  • Really lovely stay, we ended up staying during a storm warning, but had a great time curled by the range. Perfect spot for a quiet weekend. Hosts were very thoughtful. Space was beautiful.

  • Beautiful converted stables, with the most charming and helpful host. We would love to come here again.

  • This has been my favourite Air B&B place so far for a solo trip. Paul and Joan were lovely, and I had plenty of space and solitude for myself. Very comfortable space indeed. You definitely need a car here though!

    Abby2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Even with the amazing pictures, they still don’t do this place justice until you see it in person. After staying in a run down apartment in Dublin, the Stables were a HUGE improvement for us and we were stunned at the amount of work Paul and Joan put into this place. It is secluded, but not far away from town at all. We took a lovely baking class in Galway (only about 40 min from here) and spent some time in the nearby town of Ennis. The hosts were incredibly responsive, and we had the immense pleasure of meeting Paul as he came to light the fire for us on multiple occasions. Their surrounding property is stunning, which includes some surprise visitors, like their two gorgeous horses, and Pushkin, the sweetest cat in all of Ireland. We miss the Stables so much already and would highly recommend it to anyone hoping to visit County Clare and the surrounding area! You won’t regret it!

  • This place is wonderful! Gorgeous restoration, incredible cozy, well stocked with coffee, eggs etc. Great recommendations for things to see and great location for exploring. We didn’t want to leave! We were inspired by the design and layout, and the energy of the place was warm and welcoming. Paul was very helpful in our planning and had good tips on places to eat and visit! Lovely peaceful countryside and two very friendly horses out back. We arrived home to a fire each evening and lights turned on. It made us feel very taken care of so far from home! We would certainly return here on our next trip to Ireland!

  • This place is truly magical and cannot recommend both the place and Paul & Joan as hosts. We arrived late in the evening after driving from Dublin and Joan had been very responsive/helpful during our drive over. Joan had already started a fire before we arrived along with complimentary fresh eggs, milk and jam for us to make breakfast in the morning! The Kiltanon House is in an absolutely beautiful part of the country. We stayed in the horse carriage room and it was so rustic chic and cool we couldn’t stop gushing about how awesome the place was. The location was also quiet, secluded and exactly what my wife and I were looking for on our honeymoon! We also became best friends with their cat, Pushkins, who came around for cuddles and my wife fell in love with her. The next day we drove out to Cliffs of Moher for the day and Paul recommended a phenomenal seafood restaurant called Monks for dinner. His recommendation was awesome and had the best seafood chowder ever. When we returned we had a quick panic because we had locked ourselves out but Paul was very quick fo respond and help us even though it was after dark. Overall, we had a truly wonderful experience and cannot recommend enough! Thank you again Joan and Paul. You’re place is something we’ll talk about for years to come as part of our honeymoon.

  • The Stable is a perfect getaway for anyone looking to explore the West of Ireland. The cottage is full of charm and warmth. The space is a very cosy environment to avoid some Irish weather, and if you're lucky the local cat will swing by to say hi. There's also a very charming woodburning stove in the house that you can lose hours lounging in front of. I'd recommend the Stable to anyone looking for a basecamp to retreat to while exploring the Burren or Cliffs of Moher. Alternatively if you're in the market for a quiet weekend away from it all, this is the ideal spot.

  • We wanted an authentic Irish experience. Paul and Joan’s place cannot be any more authentic. It’s serene and beautiful Irish country setting was breathtaking. The cottage was immaculate and warm. When we arrived, the fire had been stoked. Paul and Joan were available for anything we needed. We could not have asked for a better experience.

    Heidi2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was just as picture perfect in person as in the pictures. The fire was lighting on arrival with eggs and butter in the fridge along with the addition of cheese and crackers!! You can also cook there with lots of bits and bobs in the cupboards to help you along the way. The cottage is super clean and has all the amenities. The trip was seamless and I would highly recommend.

