked meals.
  • Jim & MariLu went above and beyond to make us comfortable and help us out when we were dealing with a broken down vehicle. Their home was beautiful! We would love to stay again under more pleasant conditions on our end.

    Amee2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully quiet home off of the beaten path! Perfect place for a quiet getaway that is still close enough for a short drive to skiing or shopping.

    Sean2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mari Lu and Jim are extremely nice and helpful. They answered any questions we had in timely manner. The cabin was clean and cozy. We definitely would stay again. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us and felt right at home. All amenities we needed were available in the home. Also they make a mean salsa and guacamole. It was delicious! Highly recommend!!!

    Lindsay2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay! Awesome house and host! We will be back!

    Maggie2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying in this house. Jim&Mari Lu were both thoughtful and helpful with whatever we needed. They are willing to come out of their way to help even later in the evening times. The house was clean and spacious. Our kids loved staying here as well. They have a good variety of family games and movies to watch. We were able to enjoy the snow in their yard with their sleds they rented to us as well. I would highly recommned this place and will go again if we revisit this area!

    LeeAnna2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Mari Lu’s home was the perfect home base for our day trips to Sipapu. The home was spacious for our group of six and had all the amenities we could have asked for. The kitchen was fully stocked and the rooms had additional blankets for colder nights. Jim and Mari Lu were extremely helpful when we had car problems, and brought us delicious homemade salsa. I look forward to returning next year!

    Alex2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts Jim and Mari Lu were fantastic! They responded to questions quickly. Their home is large with plenty of beds and room for our party of 8 and 4 dogs. Large common areas and kitchen. ATTN: March reservations can be MUDDY. This camper is beautiful, romantic, retro-but-modern. The Taos air is clean, fresh, cool. The camper is set up at a private spot at our home about 12 miles (a 25-min. drive) east of Taos (toward Angel Fire). At 8,600 feet the winter can be strong, but the camper stays warm! The camper only has a TINY, TINY, TINY restroom. [NOTE: IN WINTER MONTHS running water IS UNAVAILABLE due to freezing temps (toilet works). But, the hot tub is available year-round!]
Camper includes full-sized bed, refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and sink. There is a USB jack for your music and charging your phone. Camper has forced air propane heat. No cell service is available at the site. WiFi is available. Bonus: There is a beautiful hot tub available for your use at our home next door. Available 6AM to 10PM.
Valle Escondido is a beautiful mountain residential area with a golf course and lots of on-site hiking in the Kit Carson National Forest.
  • Great space and location! Randy was great, super quick to respond and happy to help get my car unstuck from the snow. Would love to come back.

  • Cool camper up in the mountains. Randy is a good host with local knowledge

    Jeremy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Randy’s camper is a wonderful, cozy spot to stay if you’re spending some time in Taos. Randy himself is an exceptional host and goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay while also respecting the guest’s privacy. And on top of all that, his rates can’t be beat!

    Conor2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Randy was such a blessing to us on our trip! He immediately came out and introduced himself, and made sure that we got everything situated. He is loaded with local knowledge, and his recommendations were spot on! Most importantly, Randy and his family are as caring and friendly as they come. I managed to get my heavy truck STUCK stuck on his infamous driveway. He informed me that I now hold the record for being stuck the worst so far (for his sake, don't accept this as a challenge), but they went above and beyond (I feel like this is an understatement) to get me out. I will be forever grateful to his family for helping me out of a literal rough spot, and getting me back to enjoying our vacation. Our trip was amazing, and I have Randy to thank for making that happen. If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would! Go check out Randy's camper, and experience a blessing!

    Bob2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time hanging in the camper and hot tub. It was cold outside but it stayed nice and toasty inside! Randy was available whenever we needed. Thanks a bunch, Randy!

    Cara2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Hospitality, hospitality, hospitality. Randy went out of his way on more than one occasion to make my stay comfortable and smooth. He’s just a really kind person who seems to like hosting folks and ensuring their stay is great. Enjoying the hot tub as the snow came down at night was magical. A real steal of a place!

    Colin2020-02-13T00:00:00Z

Farmhouse Casita in scenic Llano San Juan 10 minutes off the High Road to Taos. Full kitchen and bath with washer dryer. Private fenced yard with garden, patio table and lounge chair. Fire pit with wood. Spectacular mountain views and 10 farm acres to roam. Pets are OK but only small dogs inside. (kennel and/or fenced yard available for bigger dogs or ones that shed profusely). Designated parking space and room for RVs. High speed Wifi is available. Pool table available on premises.
The Farmhouse Casita can sleep 4 ( one queen and a double sleeper sofa) An extra loft room in my house (queen mattress & twin bed) can be rented in case you need extra space. The Casita is part of an artist residence... art supplies are available upon request. We are in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end road so it is very quiet and peaceful with dark skies at night for star gazing. Our farm is next door to the old HogFarm commune (now an organic farm with taiji classes) and the Road Hog (a famous historical bus) is on our premises. Several friendly donkeys summer here. I pay a local woman a living wage to clean before and after each visit.
Peñasco (the nearest Village) has several art galleries, the Sugar Nymphs Bistro (an excellent eatery), the Peñasco Theatre, several gas stations and mechanic shops, two small grocery stores, a hardware store, and a Family Dollar. There are many churches available as well as a Family Health Clinic and Forest Service Office. Picuris Pueblo is located right down the road and visitors can visit. They have fishing ponds, and exercise room and a bison herd that is sometimes visible. Their annual feast day is August 10th. Santa Barbara campground is right up the road with a river for fishing, space to camp and hiking trails leading into the Pecos Wilderness. The High Road Art Tour takes place the last two weekends of September and is an excellent time to visit over 30 local artists in their studios.
  • We stayed for six weeks at Jean’s charming & cozy casita, while we searched for a permanent place to live in the area. The location was peaceful & scenic, helping us to feel like we were on holiday, while we explored and researched. Jean was so friendly and helpful to us during this whole experience, even inviting us over for her family Thanksgiving dinner. We will always remember our special time there!

The ambiance of the house was so peaceful. Our son and college roommates snowboard and hit the slopes at Sipapu everyday with great times! Highly recommend the little cafe Sugar Nymph in Peñasco right down the road from the house.

