  • Beautiful annexe, easy to find, everything was made very easy and a great breakfast :-) Thanks very much. North Norfolk is a beautiful place to stay, a credit to you both.

  • Comfortable stay in a really quiet spot. Stylish small and self contained space. Chris was a friendly yet unobtrusive host. The space has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. There is a coffee machine but no tea making facilities though when we asked Chris for a cuppa after a long day walking he was kindly happy to oblige. Breakfast was yummy, sourdough toast, croissant and homemade Bircher mueslis along with orange juice and tea. It’s super quiet at night meaning you’ll get a quiet night’s sleep. Thanks for a nice stay!

  • Stone Cottage is a delightful place, very quiet and with a pretty garden. The location is excellent, very convenient to reach Holt and the lovely North Norfolk coast with its wonderful beaches and birdlife, as well as visitor attractions such as Holkham Hall, Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom excellent with a good shower. Christopher put two champagne glasses in the room when he knew it was my wife's birthday. Another nice touch is the small speaker which can link with mobile phones for music, etc. The breakfast was delicious. Christopher was there when we arrived to check in. He made us feel welcome and gave us some useful local information. Recommended.

  • Pedlars Rest was exactly as described, sparkling clean, modern but tasteful decor, with the kitchen bits and bobs that you need for a short break. The first thing that hit me when I opened the door was the lovely smell, and I knew from that moment that attention had been taken to make guests' stays memorable. I liked the layout of the sitting area/TV, with separate bedroom, and the shower was great also. Teas and coffees of various descriptions were available. Sheets were sooo soft and luxurious...Thank You

  • A fabulous apartment feel. Stylish, everything you could possibly need plus a few extras (body butter in the shower room) was so appreciated. A beautiful, newly built cottage featuring traditional oak beams and a double height kitchen/diner resembling a chapel. The glazed rear wall lets in plenty of light, while french doors open onto a charming patio – a sun trap where you can sit outside, weather permitting. Above the cosy living room are the bedroom and en suite shower, tucked under the rafters with sloping ceilings. Exposed oak beams, oak doors and stripped pine floors create a delightful fusion of traditional and modern design.
The double height kitchen/ dining room gives the cottage its unique atmosphere - expansive yet cosy, stylish yet welcoming.
Foulsham is a quiet village with a convenience store and a friendly pub serving excellent, reasonably priced food. Market day in the nearby town of Fakenham is on Thursday, when there is also an auction; the supermarkets are open every day (Morrison's is the place for petrol) and there's also a farmer's market on the last Sunday of each month. Foulsham is well situated for reaching Norwich, Kings Lynn, Holt and Wells next the sea, the gloriously unspoiled beaches of north Norfolk, stately homes like Sandringham, Holkham and Houghton Halls and Norfolk's many fine churches which often have gilded angels on their ceilings. Well thought out hut with everything we needed and having the shower hut seperate was not an issue at all and was also kept warm and clean. Would definately visit again.

  • A perfect getaway retreat to celebrate my hubby's birthday. Very quaint and secluded, gorgeous log burner and with easy access to Wells next the Sea and the amazing Anchor pub in Morston where the food was fresh and cooked to order. Great GF selection too for my partner. Highly recommend this lovely hut for a romantic night away ❤️

  • We were both really impressed with the hut. The attention to detail was great, it felt homely and spacious, clean and well thought about. The shower hut was lovely too and it felt like a little bit of luxury staying somewhere different for such great value. Also located in a great village with easy access to lots of lovely locations along the coast. Cannot recommend enough! Thank you both.

  • Enjoyed our stay and especially the log burner in the very cosy cabin. It’s so peaceful.. all you can hear is nature. The shower area was kept lovely and warm too. Would love to return in summer to enjoy the decking and view!

  • Lovely place! We came here to get away from the hustle and bustle of London - and it was the serenity we needed. Delightfully warm space, beautiful views, comfortable bed and so close to the amazing North Norfolk coast!

