The Garden Room at The Old Bakehouse. Self contained with independent access we have everything you need for a comfortable stay - high quality bedlinen; en suite bathroom with White Company toiletries; Nespresso machine; sunny breakfast space. On the edge of the Chilterns, a short drive from Tring Station, three trains an hour to London. Local attractions include Whipsnade Zoo, Tring Museum, The Making of Harry Potter at Leavesden Studios, Bletchley Park, Waddesdon Manor and the Ashridge Estate.
The Old Bakehouse was built around 1840 and The Garden Room was converted in 2018 from our office and shed. The bed is a handmade four poster UK king size with new Caspar mattress and good quality bedlinen, bedside lights, Kettle and Nespresso coffee machine, Sophie Conran crockery, White Company toiletries. We have a child's travel cot and a child's inflatable bed, but there's not much room although children are welcome. Before our time the privies for all five cottages (now only two) stood here. The Bakehouse was a two storey wooden building added on to the row, housing a communal bread oven for the cottages to reduce the risk of fire. In the 1980 the bakehouse was converted to the current main house sitting room and master bedroom. Access to Old Bakehouse is by foot from Chequers Lane along a short path in front of the adjoining house and through the gate pictured. Parking is in the street right outside. We'll make sure the nearest space is available for you. We are happy for dogs to stay so long as they have their own bed with them. Although all at ground floor level we are not DDA compliant.
The villages of Pitstone and Ivinghoe are at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. The modern Pitstone Green business park is a short walk away, but the most famous landmarks are Pitstone windmill and Ivinghoe Beacon. This is an excellent location for walkers, just a short step up to the Ridgeway national long distance footpath, ending at Ivinghoe Beacon, or the National Trust's Ashridge Estate 5000 acres of beech woodland. If you prefer to stay on the level, the Grand Union Canal and its subsidiaries can take you on the towpath to Tring Reservoirs or the nearby market towns of Wendover, Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard and Berkhamsted. Just round the corner in Pitstone there is a village shop, take away wood-fired pizzeria and Chinese restaurant. In Ivinghoe there is the local award winning Haldi Indian restaurant, CuriosiTea coffee shop and tea room, the Rose and Crown Pub and one of 'Britain's finest restaurants' The Kings Head. there is also a pharmacy, post office and shop, and hairdresser. Nearby in Tring there are three top class restaurants including Crockers Chef's Table. Pendley Manor and Ashridge House both popular wedding venues are a short drive away.
  • I had a wonderful stay at Avril's home. Such a beautiful and tranquil space with great amenities and thoughtful touches including the breakfast everyday and tea/coffee facilities in the room. I'd happily stay again if I was in the area. This location was perfect for my visit to Ashridge House.

The bedroom was clean and tidy, the bed was extremely comfortable and it was very quiet so had a great few nights sleep. A beautiful ground floor apartment situated in grounds with wonderful views over the chilterns. Would be great for anyone wanting a quiet time in the country or as a temporary residence for people in between house moves or in need of a short let.
It's very secure with security gates at the entrance. It's also quiet and has allocated parking spaces for cars but there are no spaces suitable for commercial vans.
Wingrave is a friendly village with a Pub, Church, Village shop and Post Office. There are two recreational grounds and lovely country walks.
  • Our second stay at this lovely apartment and we will be back. It’s exactly as described and the pictures are accurate. It’s comfortable, clean and has everything you need for a lovely break. I’d recommend this apartment.

  • What or where can I start , we arrived at a previous property at 9pm and was completely not what was described, frantically trying to find somewhere at that time of night Bridget came to the rescue quick response she even went and put the heating on for arrival and left some bits to tied us over for breakfast, the place was spotless and comfortable. Great amenities and great location. If you are looking for somewhere lovely to stay here is your best place.

  • Bridget’s place is fantastic and everything we needed for a relaxed weekend out of London. The place was clean, quiet and secure. Before the trip, Bridget was already in touch with detailed instructions on how to arrive and access the property. She even checked-in towards the evening as we had run past dinner time for our ETA just to make sure we weren’t lost. When we arrived, the house was already nice and warm, with a tea service at the ready and ample amount of towels. We spent 2 nights and had a nice peaceful sleep. For our check-out, we were lucky that there weren’t any bookings after us so Bridget got in touch that there was no need to rush. Suffice to say we were very happy with our weekend out and would be visiting again, hopefully during warmer weather so that our daughter can run around the massive garden.

