  • Such a cute place to stay in the upper part of a beautiful character home. So clean and comfortable. Keegan and Radka were welcoming and very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this place. • This is a nice clean cozy little apartment. Hosts are excellent and made sure that everything was looked after. Cafe was closed for two of the days that I was there and they provided amazing breakfasts for me to heat up in the mornings. Had a hot delicious bowl of soup waiting for me when I arrived. Thank you!

    Shari2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. It's spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Has complete privacy after the cafe downstairs closes up in the afternoon. It's downtown Sointula, so an easy walk to the ferry, the store, the pub, the beach etc. Delicious breakfast and coffee is included, and it's so sweet to just walk downstairs and be in a bustling cafe!

  • This was easily the best AirBnB we ever had. The cottage is really cozy and is well equiped. The homemade granola and farm fresh eggs were a lovely treat. The view is just amazing and their property is really beautiful. The area is very calm and relaxed. We even had some deer visiting us in the morning. We will definitely come back to this awesome place.

  • Private place at the waterfront. Cozy and clean. Kate was superb with tips to get around the island and find the best spot to see marine wildlife. We saw sea lions and harbour porpoises, and an orca very close to the beach. Will definitely be back!

Welcome to our ocean front house with beach access. We've set aside 2 rooms for you to use. One is a Queen Bedroom and the other has 2 Single beds and a balcony for private use. We've set up a toaster, coffee maker, table, chairs, and a TV in the Single room. The only people sleeping in that room would be if you are a party of 3-4. The Hot Tub and outdoor fire pit are also for your use. And of course you're welcome to hang out downstairs in the sitting area or in the Library nook.
Back bedroom with view to Alert Bay has a queen bed. Front private sitting room has a set of bunk beds, chairs, table, mini fridge, coffee maker, and private balcony with vast ocean view.
Hyde Creek is a rural community 10 minute drive from Port McNeill, 20 minute drive from Telegraph Cove. Central to many day trip adventures such as San Jo Beach, Alert Bay, Sointula, Port Hardy, and many day hikes.
  • A fantastic home in a superb location overlooking the sea and the mountains beyond. The room and house are very comfortable and Terrence and Terry Ruth are welcoming hosts. Everything about the stay was excellent - the pre-arrival communication , the welcome into the house, the comfy bed, coffee and breakfast amenities and the highlight of soaking in the hot tub overlooking the water. Would thoroughly recommend!

  • Lovely stay with even more lovely hosts. The place was so beautiful and offered a breathtaking view over the ocean (sunrise 10/10). Terry Ruth and Terrence were very hospitable and communicated quickly. In about 20 minutes you can drive to multiple kayakking excursions in the neighboorhood. Would definitely go here again!

Dockside Airbnb is a waterfront facility on beautiful Rough Bay. The building once occupied by Sointula's Co-Op Wild Foods Company. Dockside Airbnb is a 1000 sq.ft area that has been converted into a lovely living space for short term stays. The Dockside Airbnb area includes a large Kitchen (with a few funky pieces remaining from its restaurant days), 2 large Bedrooms. 3 Bathroom, 2 Showers, Large Living Room, and Dining areas. All common areas overlook the ocean view.
This spacious and enchanting building is situated in the heart of Sointulas quaint community center, because of its "heart" location, the building holds a great deal of importance to Sointulan history.
Conveniently located right by BC Ferries, Co-operative grocery store, Museum, Coffee shops, Bakery, and Pub. Most popular are the Beautiful Bay Trail, Bare point Beaches, Sunsets, Whale Watching and if you like arranged fishing charters.
  • Amazing space, with vista to match, from which to base a stay on Malcom Island. Perfect location on Island, opposite well stocked local Co-op store and easy walking to a few local trails.

  • Phantastic Location, beautiful living room, spacious sleeping rooms, comfy beds, best view. We booked originally only 3 night and spontaneously added 1 night as we loved being in this house and in Sointula sooo much. We will defiantly come back. Thanks Carolann and Sarah

    Rebecca2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • *such* an amazing space if you're a foodie and want to cook (huge ex-commercial kitchen which is brilliant for cooking in as a group) , comfy cute little spaces to relax and enjoy the outstanding views from. A little short on space in the bathrooms but incredible value. Highly recommended.

    Erin2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is perfect and the views are amazing. Incredible amount of room. Lovely host. Thank you!

    Jessica2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place! Spacious, great views, huge kitchen, lots of bathrooms, and as central as you can get! We loved our stay!

