Places to stay in Torver
The Lake District is a World Heritage Site, and High Park is located in the most beautiful part of the area. This former farmhouse, once owned by Beatrix Potter, is situated on the Cumbria Way. The views are fantastic and at night, the silence is total. Although your bedroom is quite small, we do offer a King size double bed with a TV and a small fridge. You have your own private bathroom with great water pressure and piping hot water. We cook your breakfast how you like it - just ask!
We only let one room - with its own bathroom - so you will be our only guests. Your room has a king size bed, a HD TV, a small fridge and free WiFi. Your bathroom has both a bath and shower. A downstairs room is available, both for breakfast and for you to relax in at any time. We work very hard to keep our house squeaky clean too! Extraordinary silence at night, coupled with a true dark sky, make staying at High Park a unique experience.
We are in a secluded valley, but right in the middle of the Lake District. We offer peace and tranquility - and as one of our friends said recently, 'Probably the best view from a garden to be found in England'. The down side of this is that if you are looking for excitement and things to do in the evening, High Park might not be a good choice for you. There are two pubs within reasonable walking distance (20 - 30 minutes) and they serve evening meals and bar snacks. Because there is no street lighting, we are happy to provide you with a flashlight! Both Ambleside and Coniston (approx 5 miles away) offer a wide variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
  • Couldn’t fault!! Tony & Wendy were lovely hosts with great knowledge of the area. We followed all of their advice and it didn’t disappoint! They have a beautiful home in a picturesque spot - so peaceful I had the best nights sleep in months. But even without all of that, just Wendy’s breakfasts would have been worth the visit! I would thoroughly recommend!!

  • I had such a pleasant and rewarding first visit to the Lake District, thanks to Wendy and Tony for giving me a comfortable, welcoming, and safe place to start and end my day. Wendy’s breakfast was bountiful and delicious and Tony had great tips for both walking and driving routes. The house itself is so cute and clean. My favorite walk started right there. Will most definitely return!

  • Tony and Wendy were excellent hosts. My brother and I loved the generous hospitality and how helpful the hosts were with hiking recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and the overall experience was comfortable, unique and delightful. Thank you so much.

  • Excellent location with beautiful views. Wendy and Tony really make you feel welcome and will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is a pleasant one. Their knowledge of the lakes as well as their lovely warm and comfortable cottage really does make your stay at the lakes a relaxing and pleasant one.

  • Wendy and tony have a great welcome to their special home. The setting is perfect for access to the mountains and a warm and cosy room to come back to at the end of the day. The breakfast was sensational and set me up perfectly for a day on the fells. I would heartily recommend this stay.

  • My stay could not have been better. The English breakfast was delicious, it was lovely to be welcomed by some tea and cake after each walk, Wendy and Tony were very welcoming and gave great information to have some amazing walks. I highly recommend staying here!

  • The bed is amazing, the shower was brilliant, and the walks around the area are absolutely breathtaking (rain or shine, I walked in both!).

    Stacey2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for Wendy’s and Tony’s hospitality! They are so kind and friendly, providing insightful instruction of the itinerary and the best British breakfast!

  • A really lovely place with everything you could need, including home made cake when you arrive after a long journey! Howard came to say hello and explain everything when we arrived, and made us feel really welcome. The area is beautiful. A bit off the beaten track for the Lake District but plenty to do. Just wish we had been there for longer than a weekend. Special mention for the Square Cafe in Broughten....get yourself down there for a full English!

  • An outstanding location and staff. We stayed for two nights and love the place so much. Jonathan, Georgina, Craig, and others were excellent, funny, and attentive. My spouse and I visited with our 11 and 9 year olds and they enjoyed as well.

    Brian2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night and we’ve been very happy. Our room was facing the lake and we couldn’t have asked for a better view. The location is perfect, has access on the lake, the B&B is very cosy, Jonathon and the staff are very friendly. Recommended!

    Stefano2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathon's place was fantastic. I arrived to a plate of home baked scones with jam and cream! The loft was spacious and clean with plenty of fire wood for the wood stove. The bed was comfortable and the farm was peaceful - I came away feeling completely relaxed. The location had proximity to everything I needed! I highly recommend Jonathon's place and will definitely stay there again the next time I am in Cumbria.

