Old farmhouse built in 1800s on 200 acre old dairy farm (non working). Most of the house recently updated. On conservation land/working Christmas tree farm. Great hiking, sledding, XC& alpine skiing (close by). Large lake public beach 2 miles away. Dog friendly. WiFi /Direct TV/Fire Stx Keene, NH & Brattleboro, VT 15 minutes away. Mt Snow 36miles /Stratton 45miles. place has been in my family since the 1940s/ on old dirt road/ private/secluded getaway close to town(s)/minutes from RT 91
A rural setting, but close to two thriving communities (Brattleboro VT & Keene, NH). Family owned for 70 years. Beautiful place to spend some time.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Dan's unique farm house. The house is sat in several acres of land and although we were there in early march as the snow was melting it was still very picturesque. The house is accessed by about a mile of unpaved road that had some muddy spots (in early march so probably about as bad as it gets with snow melt) but we were fine in a heavy 2wd mini van. The house itself has been modernised in some areas but has retained some many of the original features. The house had everything needed for a comfortable stay and Dans communication was great. We will definitely stay again if we're in the area !

  • Dan’s farmhouse was the perfect romantic winter getaway. It offered everything you could expect from the cozy and warm setting of a family farmhouse to a fire going in the wood stove to the sprawling hills and pine trees of the property. It had the perfect home away from home feel. Meeting Dan and seeing his love for this place added the finishing touches along with the dozens of beautiful photos showing all the years and generations of love and family throughout the home. An essential and classic New England experience to the fullest. Can’t wait to go back!

  • I stayed with Michael for a month. The bedroom has a very comfortable bed, a tv, and a small couch. There is a full kitchen with everything you need for meal preparation. Michael was very respectful of my privacy, and responded to my messages very quickly. It doesn’t take more than 10 minutes to walk to Central Square and down Main Street where there are great restaurants, cute cafes, and specialty stores. I enjoyed my stay with him and would definitely stay with him again.

  • Everything here is exactly as advertised. Space was VERY clean and well appointed. Absolutely perfect size for a quick stay of up to 2 people. I would not stay here with any sort of larger group. Check in was easy and the place had everything I needed for a two night stay. Just a few blocks away from restaurants, shopping etc.

    Paul2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's apartment is great for a weekend or short stay: walking distance to town, modest-sized kitchen and super clean. We had a problem with the heat and Michael responded to our text in less than 5 minutes and immediately resolved the issue. Only caveat is that there are steep stairs leading up to the apartment, so if mobility is an issue for your or someone in your party, this would not be a good choice. But otherwise, this is a superb value.

    Joanne2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's place is cozy, cute, and was a great choice for my one night stay in Keene. The radiator does get very loud sometimes, but with my white noise machine I brought, my boyfriend and I were able to sleep just fine. The apartment had everything we needed to have a very comfortable stay. Overall, I would definitely recommended this place!

Cozy, light filled guest bedroom with a memory foam bed. Our guests agree: this bed is super comfy! Spacious shared bathroom. This modest, clean and warm home is on a large lot in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to parks and trails. We're less than 5 minutes from major shopping plazas and Antioch University; about 7 minutes to downtown and Keene State College.
Our guest room is quiet and clean, with hardwood floors and views of green spaces from both windows. Nice sunset views and ample closet space for storage. Blackout drapes provide a restful environment. Please note that if you are especially tall, this may not be the bed for you! It is a double (full) size bed with headboard and footboard.
We're in a suburban neighborhood; vehicle traffic on our street is pretty minimal. Our lot sits between a wooded park and school athletic fields; on weekdays, expect to see morning and afternoon school foot traffic, and sports practices in the afternoons during fall and spring. Weekends and evenings are typically very quiet.
  • Jim and Raven are great hosts. I am a frequent guest. The space is always clean, welcoming, and quiet which is what I’ve needed after working a long day.

Bring your own tent, RV, or tiny home and camp on our 10 acre property. To be clear: this is a low cost primitive campsite. Bring your own gear, including a flashlight. No water, sewer, or electric hookups available. Park in the driveway, not at the campsite. Port a Potty and solar shower tent available on property, but a distance from the campsite. We are generally happy to help w anything you’ve forgotten, if you ask. Washer and dryer in basement. WiFi works near the house.
Great access to local hiking. Abuts (unpaved) rail trail for walks or biking. Fire pit available for careful use, subject to fire warden’s approval. Camp wood available on site.
We’re near a numbered route, so there is road noise, otherwise our neighborhood is safe and quiet. Folks stop and say hi, and most everyone knows their neighbors. Gardner MA, Keene and Peterborough NH are within half an hours drive. Grocery, Walmart, etc are approximately 5 miles away

Welcome to The Phineas Handerson House, originally built in 1827 by the “the happiest man in town” Able Wilder. Modern eclectic one-bedroom apartment, just one block from Central Square in Downtown Keene. Featuring newly remodeled kitchen, fitted with electric range and microwave. Other tenants occupy part of the building, but guests have a private entrance and off-street parking behind the building. Comfortable for two guests but can sleep up to four. Pet friendly!
Staircase that ascends to the apartment is very steep. The sofa in the living room pulls out into a queen size bed. Full bath with shower and small tub. Wifi, internet, and basic cable are all provided. Kitchen is equipped with coffee maker, toaster, electric tea kettle, and utensils.
For breakfast try Timoleon’s or Lindy’s Diner. If looking for brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's head to Machina Kitchen and Art Bar. For a locally sourced and environmentally conscious meal, check out The Works Café or Country life. Best coffee in the county is at Prime Roast on Main Street. There is also an array of Asian and Mexican restaurants and fun bars like the 21 Bar and Grille, Lab n’ Lager, and Machina. Finally, if you enjoy fine local spirits, come visit us in Winchester at the New England Sweetwater Distillery.