  • I had to be in the village for a few days so it was a pleasure not to have to trek in and out every day. This was my first time at an airbnb. It was a cosy clean stylish apartment and everything had been thought of... thank you Bridget..

    Chris2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bridget’s place was a great flat in a lovely village. The flat was sparkling clean and with lots of thoughtful touches, such as flowers, tea and coffee and biscuits. Lots of toiletries and clean towels provided - it was a very well equipped flat. Very handy having two private parking spaces. Great to be able to walk to a pub and a shop. Bridget was very helpful throughout and incredibly quick to respond to any questions.

The Elephant Room is one of seventeen holiday properties at Town Farm, on the edge of the Chilterns. We are a working arable farm, with some sheep over the surrounding hills, we are lucky to have views over to Ivinghoe Beacon on one side, and Aylesbury Vale on the other. All the cottages each have their own unique charm, and we also run a campsite during the summer months. The `Pick Your Own` opens in June and guests can take a picnic and stock up on fruit and vegetables - this is a five minute drive away. It is only a ten minute drive to Tring Railway Station, shops and facilities, or a ten minute walk to Ivinghoe village, with pub, shop and tea room. London Euston is a 40 minute train ride from Tring Station. The Elephant Room is a first floor studio flat with kitchen area and separate shower room. The studio is furnished for a comfortable stay, with king size bed, TV and DVD player, digital radio and broadband access. The shower room has a basin, power shower and separate toilet. The kitchen corner is well equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment. Access to a washing machine and dryer is available by arrangement with the main house. The table has seating for two people. The property has access to a communal tennis court to hire and games room. There is also a shared garden available on the farm just a short walk away. This apartment is a serviced apartment which includes a weekly linen change for longer stays. Parking for one car is available on site. Wi-fi is included in the rental. This property is not suitable for pets or children. We request a refundable GBP100 damage deposit for stays of up to 27 days, and one week`s rental for stays of over 28 days. Please see our terms and conditions for further details.
All our properties on Town Farm are comfortably furnished and offer all the convenience of your own home, all with fully equipped kitchens, some with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Linen and towels are also provided, together with an information pack in the property, with a list of local activities and things to do. The location of the farm means that we have lovely views over the Vale of Aylesbury and Ivinghoe Beacon, so we are in the middle of the countryside, and yet only 10 minutes to shops, railway station and a wealth of activities the area has to offer.
We love the area because you can be in the middle of the countryside one minute and hopping on the train for a 50 minute ride to London the next. The Chilterns offer a wide variety of activities, from National Trust properties, walking through the bluebell woodlands, driving through the picturesque "Midsomer" villages, to visiting Tring Zoological museum, swooping down the real snow in Milton Keynes Snozone, or playing Top Golf in Watford. All within 30/40 minutes of the farm. We are also close to the Grand Union Canal which stretches from London to Birmingham and which offers leisurely walks and boat hire. We are also only around an hour from Stratford on Avon, a little further to Oxford and Cambridge, and is a good basis for sightseeing.
  • Lovely, cosy room in a fantastic space. Great communication throughout and brilliant value. Very clean and well looked after. Will be back for another stay no doubt!

Modern home in the friendly and vibrant village of Edlesborough. Close to the village green and local amenities including a Post Office, Cafe and Pharmacy. The pretty garden has a table and chairs and leads out to private car parking. There are several pubs nearby which serve good food. Whipsnade Zoo, Ashridge National Park and Dunstable Downs are close. Leighton Buzzard and Tring Railway Stations are within easy reach for trips to London. Wi-Fi is available and well behaved dogs are welcome.
My house is in a good position in the centre of the village. There is a lovely Cafe a few minutes away serving excellent coffee and meals using local produce. There is a Post Office and a shop selling a variety of products including milk and various foods. The pretty village green which has a playground for young children is minutes away if you feel like a relaxing stroll. There is also a Hairdressing Salon, Pharmacy and Electrical shop. My house is comfortable, warm and clean and I hope your stay there will be very enjoyable. I will do my best to help you settle in and feel welcome.
Edlesborough is a lively and vibrant village including people of all ages. There is a good local school and a village green with tennis courts and football pitches. The Good Neighbours scheme supports the community, there are Keep Fit classes and many more group activities.
  • We had a lovely stay at Karen’s house. Karen met us when we arrived and showed us round. She had kindly left us milk and bread for breakfast. The village has a lovely park and amenities. Many thanks