Our rustic little cabin is located in a small residential neighborhood 4.5 miles outside of the town of Taos (10-15 minute drive)--off the beaten track, but still on the outskirts of town. The cabin is a charming one room structure including a full bed and single (twin) sleep sofa, dining area, kitchenette, and full bathroom with stall shower. As a writer's or artist's retreat, you may be inspired by the sweeping mountain views, the light and the sheer magic of the area.
The cabin, a pebble's toss from our own small house, was originally a Ute Valley Park, Colorado, summer camp cabin, moved here about twenty-five years ago. Sunrises and sunsets are daily marvels, and at night the stars shine bright. The romance of the area has been enough to have inspired guests to elope while here or to become engaged! Visiting the nearby yet remote Ponce de Leon Hot Springs is a must. The hot springs are a 1.5 mile drive and then a short hike away. It is a peaceful, quiet, remarkably private outdoor place. Our guests have told us that this off the beaten track destination was the highlight of their trip to Taos (and it is a sacred place so remember to be respectful if you visit). There are biking, hiking and walking trails nearby, also within reasonable distance to the Ski Valley, the little mountain villages in the Picuris mountain range (the High Road to Santa Fe), and the Rio Grande. The beautiful San Francisco de Asis Church, an old and impressive adobe Mission building, is not to be missed, and it's just a mile down the road in the Ranchos Plaza, which has shops and restaurants, including our own Two Graces Plaza Gallery, full of art, books and curios of the Southwest. The town of Taos has museums, galleries, shops, and lots of great places to eat.
Llano Quemado is an old residential neighborhood outside of and to the south of Taos. We have big, wide-open views of the mountains all around. The Acequia Llano Quemado runs a few feet from the cabin on its way to water the fields of the community. The little farm right next door raises sheep and goats, and there are dogs, cats, chickens, and horses, too. Even Georgia O'Keeffe found found this neighborhood charming--she was a frequent overnight guest of one of our neighbors!
  • Had a wonderful and peaceful time!! Great getaway!

  • This little cabin was my personal heaven. It has such a warmth to it and I loved all the wood and unique decor! Holly and Robert could not have been sweeter (one of these lovely people scraped ice and snow off my car before I even woke up!), and I had a beautiful morning hike up to the hot springs among many other things. It was a gorgeous experience in a gorgeous place. If you’re seeking peace and beauty this place will be a salve for the soul.

  • The Sister Casita was everything we hoped for on our vacation to Taos. Authentic decor made for the ultimate New Mexico experience and the convenient location made exploring all the shops, restaurants, scenery and Taos Ski Valley very easy. Jessica was not only a phenomenal host, she helped us through our first experience with AirBnB, quickly replied to all messages, and went above and beyond to assist us late at night. I’ve traveled the world and there are very few places like Taos, you’ll love it here.

  • We loved staying at the Casita!! We came to Taos to ski as a last minute trip. We are so delighted that we got to stay here! Check in was a breeze, Jessica was very informative. She was always quick to answer any questions I had, and even checked on us to see how we were enjoying our stay! The casita has everything we needed, I like to cook so I was very happy that she had a well stocked kitchen! The casita was clean and tidy, and also decorated very nicely! The location was great, everything was close! Plenty of great restaurants nearby ( our favorite was Orlando’s) and there was a organic healthy grocery store right across the street. We didn’t get to see any of the Taos local attractions but they were all fairly close. The drive to the ski resort was only about 25-30 min. Would highly recommend staying at Jessica’s casita! Can’t wait to stay here again next ski season! Thank you Jessica for sharing your beautiful home with us!

  • Very charming, super clean, great location, reasonable price, dog friendly, friendly host, couldn't have asked for anything more. Hope to be coming back this summer!

    Hilary2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Sister Casita is a cute, one bedroom located within a duplex. The walls are quite thin, and we could hear the other side of the duplex's conversation early in the morning. However, other than that, the space is perfect, and Jessica is extremely timely with communications. The check-in is simple, and the casita has its own private space. The location is great - near The Love Apple, and we also walked to coffee at The Spot.

    Katie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for our short stay in Taos. It was very clean, cozy, and charming! The bed was very comfortable and the hosts were just amazing with super quick response time and lots of info on things to do and places to see. The Casita is close to everything in town and only 15 miles to the ski area, which was a bonus for us. The kitchen is well equipped with pretty much everything you'd need for a short or long term stay and we loved the beautiful bathroom. We didn't want to leave, but it's time to get back to work :). We will definitely be staying here again!

Walk to the Taos Plaza, boutique shops, local breweries, restaurants, galleries & historic museums. Catch the free shuttle to Taos Ski Valley a few streets away. Our newly-renovated 318 sq. ft. casita-style studio features a kiva fireplace, 10-foot ceilings with traditional viga beams, comfortable bed and beautiful kitchen space. It is adorned with turquoise accents and artwork from local and international artists. Wi-Fi and cable TV allow you to stay connected and enjoy a relaxing evening watching your favorite TV channels. Casita Turquoise is the culmination of a vision we began to develop in the mid-2010s as our careers took us to many special places in the world, including Taos. Casita Turquoise is an homage to our various peregrinations across the globe. The artistic maps above the bed are of cities in which we lived in the U.S., Canada and Haiti, and some of the elements of the décor, such as the bedside rugs, are handwoven products made by skilled artisans of Ethiopia, where our careers took us in 2017. We are so happy to welcome you into this space and share a bit of our journey with you.
Casita Turquoise is located just 2 blocks from the Historic District in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood. It boasts beautifully landscaped grounds with cottonwood and juniper trees. The unit comes with one free parking spot and additional public parking is just one block away.
  • Walking distance to town. This room is about the size of a hotel room but adds the benefit of a stove. Easy access with a keypad lock. I might suggest bringing your own pillow if you prefer a firm pillow. Great for a quick ski trip!

  • Comfortable, cozy, and luxurious! We loved our stay. The perfect place to stay while attending a wedding at El Monte Sagrado.