    Dana2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this eclectic space! It was once a restaurant, a bakery and under it a herring roe warehouse right next to the Ferry. There were all kinds of extras...BBQ, dishes galore, lots of utensils, games, binoculars. Our generous hosts helped us out with some logistics while we were out Scuba diving all day(Sun Fun diving Port McNeil). World class diving with Orca, Humpback, sea otters, porpoises on the surface. A day stop at Orca Lab. Gobsmacking place on the planet. We had 5 adults in the space with two dogs and lots of room! Thanks again!

    Janice2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and first time in Sointula and the experience was wonderful. The space provided was awesome in size and in character and having our 2 dogs with us and not being crammed into a hotel/motel size room was a pleasure. The ocean views are amazing and the location could not be any more central to everything especially the ferry being right next door. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others with no hesitation.

Come stay in my recently renovated, private, Wild Coast suite. The unit is thoughtfully laid out around a stunning ocean and mountain view with a queen bedroom, full kitchen and bath, living area, and shared laundry/mudroom - plenty of space for a couple, or small family. Located on a quiet residential street, less than 15 minutes walking to the downtown core, it's a perfect place to bring your pets and boat, RV, whatever your heart desires - there's plenty of safe parking, and I love animals!
The space is cozy and warm, not a lot of extras, just a simple relaxing place to stay while accessing all the adventures the North Island has to offer. There is no cable TV, although high speed fiber optic internet is included, easily capable of streaming high quality video and live feeds. The mudroom is available for secure interior storage and there is also an industrial sink and chest freezer as needed. (Please no fish cleaning at the house, there is curious wildlife about!).
The suite is located in a very quiet neighbourhood on a residential street with little traffic. There are lots of nearby trails for walking and exploring, beach access is only a 10 minute walk away, and the downtown core is less than 15 minutes walking distance.
  • Lukas has a gem of a rental spot! It is a very spacious 1 bedroom and it really does have a sweeping ocean view, complete with its own pair of bald eagles, reliably perched in an otherwise bare tree in the middle of your view. He is excellent at answering questions before and during your stay and has done everything to make the place feel like a home. There is a lot of things to do in the area if you are into forests, oceans, lakes or rivers and all that go with it. Telegraph Cove is just down the road for some amazing guided kayak adventures or grizzly bear tours. I really cannot recommend highly enough. I even had a luxurious bath!

    Dianne2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A great find! Wonderful host and space! Highly recommend!

    Ann2019-08-15T00:00:00Z

  • perfect holidays ;)

    Myriam2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The communication with Lukas was super smooth, he is a very nice host who gives you all the privacy you want and at the same time gives you the feeling of being welcome. He is always there for questions or in case you need something! We enjoyed the flat very much! The view is fantastic and had a fabulous stay!

    Alexandra2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lukas has a terrific home and what a blessing to get to stay there. It is plenty big for many people but enjoyable for just one. Out back I watched three bald eagles for several hours as they called to each other and swooped down and it was delightful and being able to look out on the ocean. I also saw a black bear around the corner on Mine Street. I'd highly recommend staying with Lukas, you can launch from there to go to Port Hardy or Port Alice or Telegraph Cove there are great restaurants in Port McNeill as well. Enjoy

    Annie2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • A nice place to stay with chattering bald eagles!

    Almuth2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lukas is such a nice guy! The communication between us was just perfect! Thanks so much, Lukas, for the invitation to your Barbecue and the really helpful local tipps! We enjoyed our conversations a lot and like we said we learnt a lot about wildlife and your job as a biologist! It felt like home from the beginning on. The view is just stunning!!! And Port McNeill is such a nice place to stay and to discover the surrounding. We stayed 6 days, but we could have stayed longer. Thanks a lot for everything! And you are always welcome, when you come to Germany! We would love to host a Barbecue for you :-) Cheers Kevin and Lara

It is a cozy little Room with a Stunning view
  • Where do I start? The Orca lodge more than exceeded our expectations. The location was walking distance to all the local businesses. The room had an amazing ocean view that you could enjoy either on the patio or from the bed. The host made an extremely helpful tour guide of the island for easy reference of trails, things to do, maps, etc.. We made use of the hot plate, toaster oven, and small bbq as we packed the mini fridge full of food because in the less busy seasons for Sointula there isn’t much dining open or the days/times vary. The room also came with dishes, cookware, tea/instant coffee. The cable tv was nice in our down time and being pregnant I really enjoyed the open layout in the bathroom as there’s no climbing into the shower. I could say so much more but I will end with Lynne was an incredible host and the lodge made for a magical and relaxing stay and we cannot wait to return.