Perhaps the stairs are a tiny bit steep. But honestly, I would stay again any time. Patti is right there to answer should you need anything. And pet friendly. That’s a huge plus ❤️

    Margaret2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Super host. Very nice, even going out of her way to let me know about what was happening in town and beyond, such as a historical wall mural project. She welcomed me in a caring way to use her kitchen and dining room. Her dog Jazzy is lovely. Taryn always had the lights on when I came home late. I can't say enough about her great hosting skills. We also had great conversations, and I just felt like I was at my home away from home.

We loved the homemade chocolate chip cookies that greeted us as well. Communication with host was really prompt. They allowed us a late check out with two little kids! We will definitely come back!

    Sarah2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible home in such a beautiful location! The cookies we'd read about were present on the table when we arrived (yum!), the house was delightfully clean, and David and Deborah thought of everything! We spent a lot of time outside the home because we had come to see fall colors, but left wishing we'd had an extra day just to enjoy the house and the backyard!

    Tarrah2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here! Would highly recommend, and we will be returning.

It’s close proximity to downtown Keene and Brattleboro, which is so convenient. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and our only regret was not booking a longer stay!

✓ Two Beds: One Queen and One Futon. ✓ Bedroom has Adjoining Sitting Room. ✓ Wifi and Smart TV with Local Channels. ✓ Complimentary Water, Tea and Coffee. ✓ Bathroom Includes Shampoo and Soap ✓ Two Block walk to Downtown Keene You will be staying in one of the oldest homes in Keene. The Aaron Seaman House was built in 1804 and maintains much of it's antique Colonial Charm. We welcome travelers from all walks of life and consider hosting a privilege.
Your rooms include a bedroom with a queen bed with 100% cotton linens and an adjoining sitting room with a futon that can be used as a double bed. There is a door in between the rooms so if one person wants to sleep, while the other stays up to read or watch some TV, this gives added privacy. Your rooms also include a ✓ mini-fridge and ✓ coffee / tea set up ✓ and bottled water. Your bathroom has shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in the 42" x 36" stand-up shower. Please note the decorative shower door has an opening of 18" wide. We only use 100% cotton towels / wash clothes. The Aaron Seaman House is over 200 years old and retains many of its antique charms such as wide wooden board floors, stained glass over the entryway, and classic crown molding around the downstairs doorways. Being over 200 years old, it also has the typical quirks of a house this age. The walls are original plaster / horse hair and the floors have settled throughout the years. Back in the day, homes were made for much shorter people, so for our taller guests, keep that in mind as you enter the rooms! In addition to your private rooms and bathroom, there is also a sitting area at the top of the hall, beside your bedroom. It’s another area that you are welcome to use.
Keene is a quaint New England town with an "up and coming" foodie and art scene. You will be two blocks from downtown Keene / Head of the Square with easy walk to Keene's many local shops, cafes, restaurants as well as Keene State College. Enjoy the free walking tour of the Wall Dog Historical Murals scattered around the downtown. There are also walking bicycle trails nearby too. We are an easy drive to many lakes, hiking and ski areas, including the famous Mt. Monadnock. Spofford Lake, Surry Dam, Island Pond and Warren Lake are some local favorite swimming and kayaking spots. 15 minutes North is beautiful Walpole, NH with Burdick's Chocolate Shop and European Restaurant, as well as the stunning Walpole Mountain View Winery. A 20 – 25 minute drive West will take you to Brattleboro VT, a funky, fun classic VT spot. The Marina Restaurant and Whetstone Brewery's rooftop Beer Garden both overlook the Connecticut River. We love visiting the Grafton Cheese shop and Saxton River Distillery in Brattleboro. Many ski areas are in easy driving distance: Granite Gorge, Crotched Mountain, Mt. Sunapee, Mt. Snow, Pat’s Peak and more!
  • This place is a true Gem. My wife and I were fortunate as a cancellation opened up the rental during exactly the time we needed. Bonnie is a very thoughtful host, and the rooms are very comfortable and welcoming. A very special experience for us! Would highly recommend.

  • Bonnie and Abe are sweethearts! Their space is sparkling clean and has thoughtful touches everywhere! She went the extra mile; buying some chocolate covered strawberries for my wife's birthday which coincided with our stay! They were available but always gave us space and privacy. Matter of fact it was as though the space was in another house altogether. The space is thoughtfully furnished! Bed is incredibly comfortable. Area has a small but tasteful living room with pull out couch and tv and such. Bathroom is spotless and furnished with everything a guest would need. The house is easy to find and a walking/short driving distance from restaurants and entertainment. If ever in Keene again, I know where I'll stay. My wife and I both loved it!

    Tim2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful clean space. Hosts go the extra mile to ensure needs are met and are very communicative. Check in was easy and the house is in a great location, could not have asked for more.

  • This AirBNB was amazing! The decor was lovely with authentic charm and complimenting colors. It was very clean and well maintained. There communication before and during our stay was exceptional. The extra amenities such as bottled water, Keurig coffee/tea, mini fridge and bathroom toiletries were thoughtfully provided. They even provided bathrobes, cloth slippers and eye masks, for lounging or relaxing. The electric mini fireplace provided a cozy New England feel to the room. We especially enjoyed the separate/adjoining sitting area. We look forward to staying again!

  • Michele is easy to communicate with and is eager to make you feel comfortable in her home.

    Jen2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Michele was friendly and accommodating of my late arrival. I had forgotten to bring my own towel, so she helpfully let me use one of hers. The construction of the house was indeed paused while I was there, but guests should know that the full bathroom on the floor with the bedroom had no door.

    Rachel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • During my stay in Michele's sweet home I felt warm, comfortable and welcome. It was a pleasure to meet Michele and her daughter and their lovely brood of dogs and cats! Such beautiful energy in this house hold. Thanks again for welcoming me!