Stone Cottage, a delightful 200-year-old detached cottage, is reputedly the oldest house in the sought after village of Sharrington and was, at one time, the village post office. Full of character, the cottage has been renovated in recent years and, under the current ownership, has been transformed into a really lovely, welcoming and comfortable holiday property, with modern touches and quirky decorative bits and pieces. The age of the cottage means the beamed ceilings are on the lowish side, the stairs are quite steep (there is no handrail), and the width of the doorway to the twin bedded room is 'slimline'. There's a fabulously cosy open-plan living area, divided by a large double sided wood burning stove to keep you warm in the winter months. In the summer, there is a really lovely private, enclosed garden to enjoy. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the cottage will appeal to families and couples, who want to enjoy this beautiful part of rural North Norfolk. Just three miles from the ever popular Georgian market town of Holt, one mile from an award-winning farm shop and restaurant, and within easy driving distance of the beautiful coastal villages of Morston, Cley and Blakeney, there is something on offer for everyone. Additional Information Please note: The Apple television and Amazon Fire stick are accessible via the television - this gives full Internet TV and connection to BBC iPlayer. It is also connected to amazon Prime films and box sets. These are free of charge however guests are respectfully requested to not buy films that are chargeable or connect via their own amazon account. There is a sound bar under the television unit for Bluetooth connection that can be connected to play guests own music from a phone/tablet. Two well behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Norfolk winder stairs are, as with older character cottages enclosed, steep, curved and narrow. Here they are carpeted and have no hand rail. Ground Floor: Entrance porch A glazed entrance door leads you into the cottage. The porch has a quarry tiled floor, coat hooks and shoe rack. Entrance hallway The hallway has a tiled floor and there is a step down into the open-plan living area. Open-plan sitting / dining room A very cosy relaxing area, with antique agricultural finds adorning the walls. A brick chimney breast divides the room and houses the double sided multi fuel burner (a starter pack of fuel will be provided in the winter months). The ceiling is beamed across the room, being just slightly lower in the sitting area. There is a farmhouse style wooden table with six painted chairs in the dining half, and two comfy sofas with throws and cushions in the sitting half of the room. There is a wide screen Apple television and Amazon Fire stick, DVD player and board games for cosy nights in. Double glazed windows overlook the pretty garden. Kitchen A small but functional room, open to the dining/sitting room. Painted units house plenty of equipment and there is a bright red Smeg fridge/freezer for that retro feel. There is a Stoves induction cooker, slimline dishwasher and microwave. Utility/pantry A really useful room off the hallway, with shelving for food storage, and a place for the washer/dryer. Master bedroom There is a king size bed, painted wardrobe and matching bedside tables, a chest of drawers, and wall mounted bedside lamps. Windows overlook the garden. A light-filled, pretty room. Downstairs shower room A double shower cubicle, with glazed screen to one side, wash basin and WC. First Floor: Landing/study area There is a small landing area at the top of the stairs, where there is just enough space for a desk with stool and an easy chair - a good spot to read and write. Upstairs bedroom suite A door from the landing leads into a small room, with a 2'6"single bed, chest of drawers and easy chair. A further, narrow doorway, from within this room takes you into a twin bedded room with iron bedsteads, easy chair, chest of drawers and television. Due to sloping ceilings, there is some restricted headroom to both rooms. Bathroom A fully tiled room with white suite comprising bath, wash basin and WC. Outside: During the summer, there is a really lovely private, enclosed garden to enjoy. Gravelled area with table and seating for six. Further seating area under pergola with wicker furniture and fire pit.