  • If you dont stay here then you are truly missing out!!!!! Right from the start Joan communicated with us making sure we were greeted and welcomed to their beautiful home with detailed directions and instructions. The cottage is so perfectly appointed with everything you need for a cozy and warm stay. When we arrived, Joan had left eggs, milk, butter and jam for us so we would have a nice breakfast on our first morning! She will even help you with local tips for travel, sights to see and step by step directions so you are ensured to have the BEST experience. On one of our nights, she made sure we came home to a nice cozy fire and some delicious homemade goodies to enjoy! We felt as though we had stepped into a storybook! If we ever have the pleasure of being back in Ireland again, there is no other place I would stay!!!!! Joan and Paul are truly gems!

Lovely snacks left out and plenty of wood for the fire. Local village is also so cute and Joan took time to give tips on village. Everything was 100% perfect! Thank you Joan!

  • Cute house in nice location close to Shannon Airport (we flew out in the morning, about 30 min drive). Wonderful breakfast! Hope to be back in the future. If I would have arrived earlier, I would have definitely tried their home cooked dinner. Nice quiet location. Thank you for the stay!

  • Padraic and Gianna are natural and wonderful hosts, who will make you feel instantly welcome. We made a last minute decision to stay the night in the area and they were very accommodating for the last minute booking. They are also very generous with their time, with Padraic showing us their garden and mushroom haul from the day of foraging. We were surprised at how large the guest room is (the photos don’t do it justice) and all the amenities are great. The couch and bed are very comfy and the shower is hot and good pressure. Gianna cooked up a hot breakfast and very kindly made it a vegetarian feast for us - a delicious way to start the day. Thanks again for having us!

    Charli2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Padraic and Gianna have a beautiful home and were the loveliest hosts! Staying with them was a highlight of our trip. The room was big and clean and comfortable, with a nice deck and multiple skylights that allow you to fall asleep to the sound of rain. There was coffee/tea provided, cool books about the region/Ireland. And the dogs—they were adorable! There is a new puppy who is a doll, always demanding love. We opted to do the dinner, and would highly recommend it! All the fruits and veggies were grown by Padraic and Gianna, and everything was so fresh and flavorful! Our dinner consisted of cucumbers and baba ganoush, fresh tomatoes and mozzarella, pasta with ragu, and coq au vin for the main course, plus a couple other sides (bread, mashed potatoes, fresh hazelnuts, etc). Everything was delicious and it was a lot of food. They also prepare a delicious and big breakfast, which included bacon, eggs, toast, croissants, juice, coffee, tea, etc. We enjoyed the breakfast and sitting around talking to Gianna before hitting the road. If you are looking for a unique Airbnb experience with friendly hosts and you are ok with a remote location (no easy access to pubs and restaurants), this place is not to be missed!

    Corinna2018-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice house with an authentic thatched roof out in the country. Expect a narrow one-lane road to get to it, but it’s manageable. Our room was upstairs with very neat skylights that let in light and made for a very nice space. Gianna’s food was glorious and we were very satisfied when we left each morning. Other than that, we had an easy drive to the Cliffs of Moher, Limerick, and anything else in that area. This made for a nice place to stay.

    Alexandria2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We were expecting a lovely stay, but this was even better. Padraic and Jenna were the perfect mix of helpful without being intrusive, and just plain thoughtful. Take them up on the home-grown, home-cooked meal... it was damn good.

    Holly2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We (53 & 49) have been with Gianna and Padraic for a week. It was just nice to have met the two and can only recommend to be pampered with a sensational breakfast.

  • Loved the stay, hot tub was great add to the stay and the place is so modern with its fittings whilst been rustic in appearance. We stayed in winter and can confirm it is very warm and cosy. Would be perfect for couples or small familys .

  • Amazing hosts, very helpful. Great place to stay, nespresso machine sauna and hot tub are a huge bonus. Basic essentials provided. I took a wrong turn on the way and ended up stuck in a ditch, hosts came and got me out, really appreciated. Would definitely stay again.