  • Michele was a lovely host. Very kind and friendly, the house was absolutely darling. It was nice to leave and come back to a greeting by one of the cats, and the pups were very sweet and laid back too. The futon was comfortable! I mostly spent my time here sleeping, but I felt very relaxed and welcomed during my stay. Would highly recommend to a young traveling female. Michele’s abode is just steps from downtown Keene, and she was so very helpful in making suggestions for things to do locally. Thank you again Michele!

  • Quaint and cozy New Englander, complete with friendly cats and dogs that greet you at the door. The second-floor room is just right for one person, with ample lighting, shelves, and a place to hang some things. I recommend bringing your favorite pillow to go with the futon experience : ) Lovely bathroom and sitting area just outside your room. Front porch catches the early morning sun and overlooks the gardens - a perfect way to start your day. Host is very pleasant and helpful. Location is ideal for walking to downtown or the college campus. A great value.

  • Michele’s place is adorable and very well located. It’s walking distance to Main Street in Keene where you’ll find pretty much everything you need! Parking and check in were easy, and Michele was very responsive! I’d definitely stay with her again for a weekend in Keene!

  • Sue 's home has a home away from home feeling. She has coffee or tea and great fruit to share and keeps a super clean place.

    Stacey And Randy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sue‘s space was everything I could have hoped for. The shared spaces in the house are warm and inviting and the bedroom was charming. The shared bath was easy to work around. I enjoyed getting to know the others I shared the space with and Sue herself is a delightful hostess. Delightful amenities included a cozy shared TV/reading space with a gas stove, coffee cake and fruit for morning breakfasts, an array of coffees and teas. The stairs were a non issue for me but if you have a lot of “stuff” to carry in you might want to find lodging on a ground floor. Keene itself has so much going on. I can’t wait to return and I will certainly plan my trip around availability at Sue’s place.

    Sharon2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was very welcoming and her home made a great base for us. It was all very relaxed and friendly.

    Helen & Phil2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's house is wonderful. It's located an easy drive from downtown Keene in a lovely neighborhood. I enjoyed my drive to and from the house. And the room is cozy and comfy. Sue goes out of her way to make you comfortable. There were always little snacks in the kitchen and other extra amenities. I shared a bathroom, but never ran into the other guests, so it was almost like my own. I highly recommend this place to stay.

Spacious light filled room with own bathroom and entrance, in back of house occupied by mother and son, along with black lab. House is around the corner from the Monadnock Waldorf School, a short walk to Robin Hood Park and 5-10 minute walk into Keene Centre. Keene State College is a short drive or 15-25 minute walk.
Space is a renovated garage with plenty of natural light and bamboo flooring. It is attached to the back of the house. Door to rest of house has sliding locks on each side for privacy. The sofa bed is new and has an added layer of memory foam for comfort.
15-20 minute walk downtown. The Colonial Theatre is home to great movies and first rate live shows. Keene State College also offers an abundance of cultural opportunities. The Monadnock Food Co-op is a ten minute walk, offering local products and plenty of organic choices. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a fabulous juice bar.
  • The place was perfect. Just as described. Close to downtown Keene. Went snowboarding at Killington and had a nice place to stay the night!

  • The host, Lindsay, is so kind and really helped us about to discover whats around. This place is cute, quite and comfortable.

    Ayse2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay was an incredible host, quick to communicate about logistics and provides a very pleasant and quaint room.

    Daniel2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The space was exactly as described. I appreciated the privacy/private entrance, comfy bed and all of the extra amenities – a mini-frig, microwave, coffee-maker and, most especially, the fresh fruit, coffee and milk. The only minor issue I had (which has more to do with my being an extremely light sleeper than the accommodations) was the wall next to the bed apparently abuts either an entrance way or a room in the main house and several times I could hear peoples' conversations and doors being opened and closed.

    debbi2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay's place was absolutely perfect for our family. So clean, warm ( and it was COLD out!) cozy and comfortable. Communication was easy, clear and timely. She greeted us with an easy warm welcome. We felt so at home. After a day of travel and out door exploration we were ready to snuggle in and watch tv. Perfectly relaxing with a nice cup of tea and toast. She even left out chocolates for us. The coffee looked inviting as well, smelling so good! I would highly recommend a stay in Lindsay's home. Hope to return sometime!

    Donna2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was the perfect place for our little visit to Keene!

    Emily2019-12-07T00:00:00Z

This apartment is located roughly .5 miles from Keene's lovely downtown. The apartment offers a brand new kitchen, easy and free parking, and plenty of space for all. The building itself was built in 1810, and the other half of the building is an operating Bed and Breakfast, The Elm City Carriage Barn. We have strong, business grade wifi and a tv hooked up to cable and Netflix. I also provide a top of the line guest booklet with my favorite restaurants and hikes!
Both bathrooms have tiled showers, and the main bathroom has a bathtub with jets!
My neighborhood is part of the historical lower main street in Keene. Right across the street sits the old Wyman Tavern where the Keene Minute Men met for the Battle of Lexington and Concord.

  • Perfect location! Great for parents visiting their Keene students. Walking distance to campus and town/restaurants. Very comfy beds, plenty of space for six with a pull out couch in the living room. Roomy eat in kitchen. Two full baths. And Will who is a gracious host. We will stay again.

    Jeanne2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great, spacious apartment with everything you will need in a rustic farmhouse setting. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of room to relax. Walk to town center and college. Will is a super nice host who goes out of his way to make your stay pleasant. Hope to return soon.