Great value for money.

  • Lovely little place to stay with very froendly and helpful hosts. Easy to get to and find. Private hot tub is lovely to have access to and with it normally having a gazebo over, useable in almost any weather! Very comfy bed and cozy sofa to curl up on. The only things I'd change/add is a few more/new utensils in the kitchen (e.g. tongs for cooking and sharp knives) and curtains for the 2 doors. Just to make it that bit cozier when it's dark. We will be keeping in mind for future Lake District adventures!

A beautiful little cottage, totally refurbished in 2015 with a hot tub in the garden & outdoor seating , views to Coniston Old Man, we are located at the heart of Torver Village, next to the famous Wilson Arms. For many years the family have been providing good food, refreshments and excellent hospitality in Torver , and now restored and refurbished this little old cottage to a high standard. Food and refreshments are easily accessible with the pub & deli shop just next door
  • Lovely cute cottage in Torver close to other villages which was helpful as only connected to one other pub. If you’re wanting to cook your own visit a food shop before as the only close shop is the Co Operative which hasn’t got a lot in it. The walks were beautiful and the hot tub was a great touch after a long day of hiking. It’s beautifully designed and clean perfect for a romantic or family get away.

  • A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. The cottage has great amenities and was fully of nice little touches; the private hot tub was fab. We also had lunch/dinner at the pub next door which had a great atmosphere and allowed dogs. The deli linked to the cottage is great too bad with fantastic local produce perfect to take out waking. Definitely recommended and we will hopefully return.

We fell in love with this place the moment we arrived. The peace of the area gave us a chance to relax in the beautiful surroundings. Close by, the lake, hills and mountains gave us the chance to have some adventures. Our Lake District cottage is one of four properties that were once the mill in Water Yeat. It has an open kitchen dining room which makes a great space to relax. The living room has a wood burning stove, vaulted ceiling and large windows with views over the hamlet and countryside.
Our cottage has: An open kitchen diner with electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A living room with two sofas, satellite TV, DVD and wood-burning stove. 1 double bedroom with king-size bed 1 double bedroom with double day bed Bathroom with bath and separate shower Hallway Parking for two vehicles Garden and patio
We live in a small hamlet with lovely views and walks and cycle rides in all directions. Walk straight onto the nearby hills, down to the river or along to the lake Coniston Water. Nearby are the villages of Coniston and Hawkshead, the higher Lakeland mountains and Brantwood, the home of John Ruskin. A little further are Ambleside, Windermere, Langdale and Grasmere. The area has many great cafes and pubs serving local produce. For the more adventurous there is great mountain walking, climbing, mountain biking, canoeing and sailing close by, independently or with local adventure companies.
  • Had a perfect week with our 2 beagles, garden perfect for them to run around in. Cottage has everything we needed and will definitely be coming back

  • Wonderfully clean, warm and welcoming space! Parking available directly outside, and we didn't use the car at all over our long weekend stay, as walks with our dog took us out and about to Ambleside and Windermere. Loved the new shower room, ample hot water, lovely kitchen space for cooking after long days of gorgeous walks, and close to two fab pubs, The Black Bull and The Ship. The bed is huge and comfy! Stuart and Sandy made us and Cera so welcome. We arrived in the dark, after a long drive, but no problem. Thank you, we feel so rested.

I live in a cosy townhouse in the heart of Ulverston. The town is bustling with twice-weekly markets, regular festivals, carnivals and events, and a wonderful nightlife, whilst being perfectly located on the edge of The Lake District. 30 minutes drive from Junction 36 of the M6, or 5 minutes walk from Ulverston station, which is an easy transfer from the West Coast Main Line. The room has a modern double bed, a basic wardrobe with hanging and shelf storage, a bedside table and reading lamp.
Guests have a comfortable and newly furnished room overlooking the town, and The Hoad monument. The nearest pub is about 20 paces away, with over a dozen within a five minute walk. Many have live music, quizzes, and a wide range of local beers on tap. My kitchen/diner and living room are available for your use, and you can make yourself at home with these.
The Hoad monument is only a 25 minute walk from my front door, with views across the fells of the Lake District, and towards Morecambe and Blackpool on a clear day.
  • Very central and nice, clean room.