    Maggie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Well-located in the heart of downtown Taos, I highly recommend a stay here. It was welcoming, clean, and well-maintained with all the amenities one could hope for (including the most comfortable bed ever) in a cozy, romantic, getaway.

    Karl2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely little place. Cozy and comfortable.

    Shannon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was perfect! The place was the perfect launching pad for both exploring town and skiing at Taos. The ski area is only 30 minutes driving and town is walking distance. We were able to explore the plaza and hit up some museums without driving, which is always an added bonus. The place is super cozy and stylish and the perfect size for 2 people. Loved being able to have a fire!

  • Great location! Super cute cottage!!!

    Sue2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is such a lovely and cozy space. It has so many special touches, including the traditional kiva fireplace, the fully-equipped and colorful kitchen, the beautiful exposed-wood beam ceiling, and the wonderfully comfortable bed. And on top of that, the location truly can’t be beat. I walked & wandered all thru the historic district every day I was there, grabbing coffee down the street, dipping into countless art galleries and finding so much amazing food within a couple blocks. I also snowboarded one day and the resort was an easy and scenic 20 minutes away. Hugo was very friendly with his messages and thorough with his check-in process, as well as with their guestbook, which has some great restaurant tips. I really hope to come back soon!

    Dylan2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is beautifully decorated and makes for a cozy stay for one or two people. Check-in is a breeze with Hugo and Jessica providing detailed information you need to make yourself at home. The location is also great - easy walking distance to a number of restaurants, bars, and galleries. Highly recommend.

Tucked behind the Dixon Plaza, and situated directly above the Acequia de la Plaza, the Long House is one of the true gems in Dixon. Built in the 1700s and lovingly renovated in the 1990s, the Long House offers a unique and historic experience in the heart of Dixon. Centrally located off the Dixon Plaza, you'll be a five minute walk to the Coop, library, post office, and Zuly's Cafe. It's a great place to relax and enjoy Dixon and as a home base to venture and explore northern NM.
3/28/20 Update: Due to covid 19, orders given for people to stay home and my concern for my family and the communities of northern New Mexico, I have made some temporary changes. Since access to testing is a challenge and the symptoms can mimic the flu, if you or anyone in your party are sick in any way prior to your arrival date or, if you are traveling from a known hot spot of covid 19, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible. I've also removed the Instant Book option so that I have the option to connect with you prior to accepting a reservation. I increased the minimum stay to 5 days with a day blocked out on either side of each reservation, and I've also blocked out the rest of April. The extra day will allow for the additional cleaning and disinfecting that is recommended in between guests. Guests should still reach out to the caretakers prior to their arrival date, but face to face interactions with the guests will be kept to a minimum and phone calls and texts with the caretakers should be used. Since the washer and dryer are in the caretakers' living space, I've removed access to it to protect their them. I hope that you understand the intention to keep you and everyone safe during these unprecedented times, and hopefully soon, things will return to normal! While some businesses have temporarily closed, the Coop and Sugar Nymphs have remained open and are offering pick up and curb side options so you can get what you need. Call ahead to any of the places nearby to find out if they're open and their hours of operation. **** Having recently traveled to Europe and Canada, and having stayed in airbnb listed apartments managed by hosts who manage many properties with minimally equipped kitchens with sparse furnishings, I realized that the airbnb experience of being a guest in someone's home is becoming less common. The Long House was my mom's house, where my family and I have gathered since the early 90's. I built the Addition on the back of the Long House where she painted and practiced her photography and entertained friends and family from the area and all over the world. In that spirit, I have opened up my family home to the airbnb community. I am proud to let you know that this is my home and I live here too! The art and the furnishings and the kitchen (without a microwave!) are the way that I want it because I return each year with my family for extended stays. I work on the house and the property so that you too can enjoy being in this special place! New for 2019, I'm super excited to share that I laid flagstone on the back patio! I bought 4 tons of Colorado red flagstone from my friend Mark Saxe at Southwest Stoneworks, just up the road in Rinconada, and worked on leveling the ground and installing the flagstone. I've wanted to lay flagstone on the back patio for a very long time and I'm so happy that I had the time this year to get it done. In 2017, I replaced the kitchen countertops with granite and an undermount sink and new pulldown faucet, added a great, new sectional couch with lots of pillows and other new furniture, more lighting and floor coverings, and a new refrigerator to make the Long House even more comfortable and inviting! Check out the photos to see the new countertop, sectional couch and comfy chair in the living room, and all new photos of the rest of the house. Time spent at the Long House is the kind of quality time that we so rarely get elsewhere. The thick, adobe walls help to keep the house quiet and cool in the summer and warm in the winter. As there is rarely any traffic by the house, you will be amazed at how quiet it is. This summer, we awoke to the sounds of the Rio Embudo as there is still snow runoff rushing down the valley. The acequias are full, and the sounds of the wind and the rain and the thunder greeted us every day. The front porch is a great place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and to greet the neighbors on their morning walk. The back porch is my favorite spot as the house is perched above the acequia and the lower fields that run to the river. The expansive view of the Dixon valley and the hills beyond is an inspiration. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always a treat on the back patio table. The beauty of being in Dixon is that time seems to move more slowly. A walk up to the Co-op for some food or a little bit farther to La Chiripada Winery to get a bottle of wine for dinner is enough to break up a perfect day spent enjoying time being at home. Our neighbor's dog, Romeo, loves to make the rounds in the evening and will often stop by to say hello! He's super friendly and loves a good scratch by his tail. He's getting older now, and unfortunately is no longer able to control his bowels, so keep an eye out for him and his droppings! Named after its construction, the Long House was built by adding one room at a time from east to west in the 1700s. As the original family expanded and grew, another room was added next to the last room built. Room to room access used to be through doors that opened to the exterior, as there were no doors between rooms until much later. You’ll find that each room still has a door that opens to the exterior (except the bathroom), although the yoga room’s old exterior door now opens into the sunroom, which I added in the 1990s. Unique and lovingly renovated, the Long House encompasses 1800 square feet of living space and boasts traditional vigas with split cedar and rough cut, plank ceilings, 2.5’ thick adobe walls with traditional mud plaster on the exterior, and diamond point plaster on the interior walls. The secluded back porch area offers a wonderful setting for meals and a gorgeous view of the Dixon valley and Rio Embudo, while the front porch offers a wonderful view of the sunsets. As someone who loves to cook, the full kitchen has everything you'll need, including a new natural gas stove with oven, coffee grinder and maker, toaster oven, blender, frig/freezer and all the cooking utensils and pans you’ll need to enjoy a home cooked meal. A microwave you will not find, though. The master bedroom has a king size, Sleep Number bed, with a new, gel foam mattress topper, a wood stove to take off the chill, and private access to the back porch. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, private access to the front porch, and connects directly to the yoga/meditation room (with yoga mats included) and the adobe sunroom added onto the front side of the yoga room. The entire house is heated with radiant and baseboard heat, and each room has its own thermostat (except for the sunroom). The bathroom features a clawfoot bath tub for long, slow baths and modified for showers too. If you need to do laundry, the washer/dryer are located in the Addition, where my caretakers live. Just coordinate with the Gabrielle or Noel and they'll give you access to the laundry.
Early November each year, the Dixon Studio Tour features the renowned, local Embudo valley artists and their work. Visit their studios, talk to the artists and see their work from the past year. It's an exceptional opportunity to go places in the area that are only available during this weekend, and to purchase art directly from the artists. November in Dixon is not to be missed! The website has the listing of the artists and a map to their studios and a preview of what you'll find. Use your favorite search engine to check out the Dixon Studio Tour (for some unknown reason, airbnb won't let me show you the website address) According to my neighbor down the lane who teaches archeology at Barnard College and spends his summers in Dixon, the Dixon Plaza was the prior location of the Picuris Pueblo. Old pottery shards can be found on the lanes and pathways as you walk. And if you have the pleasure of visiting in the summer, be sure to check out the farmer's market each Wednesday starting around 3:30 pm in front of the Coop in June, July, August and into the fall!
  • This place is amazing, So unique! We loved staying here! It feels like a home away from home. I definitely recommend you come and stay. It was great to have a yoga room and a beautiful view outside the back porch. Thank you we will be back!