  • Lynne was very accommodating and friendly. She was informative on Malcolm Island, the ferry schedules, and provided us with some places to visit while on the island. Lynne was easy to contact if things when awry, and let us know all the ins and outs prior to arrival.

The perfect place to stay while visiting or working in Port McNeill. The Suite is right at the waterfront , the view is fabulous, and it has a deck on the waterside. The suite is newly renovated, kitchen and bath are brand new. You will have everything you need for a comfortable, peaceful, relaxing stay in our beautiful little town. The wifi is excellent. There is an eagles nest very close, and you can watch them come and go. 20 minute drive from Telegraph Cove.
This is a great space for a longer term stay in Port McNeill. Please message me and we can sort out details.
The apartment is walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is very close to the Alert Bay/Sointula Ferry. It is the perfect to spot to plan a North Island holiday filled with whale watching, grizzly bear watching, bird watching, hiking or just enjoying the beautiful fresh air.
  • Excellent location. Delighted to sea the bald eagle every day, and some great bird watching ( for a Brit) from the balcony and along the road. Great location for exploring northern Vancouver Island. Lovely comfy flat.

    Helen2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice top floor apartment with a wonderful view over the water immediately below. Ideally placed for whale watching trips (locally or from Telegraph Cove) or taking the ferry to nearby islands like Alert Bay. The apartment is sparkling clean and extremely comfortable with 2 spacious double bedrooms, a nice bathroom (with decent shower above the bath), stylish sitting / dining area and well equipped kitchen. Elizabeth kindly left some essentials in the fridge which were much appreciated. Parking is easy on the quiet street outside. Communication with Elizabeth was superb throughout. A good supermarket is 2 minutes drive away. Very strongly recommended.

    James2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely view and great location. You can even walk to the supermarket too. The kitchen is equipped with all you need including condiments which are especially helpful when you make your own meals. Check in was easy, the door was open and keys on the counter. There is a washer and dryer and detergent. Everything is taken care of in this Airbnb which is rare. The couch was cozy and their is a lovely view from the balcony. Thanks for hosting us Liz!

    Michele2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth has a wonderful and clean appartment. An amazing view and an amazing host. We saw lots of eagles, a seal and a bear! from the balcony. The town and ferry are both in walking distance. Elizabeth is very thoughtful and did everything to give us a wonderful time.

    Melissa2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Basic but very clean apartment with a nice view. Elizabeth had filled the fridge for us with some basics. Thank you! Great place for tours to Alert Bay and Telegraph Cove (eg for bear tour).

    Julia2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say that Port McNeill was our favorite spot on Vancouver Island, but if you're staying in that area, this apartment is the place to stay! The building itself isn't anything to write home about, but Elizabeth has made this particular apartment really nice. Excellent updates inside, and the eagles outside make this a memorable rental. Elizabeth obviously cares about her renters, and she's taken great care to provide updates to the apartment, and helpful information about the area.

    Wendy2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy and super clean, with a spectacular view.! Host Elizabeth is very helpful and easy to contact.

    Wendy2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth’s place was the best place we stayed at in our whole 3 weeks on Vancouver Island. She left us some provisions in the fridge (eggs, bagels, butter, milk etc) which was very much appreciated. The flat it’s self was perfect for my son and I. It was very clean and stylish and the beds are super comfy. We really liked that there were tips about what to do locally in the flat as well. The view from the balcony is amazing! We loved the sea view so much. I am an amateur nature photographer and I was overjoyed to find Bald Eagles nesting a few trees away from the property. Seriously I could not have wished for better. It’s really close to the lovely Archipelago Bistro (which we highly recommend) and easy walking distance to the Marina. If you book a nature watch, Seawolf Adventures are an absolute must, again in easy walking distance and run by expert First Nation guides. We caught a ferry to Alert Bay one day too. If you book here, you will not be disappointed!

Our wonderful waterfront home has a detached one bedroom suite, queen bed in bedroom, full futon in living room, private entrance, full 3 piece bathroom. Use of washer and dryer, BBQ and waterfront deck, street is quiet. Suite includes microwave, beer fridge, and coffee maker. We love having our guests, but if they want complete privacy we will respect that too, continental breakfast is included. If you have any restrictions just let us know.
Watch the wildlife from our deck, or take a whale watching tour. Make this your home base for trips to Sointula or Alert Bay. If you kayak or canoe, this is a great spot to do it and you can launch from our yard...
We are located approximately 1 mile from town and our local pub! We are a friendly and welcoming community.
  • The location is fantastic - beach front with great views over to Malcolm and Cormorant islands. Julie is a truly wonderful host who is generous and welcoming. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the facilities excellent. Lovely breakfasts, and decking to sit out on with a cold beer in the evening! Highly recommended.