    Katie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s house was everything we needed and more. We were a group of five with the primary intention of being near Watford to do the Warner Brothers Harry Potter film tour. The house suited our purpose and so much more. Clean, furnished and equipped to a high standard, it really was home from home. The two double and one single bedrooms were very comfortable and have a full bathroom and an en-suite shower and toilet was also very useful. Karen is a lovely and welcoming host and we really appreciated her meeting us on arrival and checking us out in person too when we left. She lives in the village so was able to share her great local knowledge. Although our two full days were spent at the film studios and in London, Edlesborough is such a great village that we would not hesitate to return just to relax in this attractive part of the country. We would also not hesitate to return to visit London again as it was no problem to drive to Watford Junction Rail Station and get the fast train into Euston in under 20 mins. It took just over 30 minutes to drive from the house to Watford and of course, there are closer rail stations at Tring and Leighton Buzzard. We cooked a dinner and three breakfasts in the house and loved the kitchen as everything is of a high standard. There is a lovely garden to sit out in which also leads out to the dedicated parking space. The final thing to mention is that we felt the house is fantastic value for money. We would highly recommend Karen as a host, her fantastic house and the lovely village and surrounding area. Thank you, Karen, for such a great stay.

    Charlie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Karen was a fantastic host and did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable and even included breakfast. She has a lovely house and recommended local walks. It’s 5 minutes from Whipsnade zoo which is why we stayed there, so was a perfect location! If we ever head back this way, we would definitely stay again!

    Lara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable accommodation, spotless throughout and personal touches by a very kind host.

    Alex2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place looks tiny from the outside but it is a bit of a tardis and so comfy inside. Everything was clean and tidy, the furnishings were gorgeous and Karen had even left a tray of welcome snack and drinks as well as all the essentials like bread, tea, coffee, milk and cereal. I can't recommend Karen's place highly enough. I will definitely be booking again!

    Lin2020-01-13T00:00:00Z

  • I stay away for work a lot - a combination of hotels, b&b’s and airbnb’s. I have stayed in several airbnb’s and I can honestly say that Karen was not only a faultless host but provided truly a “home from home”. It’s very unusual to return after a day’s work when you are not at home but actually feel like you are at home. I cannot recommend here highly enough. Thank you so much, Karen.

Our Barn is an easy drive to MK business,Houghton Regis, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard It is down a delightful quiet leafy lane in small hamlet. It is great for business travellers. Ideally quiet and very restful. A real home and everyone seems to feel comfortable here. (Please read reviews of our other guests in the main bedroom) We have some superb walks up to the Maidenbower, or along the cycle path to The Five Bells at Stanbridge or few minutes in the car. Many places to eat in Dunstable
Your bedroom is tastefully decorated in pastel shades and the bed is a very comfortable 4ft6ins pocket sprung double bed, goose down duvet and soft towels. You have Wifi and TV in your room. Tea and coffee making tray in your room too. Also a beamed ceiling Underfloor heating. You have your own private bathroom again with beamed ceiling, full size bath with shower as seen in photos. (Please read reviews on my other room which I have had on airbnb for a while.) A good healthy Continental Breakfast is provided on the dining room table with a variety of cereals, yogurts, home cooked ham and cheese, home made bread for toast, croissants and tea/coffee/fruit juices, plus our own Orchard Barn apple juice when available. The breakfast can be ready as early as you wish. Please read the reviews on my profile as they do NOT necessarily come in date order on my individual rooms.
Our neighbourhood is unique in that it is down a leafy tiny lane, with an old postbox in the wall in the lane, also the Maidenbower is a lovely walk round, cycle track to Stanbridge in one direction and up to Dunstable Downs and onto the Ridgeway in the other direction. Both are bridle ways and beautiful walks.
  • A lovely place to stay whilst in the area.