    Rachael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super cute and cozy, everything was really clean and with all the services that you need. They left milk and bread for breakfast. The jacuzzi and the sauna are fab. We will repeat for sure, such an amazing experience in a really nice spot in the countryside, for disconnect your mind is brilliant.

    Cristina2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Milking Parlour was a great place to stay. It’s exactly as advertised and Steve was very accommodating (apologies again for getting the car stuck). There are a lot of nice touches around the house including the stove and the hot water bottles and having the hot tub/sauna is a great flourish. A lot of thought went into the house and it shows.

    Kieran2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Came in for a night in February, it had been a cold and rainy day. Steve had the fire going for us. It was nice to come into. We also had some basic breakfast supplies left such as coffee/tea, fresh eggs from their chickens, bread, and extras. It was a nice set up and private. It's in the country, so great for peace.

    Natasha2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very relaxing and tranquil spot. Great hosts that allowed for total privacy while still being close by if we might have needed anything. The separate jacuzzi and sauna are a really nice touch. If you want somewhere to go to switch off, this is the place to go. Would be very happy to stay here again!

    Joe2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It is a very lovely spot for couples or two people. Jess and Steve, were very good hosts, who answered all the questions and requests we had. The building had English connects for the plug sockets, which was a blessing and the Rayburn was great at keeping the place warm. The hot tube was lovely and we took full advantage of this facility.

    Jess2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay at Steve's place!! Its an Oasis for complete relaxation! We arrived and lit the stove straight away before having a dip in the hot tub. The milking parlour is so cozy and is finished with lovely touches. Will definitely be back.

  • A fabulous house in a very peaceful location. Noelle was very welcoming and ensured that we had all we needed during our stay. A severe storm meant that we were confined to the cottage for an entire day, but there were ample books for us, and toys for our young daughter, to keep us entertained. The house has a lovely atmosphere and is warm and cosy, with a very well-equipped kitchen. It is also kept spotlessly clean. We will certainly be recommending this cottage to friends and family.

  • Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cottage. It truly is on a farm, very much off the beaten path, and after a number of days surrounded by tourists it was great to disconnect a bit. The hosts were amazing, giving us some great tips and leaving some delicious eggs and homemade breads. Definitely hope to return at some point.

The yurt was very cozy, comfortable beds and the little fire place was perfect. Nick was very welcoming when we arrived! The animals on the property were wonderful to see also!

  • The hosts are welcoming, discreet and attentive. The place is EXCEPTIONAL !!! To redo. Thank you again for all

    Nicolas2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Would definitely recommend to either a couple or small family for a different experience. We weren't blessed with good weather so couldn't take advantage of the campfire or explore too much but can certainly say that with the stove lit in the yurt we were as cosy as could be. Fab kitchen hut, fun loo and shower facilities. Comfy beds, few toys and dvds if needed for kids which was a lovely thought. Felt like a private space even though nick was just next door. Would definitely recommend.

    Angela2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to be at one with nature, with all the comforts, stay in Nick's yurt. It's peaceful with all the conveniences you need. Just make sure you have all you need with you because once you get to the yurt and light the stove, it will be difficult to pull yourself away from the relaxation it offers. Cooking facilities in the adjacent kitchenette so no need to eat out 😊