  • This was just a wonderful AirBNB. From the warm hospitality of the hosts, Julie and Tom, to the gorgeous view right on the water, to the cozy, clean and comfortable furnishings and the delicious breakfast, this is a terrific place to land if you’re coming up to the area.

    Lynn2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Julie is fabulous, comely and discreet at the same time. She and Tom give us a lot of information about all the wildlife around, restaurants and even a super glass of wine!

  • Highly recommend - this is a really lovely place to stay in a great location. Friendly hosts happy to offer useful local advice and suggestions but then leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet. So many thoughtful touches from the binoculars to the games to the fabulous and varied breakfasts. Amazing view from the living room and balcony. We were over the moon to see from the balcony a black bear further down the beach and a pod of orcas out at sea and the local bald eagle in the tree. We stayed 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Book here and you will be so pleased that you did. Thank you for making our birthday and honeymoon stay so special.

    Diane2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Bill are so friendly and kind. Their place is cozy and sparkling clean. The views are gorgeous and insist that you just sit and relax to absorb the grandeur of nature around you. We loved sinking into comfortable deck chairs as we watched eagles swoop and dive over the water just a few meters away. Fresh blueberries and lovely homemade ham and Swiss cheese quiches capped off our stay. Thank you!

    Aaron2019-11-18T00:00:00Z

  • A wonderfully unique experience and a great base from which to explore Cormorant Island. Lovely hosts who make every effort to make your stay perfect.

  • Kathleen & Marvin were wonderful hosts. They made themselves very reachable, answered any questions we had and are some of the most friendly people we have met! Their boat is absolutely beautiful and very cozy! If you have a deep love for the water and boats, then this experience will be right up your alley!!

  • If you are looking for a unique place to stay while you are visiting picturesque and historic Alert Bay, the Dockside in the Bay which is located on a 70 foot boat the Passagemaker 1 is your best bet. It was great to have the boat to ourselves and it felt like a home away from home; a well equipped kitchen , cozy den, ample dining space, warm cozy beds including one special nook for snorers, short walk from the ferry and the boardwalk where you can watch the sunrise or just people watch. The freshly baked bread awaiting you in the kitchen is a delicious treat when you check in. Kathleen and Marvin were there to meet us at the ferry dock and give us a tour of their boat and its amenities.

  • Fantastic location. Wonderful hosts

    Kevin2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our time in Alert Bay was such a fantastic experience. We absolutely loved the uniqueness of the Passagemaker1 and were suprised with how spacious it was. Kathleen and Marvin are wonderful hosts that go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable aboard their spotlessly clean and comfortable ship. The town itself was full of wonderful surprises such as beautiful First Nations totem poles, impressive museum and even a delicious sushi/Mexican restaurant! The locals were so friendly and welcoming. We even were gifted the most delicious piece of freshly caught halibut! We'll be back for sure Passagemaker1 for sure!

This small apartment has a private patio and full kitchen with oven. From your private deck overlooking the ocean you can watch the boats go by and wait for the gorgeous sunset. We have no mosquitoes here so you can leave your patio door open and go to sleep with the sound of waves lapping on the beach and ocean breezes cooling your room at night. There is a 7 % tax occupancy tax collected at time of arrival.
Sointula is a historical Finnish village. We have a wonderful museum here and there are still people here who speak Finnish. The island is surrounded by easy walking beaches and hiking trails from easy to more difficult. Free bikes are available for guests use. We can show you where the best hiking trails are and we have a pub downstairs with a library full of old books. If you find one you like you can take it home with you. But the best part is the deck overlooking the ocean- so peaceful sitting on your deck and watching the beautiful sunsets.
We have great whale watching in this area and sports fishing. We can help arrange boat charters for full days of fishing or just going out for a wildlife cruise. Maybe you just want to catch some crab and have it for dinner. Let us know how we can make your stay here with us a memorable experience.
  • Thank you for a great stay Robin & Ray! I was able to park my motorcycle right beside the side door to bring my things up/downstairs. The space was the best stay I have had and look forward to coming back again. The kitchen had everything that one would need. Amazing views from the two sitting rooms; the blankets made it perfect to sit while the sun set. The space was clean and cozy. The pub next door was more of a shoulder shrug. I didn’t like the smoking on the patio thing. But I believe this is allowed in other places too. Didn’t affect my stay which was amazing. Going to the various spots to see on the island made the Oceanfront a great central place to be.

