Augill Castle : much better than a hotel : unlike anywhere you have ever stayed before. In Cumbria's Eden Valley between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, England's two most popular national parks, Augill is set in it's own twenty acres of grounds. Easy going, relaxed but still ridiculously romantic and decadently comfortable. We'll do everything we can to make you feel as if you have arrived as guests, and will leave as friends.
The ORANGERY is on the ground floor outside the main castle, with huge arched gothic windows opening onto your own secluded garden and the castle gardens beyond. There is a modern open top four poster bed, stunning bronze wall and fabulous contemporary bathroom, and a connecting day room has a French style metal day bed which opens as two full sized singles. Requests can be made for a particular room but we reserve the ability to move you between these rooms to accommodate other guests.
Augill Castle sits in the geographical centre of the British Isles in the stunning countryside of the Eden Valley. Sitting at the foot of the Pennines and surrounded by the Lakeland Fells and Yorkshire Dales, the castle has 15 acres of wild gardens, lawns, paddocks and flower beds. It is the ultimate English gentleman's retreat. Built as a folly by an eccentric man, the castle is a fine essay in Victorian castle building.
  • Absolutely beautiful both inside and out! The staff was superb as was the food, accommodations, and experience!!! Without a doubt we would stay here again, next time for longer!!!

  • Just fantastic. Peaceful location, fantastic accommodation, friendly hosts, brilliant atmosphere. Great touches all over the house - and a very welcome attitude to 'explore' and discover. Hats, swords, pictures, blankets, games, a cinema (!) and loads more. Highly recommended!

  • Great place, a real castle experience. Food was excelent and best part is everyone’s hospitability. Highly recommended!!

    Sergio2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • I’d like to recommend to anyone who is looking for castle-living. That is amazing stay and my kids love it very much. The little one can play at the toy room for a whole day. The castle is close to the Lake District. It is totally fine if you want to go and back at the same day. There is some miss understanding when we booked the room. Wendy give us two beds with a reasonable price, which is really nice. We will surely come and visit next time.

    Fan2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • It was an absolutely fantastic experience staying at Augill Castle and we will definitely come back. Everything was spot on and the food was excellent! The rooms and the exterior are even nicer than in the pictures. We highly recommend this accommodation.

    Patrick2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Augill Castle is truly special. The history of the place, the way Simon and Wendy have restored it, and the way they run it today were all exceptional. I loved the informal nature of our stay--it really feels like you're with family when you're at Augill. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone traveling to the Lake District. And the rooms (and linens!) are incredible to boot.

  • With all that is going on in the world right now it was lovely to escape to the mill to celebrate our anniversary. We spent the majority of our time in the mill, but the surroundings were beautiful to go for a walk. Clare was an amazing host and responded to us straight away to help with starting the fire. The little touches and attention to detail were just perfect and I'd definitely recommend the mill for some time away. Thank you Clare, Lilia and Ellie xx

    Lilia2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Clare’s place as a very last minute escape following the cancellation of our trip to Berlin because of the ongoing Coronavirus situation. We wanted somewhere rural and private as a kind of ‘escape’ from the current situation... and what an escape it was... The location was amazing.... lovely views of the countryside and wildlife... to wake up to chickens and ducks playing in the pond opposite the mill was very cute......you can stay in the mill and see no one if you like, or drive 5 minutes into a lovely quaint town...perfect. The mill is simply stunning....no other words; beautifully finished and furnished... an absolute testament to Clare who project managed the mill’s restoration.. It was spotlessly & professionally cleaned before our arrival, the bath was amazing and the bed ridiculously comfortable. Clare was very generous & kind. The ‘perfect host’. Communication was excellent and all the extra touches on arrival ( I won’t ruin the surprise) made us feel special & welcome. If you don’t stay here, you really are missing out!! In this current climate of uncertainty and anxiety, this is really the perfect escape. We’d love to stay again in the future. Thank you Clare

  • Absolutely stunning accommodation, we will be back!

  • Clare is a lovely host and really made us feel at home in the mill! It is a beautiful property and well worth a visit.

  • We had a really amazing stay at the windmill. It’s such a unique building and really nicely done inside. We really enjoyed sitting out on the staging to watch the sunrise, despite the single figure temperatures. Claire is an excellent host! She was really helpful - lending us some bits to clean up our walking boots after encountering a huge bog on our afternoon walk. Highly recommend a visit and we’d definitely be keen to stay again.

    Suzy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A really special, well designed space. We couldn’t be happier that it rained the whole time as it meant we got to spend the whole stay in the windmill! Thanks

    Steve2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing Windmill and what an amazing location! Clare was also so kind - and even gave us some fresh rhubarb from her garden. She was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of tips for the area. Would recommend this place 150 percent!

  • The most perfect place for a relaxing break away! So unique & quaint, with the most heavenly bedding! Clare is a great host.... we can’t wait to come and visit again! X

Oak panelled walls, wooden window shutters, and warm parquet floors surround you. Choose from hundreds of books and read in a secret bed box behind floor-to-ceiling shelves. Family portraits and heirlooms happily coexist with works of modern art.
Romantic and stylish apartment, It's the perfect base from which to explore Edinburgh from. I've already had some great people come and stay, so I welcome you to my home. Edinburgh castle is a short walk away from the apartment, and the National Gallery, St Giles Cathedral, National Museum of Scotland are all close by. My apartment is on the fourth floor of an 18th Century tenement with views on to the historic Royal Mile. With all mod cons and a unique location, this is the perfect apartment to have as a base while you explore Edinburgh. The apartment retains the unique character of the Old Town with oak panelled walls and parquet flooring, mixed with family portraits, antiques and works of art, but also all the modern comforts of a home. It is on the fourth floor and is reached by a spiral staircase (76 steps in all!) For our American cousins that's a walkup :-) There is no elevator. The apartment is South facing and full of light by day. The hall has a cupboard to hang clothes/store shoes etc. There is also an ironing board/iron and a hair dryer kept here as well. The bathroom has a bath and a shower, there is always hot water and plenty of towels for you to have. Then through the main door off the hall, is the open plan living space. Five full height original Georgian sash windows face you as you walk into the space. Floor to ceiling book cases and a large period fireplace with French empire over-mantle mirror. There is free wifi throughout the apartment, also a big collection of fiction/history/cookery/poetry/art/design books to while away the time with and I have a music/radio player with an eclectic choice of C.Ds. Plus cards and board games. A large kitchen space with character and all the modern cons - toaster, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, kettle, induction hob etc. However I don't own a microwave. There is a washing machine and there is washing liquid capsules for it under the sink, just put one of these inside the washing machine drum and close the door and turn to what ever setting you want. I do not have a dryer (it's not that typical here in Scotland/Europe) what I do have is a clothes horses which you can hang your clothes on. Their kept folded up in the hall cupboard. I hate staying in apartments on holiday where there aren't even any basics to cook with like salt and olive oil, so the kitchen is stocked with all the usual larder fare to help yourself to if you're cooking in. Plus coffee and all sorts of teas. I also have an honesty bar if you want to finish off with a drink or two after a long day of walking around town. By the windows is the generous dining space with oak dinning table and six chairs. The bed is a unique 'bedbox chamber' made from architectural salvaged fitted Scottish 18th/19th century carved oak. A floor to ceiling hidden panelled door lets you into this cosy space with reading lights on the headboard and it is fitted out with a British king size mattress - width 150cm and length 200cm, white cotton sheets, pillows and duvet. Mary Queen of Scots would feel quite at home sleeping in it! The living room area of the apartment is tucked at the West side of the room and has two good size sofas, reading lamps and is perfect to socialize in and also have quiet time with a good book. I hope to hear from you. I'm more than happy to answer any questions or give advice about Edinburgh/restaurants/bars etc All the best Calim
Edinburgh is beautiful and historic. This apartment is in the oldest part of the city, close to the castle. Museums, restaurants, and good coffee shops are really close by, as are the train station and airport links.
  • Amazing place, unbeatable location and Calim is a very caring and friendly person, I really highly recommend the place.

  • Calims home was a lovely place to relax and unwind with everything you could need. Communication was great and the property was very clean and tidy.

    Megan2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Calim is an exceptionally thoughtful host! I was especially impressed with the great communication throughout the process. You will not regret choosing to book with him.

    Charity2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • !! very nice !!

    Ryan2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was a dream! I had everything I needed and Calim was super friendly and helpful. The highlight of my stay had to be those windows and the glooorious morning light - especially when the light shone through the chandelier and the room was filled with baby rainbows! I felt so comfortable here and would stay again in a heartbeat.

    Emily2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful few days stay at Calim's place; it truly felt like a home from home. Centrally located, comfortable, beautifully decorated with small touches and kindnesses that really lifted this above your average rental. His recommendations for places to visit, eat and drink, or just take in the atmosphere helped make sure that my first trip to Edinburgh definitely won't be my last.

  • Tess’s place was beautiful and full of light. It was an easy Tube ride to many destinations in London. Tess was very responsive to questions and made our stay comfortable.

    Charyl2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice apartment with a lovely garden, well equipped, 25 minutes from downtown. Two double beds. Trains pass behind the fence but noise do not disturb when sleeping. I recommend.