    Joseph2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Will's place gave us a great weekend getaway! It's a beautiful, HUGE space with so many excellent amenities. We loved the provided foodstuffs in the kitchen, and all of the updates in the bathrooms. My favorite were the meticulous hardwood floors and super snuggly beds&linens, made up with great touches that felt like a hotel. The subtle smell of eucalyptus made the back rooms seem like a spa. Even without the fireplace working (temporary, and Will was extremely apologetic and hospitable about it), the space was incredible cozy with the provided candles. Will was gone for one night and he always made sure a friendly face (in this case, his parents running the B&B next door) was around to take care of anything, should we need it. The whole space would be amazing for two couples, with each provided a full bathroom. As it was my friend and I had what felt like a super luxurious weekend away, in this immaculately clean and relaxing space that is just a couple of blocks' walk to downtown Keene. Probably the best AirBnB I've ever stayed in! Thanks Will :)

Perfect for the solo adventurer or business traveler, or a cozy space for two. At 250 sq ft including all storage, Tastefully Tiny makes maximum use of space. Custom cherry cabinets, bamboo floors, and a fold down ambrosia dinette are some of the special touches. Spanish tile floor and claw foot tub add to the charm of the bath. Futon folds down into a full sized bed for sleeping or doubles as a couch for reading or watching tv. Our price reflects that finishing touches are still ongoing.
Conveniently located between Keene, Peterborough, and Gardner, MA, we offer a rural location close to a numbered route. Abuts Cheshire Rail Trail, and close to many other local hikes. Mount Monadnock nearby. The apartment is within our old farmhouse. Squeaky floors, the occasional mouse, and other eccentricities are part of the charm. Because of proximity to numbered route there is road noise.
We live in a safe, usually quiet, and relaxed neighborhood. We know and get along with most neighbors within a mile of here. Folks generally wave as they drive by.
  • Great location for a traveling healthcare worker. Only 20 minutes to Cheshire. Wonderful hosts, plenty of off street parking, your own entrance, and super clean.

The Country Guest Quarters room is in a completely separate part of the house which offers great privacy and includes a private bathroom. In October 2018 we added a small sitting area which is totally private in the evenings and weekends, and mostly private during the days. We added this area as a bonus and did not raise our price! The house is in a safe, quiet, friendly community.
The bedroom is adjoined by an office that may be available as a BONUS to use in the evenings if you require workspace. The office is not used during the evenings or weekends! There is a sitting area separated from the office by room dividers. This area is now part of the Airbnb! (FYI, Airbnb room is up stairs in the bonus room above the garage) Note: The room has no windows to the outside, except for the skylight in the sitting area. Fans and A/C units are provided. The yard lets you feel as you are surrounded by nature. There are no other visible houses during the summer months. We are available for a lot of interaction, or no interaction, this is entirely up to the guests. The neighborhood is very quite, very safe, and we are friends or family with almost everyone around. If you do not have your own transportation this is not the place for you. We are at least 30 minutes from the nearest taxi, and buses and trains are out of the question! This is a bedroom community about 90 minutes from Boston. We have a wonderful cat the grandchildren named Orange Meow,,, which is mostly in his own area or outside, but he is never in your room. We are non drinkers and appreciate our guests doing the same. We don’t want any alcohol related problems, including coming back drunk from a night out. Relax and enjoy a cozy and comfortable stay!
Quiet, safe, friendly. We know most of the neighbors, and many of them are family.

All I need was a bed to crash in for two nights, but what I found was a little vacation and a comfortable space to relax in. The location is beautiful, as well as his space. I will be looking to stay there again, if I should ever need a place to stay in the area again. Thanks John.

I stayed for a week during a training at Antioch University. The location is 10 minute walk to the school and 10 minutes into the beautiful Main Street Keen. Shops, art and yummy dining options. It was such a pleasure spending time with Olga and Norbert, they are lovely hosts and makes you feel like you are staying at your home away from home. How sweet simplicity can be.

  • This upstairs space is cozy and well suited for the solo traveler. I only once ever missed snagging the shared bathroom; it was usually readily available. During warmer than usual temperatures, it was a bit stuffy, but the supplied fan helped immensely. Closet space would have been nice, and the stairs are pretty steep and narrow, uncomfortably so for anyone with mobility problems or amply-sized. The hosts are very sweet and genuinely helpful. Parking is free and easy in this quiet residential neighborhood. Several restaurants at different price points are about a fifteen-minute walk away.

Nostalgic. Historic. Authentic. If you listen carefully, you might hear the bell of the local boxing ring that stood here in 1820. Over a century later, the ring is now the Cheshire Rail Suite, a modern and well-equipped apartment to make your vacation notable. In the heart of Troy, you'll enjoy hiking, biking, snowmobiling, or simply taking in the local views. Every season has something new, and we can't wait for you to experience everything we love about New Hampshire.
Guests will enjoy a private apartment complete with modern-day amenities including Internet access, washer, dryer, a fully outfitted kitchen, Smart TV, full bath, adjacent parking, and a patio overlooking the garden. The apartment is equipped with both heat and air conditioning to accommodate any season.
From the back door, a winding path leads you to the Cheshire Rail Trail and the start of your unique adventure. Guests can walk to the center of Troy, discover quiet fishing spots and swimming holes, or continue along the trail for a woodland stroll. Mount Monadnock, just a few minutes from Troy, is often cited as the second most hiked mountain in the world, second only to Mount Fuji. On a clear day, it is possible to see Boston from the summit. From our experience, hiking Mount Monadnock takes roughly 3 or 4 hours to complete and is appropriate for hikers aged 10+. For a more relaxed hiking experience or younger families, Gap Mountain is situated right in Troy. The peak of Gap Mountain is an excellent spot for a picnic and a picturesque view of Mount Monadnock. If you climb Gap Mountain in the late summer, you can enjoy freshly picked blueberries to round off your hike. During the winter months, guests can snowmobile along the rail trail, go snowshoeing, cross country skiing, or ice-skating. Alpine skiing and tubing are within driving distance at Crotched Mountain and Granite Gorge. In the evenings, the historic Colonial Theatre in Keene hosts a bevy of performances, comedy acts, classic and contemporary movies, concerts, and dance troupes. For a more refined experience that's worth the drive, adults can enjoy local breweries, wineries, and distilleries, or visit L. A. Burdick's in Walpole for specialty chocolates and fine dining. Our favorite local haunts include: The Inn at East Hill Farm, where families can visit the animals on the farm and even take horseback riding lessons. Monadnock Berries is home to a variety of fruits, including blueberries, raspberries, currants, and gooseberries. On-site is the Granite Roots brewery, where you can enjoy a refreshing brew after an afternoon of berry picking. Alyson's Orchard is one of our Fall favorites. Activities include apple picking, hayrides, or sampling the flavors of New England with fresh cider and apple pie.
  • Excellent in every way. Lots of thoughtful touches.....like a full spice rack and pillow spray! The suite was sparkling clean and really well equipped. Amazing hosts...we enquired about an electric kettle and 1/2 hour later there was a brand new one left for us. Great location with an excellent local shop andThai restaurant. We would definitely recommend and we look forward to revisiting at graduation next year. Thanks Julie and Mark.