Disconnect and reconnect at this beautiful off grid waterfront acreage in the heart of the forest and steps from the ocean. Our Cozy and comfy waterfront Avion Trailer goes beyond the glamping experience. Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine gazing at the endless stretches of Broughton Strait. This beautiful Avion has everything you need to relax, renew and connect to nature. It offers comfortable simplicity. Step out of your busy life and into nature.
This aluminum Avion 34V is located steps from your extremely private beach, the trailer has all the amenities you could desire while being off grid this is thanks to a new generation of composting toilets that uses moisture separation as well as a continues draw fan to draw out odour and keeps composting material dry and stink free
The property was purchased by my family on 1904 and plays a part of Sointula’s history the towns blacksmith shop was once located steps from the campers location.
  • Such an awesome spot! We will definitely be coming back in the summer. Juanita and Connor were fabulous hosts. They were super quick to respond to an issue we had and made sure we were all settled. Highly recommend!

  • A glamping experience with all the extras. Serene and quiet forest stay with spectacular oceanfront views. Amazing bird watching, whale watching, tidal pool exploring. Attentive and friendly hosts. Romantic getaway that accommodates pets and a great family vacay!

  • This was my second visit this summer and it was just as magical as the first. The location is so peaceful, the RV is so well equipped, and the beach is full of firewood - no chopping required! Juanita is a lovely host and very easy to communicate with. I can’t wait to try out winter camping at this slice of heaven.

    Jessica2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! We had such a peaceful and serene stay. Walking the beach, hanging out in the hammock, sitting around a beach fire and just sitting listening to nature either in the forest, on the beach or coming from the ocean. Our 2 dogs had a blast running around the beach. We didn't to see any Minke whales but had regular visits from a bald eagle and the biggest raven I have ever seen! Being off the grid was not an issue. We never ran out of electricity and the compost toilet is very easy to use. They have thought of everything when it comes to great places to sit with enough chairs to sit by the trailer, near the trailer with a view of the beach (with the hammock) and fold up chairs to take down to the beach. There is a really creative and cool walkway to get from the trailer to the beach. It feels natural and rustic yet comfortable and well thought out. The only small draw back was the beds are not the most comfortable but also not the worst. I mean you are staying in an RV not a 5 star hotel. So bottom line, for us it was everything we hoped for and more!

    Gloria2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very special place. It feels like a private oasis nestled on the edge of the beach in the woods. The space is very well tended and taken care of with everything you might need for an outdoor haven. The airstream itself is so fun! Lots of little cupboards and closets with creative uses of space. We were able to cook some simple meals (definitely needed as there are only two restaurants in town and only one that serves dinner). I highly recommend and would return for sure!

Our place is close to the best beaches and family-friendly activities. You’ll love The Oceanfront Hotel because of the wonderful breezes blowing gently through your room and going to sleep with the sound of waves lapping on the beach outside your room. Enjoy the view from your deck. The Oceanfront Hotel is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families and pets. It is so peaceful here- just the sound of the ocean! Very comfortable, beautiful surroundings, and a great location. No hesitation for a strong recommendation from us.

  • This place was INCREDIBLE. As soon as we arrived on property, my boyfriend and I were upset that we couldn't stay longer than our one scheduled night! The suite was spacious, cozy, and clean. There were snacks up for grabs around the house, and chocolate covered strawberries were waiting for us when we arrived. We were realistically just looking for a bed to rest in after a long day of traveling, but this place far exceeded our expectations! We loved the small touch of having board games, snacks for grabs, and breakfast items (eggs, milk, coffee, bread, etc) ready to go before we ventured out in the morning. Thank you Casey for being so hospitable, friendly, welcoming, and patient with our late arrival!

    Maddy2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a good time. We rented the appartment which was quite adequate for 2 persons. It is made from wood and has a wonderfull view of the Northern starting point of Johnstone Straight. We used this location as it was easy to get to Alert Bay. Sointula, Port Hardy and esprcially to Telegraph Cove for whale and grizzly bear trips . The appartment was clean and well stocked.

    Hans2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • My experience far exceeded my expectations. The place has an incredible view, is immaculate, the hosts are welcoming and friendly and there was breakfast and snacks. Even laundry facilities! The bed is comfortable, the bath tub is huge, the Wifi is good and the sweet yellow lab is a bonus. Casey met me personally and couldn’t have been more welcoming. My best Airbnb stay so far.