    Arturo2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is clean, comfortable and relaxing.Tess is really supportive and kind.I strongly recommend this flat. Tess kindly taught me how to use a washing machine, which is difficult for foreigners to understand. The room is bright in any weather. The view of the garden is the best and it is quiet without the sound of the car. There was also a cute squirrel. I sometimes see the train, but I don't mind the sound. The train kid was happy.

    Yukiko2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful place to stay as our first rental of three during our London/Paris trip with my 3 kids and my mom. Tess set the bar high with great amenities, clean place and quick responses. It felt really homey and although it rained one of the days, we enjoyed the backyard view and the sunny sunroom where we had breakfast and snacks after our daily tourist excursions into the city. The neighborhood was quiet with a fruit/vegetable stand at the end of the street where we dropped by to get fresh fruits each day. There's other markets and eateries nearby. Location was great because we wanted a place a little bit away from touristy places to rest. Loved that we were able to do some laundry too.

    Doran2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great accommodation as expected. Tess always responded quickly, the kitchen and living room were enough to enjoy, and the best was the room with the yard. The three children in my house loved this space and enjoyed it every day. When you go down into the space below the ring, you may feel a bit disappointed at first due to the existing entrance, but you will soon be amazed by the wonderful space you enter and meet. Although not in the heart of London, Kil Translation and Queens Park Station are accessible. We often used Tesco near Kil Translation.

  • This is a beautifully presented ground floor flat close to 3 underground stations. It is light and airy and has its own garden. My family stayed here for 3 nights and even though there was a major water leak from the flat above (completely unrelated to this lovely flat), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tess has provided extra, thoughtful touches like local restaurant tips, soaps and shampoos, coffee pods, and a genuinely fully kitted out kitchen. Tess was very contactable throughout our stay and even came back early from her holiday to clean up for us after the water leak. Very highly recommended place to stay!

    Catherine2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay experience is our ideal holiday home. Traveling during the day and returning to the lush green yard in the evening to enjoy the coolness is the most relaxing time of the day. The kitchen and bathroom are very easy to use, and the two bedrooms are also very comfortable to sleep. Thanks again for the enthusiasm and sincerity of the landlord

    2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tess was a great host who was very accommodating and quick to respond to all of our queries. The apartment was conveniently located for our visit and the garden was a nice amenity to have in the city. Certainly would recommend to others.

  • I am at a loss of words! Tessa’s home is an artist’s sanctuary- so inspiring, so much to see, it was hard to leave and explore all that London has to offer. That being said, when we did leave, everything was so close! Camden is honestly one of the best neighborhoods in London, and the location of this Airbnb is perfect. Tessa provides a thorough list of the best eats, shoppes, and visits of the city giving an authentic and well rounded experience of London. I just wish I had more time to spend both in the Airbnb and the city itself, but I suppose that just means I will have to come back soon and stay at this very spot!👌🏼❤️

  • What you can expect from staying with Tessa is a beautiful, comfortable home with a easy walk from the Camden Road Tube station and a variety of fun things to do while you are there! The flat is decorated top to bottom with interesting art and books and faces a garden back lot with Georgian buildings. A nice sized kitchen to have tea in and you might see a few Magpies out the window in the morning!

  • Excellent location as apartment a 7 minute walk from Camden station so superbly placed to see all of London. A wonderfully quirky alice in wonderland style apartment with surprises in all the nooks and crannies - seashells, a dolls house, fabulous hats.. Also enjoyed browsing the eclectic book collection ranging from Dostoevsky to Alexander McQueen. Bed was comfortable and apartment was cosy despite me visiting in February cold. Kitchen very well equipped with all the cooking utensils you could need. Check in and communication with host extremely easy and efficient. Great value stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

  • Vicky's communication is superb, so you're not left wondering for days if your requests can be met. The accommodation is both well appointed and convenient to Zone 1 London, with the tube being a short walk away. Breakfast was a lovely added bonus for us, as was the easy and secure check in process. I would thoroughly recommend Vicky's place as a perfect location from which to explore London.

  • Staying at Vicky's house was wonderfu! Her precious advices gave us the chance to visit London in a new way! The house is super clean, beedroom is very sunny and breakfast is delicious. Vicky is very friendly, as a member of your family! The neighborhood is relaxed and green, Margravine Cemetery is something special, full of flowers and animals. Another valuable point about our stay was the self check-in, that gave us the chance to organize our trip to the best. We do hope to come back and visit Vicky very soon!

  • Night paddle boarding was so much fun! It was a really unique experience being able to see the city’s lights and the triana bridge from the water. Guillermo was our host for this experience. He was very friendly and made us laugh a lot. It was like being with a friend :) he was also an excellent instructor and made first time paddle boarders feel comfortable. I definitely recommend this experience.

Rewind. Recharge. Unplug. Picturesque lakeside lodges nestled in the Welsh countryside. Wake up to panoramic views overlooking the lake, enjoy some breakfast on the decking watching the feeding fish or letting the world go by before setting about your day, its the perfect spot for fishing, walking, cycling, sightseeing or shopping! After after a hectic day retire to the hot tub for some R & R and watch the sun go down! Only 15 mins from City Centre, Cardiff Bay
Great for couples looking to relax and explore, great walks, pubs, cycle paths and local attractions
We are based in the welsh countryside surrounded by arable farmland, there are stunning walks, rides and we're just 10-15mins from cardiff citty centre. Within walking distance is the Cefn Mably Arms a lovely country pub and the Maenllwyd Inn a cracking gastro pub
  • The lodge on the lake is ideal for a couples getaway. We had enough space to store our luggage, and the pull out bed was easy to use and a great use of space. The hot tub is fantastic and we spent most of the weekend bubbling away. Even when it was colder at night outside it was still worth the short dash to the hot tub! The wifi was excellent and meant we could use netflix with ease. There is a handbook which tells you how to use everything and includes some local activities. We would happily stay here again!

    Sam2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Owen's place was great - the hot tub was a particular highlight, even in the windy weather of Storm Ciara!

  • Quiet little hut with hot tub by a small lake with beautiful view - perfect for relaxation! Recommended!

    Max2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had such a lovely long weekend here! Needed a relaxing break to escape the real world for a little bit and this was the perfect place. Hot tub was great and the cooking facilities were perfect, cooked some steak which we brought from the farm shop which is 2 minutes up the road! No oven but not an issue to us! Remote area which is ideal! We have no complaints whatsoever. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

    Becky2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin on the lake is wonderful setting, off the beaten track but not feeling remote. Excellent wi-fi, hot tub was amazing and my only negative was that there is no oven!

    Samantha2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lodge on the lake was very peaceful just what you need for a relaxing getaway. The cabin was very clean and to our expectations. It had all the cooking facilities you need to cook with. There is a small cooker/hob and a microwave. The shop is a little pricey so do a small shop before hand. Would definatley recommend staying here and I'm sure well be back.

    Toni2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Whatever you think to expect from this pod, it will impress you - great facilities, great location, and you'll have a great long weekend, whether you just want to stay cosy to read/write/indulge in beautiful quiet surroundings, or pootle into Caerphilly or Cardiff to explore the castles and other delights of this area of Wales. Genuinely couldn't have had a better weekend and would heartily recommend this place to anyone.

    Lee2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a ‘has to be seen to be believed’ holiday, cleaner than you’d expect, the hot tub was bubbling away invitingly on arrival and the scenery is breathtaking, without a doubt one of the most relaxing weekends we have had. Highly recommended

***We are monitoring the Covid-19 situation and hope to open more dates soon*** Stay in a 20m2 geodesic dome in a secluded location in rural Northumberland. With a wood fired hot tub, fire pit, and deck with beautiful views of the pond and surrounding trees, it's a perfect spot to relax, unwind and get back to nature. The site is completely off grid - water in containers, solar power, and composting toilet. We believe this makes the site special, offering a unique back-to-basics experience.
Our ethos is to provide a simple but comfortable, tranquil space to 'unplug' from the modern world, with a minimal impact on the surrounding nature so that it can be enjoyed. Please read our description fully before booking to ensure that our dome and site is perfect for you. Satori dome is located on a working farm alongside a large pond. Spend your time watching wild ducks and swans through the panoramic bay window, or explore North Northumeberland before heading back to your site for a soak in the outdoor Japanese soaking tub, whilst star gazing from the deck. Our dome is set up for 2 people with a double bed and Eve© memory foam mattress (bedding is provided.) LED battery fairy lights and lanterns provide mood lighting inside and outside the dome at night, and logs are provided for the wood burning stove and fire to keep you cosy when it is cold outside. Outside on the deck is a gas BBQ for cooking and inside there is a worktop and sink set up for prepping simple meals and washing up dishes (plates, cutlery and utensils provided.) A camp stove and kettle is also provided if you wish to boil water for teas and coffee. A leisure battery powers a small 24 Litre electric cool box to keep food items cool. The battery also has a USB port to charge your devices. Our simple off-grid sink is setup with a 25 litre container of fresh spring water and hand pump tap for washing up. Your outdoor hot tub will be filled with fresh spring water for your arrival. It can be used 2-3 times and takes 2-4 hours to heat up (depending on the weather/season), and will usually stay warm overnight. Please note that in keeping with our ethos of having a low impact on the surrounding nature, soaps are NOT allowed to be used in the tub because of the harm they could cause to the aquatic life of the pond when the tub is drained. We do not (yet) have a shower at the dome, for most people this is not a problem as the hot tub water is clean and does not contain any chemicals, and makes you feel fresh afterwards. The Eco friendly composting toilet is set back from the dome. Whilst it is basic, please be assured that it is both clean and civilised :)
The site is rural (no postcode and the closest neighbours are sheep), but is not far from a main road with easy access to the market towns Wooler (10 mins), Alnwick (20 mins) and Berwick-upon-Tweed (30 mins), as well as the stunning coast (40 mins). There are plenty of local pubs and shops within an approximate 10 minute drive. The location is great for those seeking to explore Chillingham Castle, The Cheviot hills, Ingram Valley, Bamburgh Beach and many other spectacular locations.
  • Go for it! Love what has been created here x

    Alexandra2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely couple of days here! It was easy to find with the directions given, the dome was super clean and we had the most relaxing couple of days. Would highly recommend Hugh & Liz's place and we would love to come back in the summer.