  • This place was so awesome! Well appointed, very thoughtful and helpful supplies if you decide to cook in rather than going out. Spices, dishes, etc. Mark, being an executive chef, knows what would be needed for basic supplies. The space was beautiful, quiet, private and right along the Rail Trail that we had hoped to enjoy but ran out of time. Julie and Mark were helpful in making suggestions of places to eat in the area. We had an awesome family gathering for the holidays and this place made it relaxing and special.

  • We made a VERY late reservation at Kathy's for a night-out in NH while leaf-peeping. We arrived late at night, to be welcomed in person by our host in person. Since the reservation was made late, our room could not be warmed enough before our arrival. Kathy was very thoughtful to provide two heaters to to keep was warm. Our room was small and cozy with clean amenities which included fresh linen and towels. Will stay again!

  • We were looking for a place to spend the night on our way back to Boston and this was the perfect spot. Kathy wasn't there when we arrived so a super nice woman who lived on the property greeted us and showed us where our room was. She also told us where to find coffee the next morning. The room was super clean, the bed was comfy, and the neighborhood was quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

    Robyn2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a great experience! Kathy was so sweet and thoughtful! I forgot to bring sweaters , she brought me sweaters, and brought heather to the place where we stayed in. It was such a natural place. I wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended! You will love Kathy and her perfect hospitality, and her perfect cozy space!

  • Very clean place the host was super flexible with our check in. Parking close by, overall a good experience

  • Kathy was there when we arrived, friendly and welcoming. She showed us our room, told us where we could walk our dogs and left us to our day. The space was clean, comfy and best of all, allowed us to travel with our dogs. Would recommend this place any day!

    Erin2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy was great with a small request as my visit was a late night to early morning. It was quiet and clean!

    Donna2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t be happier with our stay. Very cute little room in a perfect spot. Only 15 or so minutes from both Keene and Brattleboro. So we had great access to food and outdoor activities. Planning to come back!

Nestled in the quiet woods just north of Mt. Monadnock our cozy one bedroom apartment invites the outdoors in with peeks of the mountain through the trees. Sit out on your private deck and enjoy the view or stroll around the yard and pick a few blueberries in season. We welcome hikers, nature lovers, those visiting friends or family or just wanting to enjoy the area's beautiful scenery and many artistic venues. I like to think of it as a peaceful sanctuary that we'd like to share with you.
The guest apartment is part of our home but it is completely private and has it's own entry and private deck. So, you don't have to say hello whenever you come and go (unless you'd like to, of course:) If you have questions and either Sterling or I am there you are welcome to just knock on our door ( next door) and if we are gone, I am usually available to receive a text or call. You may just enjoy sitting out on the deck to get your fresh air and view but you are welcome to the yard and to stroll through the garden. We have plenty of parking so park where you finds a good space. We only advertise one bedroom and there is a long couch (not a pullout with a bed) in the living room that is pretty comfortable. I keep extra bedding in the bedroom closet. We also have a handy twin mattress in the entry closet to accommodate a child if needed. You are welcome to these . We also have a guestroom with its own patio down the stairs from the apartment. My family visits occasionally so I don't advertise it but if you need another queen bed you can let me know and, if it is available, you are welcome. (We charge an extra $50 a night for that.) If you like to cook the kitchen has the basics: stove, refrigerator, utensils, a few condiments and spices. Let me know if you need anything you can't see there. The apartment has a coffee station. You can have the option of the Kuerig if you are in a hurry for coffee in the morning (like me) or there is a coffee maker so that you can make yourself a pot. I usually try to have eggs and something baked on hand so you don't have to rush off for breakfast. I hope you can relax and enjoy your stay!
When we first moved here over 30 years ago I wasn't sure I could handle the quiet, town girl that I was. But I love it and, after a busy day, it is such a peaceful place to come back to. My favorite spot in the summertime is on the deck for dinner. The apartment has it's own and I think most guests feel the same way. There are lots of walkers who enjoy this road and cars hauling boats but, even after all these years, it remains a peaceful and quiet spot. Just a mile and a half down the road is Dublin Lake and Stone Pond is about that distance in the other direction. Howe Reservoir is nearby as well. Bring your kayak and watch the sunset from the middle of the lake and enjoy a spectacular view of the mountain. If you are a hiker or even an aspiring one we are not too far from trails up Mt. Monadnock and the Sunapee Trail. In the winter there are lots of cross country or snow shoe trails not far from us. Friendly Farm is a great place for children and it's just a 6 minute drive away. The towns around us have lots of activities too numerous to list but we are centrally located to the best the area has to offer... Peterborough Players, Apple Hill Chamber Music (where you can sit outside and enjoy a picnic while being serenaded,) Art Shows, Museums, Concerts, Great Restaurants and Shopping. I try to keep local information up to date and on your coffee table.
  • Linda’s place was fantastic! Sadly I did not get to personally meet her, but my friend did when she checked us in earlier in the day and said she was a lovely person. The space was very well decorated and very home, sparkling clean, and exactly as advertised. The view is fantastic, and Linda went above and beyond by providing us homemade cookies and bread. I would stay at Linda’s place again in a heartbeat!