  • Loved my stay here, Sarah as a fab host, she thought of everything and the barn is immaculate. I particularly enjoyed the view from the bedroom window in the morning. It's epic! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cosy place to stay in the lakes.

    Dom2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Sarah's place! It's about a 45m walk to reach Ulverston, which was mostly downhill so quite easy. If travelling on a busy weekend you need to book restaurants and taxis in advance - we didn't manage to book the restaurant we wanted as Ulverston got incredibly busy on the bank holiday weekend.

    El2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do this place justice- it's a lot bigger and more luxurious than we expected! It is a clean and comfy home and Sarah has thought of everything you could possibly need. The location is a short drive from the lakes, but handy for access to more amenities in Ulverston.

    Vera2019-08-19T00:00:00Z

  • We had an amazing time, and wish we could have stayed longer! Beautiful location and cozy space with everything we needed. It was a bit hard to find, so would recommend giving yourself lots of time, reviewing directions, and arriving before dark.

    Lauren2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a cottage in the middle of the Lake District with beautiful views, walks from the back door and a bit of peace a quiet (with the exception of a few sheep) then I would highly recommend this lovely little cottage. The drive in alone is stunningly beautiful and the hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. The cottage itself is well equipped with cooking equipment and there’s plenty of room for two people in the two floor space. Everything was clean and worked well. Even the WiFi was surprisingly good, which is required, because your phone signal will be non-existent. It rained the whole time for us, but we still loved it and managed to get out and about plenty of times.

    Oliver2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place in a beautiful area, the check in was easy and Stuart & Lynda were very hospitable. The accommodation itself was clean and had all the amenities to self cater. Would definitely recommend this for anybody looking to explore the south and western lakes.

    Olly2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • There isn’t much we can write here that hasn’t already been said about this magical cottage. From the coziness of it, the hospitality of the hosts, to the location within Lake District National Park, this stay is absolutely amazing. The fact that you can step out of your front door and begin a long walk within the park is priceless. This is made even easier by the fact that Stuart & Lynda provide a book outlining such walks. This may just be our favorite AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. Do yourself a favor and book for an extra night because you won’t want to leave.

    Kyle2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely beautiful little cottage. The photos don't do it justice. The sofa was perfect for cuddling and the bed was perfect for snuggling. Well stocked kitchen with everything and anything you could need though we spent so much time out enjoying the landscape I think we only used the teaspoons! ☕ Nice hot shower after a day of walking, though you might need to mind your head if you are 6ft+ as there is a beautiful beam over the bath, for us short stacks it was a nice feature that added to the character of the place 🥰 Stuart and Lynda have made up the most convenient booklet with all the information you could ever need and it made our stay effortless. Our favourite touch is the little book of walks detailing 6 of the best walks door to door, we'll have to stay again to do some more! We adored our time in this sweet place and even with winter weather the views were incredible. It was so peaceful and quiet! The only sounds were of the little birds outside, especially the very friendly Mr Robin who was happy to be provided breakfast on the doorstep. Looking forward to our next trip to the Lakes if we can stay in Stuart and Lynda's place again!

  • This is our second visit to ringhouse cottages and it was just as beautiful as we remember. 20 mins drive away from Conniston it is the perfect location for us but still secluded and quiet which we love. Stablecroft was cute, cosy and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. The bed was super comfy and the room a good size. The place was cleaned and tidied to a high standard. We love everything about it and will definitely be back again in the future.