  • Rosemary and her family are very warm and welcoming. The lovely barn conversion home which they share with guests is a delightful place and the setting beautiful. There is almost a feeling of going back in time yet with modern amenities. Set deep in lovely countryside with great walks yet so near to local towns and places of interest. I highly recommend a stay at Rosemary’s home. I would love to go back.

  • If you’re after peace and tranquility in a stunning setting with amazing hosts then this is the place for you! The barn is set in beautiful location but within an easy 5 minute drive of Dunstable centre. The barn has been lovingly restored by the hosts, who are so welcoming and can’t do enough to make you feel at home! My room and bathroom were immaculately clean, with lovely touches such as homemade biscuits and a great selection of teas and coffee. Breakfast was delicious! Lots more homemade treats and excellent coffee! I highly recommend this beautiful place to stay and will certainly visit again in the future. Thank you so much.

  • Orchard Barn is a delightful bed and breakfast destination. Rosemary and her family are excellent hosts, warm and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was excellent and Rosemary is a considerate and conscientious host. We wished we could stay longer so that we could have explored the local footpaths as Orchard Barn is in a lovely location.

    Anne-Marie2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and barn conversion with exceptional hosts who couldn’t do enough to make our stay a memorable experience. Loved chatting to the hosts Rosemary , Alistair and Louise. Can’t fault it in anyway and would give it our highest recommendation.

  • Orchard barn was a surprise find for a weekend away, but went above our expectations. It was absolutely immaculate and finished to such a beautiful, clean and very high quality!! The room & bathroom were both beautiful and so clean and tidy. It had everything we needed and more for our weekend. We were also treated to some home made apple juice made at rosemary’s house! Both rosemary and Alistair were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They welcomed us into their beautiful home and made sure our stay was perfect. Breakfast was served at a time we chose and had a huge variety of cereals, pastries and fresh fruit. They were full of helpful information and were quick to advise us where to eat and spend our time. Thankyou we will definitely look into coming again!! 5*

I was quiet nervous about staying in a hosted air B&B as this is the first time I’ve done it but Tim was friendly, welcoming and instantly put me at ease and his home is lovely and cosy, a home away from home. I will definitely stay again if I am in the area. Thankyou Tim!

All great in little cottage, if I have one little moan it’s the slow WiFi but considering the rural location that probably can’t be helped! It is only a ten minute drive to Tring Railway Station, shops and facilities, or a ten minute walk to Ivinghoe village, with pub, shop and tea room. London Euston is a 40 minute train ride from Tring Station. Ridgeway is a ground floor barn conversion with open plan living area, two bedrooms, a wet room and a patio area. The front door opens on to the living area with kitchen and sitting areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and kitchen table with four chairs. The sitting area has two double sofas and an armchair, a flat screen TV and a DVD player. The property has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, and one with twin beds. The wet room has a shower and a heated towel rail. Parking for two cars is available at the front of the property. Up to two pets are welcome in the property, please let us know on booking. Wi-fi is included in the rental. The property has access to a tennis court available to hire, games room and a children`s play area on the farm. The property benefits from heating by electric radiators, please note that rental includes £20 per week, towards electricity. Any extra is charged as used. This allows us to be able to remain environmentally green as possible.

Newly appointed, Ridgeway Lodge provides the perfect escape. A quiet location with wonderful views. Our house is adjacent to the lodge so we are normally around to advise on walks, any questions and help you check in. Nestled on the edge of the Chilterns, we're close to Ivinghoe Beacon, Whipsnade Zoo, and Tring Zoological Museum. Bletchley Park, Harry Potter Studios and Waddesden Manor are 30 mins away. With open staircase and corded triangular window blinds, it's not suitable for toddlers.
The Lodge is newly finished January 2020 to a high specification with Infrared heating and direct pressure hot water system for a great shower. There is a large wall mounted TV with Netflix and BBC iplayer. Also wi-fi and an Alexa device. The kitchen has Microwave, Oven, Hob, Dishwasher, Fridge etc. and we can lend you other items as required. Laundry can be arranged with us in the main house. The Breakfast table seats 4. The bedroom has an en-suite and the lounge has a sofa bed which can be converted into a double bed. There is a downstairs toilet/washroom and a reading area with bi-fold doors providing a lovely view to the fields and woods at the back of the lodge. To make your stay extra special, there is a private patio where you can BBQ and enjoy the fire pit. (Small charge for fuel.) Separate from the house is a secure bike / boot / drying room for your exclusive use. Table tennis is available in the summer. There is private parking next to the lodge.
Lots of lovely pubs and coffee shops. Short walk to Edlesborough, Ivinghoe and we can advise you on local walks and cycle routes and places of interest.
  • Fantastic place. Comfortable, cosy, clean with all the amenities you could need plus some lovely personal touches. Dave and Pam are really friendly and can't do enough. Will definitely return.