    Brian2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This stay exceeded expectations. David and the caretaker were very communicative before my arrival. The drive to get there is STUNNING. As soon as I pulled up, I got excited because the view off the back porch is incredible! I quickly ran inside and was greeted by gentle, welcoming music. The house is darling. The bedrooms are spacious. There’s plenty of room to stretch out and get comfy in the living spaces, and I cooked a bunch in the kitchen. Lots of cooking utensils, pots, pans, and slices were available. The little town of Dixon was secluded enough to make my stay feel like a getaway but close enough to Taos and Santa Fe that I could have day trip adventures. I heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful stay in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.

    Courtney2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful New Mexico stylings abound in this house. Noel, a young man who works is part of David’s family came to check on us shortly after we had checked in, and he told us the 200 - year old history of it. Despite having been added onto twice over that period, the kitchen is modern and very equipped. We had everything we needed to cook meals on a high - end gas range. Communication with David and Noel was top - notch. I would definitely stay again here!

    Brian2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house with such character you can’t help but be thankful at such decor provided by a woman with true taste

    Skyler2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous spot, we enjoyed this trip so much we starting thinking about when we could return! The house was clean, there were items in the kitchen which were helpful, the hosts were amazing, and we loved the feel of the place!

  • Wonderful peaceful retreat. Would love to come back

    Conor2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing home, what a privilege it was to stay here in this wonderful community. Great place to stay. We had snow on our second morning but that just served to make it even more magical. Go..you will not regret it.

    Craig2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great and comfy place to stay in the countryside of Northern New Mexico. Great location to get to skiing, wine and other outdoor activities. The historic house is obviously loved and cared for, the colors inside are so peaceful. It was a cold weekend, but the radiant in floor heating was a treat after skiing. A well stocked and appointed kitchen made cooking while away from home a breeze.

This little cabin is nestled in the pines with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The roads are a little rough, but this will only assure you a quite and peaceful retreat away from crowded campgrounds and congested resort areas. If you are interested in hiking or exploring, this is the perfect place, or you can simply relax and enjoy some quite solitude on the mountain. Contact host during inclement weather to check on the roads
The cabin is off grid, We do have a few solar lights and a lantern for your convenience and there is an outhouse in the back. The cabin is situated in a beautiful meadow with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. There is a wood stove to take the chill away on those cool evenings. There is no running water in the cabin, but we provide adequate water for dishes and drinking. There is plenty of water available on the property.. The small kitchen is set up with a propane stovetop, a sink and all the dishes you need for cooking a good meal. Outside you will find a fire pit to sit and enjoy the stars and roast marshmallows or make s'mores. There is an abundance of firewood to take away the chill on a cold night or barbeque outside. The cabin sits on a ranch known as Los Vallecitos. We raise grass-fed beef and lamb that is certified through AWA and market produce seasonally. Our meats and produce are available for purchase if you notify us in advance. Please keep in mind, this cabin is secluded which means it is a good drive off of the interstate. The entrance to the property is 3.5 miles up and county road and another 2 miles on a mountain road. This is a perfect spot for getting away, cell service is spotty, depending on who your provider is. Verizon seems to get the best service. On the property you will find a pond, river frontage and lots of hiking opportunities. We are a short drive to the Santa Fe National Forest for longer hikes.
We are close to the Santa Fe National Forest and the Pecos wilderness is not far if you are looking for hiking adventures. We also have a couple of locals who offer trail rides into the Santa Fe National Forest. But you need to book in advance. If you want to enjoy some of the local flavor, you can visit the Victory Ranch where they raise alpacas, The Mora Valley Spinning Mill where you can watch how worsted yarns are produced, purchase their yarns / drink a cup of coffee. Mora also has several restaurants, but we do not have a grocery store, so make sure you bring your food supplies.
  • This is a very comfortable cabin that offers great privacy in a very beautiful setting. It has everything needed except for running water, but some water containers are provided. We greatly enjoyed strolling around the property with our kids and dogs.