A romantic, stylish and cosy cottage for two in the beautiful Lake District National Park, half a mile form the shores of Lake Windermere and 15 minutes drive from Junction 36 of the M6. We've recently completed a top-to-toe renovation of our 250 year old cottage, giving the place a modern rustic feel. There are many wonderful walks and bike rides available right from the front door and some great gastropubs nearby - plus the 2 Michelin starred L'Enclume restaurant just a few miles away.
Free BT super-fast WiFi. Charging point for electric vehicle. Smart TV with FreeSat. 15 minutes drive from Junction 36 of M6. LGBTQ friendly. Dog friendly. We can organise fun things for a special occasion, including champagne and local handmade chocolates - please just ask.
Lake Windermere is a short walk from our front door, accessed via the National Trust's Fell Foot Park. Newly opened Active Base centre at Fell Foot offers a range of watersports. Across the lake at Lakeside is the Haverthwaite Steam Railway, the Lakes Aquarium and you can take the passenger ferry around England's largest lake with Windermere Lake Cruises.
  • I booked Loveday cottage for my parents for a weekend, and they have had the most amazing time. They have asked me to pass on their review! They said that Loveday cottage was a piece of paradise! Everything is of a very high quality and would recommend to anyone! Also Emma and Gregor very kindly left some homemade brownies, that my mum said were the best she ever had!! Thank you!

  • So lovely and cosy. Probably the best bath, I‘ve ever had.

  • Back to reality after what was the most relaxing and tranquil weekend. Loveday was just perfect for what we needed and exceeded all expectations. The perfect place to unwind and put your feet up after long walks and breathtaking scenery, all a stones throw from the cottage. Thank you for making our weekend so special.

    Rhys2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully thought out accommodation, with plenty of little touches. The bath is simply amazing! Struggled to decide between soaking away the evening or curled up in front of the log burner. Fully equipped and spotless kitchen with underfloor heating. We had an amazing weekend away and very glad we decided to stay here. Excellent hosts.

  • This cottage has everything you want! It’s Spacious, very clean, well equipped, cosy fire, amazing wooden bath and the best homemade brownies we’ve ever had. It has country walks just down the road and is in a good location for driving round to all the lakes. I would recommend to anyone wanting a cosy get away.

Our home is in the hamlet where Arthur Ransome, author of 'Swallows & Amazons' spent his childhood holidays. Today it still retains its charm, even in high summer. We are a stone's throw from the lake, with woodlands & waterfalls on our doorstep.
We have 2 lovely guest bedrooms, each with king-size beds, sharing a spacious bathroom. (We often only have one guest group at a time but on busy weekends you may have to share the facilities.) I provide fresh towels, shower & bath products, wifi access & tea/coffee making facilities in your room. You can enjoy your buffet breakfast either in the kitchen by the Aga, or outside if the weather is nice. You are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare your packed lunch or a simple evening meal though of course you may prefer to visit one of the local pubs or restaurants; the nearest pub is the Red Lion ( a gentle 2 mile walk away if you're feeling energetic!)
If you want to leave the car behind, just step out of the door! Explore the small pebbled beaches and coves at the southern end of the lake by foot or on your bike. The lovely National Trust steam boat 'Gondola' plies the lake and you can have a leisurely cruise, or perhaps visit Brantwood, the home of John Ruskin for over 30 years. If you want to climb the fells, the Old Man of Coniston and other famous Lakeland peaks are just up the road.

Unique double room with its own private entrance in the heart of the Lake District.
A private double room with a king sized bed and private bathroom, the Suite has it's own private entrance.
The bungalow is just s few minutes from the village centre. There are plenty of eating places such as pubs and cafes along with a co op, bakers and butcher shop. There are also many opportunities for walking and cycling in the area.
  • The room is private and had everything we need to rest after exploring this area of the Lake District. The location is great: there are a few places to eat (short walk distance) nearby and a short drive from beautiful places (like the Grizedale forest). Rachel and Ian were great hosts and very helpful getting us familiar with the area and the best places to go.

    Marisol2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We have just enjoyed a wonderful two night stay in Rachel's lovely accommodation. It is well situated, just a two minute stroll from the centre of Coniston and is ideal for exploring the area. The room is very clean, warm and beautifully presented. We wouldn't hesitate in booking again! As a side note, we would recommend the Yewdale Inn for food (fabulous pizzas!)

    Stephen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at Rachel’s place. The private space was beautiful set up for anything you could possibly want/need. Rachel was considerate and thoughtful with some of the warmest hospitality we’ve had. The location is perfect for any Lake District adventure as well as cosy nights in the local. No negatives to this experience.