    Jemma2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this stay for my partner's 30th birthday weekend and I can honestly say it did not disappoint. From start to finish the entire stay was perfect. The directions were so simple to follow, the drive alone was so scenic and beautiful. When we arrived we were amazed at how secluded the pod was and how peaceful and calming the environment was. The entire place was immaculate and had amazing touches such as mood lighting, playing cards etc. More than enough logs for the tub stove, log burner and campfire. Tub was absolutely incredible after a long day out. I would 1000% book up to stop here again. Thank you so much for having us.

  • Really lovely place to stay- bigger in person as well. Would recommend

    Kayleigh2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Wow! Wow! This place does everything you think it would do and more. My wife and I spent 3 nights in the Dome and it felt like we had gone away for weeks! Hugh and Liz have a Gem of a location. The dome is so well situated and equipped that it is so easy to relax and enjoy the nature around you! The sounds of nature are like a sleeping drug for the soul. We did a day trip to Edinburgh which was as little as an hour and a half away, I mean hello... I recommend this place big time for people who just want things to slow down a little and get refreshed. Thank you for your great hospitality Hugh and Liz!

    Corbin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Complete isolation and a great view of the lake. Wood burning fire for inside and for the hot tub - plenty of logs provided. The bed is comfortable and the utilities do a basic job well. If you're into this sort of thing, this is just right.

    Ben2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Simply a wonderful experience, so peaceful and relaxing. The dome and its location are stunning, even in the middle of February! Using the hot tub under the blackest starry sky I’ve ever seen was blissful. I was worried about the toilet, but it was clean and very hygienic. It took us mire like 5 hours to heat up the tub, but only because we were being a little too cautious. Definitely leave the ash pan open a little on the hot tub stove to get the fire roaring and I’m sure it could be done in 3 hours. We left the curtains open to watch for shooting stars; just wonderful. We will stay there again in the summer or autumn to experience better weather, but this did not detract from a wonderful break.

    Michelle2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place to get away and switch off from everything, loved all the extra touches and the setting of the dome is amazing. To be able to sit in a hot tub and star gaze on a cold February night was brilliant ☺️

Embrace the quirky, cosy interiors in this romantic getaway. Open the doors to the terrace, and let the sounds of nature waft through the lodge. Fire up the BBQ, enjoy a good meal and then spend the evening in the hot tub gazing up at the stars.
Located in one of Maidstone in Kent's oldest roads, neighbouring buildings used to provide accommodation to pilgrims on their travels to Canterbury in medieval times. Perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all and for those looking for something different, the quirky interior of the Lodge is an eclectic mix of vintage and modern. It offers a romantic hideaway, with exclusive use of the brand new hot tub jacuzzi directly outside your door, and a low height mezzanine sleeping area on a futon mattress, in the double height roof where you can star watch in bed, listening to the local owls. The fully equipped, open plan kitchen/lounge area is cosy in the winter with underfloor heating, and equally delightful in the summer when the bi-fold doors can be opened up to enjoy BBQ's on the deck. With Wifi access, Bose mini sound system, Nespresso coffee pod machine and a flat screen TV, you can also keep in touch with the outside world if you really want to. The Lodge is perfectly located for those who want a car free holiday in the corner of our 1.5 acre garden, about 60m from the main house. Please note that while the Lodge is completely private the hot tub area is not, as you are in the garden shared with our house. A short walk will take you to the ancient village green of Bearsted with its Butcher / Deli / Bakery and a choice of excellent restaurants. For those wishing to take the train, the village station provides services to the coast or to London, to give you transport choices. 5 minutes by car will get you to the award winning Leeds castle, while a 40-60 minutes drive will take you to the many beautiful historic towns of Kent including Tenterden, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells, as well as the beautiful Kent coast line and the EuroTunnel. Perfectly located for weddings and celebrations at the award winning Orangery in Maidstone, why not make a holiday out of your stay? Subject to availability The Lodge can be booked in conjunction with it's sister property 'Knocklofty', a one minutes walk away and can accommodate up to 4 people.
Embrace country life in the medieval village of Bearsted in Kent—the Garden of England. Walk to the village green for great gastro pubs, a butcher, and a deli. For a proper hike, there's beautiful countryside with miles of scenic walks.
  • We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay at Barbara & Mike's lodge. The lodge is amazing and in a beautiful setting in the countryside. The hot tub is an brilliant added extra. Barbara & Mike are very considerate and welcoming. All of this has made this stay the best one yet!

  • We had a great weekend at The Lodge - Lovely location and The Lodge itself was very cosy and well laid out (we loved the underfloor heating in the cold weather!). Also enjoyed the hot tub !

  • Great location, beautiful log cabin and wonderful woods just outside the doors of the cabin. The hot tub was brilliant too. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, thank you.

  • We Stayed in Woodpecker Lodge and have had a fantastic stay. Keith and Serena are lovely hostswith lots of local information. The lodge was perfect....there is a Woodpecker which you can hear and you may be lucky to see the Deer if you wander the pathways. There is an onsite store and a nearby Superstore for all needs. The hot tub sets it all off, it was ready for use when we got there and is great to get in at night with some Bubbly.

  • Well what can I say about woodpecker lodge? Absolutely amazing! We wanted a quiet and relaxing weekend to de stress and this log cabin was exactly the perfect place! The cabin was stylish and comfy. The kitchen well equipped for all needs and the log burner was amazing on the cold nights. We loved the hot tub with multi function and lights and even enjoyed it during stormy weather with torrential rain which made it even more special! Keith and his wife were awesome hosts and totally went above and beyond for us when we had a flat tyre! These guys are truly awesome and we will be recommending this place to our friends and family!

    Stuart2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time at Woodpecker Lodge! The location is beautiful, private and so peaceful. The hot tub (an absolute favourite) and the wood burner made our stay extra special. Our great hosts responded quickly and couldn’t do enough to help. As a group we would absolutely recommend Woodpecker Lodge and we fully intend on returning for a longer stay in the future! :)

    Jo2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful log cabin set among the forest. Best thing about it was sitting in the hot tub with the star spattered sky above you, listening to the sounds of the wild like an owl and its chicks. You don’t get to hear or see much of that in the city! The cabin was spotless, the log burner a cosy touch and the kitchen was well stocked with every utensil, pan etc. you could possibly need. Perfect little break away and I would recommend to anyone!

    Sarah2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Woodpecker Lodge is perfect! It’s clean and has everything you could possibly need. It’s in a secluded location and therefore you have your privacy. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

    Hannah2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really cosy and romantic cabin with plenty of space. We stayed in woodpecker lodge with a hot tub for three nights. For our first night we only had one neighbour but thankfully the hot tub is mostly covered by a wooden screen - the hot tub next door was the other side of some bushes and we could hear the others but it didn’t disturb us. Access to the hot tub was a little chilly as you can’t go from the cabin door down the steps to it, there’s a wooden ramp before hand but once you’re in the tub it’s lovely. The shop was shut when we went to visit for more drinks or kindling (you get enough for 1 fire) but we sent a message and they opened up quickly for us. We were given detailed maps and some recommendations of where to go and what to see. We did the pooh sticks walk which was about 3 miles in total and had some nice views. The amenities were clean but the crockery and cutlery was all poorly washed so we had to clean things as we used them - that’s most likely the fault of previous occupants though and not necessarily the hosts. All in all a positive experience, it was a relaxing, charming atmosphere and comfortable.

  • I would highly recommend this beautiful place. So relaxing and cosy. Staff are very helpful and friendly with giving tips on what to do locally. I would love to come back again.

  • An absolutely lovely place, really enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean and in very good condition. The bed was very comfortable and we particularly loved the fire place! The hot tub was also wonderful and very private with a lovely view over the estuary, which is great to walk along. It was also great that both the TV in the bedroom and the main room both had Netflix and meant we could continue watching programmes on either television. Overall, a really lovely place and would definitely recommend!