    Greg2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s home was beautiful! It is the perfect location to disconnect and recharge. Linda welcomed us into her home with baked goods, which was such a thoughtful touch. Would definitely recommend!

    Natalie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was an amazing host. She was thoughtful about each aspect of the stay, and I have never had a more positive Airbnb experience! So many of the reviews are overwhelmingly positive and detailed, so to avoid redundancy, I will just say that if I could give Linda 5 more stars, I would. This place was so special and our weekend experience in NH was enhanced by the quality of our stay. We are definitely hoping to come back, and we will surely recommend her place to anyone looking to rent.

    Simone2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I am a super host myself but this place far exceeded our expectations. This is another slapped together attic. This is a solidly built and beautifully finished apartment. Beautiful deck and view, fridge stocked for breakfast, and the made from scratch baked goods you see everyone raving about in the reviews. Don’t look any further for a place to stay. This is the place! Friendly host and stunning colors of trees the second week of October. Highly, highly recommend.

    Shirley2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a writer’s dream-space; if you’re looking for peace, quiet and beauty to write or just relax, this is it. A clean, comfortable, and very roomy apartment including a balcony deck with deck chairs and a covered table for coffee and writing while enjoying a spectacular view. I wanted space to spread out a project and had it in spades, with lots of floorspace in the comfortable and nicely decorated living area. Both kitchen and bathroom had a surprising number of amenities and unexpected extras. Nestled into a gorgeous location, it’s near the lake and Monadnock State Park for beautiful fall hikes, drives and walks. Linda offered to let me come earlier than the regular check in (much appreciated) and met me upon my arrival. She had several delicious home-baked treats waiting in the fridge, along with many unexpected basics (eggs, milk, juice, milk, oatmeal). Stirling came over to offer excellent driving directions to several hiking trails and helpful descriptions of each. Would stay here gladly for a longer spell (didn’t really want to leave!)---excellent value for comfortable and pleasing rooms, beautiful/ quiet location, and friendly, attentive hosts.

    Margaret2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! The space was large and cozy. It also had an amazing view from the private porch. Linda’s hospitality was above and beyond what we expected. It was exactly what we needed for our trip. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

    Angela2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was an incredible host! She greeted us warmly when we pulled up after dark and again the next evening, when she called for us to join her and her husband at their fire pit after we got in from dinner in Peterborough. It was my wife's birthday weekend, and waiting for us in the fridge on our arrival was a cake! Super host indeed. The place is so nice in so many ways. It is tucked away a short distance down a dirt road from the end of the pavement--with all the peace and quiet you'd expect. The view of Monadnock from the living room and off the deck are fantastic--we loved eating out there, too. It is a quick drive into Dublin and only slightly longer to Peterborough, Marlborough, and Keene. We hiked Monadnock while there, and the trailhead was a three or four minute drive down Linda's road (it's the longest trail to the summit, but hey!) The only thing remotely approaching a negative was a slight sulfur smell to the water. It was not strong, we didn't taste it in the food we cooked (including coffee), and it didn't keep us from lugging a couple of liters of it up Monadnock, but if you're sensitive you should know.

You would have the entire second floor, up a fairly steep stairway, which has two bedrooms (a queen and a full size) and a private bathroom. Our house is in rural New Hampshire surrounded by pastureland and gardens but is only 10 minutes from Keene. There are plenty of outdoor recreation possibilities. There are miles of trails adjacent to our property for walking or running, biking, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. Many major ski areas are less than an hour away.
It is a quiet and picturesque setting. We have 2 mountain bikes available for use as well as cross country skis, skates and snowshoes for winter time. A rail path runs near the house with miles of trails. We provide a light breakfast of toast or english muffins with homemade jams and tea or coffee
We live on a dirt road with rail trails adjacent to our house. We have many gardens, fruit trees and a large veggie garden. It is quiet and rural yet easy access to Brattleboro or Keene.
  • Jan and Dan were excellent hosts! They were very accommodating and understanding of our trip plans etc. They were happy to y’all with us and be pleasant, but also happy to leave us to ourselves when necessary. Overall, I would highly recommend staying with them. PS their cat Gary is a cuddler!

  • A dream.

  • An amazingly comfortable and relaxing cottage. The place was spotless and the decorations added a really nice rustic touch. We spent a weekend and while we initially planned on hiking and spending more time in the city, we were awestruck with the beauty of the lake, the cottage and spent more time cooking, sitting next to the fire pit watching the sunsets, and catching up on shows. The kitchen had everything we needed and nothing beats enjoying a cup of tea/coffee in the morning with the views. The lake did freeze over and if you have your own skates- highly recommended to bring them. Place did get a bit chilly but the heaters were a great touch.

  • This is a cabin to make Thoreau proud. Built (stylishly) of recycled materials on the shore of a pristine pond surrounded by forest, it is the perfect place to write. The only aspect Thoreau might find to critique is something I very much appreciated: a number of amenities to make it cozy and relaxing, including a full kitchen, hot shower, washing machine, and even a discreet TV in each room. I came to this cabin to do exactly what its name suggests: write. And every element of the cabin helped me do just that, from the solitude to the affirming quotes about writing framed on the walls. I would certainly come back, whether to write another chapter or for a romantic getaway with my wife. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

    Scott2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was amazing! We loved every minute of our trip. The cabin is cozy and warm with the most amazing view of Tully Pond. We couldn’t believe we were right on the water! From the kitchen to the bathroom and the bedroom it has everything you need. The location of the cabin offers so much to do in the surrounding area. No matter what time of year you go you will enjoy your stay.