  • Great hospitality in a beautiful place

  • Spacious room with nice area for relaxing rather than having to sit on the bed. Good area between room and bathroom for coats, bags etc . thoughtful touches for example, tray for muddy boots to dry. Nicely decorated and very clean. Just a great place. Very central to walk into coniston but also quiet

    Lindsey2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was lovely and the room was great. It was really cosy and the location was great for us - really easy access to the lakeside and the trails around Coniston. Coniston had plenty of choice for food and it all looked pretty good. We ended up eating at the Bluebird cafe on the lakeside. We didn't have time to visit the museums and things in the village, but there was a lot more than we expected to keep us busy. The room itself was spacious and Rachel left a kettle, tea and coffee. The shower was lovely after a cold day out. We were there to be outdoors, but if you need it then the wifi connection was excellent and the tv was good to collapse in front of at the end of the day. There's a good size room between the bedroom and bathroom that made an excellent 'dressing' room. Parking on the drive was easy, the views right out of the window were lovely, the area was very quiet, arriving and checking out were super straightforward and Rachel let us know she was there if needed. The stay was perfect.

My place is situated in the heart of the Duddon Valley in South Cumbria. It is a beautiful valley that lends itself to walking, cycling, canoeing and rock climbing amongst other things. We are a newly renovated Bed and Breakfast that offers a stunning location and views. The room has a super king sized bed or can be converted into a twin room depending on your requirements. We have 2 other rooms under separate listings. There are no pets on the premises.
The room has a super King size double bed but it can also be used as a twin room depending on your requirements. The room has an en-suite toilet/shower, Sky freeview box, DVD player, tea and coffee making facilities and complementary dressing gown and slippers for use during your stay.
The valley does not have any tourist attractions therefore is the perfect place for a quiet retreat. On some walks you my not see another person all day.
  • Very much enjoyed my stay at the Travellers' Lodge. Alwyn and Peter are great hosts: nothing was too much trouble for them. They have excellent local knowledge, the room was immaculate and very comfortable and a breakfast fit for a king. Great value and lovely people. Thank you.

  • Myself and my partner had the pleasure of staying at this lovely B&B for only one night, we wish it could have been longer! Alwyn’s place is set in the most picturesque valley and her home is so welcoming. She is such a lovely and bubbly host with a great knowledge of her local area and is keen to ensure her guests enjoy their stay in full. I will 100% be back again! Thank you Alwyn!

Thanks for a fantastic stay!

My Log Cabin is warm and comfortable and is situated at the end of a farm track, with wonderful views.
Open countryside with amazing views, The log cabin will sleep up to 4 people, with double and twin bedrooms. Shower, wash hand basin and toilet, heating - electric heaters. No extra charge for electric. Colour TV with DVD player and radio. Fully equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. Unfortunately there is very little mobile coverage in this area, and none at your accommodation due to the local terrain.

  • We spent 3 nights at Jans Cabin from Christmas Eve. We are a couple from Central London so very much looking for a remote, yet cosy Christmas get away. On arrival Jan had left us a mini bottle of Prosecco, chocolates and a Christmas card - a lovely touch. The cabin absolutely exceeded our expectations. It is much bigger than the photos show! Perfectly clean and so cosy. We made a huge Christmas roast, using only what was already provided in the kitchen and there was nothing we needed although, Jan did say she was on hand if we did need anything. The surroundings are beautiful, at night it is totally silent and pitch black, a contrast to the busy road we live on for sure! The lack of WiFi/signal didn’t concern us. The cabin has a puzzle, scrabble and some books. It was lovely to disconnect and enjoy a slower pace. We had such a great time. I can only imagine it will be booked up all year round. We would love to come back for Summer. Thanks again Jan!

    Scarlett2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very high quality cabin! Spotless and with a cozy and homely feel! Kitchen is stocked up apart from everything else. The host was very helpful and sweet in making sure the cabin was all warm by the time we arrived. Ready to answer any questions too. My favourite aspect is the big windows that give you the impression you are part of the stunning outdoor nature 🙂 Will definitely book again!