    Jon2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • The room was comfortable and the host was very patient and friendly. The location is pretty good, there is a subway not far away, and it takes only two stops to go to Kings cross. The bathroom and kitchen supplies are very complete and can be considered as everything. There was an unknown thing on the curtains in the bedroom at the time ... There was a small footprint accidentally on the bed sheet, which was very good. I believe this is not intentional. Also, London accommodation is already expensive.

1 bed self contained cottage set in rural mid Wales. Large hot tub available to use at an additional cost of £20 per day for your own use..... please let us know prior to arrival if you would like the tub, as we have to balance chemicals and get it up to temperature ready for you. Full kitchen with everything you could possibly need... pots, pans, steamer, slow cooker etc,sky TV, log burner and central heating. We have beautiful views, some lovely walks and a haven of wildlife on our doorstep.
Hot tub can be booked for your sole use (£20 per night).... payable on arrival please. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause but we need to keep our facilities clean for other guests. Please be aware that we are in a valley and internet can be hit and miss, if you are looking to be on line for a lot of the time.... this may not the place for you. Mobile signal is really a no go, we are happy for you to use our land line to make any calls. As we are in the country, as hard as we try, you may spot the odd cobweb in the beams and a little dust.... all part of the character and country experience:-)
Very quiet area. No bus service. Lovely views.
  • Thank you for such an amazing experience! Everything exceeded our expectations there is not a bad word I could say. Jude and Hayden are warm welcoming people and defiantly made us feel at home. I can not wait to return in the near future thank you for such a great time. The scenery is fantastic with a great view of the mountains on one side and the horses and stables on the other. Also the directions we was given was down to a T, we didn’t make one wrong turn and found it easy to locate! Thanks again guys

  • Thank you for making our stay everything we hoped for and needed. Everything was lovely down to the little touches like having the candles lit for our arrival. Communication was fantastic and the welcome we received made us feel right at home and comfortable to ask any questions about the area! Plenty of dvds in the drawer and board games for us, and the hot tub was AMAZING.

    Kim2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hosts were so welcoming and nothing was ever too much trouble. The house itself was so clean and warm. When we arrived the hot tub was warm, the heating was on, candles lit and it felt so homely! We had so much information about the local area and the amenities were fantastic. We will definitely be booking again soon! Thank you so much both! Xx

  • Had a lovely few days here for my partners birthday. We were given plenty of information before hand regarding directions and then greeted by the host on arrival who was very welcoming and friendly. Thankyou, we loved our stay

  • Stayed at this beautiful lodge for a weekend to celebrate my partners birthday. Absolutely perfect if wanting to take a step back from day to day life and enjoy a countryside break. The hosts were so helpful from the get go and happy to answer any questions. We were greeted on arrival and Hadyn brought the humour, had us laughing and feeling right at ease from the start. Showed us around and reassured us that we could approach them at any point during our stay. The lodge was warm and they had a candle lit when we arrived so it instantly just felt so cosy. The hot tub was just as described and had been pre heated for when we got there. Everything you need is provided so we didn’t find ourselves worrying at any point. Huge thank you to Jude and Hadyn, would highly recommend!x

  • What a beautiful little escape from the real world! Cosy, quaint and well equipped for a cosy weekend in or the perfect base to see some of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and other surrounding areas. Couldn't recommend the Waggon and Horses in Newtown enough for a delicious dinner and had the most relaxing evening in the hot tub with a bottle of wine and to completely detach from emails/work/etc. Thank you Jude and Hadyn xx

Breathtaking 2 Bedroom Luxury Cornish Cottage with Panoramic Sea & Harbour Views with Hot Tub - Featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces Situated on a beautiful bay in South Cornwall where seals & dolphins are regularly spotted & local fisherman bring in their daily catch. Less than 5 minutes walk to the local restaurants, bars, pubs, ice-cream shops & ancient Grade 2 listed Port showcasing exquisite tall ships and famous for the film set of Poldark & Alice In Wonderland
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland...and most recently George Clarke, who featured Harbour Lights, formerly known as the ‘Loo with a View', on his hugely popular ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme. It's not hard to see why George was so captivated by the intricate work lovingly carried out on this imaginative and elegantly restored property.  Built in 1771 as a fish and net cellar, the building was later renovated into public conveniences before we rescued it from its ramshackle state in 2015.  The building has now been fully renovated into a truly luxurious pet-friendly two-bedroomed holiday hideaway, full of natural character and marine-inspired style, featuring truly unsurpassed sea views from the cliff top.  Great care and attention has been taken with the design and furnishing of every room to ensure perfect harmony with the beautiful coastal surroundings.  Ancient reclaimed timber décor and solid oak doors add chic touches of time-honoured style, alongside the more contemporary pure white Italian marble worktops and soft grey backgrounds that perfectly complement the magnificent bay and harbour views from the windows. The ground floor encompasses a spacious open-plan living area, described by George Clarke as fabulously "light and airy", featuring a fully furnished designer kitchen that looks out across the harbour.  Fire up the stylish log burner and watch the ships as they glide languidly by! Take the stairs and discover two exquisite bedrooms, one large double featuring glorious views over the harbour and Charlestown Bay - with a luxurious Heritage bath right at the bottom of the bed.  The second, slightly smaller, bedroom features a beautiful view of the garden area. You'll also find a stunning Italian marble and stainless steel furnished en-suite, and a utility area and walk-in wardrobe featuring fitted storage, washer-dryer, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Underfloor heating and a Sonos sound system with three independent zones runs throughout, so that wherever you happen to be, you'll be effortlessly able to set the perfect mood! Simply download the Sonos App on your smart phone and away you go! The views become even better outside, when experienced with a glass of bubbles from the lavish four-seater hot tub looking out across the sea!  There's a slate patio with wash off area that's particularly handy after a sandy day on the beach, and a beautiful garden with decked terraces and colourfully lush flowers and plants that have been carefully selected to make the most of their surroundings. Discover Harbour Lights' namesake at the end of the garden...a quaint little lookout shed which in times past was home to the searchlight that guided the Tall Ships safely into harbour.  Here you'll find two benches carved from the old roof timbers, creating the perfect romantic hideaway. Oh - and just in case you're wondering whether any remnants of the building's former history remain, hanging proudly above the downstairs bathroom are the original ‘ladies' and ‘gentlemen' signs… We just couldn't bring themselves to flush those away! You'll find it extremely difficult to tear yourself away from this sea sanctuary, but if you decide to venture out and about, why not take your dog to Charlestown beach for a run, perhaps with some seal and dolphin-spotting along the way?  Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch before taking yourselves off to indulge in a gourmet seafood meal at the award-winning Falmouth Bay Seafood Café in Truro, another of our stylish dog-friendly retreats. The ancient Grade 2 listed port is steeped in historical architecture...along with a glittering touch of celebrity from its regular use as a film set. So set sail to Harbour Lights and enjoy an invigorating and relaxing break with genuinely breathtaking sea views you won't forget in a hurry!
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland. Go off in any direction along the coast and you’ll find a range of wonderful cafes and restaurants.
  • The place is picturesque, from both inside and outside. You feel disconnected from the world but yet so connected to yourself. The actual feeling around and inside the place is not intelligible and can not be comprehended by the mind, only felt by the heart. Thank you Charlotte for such experience!

    Mehdi2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Harbour Lights will knock your socks off if you are after a relaxing break with great views and facilities

    Chris2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special place, in particular for a 'couples getaway'. We went as a family (two teenage girls) and though a squeeze in the spare room for the girls we all found it a great place to spend a week exploring the local walks, beaches and food. Notwithstanding our stay included a visit from 'Storm Dennis' it was a fantastic week and we enjoyed watching the weather coming into the bay.

    Malcolm2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place in a great location with lovely restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Charlotte was a great host who was available to help with anything required. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks! X

  • This really is a ‘gem’ — absolutely stunning property with luxury finish, in a truly superb location! Walking distance to local beaches, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and everything you will need. We never used our car at all during our stay, and wakening up to the sea views every morning...just ‘wow’!!

    Warren2020-01-27T00:00:00Z

    Robert2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Well where do I start!! The property it’s self is nothing short of amazing. Charlotte kindly accommodated an early check in which was much appreciated. My dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay with lovely complimentary doggie bags. The views from the hot tub are to die for and there was nothing better than relaxing in the bath looking out at the ocean at the end of the day. The scones and the bubbly definitely made it that little bit more special if that’s even possible! Charlestown is beautiful and the recommendations from the welcome pack where much appreciated. Longstore was a special place for a very nice steak. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to be able to stay again soon.