    Miguel2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The property was exactly as listed. We completely enjoyed the quiet, solitude and beauty of the mountains each and every day. We were able to take daily hikes (averaged between 2.5 & 3.25 miles per day). Our dog (Great Pyrenese/Pit Mix) absolutely loved it too. We let her have free reign of the meadow and never had any issues with other animals or the ranch dogs. The daily temps for us were between low 30's and high 50's, but the stove in the cabin gives off plenty of heat for some of the cold evenings. Each night, we have plenty of light from the solar-powered battery, and never lost power. We did bring a small generator to charge our electronics (watches to track our hikes and tablets for reading). Even though our phones stayed in Extended 3G (Verizon), we had no data, texting was spotty at times, but had no issues calling. As everyone else has stated, you definitely need a 4x4 to navigate the road. We had to deal with snow, ice, and mud on the way up and down. I'm definitely planning to come back for future sabbaticals.

    James2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot for an off grid adventure. You can’t beat the views and stars. As others have commented, the road is no joke, that first hill is a steep mountain road. My tundra 4x4 did well. Carla is a great host, place was clean and she is quick to respond to all needs.

    Tracey2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • My dogs and I had the greatest evening getaway! Carla was very responsive, and checked in on me to be sure I arrived ok! It is definitely set back on a windy road, but once you get there it is well worth it! Hope to come back again!

    Montana2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • There is too many good things to say about the place. The view is amazing and full of amazing small additions. Highly recommend a visit.

    Ashlee2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous rural property perfect for escaping your busy life to enjoy peace in nature. Carla was a lovely host and made sure we arrived and left safely and that we had everything we needed. She employs locals who work on the property and they were also just the kindest souls. The tiny house has just what you need and is simple in the best way. Our dog Nelly had a blast running around and so did our new puppy (he was a sweet surprise that we found on the way up). The stars were amazing and nothing beats fresh crisp air. Road is definitely rough. The leftover snow made the roads wet and VERY muddy. We were in a big jeep so it was no issue but I would not recommend driving anything without a bit of clearance and four wheel drive. We are already looking at our calendar for our next adventure back up to the tiny house! Thank you Carla!

    Olivia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fun stay here. Super remote with great views. The road going up to the cabin is no joke. Our wimpy city car got stuck in the snow before even making it to the first gate! Be sure to arrange a lift up to and from the cabin with Carla ahead of time.

    Hunter2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Complete peace and quite in a secluded little off-the-grid cabin with some breathe taking views.. no neighbors no anybody. What more could you ask for.

Gorgeous mountain views and all of the comforts of home greet you in this beautiful 1954 Silver Dome travel trailer located just minutes from town and the area's outdoor and culinary attractions. Enjoy a full bedroom, bathroom (with new plumbing finally!), kitchen and living room with a mid-century aesthetic and inviting fenced yard.
Bright sunshine streams through the many windows of this rare mid century coach and provide stunning views of the mountains in nearly every direction. Sunrise, sunset and the starry nights are unencumbered by city lights, and you can enjoy the show from the coziness of the trailer or from the huge fenced yard. The trailer itself boasts many amazing original features, along with updated plumbing and electrical systems, a stove, microwave and refrigerator and a darling turquoise bathroom with a tub and shower. The bedroom features a full sized bed with a brand new mattress, lots of cozy linens, a built-in vanity, and of course those gorgeous windows to the stars. The sofa in the living rooms pulls out into another full sized bed if you need additional sleeping space. Heat is provided by two radiant heaters and the original crank windows can be opened to let in the fresh mountain air. All outlets work and wireless internet is available 24/7. Step out the door and enjoy a deck and fire pit in a large, fully fenced yard shared with my own home (a pristine 1957 Spartan Imperial Villa mobile home). This is a great place to spend a night or two in the tranquility of the mountain, under the New Mexico stars. We are all about respecting the space and our neighbors on the hill by keeping the noise down and limiting access only to those on the reservation. You'll find this makes for a wonderful evening for all! Whether you've been trailer park dreamin' and want to try the vintage trailer life on for size or are just looking for a unique, comfy home away from home in Taos, you've found it!
The trailer is located off Lower Los Colonias Road in El Prado, just 5 miles from the intersection with Highway 64. From that intersection (known by locals as the blinking light), it's just a few minutes to the Taos Mesa Brewery and the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge to the west and a few minutes to historic Arroyo Seco and the Taos Ski Valley the other direction. The Taos plaza with its abundance of art, culture and culinary delights is just 12 minutes away, and there are plenty of shopping and eating opportunities in between.
  • Amy’s place is adorable, I fell in love with all of the thoughtful details. Would definitely recommend!

  • What a delightful stay we had in the 1954 Silver Dome Travel Trailer! Amy’s warm hospitality, artful touches around the trailer and cozy climes made for a joyous stay. We can’t wait to return and awake to the sweet snorts of Queen Maxine :)

    Camille2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had so much at Amy's place! Beautiful space with lots of thoughtful touches. Gorgeous views, but also close to restaurants, etc. Fun fire pits!

    Ann2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool place! Amy has it decorated very chic and it truly is a vintage trailer. The yard has plenty of deck space and fire pits for hanging out. My stop was quick since we had to get on the road the next day, so it would be great to come back with a group and even utilize both trailers on the property. For the night, it was comfy, cozy and warm! Thanks, Amy!

  • This boho trailer is brilliant and cozy! Amy left plenty of notes and local recommendations. The bed was comfortable. The outdoor fireplace is the perfect gem along with adorable and cozy chairs. Will be coming back!

  • 100% plan on booking this spot again next year. Such a stellar place to stay.

    Amanda-Jo2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s trailer was everything we expected and more!! It had everything we needed for our one night stay, plus tons of wonderful tips and recommendations for the area. The view was spectacular. The decor was warm and welcoming with every detail considered. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Taos.

    Christina2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amy, and this trailer, were the absolute BEST. We feel very lucky to have had the chance to experience Taos with the help of Amy. We were there mainly for skiing, but ended up spending a decent amount of time in the town! Only about 30 minutes from Taos Ski Valley, and 15 or so from town - it was in a lovely location. And her furry friends are wonderful! Between the 5 dogs and her piggy, Maxine, you will have loads of cuddles. 10/10 recommend, we’ll absolutely be back - hopefully soon!