    Eileen2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful yurt is nestled in the large peaceful woodland grounds of the owners house. The yurt itself was so relaxing to stay in and had the most comfortable mattresses of our entire trip. We were so impressed with everything about this stay! There is electric to the yurt, which was good for us with hyperactive young children! There is no WiFi in the yurt, which was great for getting back to basics. But WiFi is available at the house, which we needed for planning our trip etc. The little ‘kitchen shed’ is adjacent to the yurt, with a covered dining area outside. The kitchen has everything you need plus a couple of gas hobs, a sink with running water and a cool box. There is a fridge freezer in an out building close by. The toilet is a composting toilet and is a short walk (~10 meters!) from the yurt. It’s amazing! Eco friendly, yet clean and not smelly! The shower and a second toilet are in another specially built wood shack. The shower is incredible - instant power and heat the moment you turn it on! All of these things have been hand built by the owner, Nick, which makes it even more impressive and special. Despite being in the grounds of the owners property, we always felt like we had our own little private piece of the Irish countryside to relax in. Nick and family were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, without encroaching on our privacy. They have a lovely little dog too, who our children really enjoyed visits from! (I’m sure they’d make sure the dog stayed away if dogs aren’t your thing). They also have a pony and a donkey, which again the kids loved visiting. Nick and family had some great suggestions for things for u to do in the area - Craggaunowen castle and open air archaeological museum was fantastic! We were also lucky enough to be there when Feakle Irish folk music festival was on, so we got to experience some traditional Irish music during our stay. Our one regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We had a great time at the yurt, and would have liked to explore the grounds and surrounding woodland more. It was so tranquil, a beautiful escape between two city stays in Belfast and Dublin. And so much more comfortable than the hotel beds too! Highly recommended :)

  • The yurt stands on its own lawn with a separate kitchen, toilet and shower. Lots of greenery and a campfire place. Peacefully quiet. The dog could say goodbye regularly. We have a nice walk and swam in the neighborhood. Great place! But we also had nice weather.

  • Had a wonderful time in the Thatched Cottage. Located in a beautiful setting. So peaceful and tranquil. Everything you would expect from a typical Irish country cottage filled with every amenity you would need. A perfect place to get away from it all. Would highly recommend. 👍

  • Great, very special accommodation in the middle of the Irish countryside! Extremely nice hostess! Their tip for driving to Feakle in Pepper's Pub for live music was great! Christoph and Birgit

  • We enjoyed out time away on our honeymoon at Hilary's thatched cottage. Charming and rustic, Hilary's place is a quaint getaway from the city. We had a lovely time. Hilary and her husband are excellent hosts - they even gave us fresh-pressed apple cider/juice from their orchards (which was absolutely delicious). Her property as a whole is idyllic and would be a great place for someone looking to have a quiet retreat and relax. The only thing I would make sure that future guests know is that the main road Google Maps gives to get to Hilary's place (coming from the Galway) can be a bit narrow (hedges on both sides, infrequent shoulders) so make sure you figure out the routes you feel comfortable with to get there! But again, these types of roads (L roads in particular) are fairly common in the Irish countryside.

  • Quaint 200+ year old cottage tucked away in beautiful garden setting in east Clare. Simple furnishings in a clean rustic setting. We liked it because it was a easy 37minutes drive to Shannon airport. Our host Hillary was super responsive and added many extras which we appreciated. We loved it

  • This is a must stay if you want an amazing cottage in the woods. It is completely private surrounded by beautiful gardens, trees, a stream and a few animals. This 2 hundred year old cottage with thatched roof was amazing. A very unique experience that we hope to visit again on our next trip to Ireland. Chris

  • The cottage and garden form a lovely rustic retreat while touring the area. The hosts lit the fire upon our arrival and placed flowers from the garden in the rooms which made the place even more welcoming. Ambiance and area of great beauty, lovely areas in the garden to sit and relax and a lot of privacy.

  • Our short break was very restful, cosy and quite, what we needed for a short November stay. The cottage was clean, warm and well equipped. The fire, books and CD’s well received. All in all a lovely place to stay, with great hosts.

  • Noelle and Jason's cottage is like something out of a fairytale. Beautiful, quiet, cozy, very clean and easy to find with the given indications. Plus they were great hosts, helped us with everything and made sure we felt at home.