This cosy luxurious self contained oak frame cabin offers the perfect peaceful setting for a relaxing getaway. Listen out and you may hear the owls at night. The cabin offers comfortable, spacious living with King size bed.
Although the cabin is within the grounds of the main property, it is completely separated off by thick hedge rows to offer complete privacy to our guests. A path alongside the house leads the guests to their own entrance of the cabin. This cabin features all you need for a comfortable stay- a small bathroom with shower facility, a spacious open plan living room, an open plan kitchen with a hob and convection microwave oven grill and a comfortable King Size bed on the Mezzanine level, accessed by a ladder. It is furnished with cosy lighting, two comfortable sofas and a dining table. The cabin features a TV as well as a large DVD selection and Hi-Fi system. Kitchen: We also provide utensils so that our guests can choose to stay in and prepare their own meal if they wish. Our cosy little wood cabin is backing straight onto the woods, located in a quiet setting of the sleepy village Potten End, just minutes away from popular old market town Berkhamsted. You can literally walk out of the back gate into the woods and explore the nature. Here are a few tips and activities in the area: Ashridge Estate - a 5,000 acre area of the Chiltern Hills with beech and oak woodlands, commons and chalk downlands. These very different landscapes each support a rich variety of wildlife, including carpets of bluebells in spring, rare butterflies in summer and the fallow deer that rut in autumn. You can walk out of the back gate of the property into the woods and explore Miles of footpaths and bridleways. Frithsden Vineyard – Literally a 30 minute walk through the woods, and you will get to this beautiful boutique English vineyard and winery set in the foothills of the Chilterns. Berkhamsted Town centre and Castle – have a stroll through Berkhamsted highstreet and explore Berkhamsted Castle's remains. The town has a special place in our history: following the Saxon defeat at the Battle of Hastings, it was at Berkhamsted that the bishops and noblemen formally offered William the Conqueror the crown. The Rex – "possibly Britain's most beautiful cinema" (BBC), the Rex has one huge screen set in a glorious 1938 art-deco proscenium arch, with "the sharpest film projection and clearest non-booming sound anywhere in the world". The whole experience is delightfully civilized: sink into large, comfortable seats then sit back with cheese and wine to enjoy the film. Berkhamsted Waterways Walk – Go for a walk along the River Bulbourne andGrand Union Canal which run through the town and enjoy a cold drink in the popular Boat pub. Tring Natural History Museum – 5 miles from Berkhamsted. The wonderful galleries of this beautiful Victorian museum present a fascinating range of animals, from tiny dressed fleas to a smiling polar bear and domestic dogs. Britain's newest snow centre at Hemel Hempstead is currently the coolest place to go to enjoy skiing, snowboarding and other snow sports on indoor slopes of real snow. The main slope is 160m long and 30m wide, serviced by two POMA button lifts. The trainer slope is 100m long, with two rope tows. There are lessons for everyone new to snow, and clothing and equipment is on hand to hire. Whipsnade Zoo – 9 miles from Berkhamsted. Set on the slopes of the Chiltern Hills, the UK's biggest zoo is home to more than 2,500 animals, many of which are endangered in the wild. Whipsnade is noted for creating interactive and inspiring exhibits and popular daily events including keeper talks, animal feeds and demonstrations. You can drive through the 'Passage through Asia' or take the free Safari bus which stops at all the main exhibits in the 600 acre site. Harry Potter, Warner Bros. Studio Tour – the Making of Harry Potter – 9.7 miles from Berkhamsted. A visit to the Harry Potter World offers you an insight behind the scenes to showcase a huge array of beautiful sets, costumes and props and to reveal the secrets of the special effects and animatronics that made these films hugely popular all over the world.

  • Such a unique place to stay in a beautiful wild location. I feel rested and recharged after a peaceful two night stay. Even the weather didn’t spoil our trip as the airship is even more cosy in the wind and rain - there’s nothing like an afternoon in front of a wood burning stove with a glass of wine or two, some good music on the radio, good company and a sleeping dog curled up at your feet. Excellent - definitely recommend.

  • This is a stunning flat, amazing location and Hugh is a great host. All our needs were pre-empted and we had everything we could ask want. Just a couple of things to be aware of - it's up 2 flights of stairs so it's not ideal if you have mobility issues and there is only one bathroom so if you're going with a large group, that might be something to take into consideration. Otherwise, a great stay in a fantastic flat.

    Priyanka2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Hugh was extremely accommodating and a great host. The space is absolutely beautiful, I don’t even think you can appreciate it until you explore in person. Great for the group of 10 of us that came and had plenty of space.

    Hayley2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Hugh’s place is gorgeous with a lot of unique art and functional use of space. He is a great host.

The adorable Beach Hill Cottage is located in the heart of the picturesque & unspoilt village of Portloe only yards from the harbour beach and is perfect for a couple or a small family all year round. From the doorstep, you can watch the comings & goings of the local crab & lobster fishermen as they launch their boats and land their catches daily. This is Cornwall as we all imagine, but rarely find these days. Dogs are welcome.
The adorable Beach Hill Cottage is located in the heart of the picturesque & unspoilt village of Portloe only yards from the harbour beach and is perfect for a couple or a small family all year round. From just outside your front door you can watch the comings & goings of the local crab & lobster fishermen as they launch their boats and land their catches daily. This is Cornwall as we all imagine, but rarely find these days. Beach Hill Cottage is a beautifully converted former fisherman's cottage. It is a small cottage, but full of character and wonderfully presented by the Owners. It is an ideal all year round basis as it has a woodburning stove for cosy winter evenings. It is perfectly positioned for exploring the miles of coastal walks and only a short drive to the spectacular Carne beach. The cottage itself has a small but well fitted kitchen with a dining table & slate floor. The lounge is a really cosy room & full of character with a wood burning stove and beamed ceiling. There is a comfortable sofa and window seat. There are steep stairs leading up to the first floor bedrooms & bathroom. Accommodation Ground Floor: Open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. First Floor: Double bedroom, single room with truckle bed (extending to a double bed) and separate bathroom with shower & WC. Exterior: There is no garden, but there is a small slate area to the front where there is a table and two chairs to sit and watch the harbour. Facilities & Services Heating is via the wood burning stove and combination convection/night storage heaters downstairs and in both bedrooms. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and washing machine. The lounge has a smart TV / DVD player, CD & radio and Bluetooth speaker. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included, but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is a parking space right in front of the cottage which you can normally park in however please note that it is not for the sole use of the cottage so you may at times have to park in the main village car park which is a 5 minute walk away. Please note that the stairs at the cottage are quite steep. There is WiFi available at the property. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome at a small additional cost of £25 per dog / per week. We regret no smoking is permitted. There is an iron and ironing board and clothes horse. There is a cot & high chair available on request. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is a Friday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £200 security deposit is required to be pre-authorised on your card.
Portloe is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of the Roseland peninsula and one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall. Its steep sided valleys has meant that it has managed to escape development over the years and many buildings differ little from when they were built. Sir John Betjeman said of Portloe "One of the least spoiled and most impressive of Cornish fishing villages". Portloe is an ideal place to stay on the Roseland Peninsula. It is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, yet it has a really good local pub & hotel. The village itself is only a short drive from the other villages such as St Mawes. The city of Truro is also within a 25 minute drive. The Lugger Hotel with its excellent restaurant is only a few steps away and the Ship Inn is a short walk. The New Inn at Veryan serves food. There is also the Portloe Tea Room nearby. There is no general store in Portloe, however there are shops at Veryan (1.4 miles) and a Londis store at Bessy Beneath (3 miles). Further pubs, shops & restaurants are also available in Tregony, Ruan Lanihorne, Portscatho & St Mawes.
  • A quiet spot in Portloe but with a hotel and a pub on the doorstep, has coastal path with easy walks in both directions, leading to nice lunch stops, internally all is provided for your comfort and its spotlessly clean, bring your own food as well as dishwasher tabs and your all set up As we visited in winter we took logs, firelighters and kindling but these can easily be purchased at Texaco garage about 3 miles away.

    Jean2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage by the sea. Just a literal stones throw from the cottage is the lovely rocky cove of Portloe. Cottage has all you need for a break away. Even a welcoming cake was left out for us! Very much enjoyed our stay here.

    Howard2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage in a perfect location, there is everything you need for a comfortable stay and my wife and I loved being able to hear the sea at night. All communication with Richard was straightforward and easy, and the cottage lives up to its billing. Having said that Dog walking is for the adventurous, but you are rewarded with stunning views. We had good meal in The ship.. and our experience of Dinner at the Lugger hotel was exemplary.. booked a table day before and asked about Vegan options for my wife (I’m a card holding carnivore) and on arrival they had created an entire Vegan menu just for her and was the nicest meal and loveliest dining experience we have ever had. I am so glad we have found Beach Hill cottage and WILL be returning. Many thanks for a memorable 5 days.

  • Perfect for a relaxing getaway, amazing location , you can step out and the little harbour is right there, the cottage is cosy , curl up by the log fire and read a book or play games, walk along the coastal paths pop into the pub on the way home !! The Beach Cottage is superb and I highly recommend staying, great location for your four legged friends!! Thanks we will definitely book again

    Richard2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Would thoroughly recommend this place. Great little cottage in an amazing location. Couldn’t be closer to the sea. Hotel opposite was always busy but didn’t create any noise. Very welcoming too to non residents. Pub was also good for a pint or pub meal. Only downside was that you couldn’t always park outside cottage due to hotel customers. Was always possible to park up the hill in the car park (5mins walk) so not the end of the world. Lots of great dog friendly places to eat in the area. Definitely recommend the Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick Beach

    Justin2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely quaint cottage in a wonderful little village. Great coastal walks and the locals are very welcoming. Buses are right on your door step and tasting local Cornish pasty’s is a must.