We are very lucky with our location which is perfect for walking, cycling (cycle route 1) and generally encouraging slow living and relaxing, we seem very rural and are spoilt with surrounding fields, farms and the church. Blakeney is our nearest coastal village at 25 minutes and Holkham and Wells are 45 minutes away. If you love wildlife Cley and Salthouse are a must and only 25 minutes too. Reepham is a beautiful Georgian town located 6 miles away with fantastic eateries and local deli's and shops. The Historical village of Heydon is very close and has a lovely country pub, village green, tea rooms, wood fired pizza bakery, a recently renovated area behind the pub with a beauty salon, florist, homeware and clothes shops. Holt is a busier town with more coffee shops and gift shops. Cycle all the way into Norwich on cycle route 1 or drive down into the city (30 minutes) where shows, dinning, shopping and cathedrals will keep you entertained.

  • The Old Tack Room is very stylish, cosy and clean. When we arrived on Friday evening it looked magical and had so many lovely welcoming touches! It only takes 30 minutes (drive) to get to the North coast. There are also lots of brilliant pubs only a short drive away, all of Grants food recommendations were spot on. Also the bed is very comfortable and the space was warm throughout our stay. We had the perfect cosy, relaxing weekend with lots of great food and walking. Thank you!

Bird Box is a traditional Norfolk 'brick and flint' cottage which has recently been restored to reflect modern living whilst retaining its Victorian character.
Bird Box cottage is set in a little Square tucked behind Byfords Holt's landmark restaurant/deli . You'll be in the very heart of Holt with all the local shops and restaurants a stroll away. The cottage is a one bedroom Victorian terrace which has recently been sympathetically and lovingly restored.
Holt is a unique town with scores of independent shops and mouthwatering eateries. Bakers and Larners department store is a local landmark and its incredible food hall won the coveted National Food and Farming Award for best deli in 2019. The Black Apollo coffee shop is 'small but perfectly formed' and produce their own unique blends and roasts of coffee. If you like clothes you'll love Holt with boutiques brimming with treasures for your wardrobe! Holt is also very canine friendly and recently, 'Woofers and Barkers' a shop catering especially for our four legged chums opened on the High Street for the 'top dogs' in town.
  • This property exceeded our expectations. Immaculately clean and comfortable with extra special touches around the cottage; this was a true home away from home! This is the only place to stay when visiting Holt and the surrounding area. Kindest regards, Jamie & Jordan

  • The bird box cottage is an absolutely beautiful little cottage in the lovely village of Holt. The cottage was absolutely spotless and the hosts were brilliant. We couldn't have asked for more. The cakes and bottle of cava for my partner's birthday were a lovely little touch as well. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be returning.

This is a lovely converted period barn with an open plan kitchen/living space & spiral staircase leading to a mezzanine bedroom with a king sized bed and small en-suite shower room. Two miles from the North Norfolk coast with great pubs and walks.
There is a car parking space available and a seating area outside, which is a great sun trap.
  • Poppy Barn is a stylish and comfortable place to stay in a lovely quiet location, but within easy reach of the coast by car. Lots of local information was on hand and the facilities were everything that you need for a relaxed stay. We would definitely recommend to others and will be staying again ourselves!

    Jan2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great week’s stay at Poppy Barn, we particularly enjoyed the quiet location and the really well designed accommodation. There are loads of lovely places to visit, often within 20 minutes drive. We have an electric car and Emma and the team very helpfully provided a cable for us to charge our car overnight. All in all we had a fantastic week.

    Jim2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Poppy Barn was really special and perfect for a Norfolk getaway. The space itself is lovely and full of thoughtful little touches. Genuinely one of my favourite places I’ve stayed in recent times. The cottage was also secluded, communication was great and there were some great suggests of local places to eat at or visit in the pack provided. Overall great! Hope to come back one day!

    Phil2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning mini-barn, beautifully appointed, very comfortable and stylish. Lovely outdoor seating area. Lots of amazing places to visit nearby and fantastic restaurants dotted around the area. Couple of negatives - the shower door leaked badly, but hopefully easily resolved ahead of future visits (?). Communication was a bit slow throughout (beforehand and during), but not really an issue. We didn't meet owner or manager, so no personal contact, again not a concern for us, but overall, it just didn't feel very can-do/friendly - but it's a minor gripe and shouldn't put anyone off going to Poppy Barn - we absolutely loved our stay there!