    Laura2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was everything we hoped it would be! We absolutely loved our winter weekend on Tully Pond and enjoyed hiking through the woods near by. We will definitely come back again!

    Sean2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our winter long weekend at Patti’s cottage was great. The hiking in this area was great, and spending time on the frozen Tully Pond was super fun for our pup. The custom cottage itself is even cooler than the pictures can show. The entire place is custom built and really neat! We definitely plan to return.

    Jennifer2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a great long weekend stay at Patti’s cabin. We were warm and cozy despite the freezing temps of January outside. The cabin is fun and rustic with creative design features...several of my friends now I want a getaway to the cabin after seeing my Instagram post! It was stocked with all the basics in the kitchen and bathroom areas- very thoughtful. We slept so well because it was very quiet and peaceful there. The views of the pond are beautiful and the stars at night are amazing. Patti was warm, kind, helpful and receptive to my questions. Her friend even helped me out when my car battery died! I would definitely stay here again and can recommend this cabin for anyone hoping for a cozy weekend away. If you stay in this cabin during winter I also recommend checking out the Northfield mountain cross-country ski area for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. It’s a beautiful forest!

    Amy2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property was absolutely perfect! It was spotlessly clean. It is small, but the setup and organization made amazing use of the space and it felt plenty large enough. The outdoor space is also great! Our dog absolutely loved chilling on the big deck that looks out over the lake. There are a few houses nearby (including one that shares a driveway with this property) but we had plenty of space to play. If you have a dog with people/animal reactivity the other house does directly share the yard (ie no fence or other divider) but it was unoccupied while we where there. This property was the perfect escape from the craziness of life and Patti was an excellent host!

My place is close to Keene, NH, Fitzwilliam Inn, Mount Monadnock, Rhododendron State Park. You’ll love my place because of The calm surroundings, shade and sunshine ease of access to everything in the Monadnock Region. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Just to be clear the beach is across the road, (which is about 10' wide) and slightly to the left of my house.
Inside the cottage is basically a one bedroom cottage with a large Sunroom and common Living Room/Kitchen/Dinning/Great Room. There are full sized pull out sofas' in the Sunroom and Living Room. The Sunroom offers as much privacy as a Bedroom; the Living Room does not. There's a deck that wraps around the house and a patio in the backyard. There is also an out door shower off the patio so you can shower off after coming up from the beech and a large fireplace with patio in the side yard.
Fitzwilliam New Hampshire is the quintessential New England town and was featured as such many years ago on the Today Show! The Fitzwilliam Inn is a short drive, (@ 3 minutes), down the road and has an excellent Dinning Room and Bar. Mount Monadnock is about 15 minutes away and is the second most hiked mountain in the world I am told. Keene, New Hampshire is about a 15-20 minute drive north on NH Route 12 and offers a full set of conveniences for shopping, dinning and entertainment.

A cozy country home, we're surrounded by hay fields with big sky and beautiful views with many amenities nearby. Conveniently located 1 mile off Route 91, with easy access to points north (Brattleboro, VT, 15 minutes) and points south (Northampton, MA, 40 minutes). We welcome all walks of life and we are 420 friendly. Please read the listing details for more information.
Our quaint and cozy dormer cape farmhouse was built in 1930 and is surrounded by several acres of hay fields, with a majestic line of sugar maples facing the street. With beautiful surroundings throughout the year, we’re within a 5 to 50 minute drive from places for: biking, hiking, fishing, boating, skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling, as well as museums, first-rate restaurants and shopping. During the growing season there is a variety of organically grown berries and fruit available for sale from our garden, as well as freshly made jams, fruit syrups and other preserves year-round. In warm weather, sit out on the arbor-deck in the garden and enjoy beautiful views and sunsets, enjoy a meal or stargaze. Relax on the front porch and enjoy the neighbors’ draft horses and cows across the street. In cold weather we often have our old-fashioned cookstove going, which we use for cooking and baking, as well as a source of heat, and you can relax and read, watch TV, cable or a DVD, or just enjoy the warmth of the stove. Please note that while we are happy to have you enjoy it, we must ask that guests not use the cookstove when we're not home. We’re in a quiet, safe neighborhood; the elementary school is a half mile away and the police station only a mile away. It’s a ten minute drive to a full-size grocery store and twelve minutes to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center. Michael and I are discreet, laid-back hosts, and we try to accommodate schedules as best we can. If at all possible we would like you to check in by 9 pm and check out by noon, but with advance notice we can adjust our time requests. We are happy to work out other arrangements if possible when you let us know in advance.
Bernardston is a small town, about 2000 people. Farms abound, so scenery is pastoral and idyllic. For such a small town, we have quite a few amenities within a 20-minute walk or 1 mile drive to downtown Bernardston, which has: a bakery, diner, art gallery, two pizza and sandwich shops, a deli, convenience store, Dunkin’ Donuts, gas station and the lovely little Cushman library. If you walk in the opposite direction, it’s 15 minutes to Kringle Candle and The Farm Table restaurant, as well as the TownLine Creamie, a seasonal food and soft-serve ice cream stand. Welcome to The Phineas Handerson House, originally built in 1820 by the “the happiest man in town” Able Wilder. Step back in time when you stay in my second floor apartment just one block from Central Square in Downtown Keene. This apartment features two bedrooms, a family room, full kitchen/dining area, and full bathroom. Other tenants occupy part of the building, but guests have a private entrance at the front and off-street parking behind the building. The family room has a pull out sofa.
There are two large bedrooms, one with a queen bed, a desk, dresser, and a large closet if needed. The second bedroom has a full size bed, dresser, and large closet. The bathroom has a tub and shower with a massage head. The family room has a 42 inch TV and a library of antique books and wireless internet. Finally, there is a kitchen fully equipped with an oven range, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, small microwave and includes any utensils you would need.
  • The space was much bigger than expected and checkin was easy. Everything we needed was provided and so close (walk-able) to main street. There was a bonus private parking space just out back too. Can't wait to return to Keene now that we know this place exists.