Our secluded cabin is surrounded by ancient oak tree forest and all the wildlife that comes with it. It is so peaceful that you will only hear the river and the birds. Set in 10 acres of our own land for you to explore and easy access to Snowdonia public foothpaths, it is perfect for those looking to spend some time in nature. The cabin itself features private hot tub, wet room, underfloor heating, large deck with bbq, kingsize bed, kitchen, living and dining area and a private cinema.
*Our cabin is very popular and if it’s full for your dates we have another equally wonderful place to stay ‘The Barn Owl’. Find it by clicking on our host profile photo* Our cabin is a nature lovers retreat for those looking for an adventure on foot or 2 wheels, or merely an escape from hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's located in the heart of Snowdonia, surrounded by native ancient forest and the wildlife it supports, nothing but the sound of the river and birdsong. After leaving your car at the garage, make the rest of your journey on foot, a short walk over a bridge by a waterfall and up a tree lined track up towards the cabin. The cabin is a long stone's throw from the main house but enjoys complete privacy through it's own gate and is hidden amongst trees and shrubs. It comprises large furnished deck complete with hot tub, perfect for relaxing in nature and under the stars. Inside there is underfloor heating, kingsize bed, fully equipped kitchen & dining area, wet room and large comfy couch on which to enjoy a full cinema experience. *From mid March we will be changing our hot tub from an electric to a wood fired tub. We think you’ll agree it’s a cut above as we have learned from our other Airbnb rental :) * The cabin is a perfect way to explore this part of Snowdonia, the surrounding area is crisscrossed with walkers paths and bike trails, there are outdoor pursuits galore from surfing to zip wiring over the slate mines. Snowdon itself is close for more great walking, as is Coed y Brenin for mountain biking and Bala for watersports or simply amble through nearby forests, by beautiful rivers and lakes. On a sunny day, the beautiful white sandy beaches of Harlech, Borth y Gest and the Llyn Peninsula are all within a short drive away. Now for the basics, we provide bedding and towels, small welcome pack (for 3+ nights). Eco-sensitive toiletries are provided which we encourage you to use. The cabin comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a further 2 small children or babies and we can supply travel cot, blow up bed and high chair. The cabin has full cinema experience and we have an extensive library for you to choose from. We are both keen walkers and can supply maps or advice on the many local hikes. You can even borrow 'Jake' - our perfect dog - if you promise to take him for a walk!!
Our nearest neighbour is well over 1/2 a mile away. It's you, the trees, the birds and the stars. There are nearby towns of Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog for your supplies and various pub food and restaurant options. We are also close by to Portmeirion Village.
  • Excellent place already booked our return! Thanks so much!

    Natasha2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my partner recently spent a week in the cabin, along with our 8 month old puppy. The space is gorgeous - clean, warm and full of thoughtful little touches like prosecco, popcorn and dressing gowns for after the hot tub. Now I mention it the hot tub was amazing - we saw 5 shooting stars whilst relaxing one night and plenty of secure space for the dog to run about. Mark and Lindsay are welcoming and helpful hosts - definitely recommenda stay for anyone needing an escape from the real world!

    Jessica2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cabin, location and hosts!

    Metin2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Such a lovely cosy retreat in the heart of the beautiful landscape. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the place. So much so that on the second morning we had already booked for our next trip there. The cabin is perfect, from the hot tub on the deck to to the lovely comfy bed it couldn't be faulted. The hardest part of the stay was choosing which film to watch from the brilliant DVD collection.. can't recommend enough.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Lindsay are lovely hosts and great at communicating, very helpful. This is the best air bnb I’ve stayed at! Even staying during the storm we had a lovely time. The cabin is beautiful, and the hot tub and surrounding area is amazing. We found a few treats left for us, and Mark and Lindsay were really quick at responding to any questions, never seeming like we were hassling them. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay. We managed a few hours walking despite the stormy weather (storm Ciara) and the area is really nice. Being in an ancient oak woodland in a hot tub even in bad weather and being able to cosy up with a home cinema screen (blue ray collection is great), is awesome. Highly recommend ‘Us’ if you like to be a bit scared. No complaints at all.

    Anthony2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed here with our dog. All three of us felt well catered for. The cabin has everything you need and extras from Mark and Lindsay that make your stay even better. We loved the enclosed area so our dog could roam around safely whilst we soaked in the hot tub after long walks that were recommended by the hosts. We were provided with so much info about the surrounding areas. It really is a one of a kind kinda place!

    Stevie-Leigh2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great countryside, well worth a stay

    Jake2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Lindsay’s cabin is a must for anyone looking to escape the rat race. Hidden away in a picturesque valley, the cabin is in an ideal location for rest and recuperation. My partner and I had 3 perfect days, making the most of the walk maps left behind by Mark and Lindsay. It’s ideal for little ones too, as our daughter loved watching the sheep and spending time at the local waterfalls. The evenings were extra special for us, spending time relaxing in the hot tub, staring at the stars, miles from any light pollution or noise. We will certainly visit again!!!!!

The Den is a unique space within the Lake District - a Scandinavian style BBQ cabin. A large BBQ pit in the centre to sit around provides a cosy relaxing evening space, and a place to cook! WiFi, Fridge, Microwave, Kettle & Nespresso. Bedding provided, and a heated blanket! 8 minutes by car to Windermere, 5 minutes to Kendal. Easy access to a bus stop and cycle lane. Dales Way very close by. A camping-type toilet and sink (hot & cold water) next to the cabin. Dogs welcome £5/night extra.
Set in 2/3rds of an acre of beautiful gardens with private countryside views. Off street private and secure parking is provided. Toilet is located next to The Den in a separate shed. The sink has running hot & cold drinking water. Please note there are not shower facilities, but the sink with running water is suitable for taking a daily wash.
We are about half way between Kendal and Windermere. The main cycle lane into the Lake District is directly across the road, as is the Dales Way walking path. The Den is in a semi-rural setting with views to the surrounding countryside. For clarity's sake, during busy rush hours there is some traffic noise from the road, but evenings and nights are typically quiet. Please note that we are not the Windermere Camping Site, despite the AirBnB map showing it close by!
  • What a wonderful place! The lodge is truly magical, such a romantic little get away. We are definitely going to be back to explore the area further - its a close drive to the lakes nearby. Both Matt and yassmine were lovely, very attentive and made sure we had everything that we needed. It was great to wake up to the Shetland ponies outside and a greeting from Gaston the dog. Would highly recommend to anyone!

  • Cool sparkley den for a romantic getaway :) Beautiful area and host was really helpful. It was early March so a bit chilly out but the BBQ warmed up the den and the toilet had a heater in so acted as a drying room for us. Great break! Thank you!

  • Fabulous little hut. We bought the stay as a gift, they really enjoyed it. We went up to visit and Matthew was fantastic, told us where to go, how to feed the horse, which our 2 year old loved. Hut is great, big bbq, all the essentials.

Thank you for the recommendations Yassmine for where to go we enjoyed everything that you suggested. The room and facilities were fantastic. Matt and Yassmine have thought of everything, providing guests with charcoal, WiFi, tea and coffee, etc. They are also such friendly and responsive hosts! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the den and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, quirky place (the bbq is an amazing feature). Thank you both!

  • Booked for Xmas present for my girlfriend and what a great choice I made. The hut was absolutely stunning from the moment we arrived. Location is also accessible from a number of viewpoints and amenities. The fire pit is a lovely touch where we made dinner. Shetland pony’s were a nice little surprise too. The hit was slightly cold, however to be expected in Feb. Highly recommend staying in this beautiful hut and we will be back!

Right next to the shore - along which you can walk to the local Inn. Simple, spacious and basic. This bothy is our former home decluttered. One large, light open-plan room. Small range & wood-burner provides heating and hot water. Composting toilet.
This is an old stone building with a more recent stone end built by my brother Donald Icky Maclachlan - stonemason. It is very basic but it does have double glazing. The track down into the bay at Camuslusta is very steep. Although some people can find this a bit daunting, the track has a fairly good surface and all the residents of Camuslusta drive normal cars up and down it daily. The front door of the bothy practically opens onto the beach. Although the track to our house runs between the bothy and the shore. You can watch the gannets, gulls, herons, oyster-catchers, seals and occasionally an otter from the front door or through the windows. With views over to the uninhabited headland opposite, out to the little islands at the head of the bay, or of the shipping crossing the Minch between us and the Outer Isles. The bothy has one large, light and spacious, open-plan living, kitchen, sleeping room. The bothy offers flexible sleeping arrangements - there is a double bed and also a 1930's sofa bed which is probably not that comfortable. Depending on what is required - I can also make up another single bed or another double. Get in touch if you would like to have the sofabed and the two double beds - this is possible. The kitchen is very basic. One step up from camping - it's inside, and there's a sink and a fridge. It has a small wood-burning range which heats the water and also two-ring gas stove for quick cooking. The bothy has basics like an electric kettle, electric toaster, pans, plates glasses and cutlery. We provide basics like milk, oatmeal for porridge (and a recipe), tea, coffee, olive oil for cooking, salt, pepper. At the moment - guests can use the bathroom in our house for a shower. We have towels - not necessarily the fluffiest ever, but fine. As guests you will have the option of using a simple composting toilet outside (until the new grander composting toilet is built) or the toilet in the house. Our house is a short distance along the track and the bathroom is in the extension by the front door. There is a telly but it only plays videos. There are a few videos in the cupboard - a small but varied collection. Do not expect this bothy to be immaculate - it is a more than a little worn around the edges - but it is a beautiful space in an amazing spot.
The view changes with the weather - very atmospheric moody windy wild wet days and then you wake up to the clear beauty of a sunny day - looking across the still loch to the unpopulated peninsula opposite. Just step outside and you can wander along the shore towards the village, to the pub (the Stein Inn) or the small craft shop. You can book a boat trip out from the jetty at Stein. Stein is roughly a twenty minute walk. Or you can walk the other way to find some peace and quiet. The Stein Inn serves food and there is also a small seafood restaurant (for which you probably need to book) - if walking to Stein, you can also walk around the road, which takes a bit longer. Or you can drive.
  • Brigid's bothy is simple, clean, well equipped and really lovely. More than that, the location - it's simply heaven, really unbelievable! An unmissable experience.