Escape to the natural beauty of the Embudo River Valley in this private, quiet casita on a 5+ acre property in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Located in the village of Dixon, this is the perfect jumping off point for ski trips to Taos, Sipapu, and Sante Fe, for snowshoeing or cross country skiing, or visits to Ghost Ranch and Ojo Caliente. Visit local wineries and the majestic Rio Grande del Norte National Monument. Enjoy long mornings and evenings relaxing by the fire.
Bosque Cottage is our beautiful property which includes the main house, a small art studio, a tiny house, a garden, and the casita. The property is on the Embudo River and the bosque (forest) that lines the river. The approximately 900 square foot, straw bale casita is bermed into a hillside approximately 50 yards (150 feet) from the main house and is situated for maximum privacy. When inside, the thick, straw bale insulated walls add to the quiet and keep the space cool in summer and warm in winter. The space has a mini split air conditioner for those hot summer days. In the winter the casita is warmed with radiant in-floor heating, the mini split heater, and a wood stove fireplace. The artist owned and decorated space features a modern aesthetic with rustic touches, a rotating collection of small-scale works of contemporary art, and a beautifully designed patio with sunset views of the surrounding hills and mesas. The patio has a chiminea fire pit, a charcoal grill, shade, seating, and lighting. The shade is removed in winter to let in more sunshine. Off of the patio is a short trail that leads to an arroyo which can be explored by guests. One bundle of firewood and firestarter are provided for the chiminea and/or wood stove. Additional firewood (with firestarter) can be purchased for $5.00 per bundle. The kitchen is stocked with organic olive oil, organic cooking oil, coffee, coffee filters, sugar, salt, pepper, and some other basic spices. We also provide basic cookware, dishes, utensils, a coffee maker, and an ice maker. There is a stackable washer/dryer in the kitchen with eco-friendly laundry detergent. Note that the washer is appropriate for light loads only. The television streams Netflix, Hulu, and Hulu Live, which provides many cable and local channels. Guests can also play music using the Pandora app on the television. In the bathroom we provide Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Stairs lead off the living room to the loft bedroom with a queen sized bed. Downstairs in the living room, a chair folds out to a comfortable twin bed (this is the “sofa bed”).
Dixon is a small, agricultural community famous for its orchards. The community is very diverse and peaceful. The Sipapu Ski Resort, a favorite of locals, is just 30 minutes away. About the same distance are areas good for sledding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. The casita is just 25 minutes from Taos and 45 minutes from Santa Fe, and all of the cultural attractions these cities have to offer. Drive 20 minutes in another direction and you will be high in the Sangre de Cristo mountains where opportunities for hiking, fishing, and enjoying nature abound. About one mile from the casita is the Dixon Co-op Market, a small but well-stocked grocery store and deli. The village has a restaurant, Zuly’s, which has excellent New Mexican food and a patio. There are three wineries very nearby, one within walking distance. Access to the Rio Grande National Monument (a.k.a., “the gorge”) is approximately 10 miles from Bosque Cottage and not to be missed.
  • This is a real jewel of a rental, and Dixon is an ideal location to explore the entire northern NM landscape. We spent most of our time journeying around to different spots... rivers, gorges, hot springs, towns, hikes, and just driving around the high road to Santa Fe. The casita is newish construction, but with many items that retain a "colonial era" feel -- massive wooden doors, adobe-stlye construction, wood burning stove, etc. The heating system, convenience of the kitchen, bath, and seating are modern and very comfortable. The quality and effort into the design of the space is evident, and very appreciated. It was especially good to have household recycling, as we've been carrying items from place to place while on a long trip ... and now finally able to unload them to be recycled. We would revisit here anytime we were coming to the area. Great value, great location.

  • Rachel and Bart are wonderful hosts. Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay on a beautiful property.

    alex2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean and welcoming. Good location for skiing at Sipapu with an easy 20-30 minute drive in good road conditions. The house feels spacious even with a small footprint and sitting in front of the wood burning fireplace is a great way to unwind after a long day.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a dream. This land and space is what life should be for us all. It is a perfect place for rest and recharge. So peaceful. The design is very thoughtful and welcoming. We really enjoyed playing the boardgames that were in the house as well. Will return!

  • This home is beautiful, from it's antique floor-to-ceiling doors to it's beautiful cottonwood shaded location. You will not be disappointed.

    Jessica2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This casita is absolutely adorable and inspiring. The setting is amazing, the attention to detail superb and it's one of the best short term rental properties I've stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot! Hope to stay in the tiny house on the property next time!

    Tracy2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy space. Love that firewood was provided. A great touch. The minimalist and relaxing aesthetic was wonderful. Gorgeous bathroom. Comfortable couch. We appreciated the radiant heat floors, washer and dryer and simple guidebook to the workings of the house.

    Jordan2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is hands down the most impressive Airbnb I have ever stayed in. The casita itself is taste fully decorated and has all the small creature comforts you could want, down to the cooking supplies in the kitchen and soaps in the bathroom. The bedroom loft is pleasantly warm, even in the dead of winter, and the property surrounding the home is stunning. It feels like you can see every star in the sky from the back porch. Rachel and Bart were excellent hosts and provided very clear instructions on how to find the home; they also offered local tips on where to eat. I am extremely happy with how our stay in Dixon went and I would love to return for a longer stay sometime soon.

Scenic simplicity in beautiful Taos, New Mexico. Our recently converted garage-to-studio apartment features stunning views of the Taos Valley and Pueblo Peak in a private yet convenient setting. The studio's location on the south side of town is a minute away from Holy Cross Hospital, and serves as an excellent jumping off point for Taos Ski Valley (40 min.), Angel Fire (40 min.), and Sipapu Ski And Summer Resort (30 min.). Explore nearby Taos Plaza and Taos Pueblo for unique art and culture.
Understated without being rustic, this simple studio space has everything you need for a nice vacation in Northern New Mexico. Please be aware that the studio has a kitchenette. There is a refrigerator, two burner hot plate, toaster, griddle and microwave.
The southern part of Taos is one of the areas where the locals live, with quick access to downtown, the hospital, dining options and more.
  • Super cute and cozy studio that's very conveniently located to Taos and not too far from the Taos Ski Valley. The bed was comfy and everything was spotless. The host was responsive and provided great driving directions, since Google maps isn't accurate to find the location. Great worth for the cost! I would definitely recommend this place for people wanting to visit Taos or ski nearby, and also wanting a reasonable price for 1 or 2 people.