    Katherine2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This barn is truly a beautiful stay! The photos don’t do it justice. When we arrived there was milk, juice, bread, butter and jams laid out. In the cupboard was coffee, teabags and sugar. There was a whole folder of local recommended restaurants and activities, which we used a lot to help plan our days out! In the folder there are directions of how to walk to the closest pub, but we would probably suggest not doing this as there aren’t any pavements to walk on. There’s a huge TV along with lots of DVDs to choose from and some board games. The location itself is really good - bang in the middle of all the places we wanted to visit (Holt, Wells, North Norfolk Railway, Norfolk Lavender etc). The use of our own driveway for the car was very useful. Thanks very much, we can’t wait to come back again!

    Leena2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at the superbly converted barn. Stylishly fitted out with everything you need. It’s wonderfully quiet.

  • What a gorgeous cottage and beautiful surroundings....local amenities and ease of communication with both James and Jenny was brilliant. A wonderful place to explore such beautiful places, towns, beaches and tasty places to eat and drink...and then so cozy to come back and put the wood burning fire on. We are a family of four and our holiday was loved by us all....and we are already planning when we can next return. We would highly recommend this place.

  • Lovely stay in Holt, the house is lovely and the owners were brilliant at communicating. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thank you.

    Abbie2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here as a family of 4 - it's such a lovely little cottage in a brilliant location. Has everything you need with the bonus of being able to BBQ in the back yard. Parking restrictions are a bit of a pain but not too restrictive. We tended to park outside overnight, move down the road at 9am then bring it back when we headed out later in the morning with arms full of beach/kids stuff! The surrounding area is so nice and lots to do in easy driving distances. The house itself is beautifully decorated and was plenty big enough for us. The only negative comment I can think of is the double bed needs a new mattress! Can thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Within 15 mins you can be in Wells next the Sea, Sheringham or Cromer. Care should be taken with young children due to paddle style stairs and also the adjacent river.
  • The annex is a beautiful little property, full of character and in beautiful surroundings. From the moment we arrived Steve made us feel really welcome whilst giving us the space we needed ; the perfect host! The area is stunning with lots of pretty beaches and villages a short drive away. I look forward to returning as soon as we can to this little piece of paradise.

  • Such a cosy and lovely place. It was perfect for me and my two kids and our dog, everything we needed!

    Hannah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My two daughters, dog and I had the happiest stay while in Norfolk visiting friends in Holt. Steve was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The space was perfect for us, the girls loved their room and the super cool stairs. It was comfortable and cosy - we would love to return again in the future.

    Charlotte2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place - our boys loved the stairs and the little stream in the garden! Steve was a great host and Excellent at communication and responses. Adequate amenities to make simple meals if that’s your thing - the nearest shops are a 5 min drive away if you run out of anything. Good for country walks - definitely pack your wellies! The only little niggle was the WiFi signal - kept cutting out, so if you need to stay connected, that might be a little bit of an issue. Will look to book again when we next visit Holt!

    Amanda2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A great location and a lovely cozy place.

    Clint2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Annex was such a cosy little getaway! Beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches throughout. It was very peaceful at night as it’s right next to a little stream. There were four of us staying and plenty of room, you could probably fit a fifth person if you were all well acquainted! Steve was a lovely host, he was very warm and welcoming and super attentive! He had lots of great recommendations and he’s in the cottage right next door so not far if you need anything! North Norfolk is stunning, definitely recommend staying @ The Annex.