  • The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and more spacious than the photos suggest. The views from the decking are wonderful and the log cabin is in a very private and very quiet location. Although secluded, the directions given were very clear and we were able to find the property easily. Our communications with Jan were good.

  • Stayed for 1 night while completing in a 2 day motorcycle event in the area. I didn't really know what to expect but the photos don't do the place justice. The hall is beautiful building on a fully working farm. Although the weather wasn't great the views over the fells is outstanding. The bedroom was a perfect size with beautiful 4 poster bed. A spacious bathroom with a shower &jacuzzi bath and even a sauna, although i didn't try this. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. All in all a fantastic value stay. Hopefully return again in the future.

    Marty2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is quite rare. A beautiful location if you looking for quiet rural seclusion in a genuine traditional farmhouse which is still a working farm. Track is a bit rough but no problems even with a low ground clearance vehicle, just take it slowly. Highly recommended.

    Kevin2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely farmhouse in the middle of nowhere (exactly what I wanted!!!). Fantastic views, great breakfasts, excellent advice on things to see locally. The driveway up is fine if you go very very slowly, might get the odd cow stood in your way though :)

    Fiona2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The rooms are excellent. Large, with very comfortable beds. The bathrooms were sumptuous. An excellent breakfast, with views right across the bay to Barrow in Furness. The house is C16th, and has amazing woodwork and furniture.

    David2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • A great experience in a farm house retaining original wood panelling and staircase from 18th century? The four poster bed was exceedingly comfortable. Great value and a warm welcome

    Paul2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was a wonderful host, flexible and welcoming. The room was nice and spacious, and overall a nice pleasant stay at the house.

    Alessandro2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice big double bedroom and huge en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath, shower and sauna. Elizabeth was very friendly and welcoming and made us a great cooked breakfast each morning. Would suggest a 4x4 for the road leading up to the farm! Very fun but bumpy drive

A review from January 2020 from Mr Buckle “We would highly recommend The Apartment, Betty Fold. The apartment itself is just lovely, the facilities were great and the owners were friendly, welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The Apartment is located in beautiful grounds with fabulous views of the Lakes countryside, and the location was perfect for stunning walks around the Tarn Hows area. The village of Hawkshead itself is down the hill, a nice walk, especially if you take the path along the river, or a 2 minute drive. We had a lovely few days in January and will definitely be going again." In April 2019 Mr York wrote “This was a fantastic 7 days stay. Hawkshead is only 1.5 miles away, with plenty of places to eat. Central to all the usual Lake District attractions. The apartment had all we would want. Bedding, towels, dishes and kitchen utensils. Idyllic setting with NO car noise. Just birds singing, a Woodpecker, a small deer, pheasants and an occasional badger. Completely peaceful"
Betty Fold Apartment is in the tiny hamlet of Hawkshead Hill close to the picturesque Tarn Hows and the honey pot village of Hawkshead with it's connections to William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. There are many and varied pubs, cafes and restaurants within a shorts drive from from Betty Fold and the owners will be pleased to advise.
  • We stayed here for my husbands 50th. It was perfect for us and our dog with wet and muddy kit. We did some lovely walks locally and a bit further a field. Claire and her husband were very helpful. Shame there isn’t a large supermarket close by, I would advise people wanting to eat in to do a big shop on route as it’s expensive shopping in Hawkshead or Ambleside as they only have express shops and hike the prices in them. Hope to rerun in warmer weather.

    Elizabeth2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic apartment. Great views, very cosy and comfortable, well equipped and very relaxing atmosphere.

  • We had a fabulous stay at Betty Fold. Everything was as described - the appartment was very comfortable, clean, and well equipt. The hosts were very friendly and approachable. The location was perfect - stunnig views. A 20 minute stroll to Tarn Haws, 40 minute stroll to Hawkshead and 10 minute drive to Coniston and Ambleside. We loved it and would go again.

As for the accommodation, in no particular order: the room was luxurious and comfy; the shower was super powerful and hot (perfect after a long walk); the breakfasts were delicious and huge; the wifi was fast; and Alwyn and Paul were really friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