Hyde Creek Manor House is a 2-storey building with a total floor area of 3,500 square feet. My wife and I live on the first floor, which is more than spacious enough for our needs. The ground floor consists of a double garage and the guest suite, which is the space where you would be living. The guest suite has its own entrance on the ocean side of building, and consists of a living/dining room, kitchen with walk-in pantry, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms (1 1/2 baths). The main rooms all have unobstructed ocean views.
Hyde Creek is a small seaside community situated between Port McNeill and Telegraph Cove. It takes about 5 minutes to drive to Port McNeill, and 20 minutes to Telegraph Cove.
  • Richard and his place are amazing!

    Steve2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Richard was an awesome host and went out of his way to accommodate the crew, including ordering a hockey package so they could watch the game. The place is in a beautiful setting and in the lovely small community of Hyde Creek.

    Ben2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Richard is a very nice host who welcomed us warmly. The location right on the water is ideal. We saw a bald eagle directly. According to Richard, you can often see whales from the house. The apartment is equipped with everything needed for a round trip. Even from the bedroom you can look at the water. We will stay here again, should we ever again to Vancouver Iceland.

    Tobias2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay!

    Lisa2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location to visit the north of the island and especially discover telegraph cove. Even though we arrived too late to observe the orcs, we were able to rest at Richard's house and enjoy a bird's eye view of the Pacific. He took the time to welcome us, to make us discover the accommodation and even called, for us, the companies for a trip out to sea to observe the marine fauna. Very spacious accommodation, very clean, very well located, I recommend it without problem!

    Sonia2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Richard was our first experience of AirBnB and his place has set a very high standard, we really can’t recommend it highly enough. We spent most of our three day stay (we booked two, but stayed an extra day) transfixed by the views from his beach side deck. This included seeing a minke whale within ten minutes of arriving (sadly it’s only showing) plus regular appearances by sea lions, eagles, herons and other wildlife. In addition to this the sunsets and-ever changing view were breath taking. There is also a covered deck next to the apartment so when the weather is not kind it’s still possible to be outdoors and see the view. The apartment is really well equipped with everything you need for a great stay. Richard was available with great advice and local knowledge. He was also helpful offering to book our whale watching tour (we went with McKay’s which you should definitely do if you stay in the area). The apartment was spotlessly clean and we had daily room service that would put many hotels to shame.

    Mark2019-09-18T00:00:00Z

Our place is a 3 minute drive/15 minute walk from downtown Port McNeill and the ferry to Alert Bay and Sointula. We are a half hour drive from the Port Hardy Airport and the Port Hardy/Prince Rupert ferry to the central coast. Telegraph Cove is a 25 minute drive away. The turn off to Mt. Cain a 50 minute drive from here.
  • We had a great stay at Autumn’s place! Travelling enroute to Haida Gwaii and spent a night to rest before the long ferry ride from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert. It was the perfect resting spot, Autumn is a lovely host, there was a freshly baked loaf of bread waiting for us and we woke up to a stunning view! Vancouver Island at its best! Thanks again Autumn!

  • This was a lovely suite and would be perfect for a family to stay. Really appreciated the fresh bread and eggs too!

    Graham2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was for one night. Check in couldn't have been easier and like other reviews, the place was extremely clean and comfortable. The house has an excellent ocean view from the large front window. Since it is a proper 2 home duplex, you don't feel like you are staying in a shared home and you aren't confined to a basement suite which is often the case with vacation rentals. The loaf of bread waiting on arrival was a nice touch and the pantry was nicely stocked for breakfast. All of the essentials are there for those that wish to bring groceries and prepare meals on site. The area also has some good restaurant and pub selections. I would certainly stay here again when I am in the area.

  • Autumn has a clean, comfortable AirBnb with great views and easy accessibility to lots of activities.

    Janet2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fresh homemade bread on arrival, fire pit and deck in the back yard, very clean and centrally located. Couldn’t have picked a better spot!

    Scott2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • What’s not to love about this place! Great size, and had a lovely homey feel to it which can be rare for Airbnb’s. Autumn is a great host and the surprise of warm homemade bread made us felt very welcoming. Highly recommend a stay here!

    David2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, well appointed place with a great view.

  • Couldn’t recommend the host more, we had some very bad last minute news and autumn pulled out all the stops to help us as much as possible. We would definitely use again. 5 stars for sure!