  • We had a great time at Noëlle and Jason! Their pretty cottage is located in lush greenery where it is good to rest! Upon arrival delicious homemade cakes were waiting for us! We highly recommend a stay at Noëlle and Jason :)

  • The scones and jam on arrival were such a nice touch. The place is so cute and perfect for two.

    Sarah2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful spot for our family. We had a young baby with us and Noelle provided a travel cot for us to use. Also we requested an early check in and Noelle communicated with us right away and was also able to make it happen. We arrived to a nice, clean house with scones and jam set up for us. It was about a 10-15 drive to Ennis on a small country road but we had no trouble. Noelle gave us some great tips for things to do and helped us beat the crowds at the Cliffs of Moher. Overall it was a great stay.

  • Without a doubt, the best place ive ever stayed. Completely picture-esque and breathtaking. I've just left and want to go back. Our host was incredible, from providing fresh irish soda bread, butter and milk, to her incredible store of knowledge that she bestowed upon us. Noreen, we'll be back :)

    Jessica2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Noreen's airbnb was wonderful. We had everything we needed, and when there was a problem with the 4G wifi box she funds a way to get us another one that worked perfectly very quickly. The place is very hard to find, but it was rewarding to find it ourself, before Noreen arrived to help us. Since the place is in the middle of nowhere, it was always quiet and relaxing. Even if there is no heating in the bedrooms in the summer, we had awesome heated mattresses that did the work. I recommend this airbnb !

    Camille2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Noreen is a amazing host. She went out of her way to come get us when we got lost trying to find the place for the first time. After a grueling travel day she had tea and scones waiting for us along with plenty of suggestions on what to do. Her home is in a lovely area and you really get the a chance to experience country living at its finest. If you want your own private get away on your trip to Ireland this is the house for you!

  • Had a fantastic stay at Noreens. It was so quiet and peaceful - loved to be outside and hear nothing but the birds singing. The house is more spacious than it looks, we loved the bright airy bedrooms. It’s an ideal base for exploring the area. Noreen was very helpful in suggesting places to see during our visit. I couldn’t fault our stay in any way, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommended it.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ireland and staying at noreens place was lovely. She was so helpful with sights to see. And even left us some fresh milk soda bread and butter that was definitely used. We would highly recommend staying with noreen for anyone who wishes to enjoy their stay in Ireland. Thankyou so much

  • Ardboula House is located in the Co. Clare farmland. Surrounded by pastured hills, wooded valleys, and hidden Irish gems not listed in all of the travel brochures but well worth your discovery. It is owned and operated by super hosts who will help you enjoy all there is to do in west central Ireland. From the ancient megalithic sites, the numerous medieval relics of castles and tower houses, to the beauty of natural Ireland's cliffs and hiking trails, lakes and seashore, mountains and forests. Ardboula House offers it all to you while giving you all of the comforts of home and more.

  • The home is lovely and located I The beautiful countryside for East Clare. Very close to Ennis, Tulla and Feakle while offering brief rides to the coast, Galway and Shannon. Christine greeted us and hade made a delicious leek soup for us to eat. We made great use of the vegetables and herbs in the garden. The home accommodated our party of six well and could have handled a few more. The layout permits those who wish to retire early to rest comfortably with no interruptions while others can still socialize in the front room. Overall, I highly recommend this home if you are seeking to stay in the Irish countryside.

  • The Ardboula farm house is completely remodeled and updated with elegance and beauty. We were in awe upon arrival! The pictures do not do it justice. The house is equipped with everything you need, including laundry, kitchenware, etc. The location is remote, but it's not too far from Ennis (15 minutes) and closer to other small towns like Tulla and Feakle. Both are great towns with great pubs and amazing people. The drive to Doolin to hike the Cliffs of Moher took 45 minutes, which was totally reasonable and took us through some lovely villages. Christine and Willy were great hosts. They met us shortly after arrival, gave us great advice about places to travel in the area (and even in Dublin), checked in on us to make sure we didn't need anything. We spent an evening with them learning how to sheaf toss and having a few drinks at the pub. We left Ardboula having made new friends. I would visit Ardboula again in a heartbeat. Thanks Christine, Willy, Georgia, Tristan, and Cassidy.