  • Brilliant Bothy that’ll give you that calm Skye experience without going full on camping! Would definitely recommend and Brigid is super helpful !

    Nick2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect wee spot right by the ocean for a quiet and very affordable break away, close to Portree for all the main shops and supplies if needed too. Great host that was a lot of help and also very generous with help and advice, well worth listening too. Would have already booked another trip if it wasn’t so far booked up lol, honestly didn’t want to leave. Great place

    David2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Hello, not amazing views. Very nice atmosphere. Brigid very helpful. I would definitely recommend.

    Ewa2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the Bothy. The location was perfect, cozy, relaxing and just what we needed. Thanks to Bridgid for being such a Great host. Would definitely recommend and stay at this location again.

    Roxanne2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The wee bothy has what you need. We were only there 2 nights, which was a pity, could happily stayed for longer. The views are simply amazing! Brigid was great, maintained contact throughout and advised beforehand that there was a slight issue with the track, but it wasn’t an issue for us. We will return to Skye for sure and would happily stay here again :)

Nestled high in the beautiful Saddleworth hills, enjoy a taste of Tiny House living in a peaceful woodland setting all to yourself. If you’re looking for a bolt-hole, this is it! Although rural, the cabin is nearby to the picturesque villages of Uppermill, Diggle, Dobcross and Delph, all with essential amenities and transport links with the Peak District and Pennine hills on our doorstep. For singles, couples or young families (one child under 12yrs).
UPDATE 11.5.20 The cabin has now reopened and is available to book. Dates have now opened up from 1st June onwards. Please note that all guests now self-check in and have no host contact. UPDATE: Cleanliness and hygiene has always been a priority for all of our guests but in light of the current coronavirus situation, I’ve taken the extra precautions to deep clean between each booking. This means an extra hour to ensure every inch of the cabin is disinfected and sterile for your safety. Therefore check in is now from 3pm. I’d also like to reassure guests that at the cabin you are safe in the knowledge that you will be completely separate from the family home. There is even a guest entrance to the woods. The cabin has been fully redecorated and has a brand new luxury bed and Eve hybrid mattress. Updated photos to follow! Please read the listing description throughly before booking or enquiring. *The cabin has a minimum two night stay* We have a lovely and unique tiny house experience but it may not be for everyone! Please ask if unsure, I’m very happy to help. The cabin has all the facilities to make you feel comfortable and perfectly at home. A perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and a peaceful place to relax and unwind in a secluded and private woodland setting. You will have total privacy and seclusion at the cabin. Within 30 acres of privately owned land, it is a real retreat from the general noise and stresses of everyday life. You might just have the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had! The cabin's living/ bedroom has a large comfortable double sofa bed and ensuite with double shower. All linens, towels, gowns and slippers are included for your use. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO COOKER OR HOB. To cook is a microwave or bbq. Smart TV with some analogue channels and also tons of DVDs for your use. PLEASE NOTE - we’ve given up on WiFi for moment as it’s so unreliable. Why not log out for a while and enjoy real HD life in the countryside:) Help yourself to enjoy a wide selection of card and board games or books to read. With some of your favourite tunes on the Bluetooth speaker, cuddle up with a hot chocolate or glass of wine and enjoy a restful, cosy, lazy time in the woods. There is also a Weber bbq, log burning Chiminea and seating on the outdoor deck area overlooking a stunning view of the valley. There are wild pheasants, partridges, hares, rabbits, squirrels, badgers, hedgehogs, wood pigeons, kestrels, Kites, Sparrow Hawks and owls who live and forage in the woods and surrounding areas. We also have our own flock of chickens and ducks who may join you for some breakfast entertainment;) During the Spring we hatch and raise new ducklings and chicks to keep things fun, guests are most welcome to meet them when they hatch. We also have sheep and our own horses in adjacent fields . Feel free to give them a pat but please DO NOT feed the horses as they are on a special diet. Also we ask guests not to enter the field with the horses. They are large animals so youngsters should be supervised by an adult at all times.
Located in a tiny and beautiful rural hamlet high in the Saddleworth hills. We are perfectly situated on the Pennine bridleway for cyclists, walkers and horse riders - a very popular choice for those travelling this amazing route. There are two delightful local pubs only 10- 15 mins walk away, serving great pub grub and local ales. Comfortable seating, roaring fires and beer gardens. Proper Yorkshire hospitality! Its about a 25 min walk to Uppermill ( the largest village in Saddleworth). A lively village with lots of boutiques, gift shops, cafes, wine bars, pubs, restaurants and a great tourist information centre at the Saddleworth museum. To Diggle, it’s a 15-20 min walk down the hill to the village. Great ice-cream at Grandpa Greenes and lovely canal walks to Uppermill. There is a Tesco supermarket 10 mins drive away in Greenfield.
  • The place was sparkling clean. There were no problems finding the location as was set out very clear. The place had wonderful scenic views to wake up to and the weather was lovely making it a good experience

  • This is a beautiful cabin tucked away in the trees with outstanding views. Nic is a great host, and there are lots of thoughtful touches. We really enjoyed our stay, and there is plenty to do in the local area. Nic's recommendations are very useful in this regard. We would thoroughly recommend this as a place to get away from it all!

    Rebecca2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view, very clean but most importantly a very friendly host!

    Jack2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Nic's tiny house was beyond amazing. Check in was a breeze with effective communication. The house was spectacularly clean and with perfect views. We particularly enjoyed the runner ducks over breakfast! Nic had impeccable knowledge of the local area. Highly recommend the pots and pans walk! Although a little breezy. The tiny house has all the little amenities one needs for a quiet getaway. There are plenty of board and card games available. We spent hours playing chess and looking over the view. Don't hesitate to book this perfect getaway, hopefully we will be back one day.

    Danielle2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little cabin. We had a really relaxing time. There is loads to do nearby and pubs within walking distance. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    Sarah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nic was a great host, responds quickly and you can tell is such a nice genuine person. The accommodation it self was so special and such a great find. We didnt have the best weather but I think that made it even more special hearing the rain and wind but staying super cosy in the hut, absolutely brilliant. The views are pretty spectacular and fully recommend sitting with a cup of tea just looking out in the morning. We went to many of the places Nic suggests and all were lovely, great area for a couple of drinks and taxis easy to get as well. The peasant woke us up in the morning which I loved especially the nosey chickens and ducks.

    Mia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin in perfect location

  • This is a gem of a find and very secluded for the ideal getaway. Theresa was very helpful and the perfect superhost. I recommend this place hugely!

    Paul2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve stayed at one of Theresa’s other listings, and it was stunning just as this one is. Be prepared to veg out in luxury and treat yourself to movies and activities. This suite is absolutely beautiful and enjoyed every minute staying there. The area that the property sits in is remote, quiet and very calming and enjoyable. Would recommend, especially for families :)

    Alfie2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely space - the cinema screen and hot tub bath make it really special. Incredibly clean and has a luxury feel. Theresa even sorted balloons, chocolates and petals making it extra special. Just take note there is no microwave- a fridge, kettle and toaster are all there but not a “kitchen” as such. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to some friends!

  • This cottage was everything we wanted for a little weekend get away. It was super clean & very homely. The bed was very comfy. We loved the bath, this was great.. we also liked that there were bathrobes provided! Would definitely stay here again.

    Ashleigh2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is the perfect escape. We drove from South London which took just over 4.5 hours on lovely winding country roads through the welsh countryside and mountains. The cottage is bursting with character (we particularly liked the beams and log fire) whilst perfectly modern with every amenity under the sun. The jacuzzi bath is fabulous and the kitchen is incredibly well stocked. We had a welcome note and package which was a lovely touch. The free parking right outside is a helpful touch, and the town nearby is very easy to get to, sporting a huge supermarket and then some smaller bakery’s, book shops etc. There is a huge range of information provided at the cottage and we took one of the hiking routes along Harlech beach which was wonderful. Overall would absolutely recommend a stay if you are seeking a cosy country escape.

