“Set in the old Victorian train station, the market takes place on both platforms. The station is still active but now serves the Metro with direct links to Newcastle city centre. Everything from art to vintage; great vinyl selections, street food, home baked goods, crafts.”

“Tynemouth Castle and Priory, maintained by English Heritage was once one of the largest fortified areas in England. Overlooking the North Sea and River Tyne, it dominates the headland. With its 2000-year history and beautiful views, it is the perfect location for family fun day out. ”

“A great little place right on the beach, they cook everything on an open grill and a wood fired oven. Take layers as it's open to the elements and the North Sea breeze!”

“Never disappointed with the food here. They have a take away section as well as a sit down restaurant. Fantastic food - not just your run of the mill fish and chips (though that's good too!)”

“Happy memories at this beach so even though the area has become up market and busy during the past decade i still love the beach. Check out Tynemouth market on saturdays and sundays too! It's in the metro station so easy to get to from Gateshead Interchange or you can take the number 1 coaster from Durham Rd. If you like history then checkout Tynemouth Priory too :)”