With a love for all things Modernist and a passion for wood, The Space has been created exclusively for those looking for a different place to stay in North Norfolk. With high angled ceilings and modern sliding doors to the deck, this is a great space to retreat to, whatever the season. In autumn and winter, the log burner and under floor heating create a scandi ‘hygge’ feel. While in spring and summer, the views out to the meadow and orchard connect with nature and give you space to breathe.
The handmade ply kitchen has everything you need with gas oven and hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. We will ensure you have some dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid and cloths to get you started. We supply logs (for your arrival) for the wood-only burner. There are two ground floor en-suite bedrooms, plus a small mezzanine (in the second bedroom with a small double Futon sofa) – this can either be another space to relax or for an extra person to sleep (please note it is accessed via a steep wooden ladder staircase at your own discretion). There will be an additional cost of £30 per night for a person to sleep here. The en-suite bathrooms have walk-in showers, underfloor heating and warming towel rails. We do supply eco-friendly hand wash and room fresheners. You have exclusive use of the enclosed courtyard with BBQ. We like to make you feel at home, so there will be some ready to heat croissants in the freezer, milk, tea, coffee and wine when you arrive. You are welcome to arrange a supermarket delivery but please ensure it won’t arrive until you do, as we can’t always guarantee we will be here to receive it for you. We do allow one dog per stay for an additional £30, which we can add to your bill once you've booked. Please let us know about your dog before you arrive and note our rules around climbing on beds and furniture etc. We do have two dogs so please only bring your four legged friend if they are sociable.
North Norfolk’s landscape is all about space, with big skies, salt marshes, creeks and vast sandy beaches. Whether you enjoy bird watching, sailing, walking or just relaxing on the beach there is something for everyone to enjoy in the big outside. We are located a few miles from the Georgian town of Holt, with other lovely towns/villages nearby (Blakeney, Cley, Wells, Sheringham, Burnham Market to name a few). There are National Trust properties very close as well as the large Norfolk Estates of Holkham and Houghton. We even have the smaller estates of Stody and Heydon close by – which are a bit of a hidden gem. There are lots of beautiful wedding locations close by and we are always happy to welcome guests who are here to celebrate someone's big day. We'll leave you some notes in The Space about other places to visit and are happy to chat to you when you arrive and start planning your time with us.
  • Dear Denise and family, We had a super relaxing stay at your lovely cottage. The perfect place: for sleeping in, having lazy breakfasts in the sun filled living room, long beach walks, coming back to a super cosy place to play cards in front of the fire and to cook delicious dinners. We are hoping to be back soon.

  • We had a really peaceful and cosy stay at this beautiful house. The Scandi design appealed which is what attracted me to booking it initially, and the space was even more gorgeous in person. The kitchen is very well equipped and it was a real treat to have a wood burner. You need to have a car but there are nice towns and walks to explore locally and a farm shop around a 5-10 min drive away. Would 100% recommend The Space.

  • We had a great weekend in The Space. It is an amazing building which is spacious as well as cosy. We had our first weekend away with our five month old daughter and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We would definitely like to go back and I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone else!

  • It was a perfect little hideaway for all the family. We loved it and are rather disappointed to return home today!

  • The space is a really good place to chill out and really relax. Our kids had a wonderful time exploring Norfolk and we were made very welcome by our charming hosts. 5 *

  • Thank you to Denise & Family for our stay at “The Space”. My family and I had a wonderful stay this weekend. Our children loved it & were sad to leave. Denise was a lovely host & was very thoughtful. After a wet & windy day at the beach, it was lovely to come back to relax next to the warm, cosy fire. I highly recommend Denise & her beautiful home to you all. X

  • A stunning piece of interior design in a lovely location! I'm trying hard to find something to criticise. This was the best equipped Airbnb I've ever stayed in! It was sparkling clean, everything worked and it felt so homely.

    Johannes2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic accommodation. Stunning views and lovely and quiet. A great deal of thought has gone into the planning of 'The Space'. The rooms and facilities are like a 5* hotel and touches like wine and chocolate bread for the kids do make a difference. Denise couldn't have been more helpful and we are already planning our next trip.