    Eleni2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Place is just as described, clean, warm and beautiful! sweet space.

    Suni2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place! Was super easy to check in and check out. Can be hard to find but host provided great directions for it. Nice area to go ski Taos!

    Alexander2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay because of the location right off main road in Taos and an easy drive to Taos ski resort. The room is very nice and clean.

    Elizabeth2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot! The host is close and takes great care of the property. Great privacy and seclusion but also very close to town.

    Trevor2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was nice but the host was rude. I just spent my honeymoon, and husband's birthday, and Valentine's day and when we left she started making excuses to charge us more saying that she needed to charge us extra money for cleaning fees because her rug and towels got dirty which is ridiculous to us, if she doesn't want a rug to get dirty then why to put it there in the first place especially such a light colored rug. It seems she failed to provide enough cleaning supplies deliberately just to charge more, because there was no mop (well knowing that there is no road only mud). Also, There were faulty electrical plugs, If you wanna make coffee or toast bread you have to find a plug that actually works which is not even at the kitchen itself. All this after having such a happy feeling that we spent our special time together, we ended up being extremely disappointed of the bad reviews and feedback from the host and unexpected remarks. She failed to provide house rules and said to us that we had to use "common sense". I advice you future guests, take off your shoes before you enter the house if you don't want the same thing to happen to you.

    Amanda2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! The instructions for arrival we're very helpful and the place had everything we needed. Definitely a little colder than expected inside, but was comfortable for sleeping! Perfect jumping off point to explore the town or go ski!

  • I enjoyed my stay with Robert! He was a wonderful host and make sure we had everything we needed. The place was very clean and had a beautiful view!

    Haley2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The sunset was amazing from the view of the porch! Worth it for that alone!

    Alicia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly lovely and warm oasis

    Jane2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place is conveniently located close to Taos plaza and not far from Taos Ski Valley. Though it was chilly and rainy outside, the unit was warm and there were plenty of blankets. Although I didn't personally meet Robert, he called me around check-in time to make sure I understood how to get into the unit and to ask if I had any questions about getting around Taos.

    Rhea2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as advertised, great location every point of interest in Taos is less than 15 minutes away. On the final day we had limited hot water (which wasn't an issue) However Robert offered to cover a day at the local spa for us to freshen up. Overall 10/10 experience and look forward to coming back.

  • Beautiful cozy Adobe in Taos. We stayed in the coldest time of winter and even with the heat it’s a little chilly waking up in the morning but it’s just part of the Adobe way :) would absolutely stay again. Appreciated the beautiful view and close proximity to town.

A girl’s gotta have her standards
  • I'll definitely be back. Compared to a lot of other home airbnbs this is the cleanest and most enjoyable so far. Great location and there were even fireworks!

  • What a wonderful little gem of a place! If you have a car and are looking to explore Taos (and not break the budget with lodging), then look no further! I LOVED my time at the Sands Hostel. The bed was very comfortable and the inside of the airstream was AWESOME, not to mention very clean! I enjoyed interacting with the other guests who were all incredibly respectful of one another. Can't wait to come back!

Experience authentic Northern New Mexico living (with all the comforts of home) in your own 380 square foot adobe suite with private entrance. Enjoy authentic log Viga ceiling, Spanish tile floors, and a classic wood stove. If you feel like company, open the side door to Vera’s lovely home and she will make it feel like your own. Art and artistic vibrations fill every room. Wander the three acres that border National Park Land. Experience the true land of enchantment!
My charming adobe sits beautifully in the Ojo Sarco Valley, a great small community along the Scenic High Road. We are located roughly half way between Taos and Santa Fe, with skiing in all directions! Pets allowed! I'm a retired teacher from the area and would love to welcome you to my home! It's a beautiful spot tucked away in the valley off the main road where it's amazingly quite (except for the occasional cow). I'll make sure there's plenty of wood for your stove to accommodate for any temperature changes. I also want to offer to cook breakfast for guests, anything from my neighbor’s fresh eggs to vegan options, as it is about a 12 mile round trip drive to the nearest restaurant. I can accommodate food allergies.
Beautiful sunsets and sunrises and the peacefulness of being surrounded by NM beauty!
  • Our stay was wonderful. The hospitality was way above expectations. Will stay again!!

    Sara2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cute adobe suite has beautiful sunrises and the night sky stargazing is spectacular. The bed was very comfortable and there were extra pillows available for us to use. The wood burning stove did a great job heating the suite up. Cozy and comfy! We loved the breakfast (especially the pancakes) that Vera made for us. She even let my brother (new to the Ojo Sarco community) come for the pancakes breakfast. Loved her hospitality!!

  • Vera's place was just right for me and my enormous GS pup. He played happily with her dog(s) and loved being adjacent to the Nat Forest where we took long snowy hikes. I especially appreciated Vera making me welcome when I showed up a day early (my confusion). Highly recommend this place.

    Nancy2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Vera's place is welcoming and warm. Vera was king enough to make breakfast every morning we stayed at her place. Best pancakes from scratch I have had in a very long time. :-)

It is also in a great location! It is relatively close to town and restaurants (we were able to walk to the distillery). It is also an easy commute to the ski resort. Perfect spot to get the full experience of Taos.

  • Our stay at Ravenrock Studio was even better than I expected. We contacted Wendy about staying at her home super last minute, and she worked us in no problem. The casita is beautiful, with stylish (and comfy) furnishings, and super cute personal touches. But as wonderful as the house itself is, the land around you and the Mountain View are even better, and I’ve never seen so many stars so clearly. I very highly recommend Wendy’s casita, and I can’t wait to come back when it’s warm out!

  • Ravenrocks is a wonderful, charming respite. The location is an easy drive from Taos Ski Valley and other area destinations. It has all the expected amenities, but Wendy’s thoughtful touches make this a special place.