  • Dave and Pam are very friendly and friendly. We chat together like old friends for many years, thank them for their sincere hospitality. Their house is beside a quiet field. It is wonderful to get up in the morning listening to the birds' tweets. The indoor facilities are very convenient and the rooms are clean and tidy. It was a perfect stay.

  • What a truly fantastic place. It’s hard to find the words to do it justice. Dave and Pam are wonderful hosts and extremely helpful (many thanks for the walk suggestion). Everything you can need and more is here - great cooking facilities, amazing shower, very comfortable bed.... the list is endless, and a real care for looking after their guests. I have already re-booked. Thanks Dave & Pam

  • You can expect what’s on the tin. The photographs and descriptions are spot on. Dave and Pam are brilliant friendly hosts and will give you as much or as little attention as you would like. Communication is good and the lodge stylish, clean as a button and very well put together, with little quirky spaces lending a good feeling to the whole place. Highly recommended.

  • We had a really wonderful stay at Ridgeway. Had the privilege of being their first guests, and it was better than expected. The amenities of a 5* hotel, super comfy and clean, peaceful surroundings, and the luxury of a brand new place. Breakfast was provided and lots of thoughtful touches. It’s located very close to the host’s home but still felt private and we weren’t disturbed so had the perfect break. HIGHLY recommended.

Julia goes well beyond expectations to ensure you have a great stay. * As advertised, be aware that arriving at the cottage after 4:30pm will likely mean you are not able to park within a couple hundred yards. On-street spaces are available during working hours, but do ensure luggage is off-loaded before the evening rush!*

Welcome to woodbine cottage. We began restoring this early Victorian cottage 2 years ago. The best feature of the house, and the reason we were drawn to it was the huge (almost an acre) garden. At the end of the garden are three Alpacas. Most of the house is now restored and fitted out with high end furnishings. There are beautiful views of fields to the front, and Ivinghoe Beacon is a stone's throw from the end of the garden. There are three parking spaces. The house has many period features.
We have some really interesting out buildings. The large garage houses a pool table, darts board, sofa and outdoor heater. (the 3rd bedroom/office) is also in an outside building, that has heating laid on. We also have a lovely Moroccan inspired covered seating area where you can eat in the Summer months. The garden is full of bulbs in the Springtime and blooms with herbascious beds in the Summer months. The garden has 3 unique areas including an orchard and a Victorian walled garden. Inside there are two living rooms with log burners, sash UPC windows, and gorgeous herringbone engineered wood flooring. Upstairs there are three double sized bedrooms with solid wood floorings. The master has beautiful views of fields, an open fireplace, pictures rails, fitted wardrobes, television, and a king sized bed. The second bedroom has a fireplace, picture rail, double bed, views of fields, and an en-suite shower room. there is also a television. The shower room is beautifully tiled and is on the cusp of design with modern black fittings. The third bedroom has a Ercol single bed and toddler cot. it has views of the garden. the fourth bedroom is in an outside annex and has laminate flooring, views of the garden and a television. It has a single bed, with a trundle bed that makes it into a double. Upstairs there is also a beautiful family bathroom with panelled walls, and a roll top bath. The kitchen is yet to be upgraded. although small it is functional and clean. It has an oven, grill, microwave oven, toaster and kettle. The other white electricals are housed in a glasshouse to the back of the property. This area is also yet to be upgraded and contains a downstairs WC. There is off-street parking for 3 cars. The house is 4 miles from the market town of Tring and 6 miles from Leighton buzzard. The house would make a wonderful base for walking. locally there are many attractions: The Ridgeway Ivinghoe Beacon Whipsnade Zoo The Grand Union Canals Asheridge Forest Wendover Forest Pitstone Windmill
The house is situated outside of the village and feels very rural.