Originally forestry workers' cottages, this is the end of four and faces the open fields and the ancient Swanton Great Wood. Peaceful, quiet, relaxing, out of the way, it's at the end of a very quiet lane with no traffic, just the odd dog walker or bird watcher passing the house. There is a large garden full of trees which is a real treat on a summer's evening, sitting out watching deer and barn owls across the field. Ideally placed for exploring North Norfolk and the coast.
The house has been recently refurbished with a new boiler, radiators, dishwasher, smart TV, Alexa, etc. and full redecoration.
Well placed in central north Norfolk between the lovely towns of Holt and Fakenham, with the coast and Blakeney less than 8 miles away, and Norwich 22 miles away.

Brooke Cottage is quite simply everything you would imagine from a traditional old Norfolk cottage. Grade II listed, and dating from the 17th century, there's a huge inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove, a twisty, steep winder staircase, original pine latched doors, a lovely brass bed and views over the green of an historical village. The cottage is furnished beautifully with period and comfortable furniture. The doors are low so you may need to remember to duck your head! The cottage is situated in a peaceful and pretty area on a quiet country lane. The River Stiffkey runs through the village and there is a ford to drive through - although there is an alternative route if you wish! The popular coastal resort of Wells-next-the-Sea with its independent shops, cafes, restaurants, fabulous Quay and stunning beach is a few minutes’ drive away. Additional Information Two well behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Norfolk Winder stairs are, as with older character cottages, enclosed, steep, curved and narrow. At Brooke Cottage they are wooden with a vertical hand rail. Please note: there is renovation work being carried out at the property opposite Brooke Cottage. This should cause minimal disruption but there could be some noise during working hours only. Ground Floor: Kitchen Bespoke fitted kitchen with wooden work tops. Microwave, electric oven and hob, fridge with icebox, dishwasher. Pamment flooring and beamed ceiling. Utility room/cloakroom With a washing machine and wc. Sitting/dining room Lovely cosy room with window seat looking over the village green. Large brick inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, a dining table and chairs. Period features and beamed ceiling. Snug With a sofa bed, electric wood burner style fire, window seat, period features and beamed ceiling. Television with Freeview and DVD player. Steep Norfolk winder style stairs with hand rail First Floor: Bedroom one Twin room with sloped ceiling, two single beds and a view over the village green. Bedroom two King-size brass bed with double aspect windows to village green and lane. En-suite shower room With shower, wash basin and WC. Bathroom With a small bath, wash basin and WC. • Enjoyed a return visit to this lovely hideaway. Very peaceful location and all the necessary amenities both within the accommodation and in the village. Christine and Tony are great hosts there when you need them. An eclectic bungalow filled with art work and interesting artefacts. Lovely sunny outside area to have breakfast. Fabulous bakery/butchers and grocers in walking distance and a nice small town - Holt worth a visit close by. Ventured to Southwold in Suffolk which is a quintessential Victorian seaside resort - with beach huts. Tony really helped out directing us to local hostelries and places of interest to visit. Well certainly return.

If you go down in the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise and Bear’s Cottage is unique in every way. Beautifully remote and secluded, this delightful four bedroom holiday retreat sits amongst 200 acres of private woodland and offers pure escapism, in a wonderful location just a short drive from the beautiful North Norfolk coast. • Lovely and cosy, stayed here twice and would highly recommend. Kitchen well equipped, Val the host lives next door if you need her (we didn't). Really large garden, horses behind cottage who were really friendly. Nice walks nearby. Rental is a good price

  • I second all the previous reviews. Quiet, comfortable, well equipped, accurately described and warm even in January! An excellent rural hideaway for one or two.

  • A little gem of a place if what you are after is piece and quiet. Tranquil with easy walks. Take your bikes and cycle on the flats from village to village or around the coastline. Super garden for the dogs to run around and enjoy too. A great place for two people to get away from it all. And as all the other reviews will mention . . . Val is a lovely host who is always at hand if you need any advice on the area. Thank you Val and see you next year!