  • Patti’s place was wonderful! We were looking for a weekend getaway and settled on Keene because we had never visited there before and the apartment looked nice. We were not disappointed! Keene is charming with the town center a short 3-minute walk from Patti’s place. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Really, it’s the entire second floor of a lovely house with a private entrance. The pictures accurately depict the space. We would definitely return.

  • Spent a great weekend at Patti’s. She’s a thoughtful host and the apartment is just as pictured. Would happily stay here again. Thanks, Patti!

  • Patti’s place is perfect. I come to keene for teacher training and this apartment is the perfect location to downtown. The home is comfortable and clean. Will definitely stay again!

  • Patti’s spacious apartment is conveniently located within walking distance of Keene’s Central Square, which includes restaurants, shops, a church and movie/events theater. The Phineas Handerson House appears to be historic, with various additions to the property, which is currently divided into 5 apartments. Her place is accessed by going up a few steps at the front of the building, through her own private entrance foyer and up rather steep carpeted stairs to the second floor. The apartment is chicly furnished with antiques and interesting pieces with tasteful eclectic art and prints on the walls. Patti is a gracious host who provides a variety of thoughtful amenities (grab bar in tub/shower, wall magnifying mirror and counter top mirror in bath, good towels and bedding, an extensive book/reading collection, basic kitchen supplies and equipment and plentiful paper goods to name a few). Bedrooms are large and beds comfortable. Patti provided good communication. Free daytime parking on the street in front made unloading and repacking easy. Specific overnight parking spaces are available to guests directly behind the property. We enjoyed our brief stay in cozy comfort while exploring a bit of Keene and sampling some great food (Thai Garden, The Stage Restaurant, Luca’s Mediterranean) and would happily choose this airbnb for a future visit!

  • Patti’s apartment was clean, spacious, and centrally located in the town. There was easy access to all of the local shops and restaurants. Patti was also extremely responsive. Great place to stay!

Three guest bedrooms in a Colonial home on Washington Street make a great launchpad for visitors to Keene. From here, it's a pleasant walk or drive to Downtown restaurants, the theatre and shops. The Sterling family has owned this pretty place since 1982 and a well-known local ad agency operates in the barn portion of the space. The open living room with TV and original fireplace adjoin a "tea room" with a bright bay window. Family chef-approved, guests are welcome to use the spacious kitchen.
Built by brickmaker Eliphalet Briggs in 1791, this property has all the charm you'd expect in a nearly 230-year-old home and renovated barn. A few upgrades have happened since Eliphalet and his offspring, the Briggs sisters, lived here; including solar power. The renovated barn space has been home to an advertising agency since 1986 and has been associated with the world-famous Keene Pumpkin Festival since 2010. (A very select amount of authentic festival souvenirs may be available for purchase by guests.) The three upstairs bedrooms all have the original slanted ceilings of a Colonial cape. They are cozy and simple. The upstairs bath has a tub/shower with great water pressure. Downstairs, the space is open with gleaming hardwood floors throughout. A tea-room, living room/study with the original fireplace, and kitchen are open to guests.
We are across the street from Franklin elementary school, which has a great playground. Behind the school is a beautiful cemetery, an ideal walking/jogging place. And beyond that is an access point to Robin Rood Park. An easy hike gets you from our place into a cool park with trails and fascinating boulders (map available for guest use). Up the street less than a half mile is the Recreation Center and green space. And down the street a half mile is Downtown Keene--a very easy walk.
  • We were in town for a funeral and wanted a place where the family could stay together. The brick house was perfect for us. Very nice to be able to use the fireplace as well. Clean bathrooms and soft towels. Can’t imagine a better location for proximity to Keene’s adorable old town. If we were to come back to NH I wouldn’t hesitate to book this home again.

  • We loved this space. Very large and spacious home that was children and pet friendly. The Brick House has a sweet, old charm and was exceptionally clean and had the coolest added touches from toys, to Netflix, to geodes to look at. We adored the space and cant wait to return in warmer months (and to use the pool). The price is fantastic. There is a playground across the street. Beautiful sitting areas inside and outside the home. Downtown is a short walk from the house and the house is very close to bigger chain stores and restaurants, should you need them. Ruth was very responsive to messages and extremely accommodating. There is a shared bathroom in the space; however we had the house to ourselves for the entire stay which was awesome. We will most certainly return!!!

  • very nice house, thank you so much!

    Kate2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Ruth’s place was incredible! The house was very clean and well made. The kitchen was spotless and all of the bedrooms were spotless. I cannot day enough about the cleanliness of the house. The boys were able to go out to the driveway and play basketball and enjoy the warm weather even though it is the middle of winter. I can not recommend this place enough!

    Katherine2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home! I’m sure it is so fun to be there in the summer when the pool is open.

  • Ruth was a wonderful host who answered questions quickly and even gave a heads up for the icy step which was much appreciated. Her home had PLENTY of space for the 6 of us who stayed a few nights. Very close to the downtown Keene area!

    Courtney2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This home was spacious and very clean. Beds were so comfortable. It is in a good location and very close to the main part of town. We would recommend this place very highly. Ruth was wonderful to work with...