A girl’s gotta have her standards

  • The location of this place is outstanding. Even though its a bit outsite of Taos the views are spectacular and totally worth it, not to mention the strategic location of the brewery right next door out in the middle of nowhere. The place was charming and clean, will very likely stay here again next time I’m in Taos.

  • Amazing lil spot, about 10-15 minutes away from taos Pueblo and the square. Thank you!

  • I will definitely be back. The space was very clean, cost efficient, and had a great location. Staying in an old camper was great, and I loved waking up to the mountains in the distance.

Set 10 minutes outside of town, this amazingly well-preserved mid-century beauty offers all of the comforts of home in just over 400 carefully designed square feet. Constructed in 1957 by the Spartan Aircraft company, this trailer was meant to be the epitome of modern luxury, with many windows offering expansive views of the mountains and a front row seat to the dramatic weather and sky that make northern New Mexico so enchanting. A huge fenced yard with multiple decks is also yours to enjoy!
Bright sunshine streams through the many windows of this rare mid century home and provide stunning views of the mountains in nearly every direction. Sunrise, sunset and the starry nights are unencumbered by city lights, and you can enjoy the show from the coziness of the trailer or from the huge fenced yard. The trailer itself boasts many amazing original features, along with updated plumbing (including an on-demand hot water heater that allows for an endless supply of hot water) and electrical systems, a stove, microwave and refrigerator and a full bathroom with a standard sized tub and shower. The bedroom features a queen sized bed with a brand new mattress, lots of cozy linens, a built-in vanity, and of course those gorgeous windows to the stars. The sofa in the second bedroom / movie room pulls out into another full sized bed. Heat is provided by a propane furnace which keeps the trailer nice and toasty in the winter and will soon be converted to also provide central air conditioning. And of course, the original crank windows can be opened to let in the fresh mountain air. All outlets work and wireless internet is available 24/7. Step out the door and enjoy a deck and fire pit in a large, fully fenced yard shared with two other fabulous vintage trailers, the yellow Silver Dome seen in the photos and a soon-to-arrive 1964 Barth travel trailer.

    David2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time staying at Amy's place. We were able to experience staying in a vintage trailer. The place was close enough to Taos but far enough to get some quite at the end of the day. Amy was wonderful and very helpful with the directions to her place. She was also very respectful of our privacy. We would definetly come back sometime to stay.

    Nora2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Booking Amy's trailer was a whim. We new we'd be on Taos so we decided to try it. Best decision ever! The trailer is wonderful. Perfect accommodations. The views are amazing, as is the star gazing. Amy and Simon were wonderful hosts. Generous of time and spirit. This was just a perfect get away.

  • Amy is a wonderful host. This spot is close to the Gorge Bridge, Taos Mesa Brewing, Taos Pueblo, and the town itself. My girlfriend and I spent 1 night and it was not enough. Next time we will make sure we have time to spend sitting on the deck by the fire watching the sun set over the mountains. The views are amazing. Thanks Amy!!!!

Great location if you want to visit Taos, Bandelier National Monument and Native American Pueblos and a short pretty drive to Santa Fe.

  • Jody's East Casita is so cute and comfortable! We came in January but stayed warm the whole time- the place is well heated and insulated! Jody's property is lovely and the location is quiet, but close to the Chimayo attractions. Jody was an accommodating and friendly host. The WiFi signal was weak and inconsistent but other than that expect a comfortable and scenic stay!

    Joe2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • My best friend and I are on a road trip through NM and stayed in the East Casita for 2 nights. Communication with our host was clear and detailed and check in was easy. We loved the many windows in both the room and the bathroom, the radiator that kept us plenty warm, lots of extra blankets, stargazing from our own porch, the beauty of our environment, and saying hello to the kitties, dogs, beetles, spiders, birds and morning walks around the ranch. Great home base to explore the area and surrounding hiking trails. Our host kindly welcomed us to use the fire pit next to the West Casita and provided us with wood and marshmallows - a perfect way to ring in the new year. I would not hesitate to stay here again and grateful to our host for having us.

    Elise2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay.

    Erin2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special rural space for a getaway near Santa Fe, Los Alamos and other nearby attractions. Everything is as pictured. Easy in and out. Very private. We didn't hear our neighbors in the adjacent casita at all. You will probably want a cooler with ice. The hostess supplied coffee and toiletries and ultrasoft towels. Definitely try to arrive before dark. It is on an unlit narrow road but it is easy to find using host's directions. It is rural and there are mosquitoes, you might want some repellent so you can sit on the porch and enjoy the sunset. P. S. Don't miss Rancho de Chimayo restaurant!

  • Beautiful place!

    Amy2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, great gardens! Close to town. Jody is very nice I am not just saying that cause we have the same name!

    Jody2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect! We did not have time to meet Jody. The communication was super. She gave us great tips. The cottage is super comfortable and everything was top clean - we would go back anytime.

    Davide2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jody has a fantastic place to call home during your stay. The casita was clean and cozy and the beds were super comfortable. The advice to get there the first time before dark is good because it is tucked away on a little side road, but once you get there, you will have no problems finding your way around. Also, a good tip that really helped us was to download Google Maps for the area so that you can use them offline. The cell service can be a bit spotty, but that is an easy fix. The casita had great wifi which allowed us to stream shows on our iPads to watch before bed. The patio on the back deck was super sweet and a relaxing haven especially on cool mornings. The provided coffee maker and k-cups were so nice:) Jody kindly offered us to use an ice box, but we brought along our own small cooler which worked great for us. We brought back a fresh bag of ice after our daily adventures and it kept our wine chilled, creamer for our coffee, and some yogurt for breakfast. We especially enjoyed the pets including a variety of very friendly cats and three small dogs. We also saw a very large bullfrog on our front porch one morning! He probably lives in the adorable pond just up from the casita. The property is large with lots of apple trees and a couple of apricot trees and plenty of room to walk around and explore. Although you cannot see the mountains from the house, the drive to and from provides gorgeous vistas and breathtaking views. We also enjoyed eating more than once at the Rancho de Chimayo restaurant which is just a stone's throw from the casita. The food was outstanding and the service was great even when we had no reservation. Jody's place is a steal for the price and is the perfect getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will remember Rancho Manzana if we come to Santa Fe in the future.