Enjoy your morning coffee and some of Francelia's fresh baked goodies as you soak in the tranquility of the true countryside. This newly built open concept style home offers a great space to relax in after a day of whale watching or site seeing at the local tourist attractions. Just a short distance to the oceanfront and Port McNeill's town centre, your private bedroom and shared bathroom is the perfect spot for a relaxing stay.
Morning coffee, tea, and baked goods in the morning are provided by Francelia and John. Small pets are welcome if they are friendly with other animals.
Just minutes from the water, a friendly and quiet rural neighbourhood.
  • A friendly, comfortable experience. Our Fur baby was warmly welcomed and she had a wonderful experience with Piper, the German Shepard, frolicking in the yard among the sheep.

    Peter2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house. Quiet fresh air and a comfy bed. Friendly well behaved dog. Loved our stay.

    Michael2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely new house in countryside with many animals :). John and Francesca live in this area since 30 years now so they are the best guides you can find! They are great hosts, I had a nice time there.

    Clarisse2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • I LOVED this place! If it were possible I'd give an additional star for general amazingness, they would get it. John and Fran are such genuinely openhearted and nice people that we instantly felt welcomed. Fran making breakfast from scratch is also a big perk. And their fur babies. We tried to steal one of their cats, but they noticed. Their pets are friendly but well trained/behaved so overall, 10/10 would come again!( and probably will) Oh, and the rooms are big and the beds are comfortable as well. Definitely a great place worth every penny.

Self contained cottage right on the secluded beach. Host is nearby if required.
Great network of forest walking trails to be discovered. Map is in cottage. Baseball field 1km away with evening games May to August.
  • The waterfront cabin of James is great! Awesome view, wildlife watching (saw almost all animals mentioned in former reviews) and sunsets. One of the best Airbnbs we ever stayed in!

    Philipp2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic accommodation. 3 nights were just too short. We would have liked to stay longer. The cabin has everything you need and is really right on the water. The sunsets are an absolute dream! And James is super friendly and genuinely nice, for example on the advice that there will be a power outage for the whole North on our first night and he will provide us with flashlights, or that he brought me my jackets to Vancouver, which I brought with him Hut forgot because luckily he was there too. Thanks to James Tipp we had a terrific Waltour in Telegraph Cove, where we saw an incredible number of whales. We enjoyed the place very much and if our destination will be Canada again, we will book our accommodation again with James :)

    Lisa2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a wonderful place and host, and you will get it!

    Sheila2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such an idyllic and peaceful location. You will struggle to find a place more intwined with nature or more relaxing than here. We were lucky to see a Black Bear on the far end of the beach the night we arrived, and saw Porpoise from the kitchen window, plus plenty of birds. Whilst we didn’t see James, he was really quick to respond each time we messaged and gave clear directions to find the place. We didn’t want to leave and would stay again in a heartbeat.

    Gavin2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • An extraordinary place! The holiday cabin we dream of: on the beach, quiet, sunset, with the visit of dolphins, seals and bears! Housing very well equipped (kitchen, barbecue). We did not meet James but the communication was excellent. Perfect !

    Rachel2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most beautiful and certainly the most tranquil location we’ve ever stayed at. The cabin’s location on the beach will suit anyone searching for peace and quiet and is a nature lover’s paradise. We shared this little corner of Vancouver Island with black bears, deer, porpoise, seals, bald eagles and any number of birds! James is an outstanding host with an obvious passion for the local area, where he grew up and still proudly calls home. Highly recommended.

    Matthew2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome view, great equipment. Best place to watch orcas! We‘ve loved this cottage directly at the shore! The perfect place to calm down and relax! We‘ve enjoyed our time very much. James is a great host. His recommandations were awesome!

    Rüdiger2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is one of those places you can go and forget about the rest of the world, if you want to take the time to switch off and chill then I strongly recommend booking. It’s simple, cozy and comfortable with one hell of a view!! If we could have stayed longer we would have.

  • We had an incredibly great stay. The house is in a great location and had a great view of the sea. It was also very well equipped. So we could z. B. also use the grill and make a campfire. Mike and Lilliana accompanied our stay very well. We received freshly baked bread and fruit as a welcome gift. In addition, the two have provided us with numerous tips for the environment. Thanks again, it was great!