So remote and quiet, in the middle of nature preserved as it is. And there are many more animals too. If you are an animals lover you will feel like in heaven here. Trish and her family were lovely hosts and made sure we felt like home for a couple of days. Cannot recommend enough this place 😊

    Manon2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • If I was able to give 10 stars, I would !! We stayed 2 weeks at Theresa & Kieran's farm and it was an amazing experience, especially for my three daughters (ages 14, 11, and 7). They had so much fun petting the horses and running around with the dogs !! Theresa brought us freshly baked cookies and muffins several times, a beautiful and homey (and very tasty) touch ! She made us feel so comfortable from the moment we arrived that it felt as though we'd known her for years. I have a lot of family in Ireland, and the way Theresa interacted with my girls reminded me of how my own Aunts interact with them... just like family !! The morning we were leaving for Shannon airport, we left behind my seven year old daughter's carry-on at Theresa's, a backpack that had all of her stuffed animals in.... stuffed animals sorely needed since my daughter was crying that she had to leave Miss Pip (the puppy) !! We figured it out only after we arrived at Shannon airport and decided to send Theresa some money and have it shipped over to us in New York... Minutes later, we see Theresa coming through the airport with the bag !! She drove the 20-25 minutes and brought it to us !!! We will definitely be back and highly recommend others to stay as well - Thank you again Theresa !!!

To the front of this property is a pretty enclosed garden and to the rear, through the sliding doors in the living area, are pure, uninterrupted, countryside views so you can enjoy a refreshing drink after a full day of sightseeing. The quiet fishing village of Tulla nestles amongst excellent lakes and rich, green countryside and has been a magnet for anglers from all over.
Quiet, peaceful, friendly farming community. Don't be shy about asking the locals about the best local fishing spots, walking trails, castles etc.

  • We had a very pleasant experience at Patrick's cottage. The cottage is a great location for exploring East Clare. The large living/kitchen/dining area is perfect for entertaining. We had a very late check-in and Patrick made sure the key was easy to find and the house was ready.

  • First things first: an absolutely brilliant shower. 5 stars for the shower alone. Lots of lovely animals to fuss, alpaca, calf, donkey, dogs, chickens, pigs, lambs - a proper farm! Trish was really helpful when recommending nearby restaurants. The cooked breakfast was fantastic, and it was so kind of Trish to personalise it for every guests needs! WiFi quite slow and patchy, but otherwise a very pleasant stay.

  • What a gem! Patricia was wonderful. Great travel advice (12 O'Clock Hills nearby are magical.) Farm animals. Puppies. A huge breakfast of farm fresh food. Yeah, it's a little out of the way (what isn't in Ireland) but we loved it there.

  • I had a wonderful time staying at this bed and breakfast. I am new to air bnb and was absolutely delighted by my experience here. Staying here was one of the best experiences of my entire 3 week trip to Ireland, and I look forward to coming back. The hospitality was exceptional, the location is great, the farm animals were so great to spend time with, and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Thank You! I'll be back.

Nestled between the villages of Feakle and Tulla, this little gem is a clean & spacious contempory studio room with a private ensuite. Accommodation includes a king size bed and a single folding bed. A perfect base to explore East Clare and beyond.
A beautiful space in the heart of the East Clare Countryside. Perfect for a quite getaway with access to local walks and traditional Irish music with easy access to Ennis, Shannon, Galway and Limerick.
This really is a very enchanting part of Ireland. East Clare is well known for its relaxing rolling hills, stunning walks, dotted with lakes for swimming and fishing. The neighbours, both the two legged and four legged couldn't be friendlier. There are live traditional music sessions in the local pubs a couple of nights during the week that also serve food.