    Aimee2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing! Had everything you could want and more! The cottage feels like a home away from home. Host was extremely helpful and provided all the information required. Would definitely stay here again!

    Liam2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for 3 nights and in all honesty we had a fantastic time- it exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect; the pub (The Grape) with wonderful food/service only 1 minute walk down the road. 10 minute drive to the nearest village, has everything you need for a short stay (Tesco/ shops/ cafe's). During out stay one of the days it was impossible to go out due to the weather (we attempted and nearly got stuck due to flooding!) but still had a lovely day chilling in the cottage and again was super handy for The Grape to be within walking distance. The property itself was beautifully decorated/ very homely/ clean with high quality fixtures and fittings. The parking outside was an added bonus as well as the area being super quiet. All in all we would love to come back in a couple of years but we would personally choose to come around April. We could not fault our stay, it was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Charlotte was a superb host and left some very welcome touches such as fresh bread, eggs and milk. The apartment itself has everything you need, is cosy, warm and super comfortable, with the most incredible view of the castle. We will certainly be back.

This is a perfect location, close to everything (tucked away enough to get a good night's sleep) and our host went above and beyond to make certain our stay was comfortable and enriched. In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole and that means comfort.
Thank you so much to everyone that has stayed and left such lovely reviews. Yes it's a small space but everyone seems to have enjoyed staying. We've certainly enjoyed it ourselves a couple of times (well we had to test it didn't we!) Nowhere else can you stay with a view like this from your comfortable bed! We are only 15 minutes from Hay on Wye and the perfect place to stay during the Hay festival. The Hobbit House has a wood-fired cooker so that you can cook your own meals and there is running water just outside. A large sofabed folds out to a full-sized double bed with a deep comfortable mattress. All bedding etc provided. Dinner and breakfast can be provided at extra cost - how about a nice hearty stew in a slow-cooker ready for you to arrive, with fresh bread warming in the Hobbit House's wood-fired oven? We have a number of great walks starting from the doorstep and a rural pub over the road. (please note that the pub is generally only open at weekends) PLEASE NOTE: 95% of people have loved staying here, but it isn't to everyone's tastes. it IS small. it does have a sofa bed rather than a proper bed. The bathroom is down in our house and although it is for your exclusive use, it is a 30 second walk away. This is glamping, not luxury. But if that suits you then you'll have an amazing time.
A Hobbit House in the middle of the beautiful Brecon Beacons. I think that's pretty unique don't you?!
  • We had a lovely time staying in the hobbit house! Hosts were very accommodating and it's in such a beautiful setting. Thankyou!

  • Lovely break away. Really peaceful location. Cute space to stay in and lots of information given.

    Shona2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 2 nights in the hobbit house and it was fantastic! Tin supplier fire wood which was amazing as it was freezing cold!!! Any young couples looking for a quirky weekend away and like having adventures this is the place for you.

    Jason2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The hobbit house really is small, but it's also gorgeous. We were very cosy once the fire was going and had everything we needed. We cooked all our meals on the wood-fired stove which is a wonderful way to cook! We cheated and used our camping stove for coffee in the morning when we weren't patient enough for the fire to get going. The location is superb, with beautiful views and excellent walks right on the doorstep: we didn't quite make it up Waun Fach due to high winds but had a wonderful walk nonetheless culminating in a delicious pint in the Dragon's Back pub. And there are loads of fantastic walks within a short driving distance. Talgarth is just a short drive away for getting in some supplies, and there is a short but beautiful walk with impressive waterfalls right next to the town. The whole area was pretty muddy when we were there so be prepared if it's been raining!

    Lindsay2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun place to stay, one of a kind! We loved spending the night in your Hobbit House, especially our 3 year old who had a blast! She especially loved Bear and helping keep an eye on the fire. It was a great addition to our adventures in Wales, just walking up to it was exciting with our tour guide, Bear the dog! The milk and chocolate was a lovely surprise too, thank you very much for a unique place to rest our heads.

    Darren2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay. Tin is very informative and quick to respond. Thank you for a great stay

    Mark2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, truly magical. The surrounding areas are fabulous and Bear is a super extra host! The place was super clean, the fire was fab and the brochures were really helpful. Would definitely recommend a local pub called the Farmers Arms for some reasonably priced but amazing food :) 10/10 will stay again!

Authentic medieval mini castle with roaring log fires and all modern comforts. In beautiful countryside on the River Tweed. Ideal for exploring the Scottish Borders. Biking at Glentress 5 minutes; Edinburgh 45 minutes; Peebles nearby. Heavenly walks.
Enjoy staying in a cosy, romantic miniature castle with all the luxuries of the 21st century. There is a luxurious double bed on the top floor and a possible 2 extra single beds in the Sitting Room.
The rolling hills and romantic valleys of Peebleshire are some of the loveliest in the land. World class Glentress is nearby for keen mountain bikers and Peebles is full of charm, with an award winning chocolatier and plenty of interesting shops.
  • We had a really relaxing and comfortable time at Barns Tower. The views from and of it are spectacular. The house had everything we needed, and the open fires and massive bath with lovely toiletries were big bonuses for us. The lovely riverside walk nearby was great and the historic building has been sensitively (and comfortably!) refurbished. We can't fault anything about our stay and hope to visit again!

    Alison2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a must stay place for anyone. The attention to detail is exemplary, sympathetically restored to an extremely high standard. The circular tweed walk (around 5 miles) is certainly worth doing as it's on easy flat terrain. Roaring log fires in both the lounge and kitchen make for cosy evenings in. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

    David2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Well, how to begin! Barns Tower is amazing! The history is well worth reading, as well. The place is exceptionally clean and tidy. What a wonderful experience to stay in such an old building with so much character. The personal touches - bread, milk, eggs, butter, cereal, and fruit were so nice to have. For us, the location was perfect as we hiked the Tweed Path and other areas in and around Peebles. A definite "must stay" when visiting the area. Even if you are not, it would be worth going out of your way to stay in this incredible place. Thank you, Lulu! We absolutely loved your place...

    Catherine2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wee treasure. We had a wonderful time and loved the environment with the river and abandonned railway. The castle was very clean and comfortable.

  • A truly unique and beautiful place to stay. The property has all the amenities you could need. It is in a great location for walking and for a day trip to Edinburgh.

  • The Castle is beautiful and even better than it looks in the pictures. It’s cosy and very peaceful. I’m sure we’ll come back for another visit. Cheers, Jack and Emma

  • Everything was perfect: a warm welcome with touches of attention, perfectly clean places, heated rooms, complete kitchen equipment, sufficient bathroom linen, etc. It was a magical stay in a tower steeped in history in the Scottish countryside. The walks in the surrounding countryside are superb: fields, woods and river ... and Lulu offered us a private tour of the Neidpath Castle: exceptional! One of our best AirBNB experiences

The Riverside cabin is a truly hand-built home, made with love from the woodland that surrounds it.. A rustic Cornish getaway, only 15 minutes from Falmouth. With the sound of the wind in the leaves, the tinkling water and the crackling fire to relax you. We hope you will have a wonderfully memorable time.
The Cabin is set in a lovely woodland garden, with a firepit for outdoor cooking, swings and a stream to paddle in. It is situated next to a stream and woodland, near a quiet country road with great access to creeks, cliffs and beaches of Cornwall
The Cabin is just off a rural road between the thriving seaside/ harbour town of Falmouth, and the creeks and fishing villages of the Beautiful Helford River and the Lizard peninsula.
  • Great little place really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful craftsmanship.

  • Loved every minute of it. Super cute and cosy. Great location for exploring surrounding Cornish towns!

  • One of the most beautiful spaces I have been fortunate enough to spend time in, ever. The craftsmanship is exquisite and the love that ben has for wood is palpable. The communication was swift and straightforward. It is really a magical place. It is closer to a (v quiet) road than I expected but everything else (wood burner, swings, fairy lights etc) made up for it.

  • A magnificent experience! Very authentic and humble place with all the essentials and more. If you want something magical look no further! We loved every moment, specially the outside shower and waking up to birds singing and a steam flowing.

  • It was an absolutely amazing, well needed break away. It was peaceful and tranquil and we had a very relaxing time ( which is total opposite at home). The weather was crisp and cold but with some sun. I loved the swing and the fire pit and the outdoor shower was a great touch, something I never thought I would enjoy but I did... the photo album showing how it was built and all the other items Ben can build was a lovely touch. It was for my fiance 30th birthday. We have recommended to friends and we hope to stay again sometime soon. Thank you so much.

  • Exquisite getaway in the wilds of Cornwall, this cabin is an absolute must stay. Complete with log burning stove, outdoor fire pit and composting loo, this is really one for the outdoorsy adventurer who still loves a bit of home comfort. Suitable for couples or families, and with lots to do in the area with some great local pubs, cafes and attractions. Short drive to Trebah gardens, helford passage and the seal sanctuary at gweek to name a few. A perfect weekend, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you Ben x