  • Mike and Liliana hosted us in their beautiful and stylish 3 bed apartment. The instructions were clear and easy and the location was great with a beautiful view (when the fog cleared!). Clean, comfortable and with loads of information about the local area, it was a pleasure to stay here. When we arrived there was a loaf of delicious freshly baked bread which was a truly lovely touch. It was also lovely to meet Mike and get a bit more info about the area, what to do and about our hosts. I can not recommend this property highly enough.

  • Mike and Liliana were super with communication answering all my queries! The place was extremely clean and well kept and a nice retreat from the south of the island. I had a wonder around Port McNeil and just chilled there with a book. Great weekend retreat (and the fresh bread was delicious) - thank you!

  • Mike and Liliana were super nice hosts. You do not live in the house, but have looked over to greet us. The upper floor is also rented and the apartment is very clairaudient. You can use the washing machine and dryer, which is in a connecting / laundry room with the first floor shares, and which one can close. There is no real kitchen, but for a little bit it is enough. On arrival we had fresh bread, which we thought was great. There are dozens of DVDs to watch. Overall, we liked the accommodation very much.

Our modest home is available most of the summer. Fishing, whale-watching, bear viewing and forest walks are some of the activities Port McNeill has to offer. Public outdoor swimming pool, shops, cafes and restaurants are all within walking distance.
You will have the house to yourself. Our house is not fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. It's a good home base if you want to spend some time exploring the North Island from the comfort of a home. The ferry, bus stops and shops are all within walking distance and there's plenty of parking if you have your own car.
Our house is located on a no-through street, we have no special view from our home but most of Port McNeill is easily accessible from our house.
  • Very roomie and comfy. Clean and had everything we needed plus a great deal more. Couldn’t ask for a better home to stay in.

  • Huge thank you to Hannah and family for a wonderful 2 night stay in your house. A large, very relaxing, home away from home. Proactive communication. All round lovely visit.

Our place is close to the best beaches and family-friendly activities. You’ll love The Oceanfront Hotel because of the wonderful breezes blowing gently through your room and going to sleep with the sound of waves lapping on the beach outside your room. The Oceanfront Hotel is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families and pets. It is so peaceful here- just the sound of the ocean! There is a 15 % tax occupancy tax due upon arrival
When we ask people why they like Sointula so much, many of them say they like the silence here- no planes overhead, no sirens, no cars- just the sounds of nature.
Easy access beaches for kayaking and beach combing. Easy safe hiking trails! Warm & friendly people everywhere you go. The best thrift store, smoked salmon and beer with a view.
  • Waterfront location with a beautiful view, just steps fromt the Sointula ferry dock. The rooms are clean and the halls looked freshly painted. Nice home touches in the room, and ours had a fireplace, though we did not use it.

    Peter2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the Oceanfront Hotel in Sointula. We had great views of the sunsets over VI mountains from our room. We also recommend the halibut burgers at the burger barn. The museum was informative. Everyone was friendly and courteous.

  • Terrific host. Met us right away as we arrived. Gave us some tourist tips on places to see. They even parked their car to hold a spot in line for us to get on the ferry when we were leaving. Comfortable room with fabulous view of the ocean. Enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the waves crash in. Very close to ferry dock. Walking distance to nice bakery. Terrific scones. Skip the restaurant Coho Joes. Terrible pre warmed food.

    Teri2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted by our host and taken to our room overlooking the ocean. The room included many special touches such as handpainted lamp shades and hand made afghans on the deck chairs. The room had all the necessary amenities expected. Our hosts provided transportation to various local attractions and artists as well as arranging a private photo shoot for our group. The food in the restaurant was well prepared from a menu offering a variety of options. One of the nice things about the location was being next to the ferry dock and enjoying a coffee and treat from the bakery while watching the ferry arrive. All in all their were no disappointments and even the weather was warm and sunny. This is definitely and experience we would repeat at the Malcolm Island Inn.

Come and see what North Vancouver Island has to offer. As you sit in the hot tub you can observe the spectacular view of the Ocean and the Mainland Mountains. Very often we have Eagles, Deer and Bears in the green space adjacent to our home. We want you to feel at home in my home, just as if you are going to visit family. My home is located in a quiet neighbor hood and Breakfast (full hot and homemade) is served at your time, as you are the one who is on vacation.
We do have pets in the home and they are very well behave. The hot tubs are private ones so you will not be sharing with anyone. We will pick you up if needed or arrange to have a taxi come and get you. (taxi will be an added price)
Its in a quiet neighbourhood, we do have animals that wonder by the fenced area and an awesome view of the water and mountains
  • The welcome brownies & morning breakfast were brilliant! Thank you, Karen!
